The best place, good music and excellent classic cocktails
Super comfortable, the music was unbeatable, the service was excellent, the place was super nice without being pretentious!
The place is amazing! The atmosphere is fantastic; it's a chill spot to hang out and have a few drinks. The music is varied and perfect for having a good time. The drinks are incredibly delicious! You'll absolutely enjoy the experience from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this place.
After getting drinks at Limantour and Handshake during our vacation in CDMX, we decided to try out Lava before our dinner at Sud777. And wow, Lava was such an incredible experience, becoming our favorite bar in CDMX. The bartender was so highly skilled and the drinks were so unique and perfectly balanced. Finally a bar in CDMX with spirit-forward drinks. The atmosphere and music of lava further elevated the experience. Loved the music/stereo theme. Congrats, Lava Music Bar!
This is one of our favorite bars in the city yet. We have tried many of the top bars and would say that this one matches them all. The cocktails were the best we have had, the atmosphere is amazing, and the music makes you want to stay all night long. Really great experience from the talented bar tender. Cannot recommend enough!
Elegance, style, and fun in the heart of Pedregal. If you're looking for an exclusive night out with a casual touch in Pedregal, Lava Music Bar has everything to surprise you. From the moment you step onto the elevator (which you could avoid by taking the stairs, but where's the fun in that?), you already feel like you're about to experience something special. The decor in shades of red, with soft lighting and velvet seats, creates an intimate yet chic atmosphere, ideal for a romantic date or a night out with friends. The music is simply spectacular. The DJ mixes deep house and nu-disco on vinyl, adding a vintage and sophisticated touch. Each track flows with precision, generating an energetic yet welcoming atmosphere. As for drinks, I decided to try a 500ml Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, a German wheat beer that cost 200 pesos. Its fruity nuances of banana and clove combine with malty notes for a light, creamy, and naturally hazy experience. This beer is like a little bottled feast, perfect for ending the day on a high note. The cocktails are equally impressive. Lava Music Bar offers mezcal-infused options that are not to be missed and showcase the skill of their team, around 400 pesos per drink. In the kitchen, backed by the Sud 777 restaurant, you can't miss the olives—they're finger-licking good, so delicious. Oh, and speaking of details that make all the difference: the restrooms. Yes, Lava Music Bar has those Japanese-style restrooms with bidets that leave you cleaner than a sincere apology. It's one of those unexpected luxuries that brings a smile to your face. Lava Music Bar has it all: great music, impeccable cuisine, premium drinks, and a vibe that makes it stand out in the area. If you're in Pedregal and looking for a memorable, luxurious, and sophisticated experience with beautiful people, but also a casual touch, this is the ideal place to relax, enjoy yourself, and let yourself go. Approximately 1600 per person. See you on the next route.
It's an excellent place to listen to music and have a drink. There's a live DJ. All the music is played on manual turntables. The sound quality is good. The amplification is analog: a curious detail. The staff is well-trained, knowledgeable about the menu, and extremely attentive. The appetizers are excellent. The drinks are well-made. The terrace is spacious and well-ventilated. The restrooms were clean all night. It's definitely a place to visit again.
The place is alright, they excel at sound system an overall infrastructure but we were there on a Saturday night and the place was practically empty. We had some good cocktails, especially those that were either gin or tequila based (with some fruity notes). Some of the members of our party were not drinking alcohol and they drank a couple mocktails instead. The drink menu is lengthy, so there is something for everyone here. The food was alright: we tried some croquetas and olives. Prices are high but not astronomical. I would recommend this place for a first date but not necessarily for a night out with friends.
Very expensive, and honestly, the drinks are very X-rated. The place is very nice and decorated in a 1960s mid-century style. Ad hoc to the Pedregal, the music is good, what you'd expect from a music bar. The staff is friendly and courteous. The bathrooms are incredibly clean. It's good for special occasions because unfortunately, the price doesn't encourage me to go regularly.
An unconventional bar... You arrive and are taken up in a freight elevator similar to those used to enter a mine. All the lighting is red, which makes it even more attractive since it simulates the color of red-hot lava. You could say you're near an erupting volcano. I thought it was very creative considering it's located in a rocky area, very in keeping with the terrain of the place. The food is delicious, obviously because it's prepared at the Michelin-starred "Sub 777." The service is very good; these guys really go out of their way to treat diners as if they were their friends. The best thing about it is the musical atmosphere. The DJ only plays vinyl records, so the sound is very vintage, an eclectic mix with touches of jazz, soul, rock, and pop that captivate anyone. I found the place very authentic. The cocktails and all the drinks prepared there are authentic creations. I assure you, you'll be amazed by the originality and authenticity of the ingredients. Cheers 🥂 See you later, baby!!
A great place but very very expensive.
The place is cool, but the service is AWFUL. The bill is higher than the menu.
I really liked the place, and the DJ sets I played were great, but the service was terrible (I had to repeat my order three times). Getting a server's attention was very difficult. The cocktails, as was the food, left a lot to be desired. And I've never experienced a bar that would prevent me from taking my medication even when I explained in detail that I needed it. Terrible experience.
The guy in charge with the broccoli-shaped hairdo has zero concept of service and customer care… they gave me a table with an incredibly uncomfortable stool… I asked him to change it for a chair even though there were 7 tables available… He didn't, and what's more, he had zero intention of resolving anything, at least pretend to be helpful, for crying out loud…
It looks like a great place to go after dinner in Sud, but honestly, it's not. I'll be brief: Very mediocre service, the waiters looked unfriendly. The music was bland, just boring pop hits in English and Spanish. They didn't make the most of their Margules sound system, which was the best thing about the place. The atmosphere was typical of office workers. The boss and his partner, who was 30 years younger, and the businesspeople were clearly exhausted at 11 pm. The decor was odd. The architecture was the same. Some things, like the lighting, were downright tasteless. And to top it all off: it was ridiculously expensive. I don't recommend it. I won't be back.
