The food is excellent, authentic and high-quality. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Greta, who serves tables and is also incredibly friendly. We've been there several times and will definitely be back. It's a wonderful place, both summer and winter.
A simple restaurant serving traditional cuisine. The appetizers and jugged venison are especially excellent. The vegetable side dishes could be improved. Attentive and courteous service. Reasonably priced.
We were there in February and after a walk we stopped for lunch. The tortelli were never so good, polenta with delicious venison and fried potatoes. The girl who served us was kind and discreet. I highly recommend...we had an excellent lunch.

Week 7-13 August 2023 with friends for a trek We stayed in the Nikolajevka Refuge, located 500 meters above the inn, so we didn't see the rooms in the inn itself. Rooms have a double bed plus bunk beds, a large private bathroom: they are simply furnished, but new, spotlessly clean, and functional. A few more coat hangers and shelves wouldn't have gone amiss. We opted for breakfast at the inn, but it's also possible to have it at the refuge: breakfast is a no-buffet affair, with bread, jams, fruit juice, milk, and unlimited coffee. Dinner always offers a selection of hearty, tasty, and unfussy local dishes, just like in a real osteria: venison, roe deer, polenta, casoncelli, gnocchi col bagoss, all excellent. The family who runs the inn shows their passion and love! Greta, in particular, was wonderful at the table service: always smiling and professional, she made us feel at home! For those seeking an authentic place, far from the hustle and bustle of the moment, this inn is worth the trip. The value for money is unbeatable, I believe, in the entire Alpine region!

Authentic, traditional food. Venison, roast beef, nettle mezzelune... so delicious! A casual atmosphere nestled in the verdant valley: ideal for a simple walk on the flat or a starting point for more challenging destinations.
A charming inn surrounded by greenery, a relaxing atmosphere! Very friendly and polite staff, they go out of their way, especially the girl outside who almost single-handedly took care of all the tables without making us wait too long! The food arrived quickly, the portions were ok—not huge but adequate—the price was definitely very good, and the food was fabulous! Really satisfied! I will recommend it!

Arriving here in the winter with the snow is pure poetry. The food is good, the staff is friendly, the building is a bit dated, and the prices are reasonable. We had a great time and will be back.

Ottima soluzione per trekking nei sentieri attorno. Buon cibo , stanza accogliente , pulita , bagno confortevole (manca il phon).
Ci siamo fermati per rinfocillarci durante una passeggiata. Il posto mi ha fatto una buona impressione. Ho preso un tè e una fetta di strudel, buono. Sconsiglio invece di prendere il caffè.
This inn isn't huge, but it's quaint. It serves traditional dishes, with vegetarian options available. The linguine with venison ragù was delicious. The only flaw was the POS system, which had all the consequences that entailed...
I only had an aperitif, but it's perfect here on the Gaver plain...there are also rooms that, when used in the winter, create a charming atmosphere.
This inn is nestled in the countryside, where hiking trails begin. Family-run, with friendly and helpful staff. The room was average, with a clean bathroom and everything else. Dinner featured local dishes and was truly delicious. The only flaw was the overcooked risotto, which was pre-cooked and served almost immediately. Kudos to the prompt service. Breakfast consisted of only dessert, a bit sparse, but it was enough. Overall, it was good and recommended!

Sunday lunch, crowded, dishes reheated and tasteless. If you're hungry and coming down after a walk, it's fine...you'd even eat the table. The dessert strudel is also disappointing... last time I only had a cheese sandwich, it was better. The service, however, is impeccable and fast.
A simple but well-kept restaurant. We ate very well after a walk with the dogs. Make a reservation, as it's small, and dogs are allowed in the car. I usually leave them outside in the shade, just because they would disturb the neighbors at the tables.

The restaurant does not allow pets, and despite having an outdoor space, they decided not to offer outdoor dining service. Those who don't accept animals or are unwilling to walk a few steps to provide outdoor service don't deserve my money.
