King Kong Sushi was a fantastic dining experience in Myrtle Beach. The sushi was fresh and delicious, but what truly impressed me was the service from Taylor. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. I'll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful experience today! Courtland was our server…and she was fantastic! She made our dinner special and memorable. Will definitely be coming back specifically because of her!🩷
This restaurant is excellent. The waitress Taylor very attentive and polite, professional and friendly. The atmosphere very calm, the place clean and the food really good. Bulgogi lettuce wrap. Green tea with lemon wedge, I added a piece of pickled ginger ( didn't work) cucumber and avocado sushi rolls with slices of pickled ginger and wasabi on the side, excellent and fresh, last plate sweet potato in the rice roll. We actually thought it was a sweet potato bread roll 🤦🏻♀️it was pretty good. We were able to carry out what we couldn't finish. I would gladly go again. It was a bit pricey as we ordered several items, there were two other plates with steak ( already cut, not a fan) and grilled shrimp with a mound of rice. Nice visit here. We will go back in December 👋🏼
I have ordered sushi from here multiple times. It's fresh and you get large portions. The staff is excellent and very friendly. They have a large sitting area, bar and do TAKE OUT! I usually get take-out and they do a very nice job at packing your order. See the photos. There is a lot of different roll options to cover first timers to experienced sushi lovers. The location is super easy to get to. Park on the David and Busters/Hard Rock Cafe side. This is my go to sushi place and if you try them, it may become yours too.
On Monday (11/24), my daughter and I stopped in King Kong Sushi for dinner before leaving Broadway at the Beach. We shared the $65 Sushi Combo for 2 | DINE-IN ONLY and comes with: - 2 Soups (we chose Miso), - 2 House Salads w/ Ginger Dressing, - 1 Appetizer (we got Shumai), and - 4 Specialty Maki Rolls (we picked the: Dragon Roll, Hurricane Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Salmon Tempura Roll) | Each roll comes with TEN (10) pieces!! I also ordered the Soft Shell Crab which came with 2 whole, decent sized crabs cut in half, giving you 4 large pieces. Amanda was our super sweet server, providing great and efficient service! The food was plentiful and phenomenal as well! If you’re seeking fast and delicious sushi while visiting Broadway at the Beach, look no further! King Kong Sushi will definitely be our go to place when visiting Myrtle Beach!
We had such a wonderful experience at King Kong Sushi Bar! From the moment we walked in, the manager sat us immediately, and our server Clay was outstanding. He was attentive, knowledgeable, super friendly, and made sure our drinks were always full, truly an awesome waiter! The food was phenomenal. I didn’t get a picture of the lobster wontons, but they were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the sushi deal, which came with two soups (we tried one clear and one miso the clear was great, the miso wasn’t my favorite but still good), two house salads, an appetizer, and four specialty rolls. We chose the crab wontons as our appetizer (pictured) and they were phenomenal as well. All four rolls were fresh and tasty definitely worth it for only $65! For dessert, we added the fried cheesecake topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. My husband loved it! The only small note was that the presentation could have been a little nicer, but it’s really no big deal because everything else was plated beautifully. I also had a peach martini, and it was perfect. Clay made sure our date night was extra special, and we truly appreciate his service. Thank you for a wonderful evening we’ll definitely be back!
This was my first time visiting King Kong sushi and I have to say I would definitely come back! Firstly the food was amazing, my boyfriend and I ordered 5 rolls of sushi and we cleared our dish completely. The service was also amazing! Steph was our server and she was very kind and attentive, she checked in on us the perfect amount of times! Definitely a great spot if you like sushi :)
This sushi spot is a hidden gem! The rolls were beautifully made and tasted just as good as they looked. I tried the spicy tuna and volcano rolls—both were fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced in texture and spice. You can tell the chefs take pride in their craft. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality, which is always a pleasant surprise when it comes to sushi. Great value all around. Service was excellent—friendly, fast, and attentive without hovering. The staff made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. If you're craving great sushi without breaking the bank, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’ll be back for sure!
We enjoyed our stop at King Kong Sushi! It was Saturday night in July and there was no wait! The lettuce wraps were DELICIOUS!! And we ordered a couple of sushi rolls (spicy shrimp and California) and enjoyed those too! It was a good light meal that allowed us to sample foods at other restaurants too. It was a good value. We will return when back in town.
I had a wonderful experience at King Kong Sushi the food was great and the service was even better my waitresses name was Taylor and I hope im spelling it correctly because she deserves prays for her care for the customers and the knowledge of the menu options choices and substitutes I'm vegan and she went to extreme lengths to make sure my food prepare properly her attitude was calm and welcoming and it was a pleasure to be served by her a wonderful clean and friendly dinning establishment definitely recommend you go check them out
2nd time here. Great place. Great food. Im just a little SUS about the TUNA this day. It was DYED a dark bright color that leaked and stained the bed of radish it was set on. They said it was blood. IT WASN'T. You'll understand if you saw it yourself. for me and my family's safety, not going back
Good place to stop for a nice and flavorful roll! The menu had a selection of sushi rolls, specials, and even hibachi. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, which while visually unappealing, were very delicious. Our sushi rolls were very yummy and a good size for the cost. They had a cocktail menu, and even seasonal cocktails. Service here was friendly, and the cost wasn’t too heavy. We would be back!
Fantastic Food. Great Presentation. Our server was very attentive and we got our food fast. The only reason it wasn't a 5 star is that there was a slight odor throughout the whole visit, and being we went during lunch, they still had regular prices, no lunch specials. Definitely recommended, & definitely would go back again.
The food and service were fine, no issues, however; check your receipt. This restaurant charges a SERVICE FEE on top of your food and tax. Prepare to pay. Will not return.
Food was great. Service was great. What I do not like is that they charged a service charge as well as an operational fee and that was not even considered as the tip. We liked our waiter, but we cannot afford operational fees, service charges, and then tip on top of that so we were not able to tip our waiter. That is not fair to these waiters and waitresses. What are these fees for anyways???
This is the first time coming here with my father. I've heard about king Kong sushi before but never been. When we got to the place we were greeted by the host that looked like she hated the place she worked at. We then got given dirty menus that was stained by the soy sauce. Once we got sat our server greeted us and took our drinks. She was professional but wasn't enthusiastic. We got our sushi rolls served and it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had but for the price it done the job. Overall king Kong is good if you are on a budget!
We were looking for a quick lunch before exploring the shopping at Broadway on the beach and tried this restaurant. We were greeted immediately. We got a booth that was comfortable. The decor is nice inside. The waiter was attentive and very helpful. There were plenty of choices on the menu. I got the fried crab and miso soup. The soup had a deep, rich flavor. The soft fried crab was just ok. It turned overly oily. The outside sections were crunchy, but it was hard to deal with the oil. My wife ordered the beef lettuce wraps. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy. The beef had a tasty marinated flavor. They were pretty good. The only disappointment was the crab. I probably wouldn't go back unless I wanted to try the sushi.
Absolute horrid smell. They were burning a candle at the entrance to try and cover, smelled like sewage but the bathrooms smelled fine. My salad lettuce was brown and slimy. Cups smelled bad like dirty water. Tails on my hibachi shrimp which I thought was strange. Rice amd shrimp actually tasted good despite everything.
No lunch special anymore. No soup or salad with entrees anymore - you have to upgrade and pay extra. 3% fee when using anything except cash for the bill. This restaurant/management is only after tourist money. Employees said it themselves - Locals will never be back (At least us and our friends won’t be).
