If you want the real deal French boulangerie :) This is the place for you. Breakfast is delicious baked eggs is my favorite for sure, also scrambled eggs with smoked trout. Pastries are w world class, coffee is meh could be much better. You absolutely have to get their Brioche and make some French toast :) Yum.
Great food, service and ambience!! Even if it’s cold during the wintertime, I recommend snagging one of the two tables outside (where there is an enclosed space still). It was very peaceful! I had the delicious and filling avocado toast with a chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookie. Of course, I added an almond milk mocha! #bakeri #coffeeshoptabletop #coffee #nyccoffee #brunch #avocadotoast
Bakeri is great and the cinnamon rolls are to die for <3 it's so hard to find a good cinnamon rolls that aren't ruined by cream cheese icing (personal opinion), and I'm so happy to have found this place! The ambience is also perfect with a fully visible kitchen to reinforce the grandma's-homemade-ness that their baked goods provide.
My go-to neighbourhood bakery! I love their baguette and sour dough bread! Thank you!
both locations are awesome and have delicious pastries and breads! this location has a bigger menu and really nice dine in casual ambiance. the people who work here are also always so nice
I was visibly having a poor day and I wanted the roasted chicken sandwich but they didn’t have it. The server was kind and sweet and gave me a little treat as a pick me up. I could have cried. Sweet service and pastries.
Love this spot. Cinnamon role did not disappoint. Latte was good. I’ve also had one of their breakfast egg dishes which was also very good. Go early before the baked goods run out!
Beautiful, warm interior. Pot of tea was perfectly steeped and there was a wide array of treats and food to choose from. My banana bread was moist & tasty & the owner was really nice. One of the regular baristas was a bit rude and didn't acknowledge me to order, but the rest made up for it.
If you are looking for a real neighborhood bakery with the freshest and most delicious products (that also don’t cost an arm and a leg) that isn’t an instagram opportunity with a line of 400 people out the door this is the place for you. We need more establishments like this in the neighborhood.
This place has tasty pastries. I got the seasonal skolebrod (it's like a filled donut), slice of apple cake, and the berry lemon cake and it was all delicious. I would stop by again when in the area.
Come here for the bread, stay for the Ham and Cheese Rolls and Financiers! Bakeri is a neighborhood staple where you'll always find a cute dog or three outside. There's table service and a small outside area with some tables. The staff are all friendly and super helpful. The bread is baked fresh on-site and their sandwiches are fresh everyday. The coffee is great too!
amazing pastries every day- love the variety! coffee is OK, there for the croissants and sweets mainly :-)
Great coffee. Amazing food. Delicious Pastries.
This is hands down the best coffee and pastry shop I’ve been to in Brooklyn. Once to twice a week my gf (she goes even more) and I make our pilgrimage and are never disappointed. They have the perfect blend of staple pastries and rotating specials that keep you on your toes and excited for the next visit. The staff … the best people to get your morning started with. Thank you, Bakeri! Things to try: ham and cheese croissant, breakfast focaccia, dirty chai (homemade)
An atmospheric bakery and coffee shop serving delicious bakery items from home baked bread to pies and cakes. I loved their community style table as well as their cute cup plates. The bakery products are freshly made daily and delicious, not too heavy and just the right amount of sweetness. And the service is wonderful with everyone really enjoying what they do there!
Finally was able to snag one of there highly sort after Cinnabons. I got my hands on one by switching up my time of day. Apparently the Cinnabons don’t make it past 10am and after 2 days of trying to get it past 2pm, I succeeded this morning. WELL WORTH THE HYPE, and in my opinion underpriced a bit. It’s gooey , warm, and crusted in all the right places. I couldn’t even take it home , as I took it down on the spot, with some help lol. This place in general is very very nice and quaint . The layout is very country vintage with French inspo. Their back area seating is a front row to all of the daily pastry prepping, which is pretty cool to watch. The shop offers a nice balance of options between sweet and savory treats. I haven’t tasted everything but I do plan too as I can easily see this being a go to for all my sweet treats.
Bakeri is one of my all-time favorite neighborhood spots. All of the bakery items are amazing and the espressos are spot on. Recommend coming on a weekday when it’s more slow—it’s like you have an entire French farmhouse to yourself! Plus, the mugs and little plates are adorable. It’s all in the details here. My place to go and dream… 🩵
Every now and then food and drink becomes a spiritual experience. I was gifted with, and I am not exaggerating, the most perfect double espresso I've ever tasted. It was a perfect espresso, the perfect tangy finish, the perfect crema, the perfect acidity, the perfect body (not too thin, not too heavy). Thank you.
Best bakery in Greenpoint ! I am from France and this is the place where I can find bread made like in France. Just so good! Their sandwiches are delicious too ! There are a lot of pastries as well. There is something for every taste ! The bakeri itself is cute, kind of vintage. There is a small place where you can eat outdoor. Always packed which is a good sign huh? 😁
I always love visiting Bakeri when I'm in Greenpoint. They always have great service and delicious food. There sourdough bread hits the mark weather with Jam and butter or with whitefish salad. Don't miss their chocolate zucchini bread either!
I live in Greenpoint for over 4 years now and I could go to Bakeri every day. The staff is always super friendly. My son is always happy to see Juliana! Again favorite Breakfast spot in Greenpoint
We had the most delicious cinnamon roll It was so good, that we have no photo. Really friendly staff and great pastries 😍🫠🥰
My take on the concept: Hipster inherits grandma’s cute cottage and turns it into a cozy cafe serving baked goods (warm pain au chocolat in the morning changed my life btw) while playing their favorite Polo & Pan (and similar-ish) hits. You can bring yourself and a book to enjoy your cinnamon roll at the bar. Or come w/ a couple friends and sit at the community table, under the gaze of the regulars who line up around it on their journey to the counter.
*Updates: 2nd visit for their sour dough. IT IS THE BEST OF THE BEST! I was so surprised. Super crunchy edge and super soft and beautiful inside! I got their spicy honey biscuit and plain croissant. Both were great and I love them! The biscuit was crunchy at the edge and solid but soft enough in between. The croissant was crispy outside, and soft and chewy inside.
Genuinely and consistently the best plain croissant I've ever had (yes, even better than the ones I've had in Europe). So flaky, so buttery, so crispy and soft all at once. I'm honestly such a snob now as a result, and won't really touch a croissant anywhere else.
I get sourdough starter from Bakeri often, and they’re always so nice and helpful. The staff is friendly, the space is welcoming, and the starter is always fantastic. Love supporting this spot!!
Wow! Amazing. I would never expect to Find this place in the middle of a quiet residential block, and it’s glorious, inside and out, delicious and there is no mediocre coffee in these parts these days but this is good even for around here and the atmosphere… totally awesome and cozy in a non-kitchy way. Authentic, gets really nice light, great spot!
Great for a sunny brunch or cozy morning! You are greeted with the smell of fresh bread and pastries along with an extensive menu of seasonal ingredients and filling portions. The scrambled egg and cheddar biscuit were homely and comforting. The cardamom cookie was satisfactory. The staff is super kind and attentive. The ambiance is relaxed and you can easily enjoy a conversation. Will be back!
Nestled at 105 Freeman Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Bakeri is a charming, women-owned bakery that offers a delightful array of baked goods. With its whimsical floral wallpaper and handwritten menus, the ambiance is as inviting as the treats themselves . German Chocolate Cake Bakeri's German Chocolate Cake is a standout. This decadent dessert features two layers of rich chocolate cake filled with almond-coconut caramel and finished with a cocoa cream cheese frosting. It's a perfect balance of sweetness and texture, making it a must-try for chocolate enthusiasts . Carrot Cake Equally impressive is their Carrot Cake. Made with fresh carrots and a blend of aromatic spices, it's topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting. The cake is moist and flavorful, offering a delightful treat for those who appreciate classic desserts with a twist . 2 Final Thoughts Bakeri's commitment to quality and ambiance makes it a standout in Greenpoint's bakery scene. Whether you're in the mood for a rich chocolate indulgence or a spiced carrot delight, Bakeri delivers with finesse. Their cakes are available for pre-order, ensuring you can enjoy these treats for any occasion.
Absolutely charming breakfast cafe spot. Located in a small nook of greenpoint’s residential area. This is a cozy, and warm spot for a coffee paired with a pastry. The music is subtle, the ambiance is pleasing and the staff are nice. We came in at 10 am on a weekday, and it was relatively full. There is not much private table options, being that there is one big table and bar, with very few 2-3 seat tables in the limited amount of space. However, Bakeri is a very intimate spot that most can enjoy. Cappuccino was rich and creamy. Macchiato was small, but had notes of chocolate and was delightful. They ran out of Croissants at 10 am, however we still got the kale roll as well as the ham roll. Both were buttery, delicious and big in size. Whether you want to relax by yourself, or enjoy company with others, there is space for you here and that is beautiful ❤️
Bakeri is a must-visit for coffee and pastry lovers! The cafe was packed when I visited on a Sunday afternoon, but it was well worth the wait. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the smell of coffee and bread was intoxicating. I enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and a tasty pastry while soaking up the lively ambiance. I highly recommend this place!
Bakeri its always a treat!!!! I had visited this place so many times that I can recommend basically everything: their baguette is one of the best in NYC! the banana bread its a dream! the chocolate cake is amazing, the soups, cookies, coffee, tea... basically everything! its unique & delicious and also the space its coozy and beautiful (i have so many merch of this place that they had ask me sooo many times if i work in bakeri) i dont but i do consider myself a bakeri babe.
I can't even think of ways to truly illustrate the complete delight it is to consume the delicate and delicious creations that are served, (with great customer service and friendly faces) at Bakeri. I'll just say you gotta try the croissants and baguettes. The lavender cake bar and the apple cider rose cakes! Holy smokes! And that crazy good kale and cheese pastry! Can't get enuff! And the coffee pairs well. OK, go give them a try before you cross that Pulaski bridge, take a detour, bring your wife a treat and Bring your man something sweet. Forget the kids! They won't appreciate it. LOL. But wait, not YOUR kid, but them other kids. Yes, I'm eating them on the ride home, sorry husband and child! 😁😄😅😂
I love this place! I love the other location on Wythe Ave too. The food is so fresh and delicious. Breakfast today was incredible. The bread was soft on the inside and crackly on the outside. The scrambled eggs so fluffy and tasty. The trout was fishy goodness. The people here are so freaking nice. The service was simply incredible. I give this place 20 stars!!!
I was instantly in love with this space once I stepped in. The staff was friendly, the bread and pastry selection was impressive. It was very busy in the morning. I prefer sitting outside for more sunlight as the interior was a bit dark and cramped. *Savory Quiche The quiche was lukewarm, so I brought it home and reheated — chef’s kiss. I had an entirely different thought on the quiche when it was served warm. The pastry crust was sooo flaky and buttery. The pie was loaded with so many toppings like potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant. *Hot Cross Bun I ranked Bakeri’s hot cross bun as my top 1 in 2024. It costed only $2.5 with excellent texture and flavor. It was soft, warm and citrusy with a kick of spice. The bun had the perfect glossy surface and clear cross icing on top. *Latte Their coffee was great in a bakery’s standard!! So smooth and nutty I gulped down the whole cup!
Cute local cafe with delicious pastries! The vibe is chill, the team was very helpful with the selection considering it was our first visit. We’re Determined to try them all one weekend at a time. Had to update with this scrumptious yogurt parfait bowl. Whatever they put in this yogurt is gold 🤤
There was a point at which I was skeptical about this place, but it turns out it is a fantastic spot. I stopped by to grab some sourdough to go but decided to stay and had a great breakfast and coffee; I also fell in love with their honey loaf. I recommend anything with eggs here; they prepare them perfectly. The prices are fair and aren't as expensive as in other places. The vibe and the place in the venue are relaxed. The only thing I'd change is the service isn't as fast, so maybe they could hire more people or distribute the work differently. Oh, the sourdough was fabulous too.
Great space with yummy treats and friendly service. Used to go there a lot every time I visited my son, but he moved to the west coast. They were very accommodating of my food allergy. Love to sit at the bar and watch theem cooking.
Probably the best bakery in Greenpoint but why not 5 stars you ask? Because I found out today if you order biscuits make sure you know what’s in them. It’s usually herbed with different combinations. Which is fine. But today the biscuits had mushrooms in them and it was super gross. I tried. I wanted to like it and I could not eat it. Next time I’ll ask, bc when it’s just herbs they are really good biscuits.
Baked goods are decent, coffee and drinks are okay. Vibe inside is farmhousey. They don’t allow laptops on the weekends or have wifi, so it’s not a cafe you can really work at.
Ambiance is very homey and welcoming. I’ve gotten sandwiches here before and they’re great! I think I just went on an off day? Got a ham and cheese croissant and the croissant tasted oddly sweet. I’m sure it would be good plain, but wasn’t great with savory toppings.
Such a charming spot with beautifully made pastries — I tried a few cookies and baked goods, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. However, the overall experience could’ve been a bit warmer. My latte was served in a paper cup and was unfortunately too cold, even though I was hoping for a porcelain cup like the ones shown in photos on Google Maps. Not a big deal, but it did take away from the cozy vibe I expected. Also, the staff didn’t feel very welcoming — a smile or some kindness would’ve made the visit feel more special. Still, the baked goods were lovely!
The decor of Bakeri is in vintage style and elegant. We visited Sweetleaf last weekend and here this week since we love the vibes in the neighborhood so much. We had one Latte and one Mocha both in small size today and it was so delicious & refreshing. Their pastries look so appetizing and delicate but we didn’t have a chance to try them this time. The only complaint was they asked us for tips in person instead of letting us input by ourselves. We understood it’s for safety purpose but it’s kind of awkward and we only ordered take-out.
This place has a great ambiance, when modern meets the classic, good coffee selections and the pastries are just amazing freshly baked in the adjacent bakery so it does not get more fresh than that. Did I mention gluten free and alternative milk options available. Come for a good time with friends.
This is a beautiful Bakery. The pastries are Scandinavian inspired. The space is charming and has plenty of seating. The service is good. The prices are reasonable. It's a warm and inviting place.
Beautiful bakery with ample sitting space. There was a member who seemed more interested in organizing their pastry display than taking orders😅 Kale cheese roll: dryer and saltier than expected, maybe I got one from an older batch $6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Raspberry pistachio muffin: the moist muffin and crunchy pistachio pieces offered some interesting contrasts in textures. Glad it was small so the sweetness didn’t become too much before I finished $5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Chocolate tahini cookie: dense, soft cookie that balanced the bitter-sweetness of chocolate and the savory/nutty notes of sesame. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great coffee place in Greenpoin . They open from7am to 6 pm serving breakfast and lunch. Nice amount of breakfast items plus variety of vegan smoothies. Fresh coffee, bread and pastries backed fresh daily. For lunch soup of the day , plenty of salads to choose from, good amount of different sandwiches made fresh and they have pre-made sandwich if you in the rush you can grab one they also made fresh daily. Inside is such a nice home feeling. So if you in Greenpoin please stop by and enjoy Brooklyn home. By the way prices is so reasonable. I’m definitely coming back for lunch.
I’ve been a devotee since the first location opened. I’ve refrained from reviewing though the past few years have seen a major decline, beginning with the advent of table service, which is so disorganized and inattentive as to be laughable. The pain Au choclat I ordered the other day was half the standard size. I returned it. My latte is consistently burnt. This seems endemic to Brooklyn post pandemic, though. Odd Fox is the only place to get a latte at the right temperature. The savory tart is excellent, but, again, smaller portions. The to go tipping is insane…Everywhere, but especially here. Pay your workers a living wage. There is one staff member who is so insanely rude it makes me want to walk out. She hasn’t been there the last two days, and I’ve been gone for 3 months, so maybe she left. Absurd, like she was doing a parody of a Brooklyn barista. I say good morning she says NOTHING. JUST STARES. etc.
We loved the 🥕Carrot cake, it was delicious and Nakima was amazing and so sweet. I wish I could give 5 stars but the German chocolate cake wasn’t good at all. It was so dry, hard and the flavors weren’t too good in my opinion. When I go back I’ll give some other treats a try. I’m happy to hear it’s a women owned establishment.
Love atmosphere and the desserts looked delicious. The smoothies are on point. Maybe should increase the date vs choc ratio in the Cosmo. Got the savoury tartine on baguette and smoke salmon tartine on baguette. Remember there are multiple types of tartines, some which are not sandwiches. I made that mistake (not on the restaurant ofc). Will try this place again in future.
While very cute, albeit a bit too dark inside, this place fell short two fold: one of the worst iced lattes I’ve had. It resembled more of water than of coffee. And second, both the pan suisse and the Mexican hot chocolate buns were too dry, flavourless and all-round a flop. I barely finished my portion of the desserts. Service was poor - unenthusiastic, removed, confusing (eg unclear where to line up). Loved the look of/ atmosphere, but that’s about all
I mean the vibe would be the only reason to come here not for the bakery goods, food or coffee Pre made focaccia sandwich was okay but nothing special at all and today’s soup (squash soup) tasted like just water and squash juice which tasted weird Tried a couple of bakery goods here but they were also just okay nothing special tbh Not that friendly staff
I recently visited Bakeri, and while I appreciated its cozy and intimate atmosphere, I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the pricing and service. A tiny matcha latte set me back a whopping $7, and to be honest, it didn't even taste that great. There are several other cafes in the area that offer larger, better-quality drinks at more reasonable prices. What's more, the staff at Bakeri can be quite rude and often fail to greet customers. Despite the charming decor and convenient location, I have to say that it's just not worth the money.
The least dog friendly establishment in all of Greenpoint. Will no longer be supporting a place that does not accommodate local culture. The pastries are good but not that good when there are tons of other local businesses (that are very pup friendly) in the area.
I was so disappointed by the pastries here. We got a plain croissant ($5.50 and so bland!!!!), pear scone of the day, and the worst German chocolate cake I’ve had in my life. It’s my Dads favorite cake I’ve been eating it since I was a kid and it was disappointing to say the least. It’s unfortunate because the staff is super nice and the place was well designed but I care more about the food :(
This is definitely not the most comprehensive review since I only drank tea here. The reason why I didn’t eat food was because I saw there were SO MANY flies on the baked goods. I heard that the baked goods taste great, but after seeing the flies, I didn’t feel like trying any of them. I don’t care how good something tastes—if hygiene is not prioritized, it’s an immediate no for me. The employees either didn’t seem to mind the flies or were completely unaware that the majority of the baked goods had flies on them. I also don’t think it’s very well ventilated because there was a musky odor when I entered. I sat outside because the smell was too unappealing. The decor is very lovely and cute—perfect for those who really like pretty cafes. I came on a Sunday, so no laptops were allowed. It’s a great space to meet up with friends and yap away. There are also a few outdoor seats, but those are more for smaller groups or individual customers. Even right until closing time, there were a lot of customers still entering, so clearly a popular spot. If Bakeri can better handle their hygiene, I would be willing to try their pastries that I heard so much about!
I visited with my family yesterday, and one of the servers, a woman wearing a scarf, was extremely rude and unpleasant. I don’t expect her to serve me with a smile, but she took our order and provided service with a curt expression and tone. Was she upset about working on a busy weekend? As someone who has been a regular and loved this place for a long time, I was so disappointed that I don’t feel like coming back again.
The only thing I’d say that’s good here are the loaves of bread. The service is quite bad. The people there cannot be bothered to help you. I’d say that’d be fine if the baked goods or the other food they offer were good, but it’s not. So dry and flavorless. I’ve given this place a few tries and it’s not worth spending your money. Go to sweetleaf down the road for better coffee and a hang out spot. Or go to Radio bakery down the block for tasty baked goods (line can be long here though).
Been here twice, the first experience was bad enough that I didn't attempt to go here for another year. When I did go back, the service wasn't any better (it always feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff). The baked goods aren't really good. The first time I went I got a solid muffin, the second time I got an assortment of pastries to try, none of them were good and I wound up trying them and throwing it away and I hate throwing away food. Don't recommend, Bakeri in Williamsburg was much better unfortunately. This place just feels like somewhere people go to for social media as it is cutesy, but that's all.
Another Instagram trap 🫠 This is the hot chocolate, tastes like only milk, I mean you can see the color!! Workers are not friendly at the cashier, look at the broken plate they gave (plates that are broken need to be thrown). Oh and the pastry is so soft its not even crispy 🤦♀️😭 I’m not someone who leaves bad reviews because I know it hurts the businesses but how else would they improve if people dont share their honest opinion
