It's my first time there and I'm mad i didn't know about this place earlier! Food WOHA! 5 star! Service 6 star! It couldn't be better. Price is pretty fair! The decor and music relaxes your body! The best part is its 7 minutes from boro park! Will definitely come back again and again
Awesome place! Came with party of 4. Ordered 9 items. All delicious. Quick attentive service. Then went to the rooftop, and chilled out with owner and his wife. Highly recommended!! Sure to encourage family and friends to visit.
Phenomenal service!! Incredible venue!! Great for a large party!! Party room is so well set up with speakers! The food was delicious!! We would highly recommend Bass and Bourban!! The waiters and waitresses were so patients and helpful! Thank you for helping make our party the amazing party it was!!
Wow! I decided to try this place last night, and what a treat it was. First of all the ambience is really beautiful, they did a really good job creating this beautiful space. The staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. A big shout out to the highly professional manager Peter! I highly recommend the Tuna Toastare & the Essence of Crisp Sweet Potato (what a treat to fried green olives were) appetizers, and the Grilled Branzino entree. This place is a must try. I will definitely be back!
We ordered basically every appetizer, some drinks and a desert. Worth every star! Food delicious and generous! Staff, phenomenal! Service, great!
My wife Lois and I had supper here yesterday and, for the most part, enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent and the service was great. The only reservation we had was about the music being broadcast (blasted): it was awful and it was loud. One reviewer accurately described and justifiably deplored what she called "Jewish wedding music." Note: if you like this kind of music, you will literally have a blast here. Ricki, the wonderful hostess, kindly lowered the music and changed it, but her substitution was almost as bad. Ricki told me that she was religiously restricted in her choice of music because yesterday was part of the "Three Weeks." She promised to play baroque and classical music on our next visit.
The food was amazing Better then what we expected. The atmosphere was perfect. Good songs place is very clean and beautiful. Absolutely recommending to others. Worth to try !!! We’ll come again !!!!
Delicious fresh food. Excellent service. Nice vibes here. Definitely recommend bringing your friends or family here.
Five stars! I've ordered in the past: 1)Rissoto 2) Salmon Wellington 3) Mozzerella Fusion 4) Essence of Sweet Potato Dish (the eggroll thing with dried olives) 5) Truffle Fries 6)Oreo Milkshake 7) Some cocktail 8) Lava Cake I would definetly want to go again and try some other things I normally don't eat at home.
We love the food and the place so much. Keep it up 💪👏👏👏 You can also make great parties here. Bar / bas mizva etc. Very nice space and atmosphere
WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Amazing atmosphere, food and service! One of the best dairy I was ever at!
This incredible hotspot is off the hook and right onto the next bar in upscale kosher dining. The Operations Manager, Peter, makes certain that everyone is taken care of with excellent service. Our waitress, Tatiana, is kind, patient, and very knowledgable about the menu. The decor is tasteful yet stylish, with double height ceilings, modernesque individual suspended tiles against the black exposed ceiling, and funky lighting. Whoever decorated this space should win an award. (There is even a sanctuary for ceremonies!) We started with a few appetizers including the Cauliflower Polenta - heaven on earth. Don't miss the Stuffed Mushrooms (or the Strawberry Banana cheesecake). The Crispy Cauliflower was also cooked to perfection. The mocktails are delicious - I had the Cucumber Cooler. (Their liquor license is pending.) Pricing is reasonable for upscale - $20 for an app, up to $50 for a main, plus 18%. Honestly the service was so great I had to overtip. We will definitely be going back to Bass & Bourbon.
We had a great time, the ambience, food and staff were amazing.
The food came quick. The staff were very friendly. The space was classy. The food was unique, and delicious. All around 5 star experience. Thank you Peter!
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Our Waiter Ross was nothing short of exemplary. The delicious food and great service definitely made our experience an amazing one! Thank you!
I was always passing this place on the way home. Today took the family in. Delicious food. Great chill atmosphere. Highly recommend
Great spot for event celebration. We were sitting on the rooftop. Great view and good food
I never have such a good kosher dairy food in my life. It was something an amazing experience. Customer service the best
The food was amazing!!! I am not a dairy person, but this restaurant is now my favorite dairy restaurant. The waiter was very nice and friendly. The only slight complaint was that the music was blasting and it was hard to talk. Prices were very reasonable. Menu is simple with Amazing food.
Very nice cozy place, nice atmosphere, great food.
Went for a friend's birthday. Really enjoyed. The food came out in a very timely manner. The staff were all very professional and answered all our questions about each dish and all our allergy concerns.
We came here for a family outing and it was beautiful! The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was impeccable. I would recommend this place to anyone and will come back in the future.
This restaurant truly exceeded all expectations! Food was incredible, service was top notch! Will certainly be back again.
Great vibes! Every few minutes someone came over to ask if we needed anything, nice music and food was phenomenal I would absolutely reccomend
Absolutely delicious food. Will definitely return.
We recently did an event for about 30 people, everything from beginning to end went so smoothly. Booking private space with Levi was seamless, he offered us robust menu to serve ״family style״. Earlier on the day of event, I dropped off the decor I wanted them to set up with, Freddy was extremely helpful, and cordial. When we arrived together with our guests, everything was beautifully set up beyond our expectations! Lisa and Carol worked hard to ensure the table looked magnificent to the last detail. As the food started coming out, dish by dish, we were wowed by the taste, quantity and presentation of every plate. Lisa, so friendly and attentive, manned the whole thing not missing a beat! She was on top of her game ensuring our guests got nothing less than the best service. Thanks to the very devoted staff from manager to cook, waiters and cleaning crew. We had the most memorable night! Highly recommended restaurant!
Wow! What an experience! We are still in awe! Me and my friends had a night out and it was out of this world! The ambiance, the vibe and the food....insanely heaven!! And lets not talk about the goat cheese salad, topped it all off! Last but not least, shout out the the one and only waiter Gabbi! She went above and beyond to satisfy us!
It was an amazing day having kosher food in rad hook
Food and the vibes were amazing. Will definitely be back!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at "Bass & Bourbon," and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. From appetizers to desserts, each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented with artistic flair. I opted for their signature dish, the "cheese ravioli" pasta, and it was a true masterpiece in flavor. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which added to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. What truly stood out, however, was the use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. It was evident that the chef and kitchen team took great pride in the quality of their food. The flavors were vibrant and the portions were generous, leaving me completely satisfied. "Bass & Bourbon," is the most budget-friendly option, the value received for the dining experience makes it worth the occasional splurge. It is an ideal spot for special occasions, celebrations, or simply treating yourself to a remarkable culinary journey. In conclusion, "Bass & Bourbon," is a gem in Brooklyn's culinary scene. With its delectable dishes, charming ambiance, and outstanding service, I can confidently recommend it to any food lover seeking a remarkable dining adventure.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bass & Bourbon, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The rooftop setting provided a serene ambiance. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our every need was met with a smile. As for the food, it was simply delicious! Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, leaving us wanting more. Overall, Baas & Bourbon offers a comfortable environment, excellent service, and scrumptious food—a perfect combination for a memorable dining experience.
This local dairy restaurant is an absolute gem that deserves a standing ovation. From the moment you step through the door, you're transported to a haven of wholesome goodness and culinary delight. The ambiance is charming and inviting, reflecting the warmth of the staff whom are ever so kind. The impeccable service, the heavenly dairy concoctions, and the overall atmosphere make it a five-star establishment in every aspect. If you're searching for a memorable culinary journey through the wonders of dairy, look no further than this extraordinary restaurant. Highly recommended!
My recent visit to Bass & Bourbon around 3:50 PM was absolutely fantastic, offering a truly refreshing experience. Just last week, I went to a different dairy restaurant, and when I asked for the chef's recommendations, I was met with hesitation and vague answers. But here at Bass & Bourbon, it was a completely different story. I again asked for the chef's recommendations, and every single dish was delicious, bursting with flavor, and boasted a perfect texture. It's incredibly satisfying to find a place where the suggested dishes are so clearly crafted with expertise and passion. To top off the superb meal, the drinks were absolutely awesome. From start to finish, Bass & Bourbon delivered an experience that was not only enjoyable but also highlighted exceptional culinary skill. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Great food. Nice private area for groups. Very accommodating for my daughter's bas mitzvah dinner.
The restaurant had a wonderful aroma that made me hungry the moment I walked in. The food lived up to the smell.
Amazing restaurant, great service and good vibe. The appetizers are good, especially the risotto, mushroom cheese tortellini, and Italian harmony mushroom dish. The Melograno pizza was incredible, and the Asian branzino was good. The lotus dessert was DELISH😋 Our waiter Alex was great😊
Great food, delicious flavors, and professional and friendly staff!
Always a crowd pleaser! Been here many tons for lang occasions and I am always impressed by the vibes and the food! The restaurant is gorgeous and so enjoyable! The rooftop in the summer is gorgeous! Overall great place! Would totally recommend!!
Went here for breakfast. It was delicious. Staff was nice. Hot drinks were yummy.
I had dinner at Bass and Bourbon recently and tried the risotto, it was absolutely amazing! Perfectly creamy, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant was stylish yet cozy. It was such an enjoyable experience overall, and I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!
Really nice dairy restaurant. Went with a friend who was 20 minutes late but they didn't mind. It wasn't busy though. We got the goat cheese salad, the mushroom appetizer (incredible), a side of salmon (it was dry) and the white pizza which was also delicious! It was salty and sweet. We split everything and it was plenty of food. Would definitely go back again.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bass and Bourbon and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. Every dish was carefully prepared and bursting with flavor. The standout for me was the Grilled Bronzino, cooked to perfection and served with a rich sauce that was simply divine. The service was outstanding and very personal. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was a memorable one. Their warm and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. The restaurant itself is stunning, with a warm and inviting ambience. The decor is modern and chic with a cool vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your surroundings. The valet parking was a nice touch and made for a stress-free arrival. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Bass and Bourbon and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations and I cannot wait to return for another dinner. If you're looking for a restaurant with delicious food, outstanding service, and a cool vibe, then look no further than Bass and Bourbon.
They have great truffle potatoes, I ordered the red sea bass, the fish was great very soft, wasn't crazy about the sauce. The sachlav was deliciouse and their lotus cake is great (big enough for 2 people) The venue is very nice has a gorgeous rooftop, so if your making your birthday or celebration this venue is really nice.
Such a beautiful atmosphere deserves recognition and the food/drinks should have stories of its own… my husband and I wanted to a simple lunch date mid-day and it was such a pleasure to have an experience at Bass & Bourbon which felt like home. The ambiance was chic and modern but the feeling of comfort and serenity was present maybe because of the staff and the owners who cater to the needs of their patrons. The food was impeccable from the entrée to the salad and the brunch menu which was just the perfect addition. Highly recommend the quinoa salad and the avocado egg wrap. My husband had the eggs Benedict which was done to perfection. Their 3 levels of seating caters to 3 different vibes… the outdoor roof top is everything and I can only imagine the evening vibes of beautiful dance music in Redhook, BK. Their original restaurant Bison & Bourbon has similar vibes and ideal for meat lovers.
There isn't anything negative that I can say about this place the staff is very helpful and friendly the service is great the food is fantastic and the maitre d Peter is exceptional in assisting customers with their selection and making sure that everything is up to par. It's just a great place.
Love the location and waiters are really nice! Food was delicious from seared tuna to sea bass or even the pizza. Our favorite was the strawberry peanut butter cheesecake dessert! Recommendation to ownership *Presentation for seabass needs upgrade *Seared tuna, make sure not over done *lighting should be dimmed
We actually stumbled across this place accidentally. Gorgeous place and super gracious staff! Just a large, beautiful venue! As for the food, the stars for us were the appetizer we had - Avocado Shortrib and the dessert - their oreo cookie cake. Incredible! The entrees were also delicious, however, for a restaurant of this caliber / price point I was disappointed that the mashed potatoes were not from scratch. That's the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. The bartender was amazing and made these wonderful lemondrop shots, best I'd ever had. Definitely a celebratory spot, for birthday, anniversary or to impress a date.
Beautiful venue. Probably the best Kosher dairy restaurant in Brooklyn. Great service. One major flaw - the manager This man actually told a couple next to us that if they wanted to stay they needed to pay their check…what ? Completely neurotic and controlling behavior that became a distraction. Try smiling and treating people with respect, works every time.
The first thing is parking - it is extremely difficult to park around there. If you can not avoid it, make sure to add time to find parking / walk. The restaurant ambiance is very tasteful and service was attentive. The food came out in good time, very fresh and tasty. The prices were very high for the area so be prepared to spend.
I’m amending my original 3 start review. I went back and the bar improved, so has the music selection. Vibes of the place was much better this time around. Service was good, food ranged from good to very good.
Some portions are small, although good food but excessive mandatory gratuity of 20% They don't give you option to choose the rate. Was there again tonight, too expensive. Probably won't come back. Food looked good but was basic meaning it tasted bland. I need flavors...
Service was very good. They had valet out front which was nice. Staff was very nice and professional. We got the tortellini which was great, the mozzarella bites were also fantastic as well as the risotto. The tuna tacos, pizza, and fettuccine alfredo were nothing special. We got cheese cake for dessert which was very fluffy and tasty. For this price range you expect everything to blow you away and we were underwhelmed
I’ve visited this spot twice now. The menu is impressively rich with a lot of variety, and the dishes are generous; you won't leave hungry. I’m giving it only 4 stars because the front of house logistics feel a bit unorganized or lacking solid management. On both occasions, the arrival process was hectic, even with a reservation. It felt like they were "figuring it out" on the fly rather than having a plan for arriving guests. Additionally, the background music felt a bit inappropriate for a dining setting. If they can streamline the seating process and refine the playlist, this would easily be a 5-star experience.
Good space . Good for kids . Variety of food and many choices. Staff is very nice and patient with families with kids. Food was good, rice bslls , all fish meals were good. But salad with goat chese was drenched and not pleasant. Over dressed salad . Will return again to try other dishes.
The food here was beyond incredible. Almost everything I had here was mouthwatering. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the eggplant carpaccio. Otherwise, everything else I ate was incredible. I wasn’t overly impressed with the service. We had to ask for water three times and they didn’t clear pff the dirty plates very well. The vibe of the place is amazing and there’s valet parking which is a nice addition to the restaurant. They also have beautiful space for parties and events. All in all, I would eat here again and definitely would recommend to others.
We wanted to try a new place, and landed on this one. The waiters were super sweet, very friendly and accommodating. Ambiance was perfection. The food was made exquisitely, for the most part everything tasted mouth watering! The only thing I’ll say is we felt like the portions were tiny tiny. (Especially for the prices I guess) For ex: we ordered ravioli, SO GOOD. But it literally only came with 4-5 pieces. Other than that, this place definitely stood out. I’d recommend to others.
Party of 4 for dinner. All the food we ordered was very good. However, the potato leek ravioli was disappointingly small, the size of an appetizer. Additionally, we felt the staff was too eager to take our plates away. We also thought it was odd that a restaurant that has Bourbon in its name, had no cocktails with bourbon on their drink menu, and no dishes or desserts infused with bourbon. In fact, they had a very small drink and wine menu. Expensive.
Where was the Bourbon? Also for adults who want to have a nice dining experience - PLEASE HAVE A SEPARATE AREA FOR PEOPLE AND THEIR CHILDREN! You want to have a couple of drinks and suddenly BUZZKILL from the crying kids around you! Food was good. Wish you had a risotto main and not just an appetizer. Pizza was fine with the red wine. But man how about some bourbon based foods. And yes UBER for eating and drinking! Overall a 3.5 and willing to try again if some changes are made to the menu and drinks. Good luck!
The food was good, but that's expected in a high-end restaurant. It should have been much better than good though. I asked for fresh pepper, they gave me a pepper shaker and said they don't have a pepper grinder. Even the most basic restaurants have a pepper grinder. It's as if one goes to a pizza place and they don't have oregano. The wine selection is extremely small, and the one we ordered was off. Sent it back for another (same one), and that one was bad. Ordered different one that we can get in any store. Now one bad one can happen anywhere, but two bad bottles? Weird. It's a very large space but the air conditioning wasn't on high enough, so was a bit uncomfortable. They said there was nothing they can do. The biggest issue what's the fact that there was no manager or anyone making sure things were "working". It's as if they gave up. Something was off and strange about the whole experience.
the food was great at bass and bourbon and the place is absolutely beautiful! so great for an event! the service on the other hand is very unprofessional! we were a group of around 20 and ordered alot!! one asked if she can have mashed potatoes as a sub for rice and they refused. we were ready to pay extra and they said they cannot do that but if you order a different main with mashed potatoes then you will have. i thought that was bizarre ! our waiter was so sweet and had a great attitude tho! by checkout they did not allow us to split the bill evenly with the group saying that their system doesnt allow him to do it which they need to change if they want big groups!! overall i would go back for the food and space but definitely not going back cuz of their service!
hands down worst service I've ever had in my life. took an hour for any of them to take my order after asking many times. asked for a simple water and bread 4 times and finally got it an hour later. food was very good but the service was way too bad to justify it. it could have been a fluke night but basing it on my experience.
Very understaffed and therefore terrible service. The staff are nice and vibe on the roof is nice, just not enough people serving. There weren't enough chairs for some of the tables on the roof. Bathroom was not clearly labeled and there wasn't a proper place for the papertowels, so the roll was placed on the back of the toilet tank. (Super unsanitary.) Food is good, however got a piece of fried cauliflower that was still frozen inside. Ordered things and had to request them multiple times to get them. They didn't clear the table inbetween courses or refill water unless we got up, went to them and asked multiple times. Really disappointed in the service and would not recommend dining here based on that.
Lower your expectations bro zero and then you will have a great time. The food is mediocre, Service is so understaffed and shorthanded, and the price is outrageous, never mind parking issues, having said that the restaurant was packed with people waiting outside. So, it is up to you to find out how true this review is.
The waiters are nice, but it takes long to get you a table, take your order and bringing you your check etc. The food is okay. The fish is great and the dessert was amazing, but very overpriced and not enough quantity or quality. (Tiny appetizer, bland pasta, drinks were not good) The location isn't great and it's quite pricey for dairy. Not worth the trip.
Ambience is nice but food was bland!
For the money, the food and experience was extremely disappointing.. It 20 minutes to take our order in pretty empty restaurant. The soup came barely warm. We all needed to add a ton of salt because the entres were truly tasteless. Only decent food was the desert.
I've been here twice. All I remember from the first time was that the food wasn't great, we almost didn't go a second time... Which brings us to visit #2: Menu is very rigid, can't swap mashed potatoes for rice. I wouldn't think that it's so out of whack to do that. Food came cold. Cold salmon, cold mashed potatoes, half of the string beans were cold & half piping hot. We ordered the souffle for dessert. It took 40 minutes to arrive! The "lava cake" wasn't runny at all and the ice cream was half melted. Waiter kept passing by us and letting us know that it was "only a few more minutes...." The staff was friendly, the environment was nice. That said, I primarily go to a restaurant for food.
The music was very loud. The wait was a bit long for drinks and other menu items. The staff were polite, and the restaurant was busy. The layout is weird and somewhat warehouse-y-ish. There were balloons stuck on the ceilings taking away from the ambience. The food was ok.
Last night we had a terrible experience unfortunately. The fish and chips were stale. The salads were not fresh and I found a piece of plastic in it. They barely applogized. They gave us a new salad that still was stale. Couldn't eat the food and left starving.
The food is below average, we ordered the blackened salmon and it was difficult to eat, French fries were soaked in oil and it’s extremely overpriced
if you are coming here because of their sister store, Bison and Bourbon just beware! There is nothing but the name in common. The food was subpar, was unable to finish the dish. the place has no class or artsy vibe, no ambiance! for example, they are wheeling around black bins on wheels like a school cafeteria!was a great idea and location, but the wrong people are running the show.
Walked and thought this place would be a lot nicer. This felt like a claustrophobic lunch room. Definitely needs to be improved this place has potential but def not the way it's set up. Took me 25 minutes in order to get the check to pay. Advice, This place looks like they ran out of money at the end. They need to definitely step it up a notch. Everyone hears each other and every one is elbow to elbow litterally. Hire more staff
If you asked me 4 months ago, 5 starts all around but unfortunately some things changed. Serving sizes became ridiculously small compared to how it used to be. I used to love taking my girlfriend here but last night we spent upwards of $180 and still went home hungry. The pizza tasted absolutely horrible (used to be my favorite dish). idk if they changed ownership or chef but the difference is light and day Update: We both got food poisoning.
First and foremost, I have lived in this area for over 10 years and have never felt alienated when dining in any of the neighborhood restaurants. This is the first time in a long time where I felt that my family and I were discriminated on while dining. While we didn't have a reservation, we felt that the host hesitated to sit us when there were multiple tables that were empty. The people dining inside wasn't the most diverse group and I felt that some were also quite skeptical on why we were there in the first place. The food was good but it does not justify for the price that we had to pay. We wanted to have a farewell dinner but I mostly felt uncomfortable and unwelcome and the only people who were nice to us was our waitress and the wait staff. I would not go back here and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. There's a lot more great places to explore around here, except for this one.
The food was unimaginative. The service was ok. They want you out of there as soon as possible, made for a rude dining experience.
Absolutely terrible experience. From the moment we arrived, we were seated right next to the entrance — cold, noisy, and completely uncomfortable. When we asked to change the table, the staff refused and showed zero flexibility or care. The service was rushed and indifferent, and the food? A complete disaster. I’ve felt nauseous the entire day after eating there — that says it all. Save yourself the trouble and eat literally anywhere else.
I walked into the restaurant with my girlfriend and we were told there was seating available on the top floor. When we got upstairs, they seated us at a table that was absolutely freezing. We were nowhere near the heaters, so we asked multiple times to switch tables. The staff told us we couldn’t move and that they couldn’t move the heaters closer. Meanwhile, people around us were literally moving their own tables closer to the heaters, and multiple families sat down, complained about the cold, and were moved within minutes — something we were told wasn’t an option. We didn’t get up and move ourselves because our pasta and salad had already been brought out, and we were trying to eat the food we already received. The pizza, however, took 45 minutes. Eventually the waiter told us they had given our pizza to the wrong table — and those people ate it — so we had to wait for them to make a new one while sitting in the freezing cold. When the manager came over, I calmly explained how poor the experience had been and asked if there was anything he could do to make it right. He told us the pizza was removed from the bill, but when I asked if he could offer a small discount or a dessert (which the waiter told us would be an option), he responded, “This is Bass & Bourbon,” as if the restaurant was above any criticism. He even accused me of going to restaurants and “doing this all the time,” which was incredibly unprofessional and completely untrue. They still charged us for the pasta and the salad, automatically added a tip to the bill, and then asked for an additional tip on top of that. As we walked out — frustrated, freezing, and honestly shocked — the manager told us to “have a nice day (sarcastically) and a nice life.” Overall, the food was mediocre at best, far below the standard of other “fancy” kosher dairy restaurants, and it ended up being the worst dining experience I’ve ever had — made even worse by a manager whose freezing attitude and inflated ego were honestly more unbearable than the cold table he refused to move us from.
