Best Mexican restaurant in Williamsburg. Great food, especially the guac, tacos, enchiladas, chilaquiles, the omelette, and the churros. Great margaritas (esp cucumber jalapeño) and happy hour - and brunch is so good. Very cute, outdoor seating, & kind staff. We love this spot!

My cousin visited New York and needed a quick bite. As I walk from the park to my daily routine, I always pass by this spot. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made. The guacamole was fresh and had just the right amount of spice. The food was delicious, and the waiter was incredibly attentive. I highly recommend this place and have already recommended it to my friends.

I rarely leave reviews anymore, but let me tell you I'm leaving one now. From start to finish my experience was Amazing!!!! I didn't grasp my server's name due to my hearing aids dying, but he was fantastic 👏 👌 🙌. I sat outside he had numerous tables and not one of them lacked great customer service, the food was amazing!!!! The atmosphere a vibe. I will be back again for sure looking for the gentleman who served me today at 5pm. Thank you again I truly appreciated.

A 10/10 Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home Casa Pública isn’t just our favorite restaurant in Greenpoint, it’s our favorite restaurant in all of New York City. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. The owner’s passion radiates in every detail, from the impeccable service to the vibrant, soulful food that never misses. Every dish feels personal, as if it was made just for you, with care and heart. There’s a warmth here that’s hard to describe. A mix of familiarity, hospitality, and genuine love for good food and good people. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger longer, order another round, and come back again and again. Casa Pública is a rare kind of special in our community. Ten out of ten, every single time.

3/22/24- review update: shout out to Tomas and Fernando coordinating and hosting my birthday dinner!! I love the special touch of my custom birthday menus they printed for me. They made the whole experience so enjoyable and I could not recommend this place enough for dinner and any kind of event!! Truly an amazing time, the best food and amazing vibes!! My utmost thanks!!! 2/15/25- We were able to be seated even though we did not have a reservation. The ambiance was really wonderful for a catch up with friends or even a date night. Highly recommend the steak! It was so tender on top of a bed of yuca fries.

My family and I went here for brunch today and were so happy with our experience. The staff was very friendly. The drinks were PERFECT, the food was delicious providing authentic Mexican flavor profiles. The tostadas were something I’d go back for every time alone. The overall atmosphere really made me feel immersed in the experience.

Absolutely wonderful place and staff. I misunderstood the menu and ordered a dish that contained meat. It was my mistake but the staff couldn’t have been nicer about it, brining my a new meat-free version…. Which was absolutely delicious. So tasty! Also the Pineapple margaritas are incredible Will be coming back here very often. Can’t recommend it enough!

Casa Publica in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is a fantastic Mexican restaurant and bar right by McCarren Park. Their evolving menu utilizes traditional Mexican home cooking techniques with dishes found in the markets of Puebla, Oaxaca, and Mexico City. We walked through the doors and opened the curtain revealing a big dining room in the front and back of the restaurant with designs influenced by Mexico City’s rich architectural history. Tina helped us with ordering this evening and she is super friendly and prompt which made feels feel like we’re at home. We were lucky to catch happy hour which is from Monday through Friday, 5-7pm. Salsa and guacamole is fresh which goes perfect with our margaritas and they were happy hour specials. The mushroom and chicken tacos are one of the best I’ve had which were also happy hour. If you like steak, then you must try their skirt steak. Tender and flavorful grilled to perfection over yuca fries with their chipotle mayo is sure to make your taste buds dance. Come for a drink. An awesome spot to grab quality Mexican food - very good for the price you pay. Came here on a Friday night for drinks and dinner and everything was delicious. The interior is beautiful and the waiting staff is very friendly. Came wait to come back - I’d highly recommend if you’re in the area!

I’ve been a repeat customer of this restaurant for quite some time and have often recommended it to friends, family, and community members, as a native Brooklynite. This past Saturday, I happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped by to quickly run to the bathroom. Upon entering, I politely asked a waiter with a beard where the bathroom was. His response was, “What about the bathroom?”, an unnecessarily rude and dismissive tone. I repeated that I was simply looking for the restroom, and he abruptly told me it was for customers only and I would not be allowed to use it. As someone with a chronic illness protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), I was experiencing an urgent medical need. I didn’t feel comfortable discussing the details in that moment, but the way I was treated, with suspicion and disrespect, was unacceptable. The staff made no effort to handle the situation with empathy or even basic courtesy. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can no longer support this establishment. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be advising my friends, family, and local community to take their business elsewhere. Kindness and respect should be the foundation of any customer interaction, especially for those who have supported a business repeatedly.
