Typical Starbucks, but diffentiated with much nicer, courteous professional well trained staff, always welcoming, remember my kids and my face, very comfortable and clean always
Starbucks — a little slice of heaven in the middle of a very busy NYC. When one walks into a starbucks, they are immediately surrounded by an aroma of freshly ground coffee beans, smelling warm and welcoming in contrast to the city odors outside. The drinks and food are even better than they smell, one bite and your whole word will spin around, eyes opening to a world of delicious food. Because that is what Starbucks is— not a restaurant— a lifestyle.
Not suuuuper crowded and fast service. Barista was quick to prepare my order and very polite
Perfect spot for morning coffee and reading a book. Employees were happy friendly and there was one who knew customer names are they must of established a relationship giving the area is full of families. I had a nice visit and the coffee was perfect
This has got to be one of the best Starbucks I've been to. It's clean, the environment is cozy and warm, and the bathroom is well kept. The workers are happy and hardworking!
Perfect place for a morning coffee and a book. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a lovely visit, and the coffee was perfect.
The only reason I like coming to this branch is because of one of the cashier/baristas… I forgot to ask his name but he calls the patrons “friend” and I absolutely love that. In a world with anxiety and natural lack of trust, he’s just a breathe of fresh air and deserves a raise!!! lol — atmosphere is your typical Starbucks and food is generic microwaveable snacks.
The staff was so friendly and chill. The bathrooms were very clean. Loved the environment. Would return. 10/10
True diner -Wonderful typical predictable ambience made me feel at good me right away. Food and service and all else (restrooms) exceeded expectations ! Ate there twice in 2 days with adult family while in Brooklyn. Sausage links are savory and delious with a fine and dense texture better than any I've had. Possibly made there? Pancakes were great. Roasted potatoes and a sausage could be a meal on its own. Eggs perfectly cooked. Mirrors on wall by booth makes a great family picture ! Lattes, cappuccinos, earl grey tea - we left fully satisfied. 8-9 am special is $15.50 including superb OJ. I could not finish it all. You should go!
Heard about this place from a leasing agent. Great suggestion. Who doesn’t like a diner, when visiting a city? I recommend making a reservation, it’s not an ihop. We didn’t have a reservation but ended up being seated rather quickly. All the things you are expecting to find on a diner menu. Oh! They also have GF pancakes & waffles. I had the Greek omelette. Omelette was fluffy and plentiful. My breakfast came with a yummy side salad. Our attendant was Jess, and she was super friendly. Coffee was good and they kept our cups filled. The diner is also located in a lovely neighborhood.
An all around timeless and elevated diner experience! Most diners are such nostalgic and comforting places to hang out in that we’re all willing to put up with their 18 pages of mediocre food. But what if you could have it all?! Enter…the Montague Diner! The space is very tastefully designed while not feeling at all pretentious. The food was all super fresh and delicious. (I split a blueberry pancake and the grain bowl with a friend.) And the staff were all incredibly friendly and on top of it. This is the kind of restaurant I’m always looking for.
I love this spot :) It has that cozy neighborhood feel but with a warm, welcoming energy that makes you want to stay a while. The food is classic diner comfort with a fresh, thoughtful twist, everything tastes made with care and real food. The mozzarella sticks are a must! There can be a bit of a wait during peak hours, but the area is great for a short walk while you wait for your table. I’ve been here more than a couple of times and it’s easily become one of my go to neighborhood favorites.
I recently visited this classic diner, and overall, it was an interesting experience. The highlight of the evening was the British host, who was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. It appeared that he was managing several roles at once—hosting, serving, and even running food—and he did so with genuine kindness and professionalism. Upon arrival, we were informed it was trivia night, and he thoughtfully seated us away from the game since we preferred not to participate. His attentiveness continued throughout the evening, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. While our server seemed a bit distracted and missed my food order, the host immediately noticed, stepped in, and resolved the issue quickly and with great care. Thanks to him, what could have been a frustrating experience was handled smoothly. The host truly stood out for his professionalism and kindness, and he deserves recognition for his efforts. Also, I’d love to see the adult portion of chicken tenders return to the menu.
Is this restaurant run by Williamsburg bros? Yes, absolutely, you can hear them snap the tags off their carhartt WIPs before they step into the kitchen. The food pricing matches the early-gentrification energy of the guy who tells you he lives in “south Williamsburg”. Ride or die though, no businesses should wither on Montague street. 5 stars.
Cute small Starbucks. Not much room for working, but there were still some people trying. The decor is really cute and Brooklyn at this location. Great spot to run in and grab a coffee and continue your local shopping.
We had a Pumpkin Frappuchino and Chestnut Frappuchino with no ☕ coffee. The person who made the Chestnut 🌰Frappuchino, needed to put more Chestnut flavor. This location is clean - staff is ok
I had a great experience here! The staff were friendly and attentive - both the host and the servers made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The steak was absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked and seasoned. The only small hiccup was that we ordered over-easy eggs but received them hard instead. Other than that, everything else was spot on. I'd definitely come back for the steak again!
This is a very nice local upscale diner. It is more than a greasy spoon and is a nice place for families and friends for all meals. They have quite a few vegetarian options as well as classic sandwiches and burgers. The staff are really nice but maybe they're understaffed. It can be hard to get their attention, so I'd say the service is only OK overall, though the servers themselves are nice. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Came here with a friend the other day. I got a rootbeer float, and we also got mozzarella sticks, a tuna melt, and some pancakes. The food was all delicious and the service was good. The prices are a little ridiculous for diner food, no matter how good - the mozzarella sticks alone were $15. With tip we ended up spending $75 for just us two, which is what we usually spend going out to a mid-tier restaurant, so spending it at a diner was kinda crazy. The food was definitely yummy but honestly we probably won't be back because of the price.
Looks the part, but service was slow and every item of food was cold; spinach and artichoke dip served in a coffee mug could have worked had it clearly not been microwaved…Grilled cheese main, cheese was not even melted….Hot n Sweet Chicken Wrap was essentially a pre cooked (cold) tender tossed in sauce in an inadequate wrap…Genuinely couldn’t care less about any type of refund or making a scene, but the fact that all three dishes were collected with 2/3rds of the food still on the plate without any type of question or concern says it all….Really wanted to like this place but it very much felt like style over substance….
Atmosphere was great. Host was friendly. Classic diner feel. Service was as expected . Nothing over the top. Dined in solo on a burst Tuesday afternoon around 1:15pm . Place was packed . Was able to snag a seat at the counter . Ordered the Roscoe style pancakes . Nothing impressive. Just 2 large pancakes with a side of whipped cream , Nutella , syrup and small refrigerated butter packets . Pancakes cost $19 . Got sausage on the side . $7 for 3 links is pretty outrageous, but I get it , it’s 2025 and Yiu gotta mark it up due to overhead , rent , location, etc. Total after tax for 2 pancakes and 3 sausage links : $28.31 . After tip , $35 USD total. Nothing special about the pancakes . They are just wide . Nothing special about the toppings either . Maybe whip the butter next time , serve it room temperature. Pretty mid spot.
This was my second time at Montague diner, and wanted to give it a second try before reviewing. It's the kind of place you really, really want to like and the aesthetics, decor an atmosphere are on point. The service also remained friendly and improved since the first visit. The food however, is where things go south. I got the two eggs with meat and potatoes, and generally, you can taste the lack of love in the making of this food (bland, flavorless eggs, and hard, impossible to eat bacon, etc.). Perhaps it's a matter of ordering the right thing, but, coupled with the high prices, it's a no go. Unfortunately, it is not an option I'd recommend to anyone looking for an authentic diner experience that includes tasty food made with care and love. If you want a trendy place with a great vibe and serviceable food, then this is your spot.
This place is so confusing. They changed their prices up a bit but the food isn’t as great. Definitely changed their thick cut bacon to cheaper. One piece of toast versus two and no more French butter. Cutting corners is so weird and making people buy a meat now instead of having the breakfast just with eggs, potatoes, and toast. Waitress never visited our table after taking our order. A different sever brought our food. She literally took our order and brought the check. I’ve complained about service before and at this point it just seems to be their stance and not gonna get better. Hostess was kind.
Nice Busy atmosphere drinks Superb only Big Issue with me the constant of smelly dogs coming in and shaking the freeze of its fur its so gross!!!
This place at 134 Montague St in Brooklyn was a huge disappointment. From the moment I arrived, nothing felt welcoming or well run. The staff seemed uninterested and slow to respond to basic requests. Cleanliness was clearly not a priority, with surfaces looking neglected. The atmosphere was loud and uncomfortable, making it hard to relax. Prices felt high for what you actually get here. Simple issues took far too long to fix, which wasted a lot of time. Communication was poor and left me confused about what was going on. I expected a better experience given the location, but that never happened. Nothing about this visit justified coming back. I would not recommend this address to friends or visitors. One star is generous for how frustrating the overall experience was.
After daily Starbucks visits since before joining Rewards in 2012, & since then, I stopped coming during the "lockdown" stupidity, & returned when it was announced that the "condiments Bar" was returning... The thing that made Starbucks better to me was the ability to make my coffee to my taste... That is why I find it a problem that the coffee creamers are removed from customer access often before 6:00 PM in a store that is open until 9:00 PM every day... Other Starbucks in the vicinity have the creamers out until past 8:00 PM when I pass by; but, do not have seating, or public restrooms... I would like to return to daily visits; but, want to be able to lighten my Dark roast to my taste with my own hands, without having to request the right amount of creamer... Other than this I am quite happy with this Brooklyn Heights Starbucks store... Supervisor Akeem is very nice & keeps the creamers out latter; but, I have not seen him there lately... Thank you for your attention to this matter...
Very frustrated with this store. Staff are disinterested to the point of rudeness. I went in to order an iced coffee and left without my order after waiting 5 minutes, watching the staff make about 15 pre ordered drinks. It was like going to an assembly line, watching people assemble drinks, and then watching people slowly drift in to pick up their drinks. staff had no awareness that I was waiting for a simple drink. there are 4 other places on the block to get an iced coffee, so last time I ever come here! but this brand has lost it's luster for sure. it should just become a remote delivery coffee shop.
There was a lady with many pins on her cap. She seemed unwilling to serve us and was disrespectful. I had ordered five drinks and she was busy, so I went to grab a tray on my own when she glared at me and informed me that she didn’t “like it when I did that”. Her attitude was also just dismissive in general up until that point. She also didn’t give enough straws for the drinks and they forgot one of our drinks. The drinks were good though and the other baristas were kind.
definitely there is a problem from the manager servicing different people, terrible experience…making drama just because I wanted to make sure they understood my order… it is ok, I will buy from local shops…
I’m really frustrated and upset with this Starbucks. I went to pick up my online order and asked a staff member named Chloe if she had a cover for my coffee to keep it warm. She didn't respond at first, so I had to ask her three times before she replied with an attitude. Her behavior was rude, unprofessional, and felt discriminatory. I don’t understand why this place hires staff like her. It’s been an ongoing issue, and it’s very disappointing. I really dislike coming here. Please address this situation promptly, as I cannot recommend this location to anyone.
While picking up my stuff at Starbucks on 134 Madonna St., a coworker unexpectedly began yelling and screaming at me over my coffee. This behavior was completely unacceptable and outrageous. I've never experienced such cursing and unprofessional conduct. The staff seemed extremely unprofessional and even exhibited racist behavior. Shocked by the customer service, I called the store to speak with a manager, only to be insulted and yelled at again. Such behavior is unprofessional and disgraceful. I would not recommend this store due to its lack of customer service and believe that the employees, including the managers, need to be replaced.
My wife told me she was at this location today and had a real bad experience due to one of the employees who took her order was been really unprofessional and rude. I mean, seriously Starbucks charging customers to add milk or cream to their coffee? And they charging ppl for carry out bags? Or is it just for THIS location only? If you don’t feel like serving your customers, my advice is, STAY home!
Last night I asked for oat milk and the barista said yea with a sarcastic tone. The other barista was a young boy trying to give me life advice in the middle of me trying to focus on my company meeting out of nowhere. This is not what I expect from my neighborhood cafe.
