Everything we ordered was delicious and the employees were very friendly. Parmesan crème brulee is not to be missed, and the papardelle & pesto are also great choices
Had a great time eating here. This was our second visit and the service is always top tier. The pasta is very fresh and tastes excellent. The guy waiter with the ponytail is awesome, he recommended the tiramisu without missing a beat and lemme tell you - the man was right on the money. It’s a knock out of the park. The vibe & aesthetic of their outside seating is also quite enjoyable as well.
Provini is a secret little gem of a neighborhood restaurant tucked into an especially quiet, leafy corner of Park Slope. The interior is cozy and relaxed, with around 10 tables, a few bar seats, and a few sidewalk tables. The staff and food are always on point. We had the gnocchi on the menu and the calabrian chili gnocchi special and both were fantastic. This is a perfect place for just a casual dinner with friends or a date or anything in between.
I saved this place as my favorites in the beginning, the food is actually really great, at least from what I and my girlfriends have tried. But when they brought us our check, the excitement went down. First of all they are including tips already to the bill, I mean we were party of three, why would you do this? I understand it’s necessary in the USA, and still tips is tips, there’s no law on it and it should be on the customers direction, shouldn’t it? Not like additional mandatory charge of 22% (22%??) Again I understand it would be a party of 8 or more people, but to include into the bill of everyone is kinda lame. And then 22%? What made you guys think we would want to leave 22%? 20% is standard for all the restaurants, in Europe it’s way less and the food and service is often way better (especially the food). I do not agree to be imposed to pay 22% especially when I don’t think I want to leave that much (for the wine that both me and girlfriend had to wait and to remind waiters to bring us, several times, as an excuse example). And even more, on top of that, you guys are counting tips of 22% from the amount that’s already with the tax?? This smells like a deceit to me, I’m sorry I don’t like when places do that. The tips should be calculated off the pretax money. I don’t like to be cheated upon in restaurants. So even though the food (what we ate) was really great, not sure I will go there again and have unhighlighted from my favorites places, I don’t like when the people and places force me to pay more by overstating the amount due. As an update thank you for settling the bill, I understand there was an error, next time I will try to settle the issue at the restaurant before writing frustrating review, apologies in my return for overreacting. I still stand by my statement that the food was great.
I love Provini, it’s consistently one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I make an effort to eat there despite not living in the neighborhood. It’s a great local spot, chill enough that you can bring your kids for weekend brunch, but classy enough that you can go for a fancy cocktail with your girlfriends at night. The vibe is old New York, I haven’t had a bad thing on the menu, and the servers and bartenders are so lovely and take such good care of you. Must-haves dishes are the Parmesan Crème Brûlée (trust me, this will awaken something in you), the Siciliana salad, and the Lasagna, but I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. For cocktails, you can’t go wrong with the Provini spritz, and for a fun and unique take on the espresso martini try the Espresso Yourself. My personal favorite is the Negrini Sbagliato. If you’re seeing a movie at Nighthawk Prospect Park, make some time to stop by Provini before or after!
We sat outside and I had the gnudi. Provini felt casual and friendly and the food was quite good. They can't serve alcohol beyond wine and beer because they are near a school, but the wine selection is good. This place specializes in pasta, which they executed very well. Also recommend the parmesan crème brûlée.
Always delicious food and exceedingly nice service. Favorites include salmon tartar, Sicilian salad and it is one if the few places that makes really excellent Bolognese sauce and also terrific lasagna. Wines are consistently very good a d reasonably priced. A neighborhood gem!
My son recommended this restaurant. Came here as a family. It was great. Wonderful atmosphere, great staff. The menu was interesting. We all had pastas. I ordered a tagliatelle bolognese which excellent. The gnocchi was also very good. Nice wine list and reasonably priced. The tiramisu was shared by 4 of us and was wonderful. They did not rush the meal even though they were busy. Highly recommended.
The food was absolutely spectacular! The staff was attentive and friendly too, it was just really nice overall. I attended a birthday dinner, and I've never had some of the things that were on the menu. I got to try other dishes as well as my own, and it was all just amazing. The gnocchi al funghi is... Wow, like, very well balanced, and I loved every single bite of it. If I ever have a lot of money, I'd come back here in a heartbeat to enjoy it again. I really recommend the tiramisu as a dessert, as well. The texture and flavor are just so yummy. It's possibly the best I've ever had.
This little restaurant is a real gem in the neighborhood serving Italian fare and brunch. The Provini Spritz cocktail 🍹 is a must have for brunch. The Burrata with pesto grape tomatoes and sour dough is a great starter to share. The cavatelli with broccoli rabe, garlic, and almonds was cooked perfectly al dente and delicious. The salsiccia panini with pork sausage was also great. If you’re not in the mood for Italian there’s also traditional brunch menu with delicious pancakes 🥞. The atmosphere is very nice. Whether inside or outdoor, seating is pleasant. Highly recommended 👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
absolutely delicious spot would highly recommend. the flavors of the dishes were so unique and really does Italian food justice, not any typical Italian joint here. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND bufalina which is the buffalo mozz prosciutto artichoke, and the cavatelli which is the broccoli rave pesto pasta with toasted almonds. we also had the gnocchi and paparadelle but the special came out i think anyway highly recommend
We had passed Provini for months before finally coming in… I’m so glad we finally did. We came on a weeknight and sat at the bar, though there were tables open too. They have a great outdoor seating space set up as well. The bartender was so nice and friendly and guided me through which wine to order as I was torn between a few (the pours were also healthy which was a plus). For food we ordered the parmesan creme brûlée, a salad, and the bolognese. The creme brûlée and bolognese were specifically fantastic. Can’t wait to return.
If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal in the neighborhood, look no further than Provini! As a local resident, I've had the pleasure of dining at this establishment several times, and I have yet to be disappointed. Their friendly staff itself is a great reason to be there. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. And let's not forget about the food! Their menu boasts a variety of classic Italian dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. One standout dish that I can't get enough of is their homemade pasta. It's perfectly cooked and has a wonderfully chewy texture that pairs perfectly with their rich, flavorful sauces. But it's not just the main courses that are noteworthy. Their appetizers and desserts are also top-notch. The bruschetta is a personal favorite of mine, and the tiramisu is simply divine. Overall, I highly recommend giving Provini a try. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night spot or a casual dinner with friends, this place is sure to please. And with reasonable prices, you won't have to break the bank to enjoy a fantastic meal 😍 enjoy and have a wonderful time 🍷😁🍝❤️ what more? Oh yes I also like their decoration, a true Brooklyn style classic NYC setting in a great neighborhood
Been to Provini a couple of times now. Most recently for brunch and it’s always a really solid meal with attentive service! For brunch we got the uovo Al forno, a carbona, and their take on a Benedict. Everything was fantastic (who doesn’t love a breakfast pasta and an americano…) The carbonara was delicious with ample amounts of ham, and the uovo had hefty portions of perfectly Al denté asparagus. The breakfast potatoes weren’t anything to write home about but all in all this place is a gem tucked away close to the south side of the park.
Great and small Italian Restaurant. We went there on a Saturday afternoon with 7 people. Super welcoming and kind employees. Starters were delicious, especially the burrata!!! 4 people had PAPPARDELLE AL FUNGHI and they LOVED IT. Even i had a chance to taste it and it’s their best!! Cavatelli was good but it was greasy at the end. I’m highly recommending this place!! The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in a small restaurant in Italy🇮🇹!!
There are a lot of Italian restaurants in Park Slope: Pasta Louise, Piccoli...so the competition is pretty tough, but Provini holds its own! The service was really nice. Staff was friendly and everything moved at a good pace. The pasta was solid. Nothing mind-blowing but definitely well made and satisfying. I absolutely lost my mind over the the parmesan crème brûlée. Total highlight—really unique and delicious!!! The kale salad wasn’t great. The texture was rough and it tasted pretty bitter with no other flavors shining through. Probably wouldn’t order that again. Overall, Provini is a good option in the area. Not a standout across the board, but worth checking out, especially for the service and that crème brûlée.
