My husband and I came for an anniversary brunch date, and it was delicious! Enjoyed Cajun eggs benedict with a side of potatoes, very savory and made perfectly. I also tried this spiked Irish cream coffee drink that was warm and yummy. Hubs loved his biscuits and gravy—so good! Service was cozy and quick, but we never felt rushed. We’ll definitely be back soon!

It’s a very nice place right on the main road. Parking is not great but it was worth it. We went on a Friday night, it was busy evening. Our waitress was very nice and chimed in with my friend and I conversation it was great. Everything we got was great, caesar salad, red beans and rice, veggie tacos, blackened catfish It was all great and was brought out in a decent time. The fruit tart was a nice dessert at the end, not too sweet just enough. Definitely recommend this place, it’s a nice atmosphere and great food. The drinks I saw looked great as well!

Stopped by Brooklyn’s Down South and sat at the bar. The staff were attentive and friendly, which made for a pleasant experience. The food was good, but not great…solid overall, just didn’t quite stand out. Worth a visit if you’re nearby, especially for the service at the bar.

We recently visited Brooklyn's Down South on Main Street in Buda, and it was a decent experience. The Chicken & Waffles stood out—the waffles were unexpectedly green, adding a unique twist, and the chicken pieces were massive, juicy, and packed with flavor. My husband tried the omelet, which, although slightly smaller than anticipated, was delicious and satisfying. We also indulged in a cocktail that was exceptional. I believe it was the Grapefruit Habanero Margarita. The coffee was rich and flavorful, though I found it a bit inconvenient that only two creamers were provided. Even when we requested more, they never came, nor did we get more coffee. A small detail, but worth noting. Overall, Brooklyn's Down South offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience and we do look forward to returning!

We enjoyed our dinner there and would happily go back. It probably says more about our current economy than the restaurant, but it is a bit pricey for what you get. That said the service was great: the server was very attentive and friendly (all the staff we enjoyed were really upbeat and friendly). We had shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, gumbo, alligator tail nuggets, and the crab stuffed avocado. We liked everything, especially the shrimp and grits and gumbo. (The alligator was tough and chewy, though). We definitely recommend folks to try em out!

While the menu is interesting, I've had pretty much hit or miss experiences here. My most recent visit was on a Saturday morning and I was glad to not have to wait. I ordered a unique sounding eggs Benedict and while the sauce was flavorful, the poached eggs were overcooked. They don't offer anything but drip coffee but it was so bad, I sent it back and went with water. The music at 10 in the morning was screeching and when I asked to turn it down, they turned it off the TV blared instead. The server was good.

My partner and I went out for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our dishes. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, blackened salmon, and two sides—mashed potatoes and spicy Brussels sprouts. Our server was friendly, but didn’t exceed our expectations in terms of communication. She didn’t offer sufficient information about the desserts. In the end, we got a seasonal pie, which turned out to be a chocolate mousse. It was just okay overall.

They have everything on the menu to make VEGAN entrees but they wanna make you order ala carte for some vegan sausage. Like make a meal, train your chefs to make a vegan dish. Like we can watch cooking videos online in 2026, do better you're almost there. Again vegetarians can eat vegan, vegans cannot eat vegetarian.

We came in with high hopes. The menu offered plenty of classic staples, and the drink selection was impressive, great for anyone looking for more than just a margarita. The food was good for the price, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the experience was brought down by the bartenders and hostess, whose “too good to be here” attitude really killed the vibe. When you’re serving Deep South dishes, you’d expect that same warmth and hospitality to come through in the service. Thankfully, our waitress did her best to make up for it.

First trip to Buda Texas. Cute little town. Food was mediocre for myself, I had the lobster bisque. My wife was favorable for her blackened salmon. My daughter had a mini burger and salad. Salad looked amazing. She really enjoyed her food. She gave positive reviews. Not bad all together but for the price, it was just too much. Adding an extra charge here and there and doing everything al a cart is fine BUT improved quality for the price. Service was great. Kitchen is open for view… I would focus on appearance of cleanliness with a visible kitchen. Didn’t look horrible but floor was a little worrisome. I hope my suggestions and opinions help your establishment. I feel you could make a couple adjustments to push you to great.

Went in with really high hopes the pictures online looked scrumptious. Getting inside there was a 15min wait not at all a problem. Once seated our waiter took a while to get us water and to take our order. It was busy but I watched him accommodate everyone else first then us. Ordered my burger medium and got it well well done. The burger had no flavor it tasted just like meat. I heavily relied on the toppings for Flavor with not so much luck. Same thing with the chicken fried steak. And the bisque soup was not good. Overall my family and I felt we were not taken care of because of the way we were dressed we went out for errands and decided to stop and eat. We asked for refills and the waiter would do everything else till we started asking others for water. I don't think we will be returning.

Based on the reviews, we thought why not? Probably because we didn’t want waste $95 and leave hungry! When we sat down, we quickly had a friendly waitress that answered all our questions so we were optimistic at that point! However, we saw her 4 times after that 1) to take our order, 2) we got her attention to ask for butter, 3) we asked for tea, and 4) she brought the check. Oh five! She returned quickly after we put cash down to ask if we needed change and when we said no thank you, she said thank you and left. Not my definition of service, but she was friendly and professional so that’s almost 2 stars, right? The food was a disappointment. The fried green tomatoes I couldn’t even eat a a half of one. The waitress had explained they were pickled which we like but the ranch and the remoulade were not good at all to pair with when cold. Hush puppies - so dry I asked for butter which still didn’t make them edible. I could not even eat half of one. We were glad they offered smaller portion dinner entrees - a smaller protein and two side dishes. My chicken was good, dry but not bad, and my husband’s chicken fried steak was not good but ok. When you go out, you want flavorful and delicious though… not “ok.” The sides were bad though - grits, and I love grits, had the consistency of sand and even butter, couldn’t help make them creamy. Slaw was not vinegary or sweet but like watery cabbage. Spinach- another of my all time faves, had so much garlic I couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites. Plus it was sweet!?!? Mashed potatoes - bland and lukewarm. The red beans and rice, in their defense, were flavorful! But the hard rice made it not enjoyable so we took that home to try to reheat and soften rice. The red beans were pretty good actually once we finished cooking them which brings up food to 2 stars :) Finally, with 2 “small” plates of smaller chicken breast and smaller chicken fried steak each with 2 sides, 4 hush puppies, half order (6) fried green tomatoes, 2 extra side dishes of spinach and slaw, and 2 iced teas, totaled $82 and we left a $13 tip… right at $95 and some change and we left hungry. Unfortunately, not tasty and needing to bring food home to cook it after paying $95 for 2 people is really not enjoyable. Plus we left hungry!

3 burgers ordered. All three were undercooked. I ordered the Patty Melt. One patty was cooked to medium, the other was cooked medium on half and well done on the other half. It was very clearly not made in-house weird, pressed texture like frozen patties from the grocery store, and it tasted bad. I can't even describe it. My 2 friends ordered the 197 Burger. These burgers looked good on the outside, looked like they were made in-house. However, one was cooked medium despite being ordered well-done, the other was mecium-rare despite also being ordered well-done. This was my first time here, I won't be going back. If a place that sells burgers cooks all three burgers in an order wrong, then there's a problem.
