First time having one of there subs "beef in the hood" best sub ive had in years and will be back

By FAR the (Best Food) as far that we have tried throughout Ohio. Myself and my Family were well Pleased and Filled with there Delioues Dishes.

Honestly their steak tacos are bomb and very inexpensive. The guy even brought me my food rather than calling me up to the counter when he was all done making it. Even put napkins in the bundle...yummy steak forreal

Listen... My steak hoagie was SOOOOOO good OKAY?!!! I don't even do reviews but when I saw the prompts I just had to because I know it's hard to find a good one. I ordered mine with onion, jalapeno peppers, pepper jack cheese, mayo and hoagie sauce and it was EVERYTHING!!!! Definitely give them a try you won't be disappointed. My sister also had they're BBQ wings with fries and it was good also.

I have been searching for a sub that crunches when you bite into for the longest time. They did not disappoint when I asked for extra toasted. I loved that they didn't cut the 8" roll on half as well. I definitely will return to try more varieties.

I used to visit this place back in 2001 when I was a UB student. I moved away and came back to the area and wanted to see if the taste was the same. It didn't taste the same, however, it was great. My husband said it tasted better than Jim's Steak Out. I'll gladly detour from my trip from Toronto, Ontario to Rochester NY again for some Steak hoagies from Mike's. I brought my cousin from Puerto Rico to eat after a long trip, and she cried internally at how delicious this was.

Absolutely delicious! I love the bbq sauce too. Also if you never had a chop burger from here or in general please get one to try you will not be disappointed it's the best around.

Ordered a taco salad from them for the first time and an assorted sub. The taco salad was awesome! In a taco shell with taco chips in a bag on the side which I appreciated! Nice size and perfect seasoning not to spicy. They also included the salsa and sour cream on the side. The containers were rather small with barely any condiments in there but I survived, they could be bigger IMO though. Also my husband ordered an Assorted sub which he inhaled and said was delicious! Will definitely order from here again. Overall great experience and GrubHub driver was actually early for once. Everything was hot and fresh

My mom is the pickiest eater I know. I took her to Mike's and the steak hoagie was so good, she ordered another 1 for the road! What I love most about Mike's is they're not stingy with the meat/toppings. I'll forever support this spot

I wish I could give 50 stars. The food were great and the place was comfy, and the workers there are the jewels. Honestly, it was one of my worst day in these years when I went there. I was hungry, sleepy, extremely sad, and unimaginably disappointed about myself. I just went out of home to chill out. First chose another place but it did not have a place to seat. So, I ended up here. The owner was extremely friendly, the food is tasty but those people are the best aspect of this place. I am not sure how it happened but I felt much better after my food. I hope everyone just goes to this place for their good food and in their best mood ;but if one day you feel bad about yourself, go there I hope they help you too. Thanks Mike.

Good food and great service at reasonable prices. This is an urban-type sub shop with excellent dishes and sandwiches. I like that they also offer delivery through Skip The Dishes, which is great for when I have an urge for them, but can't make it there to pick up an order!

The Steak in the Hood was one of the best tasting subs I have ever had! I am looking forward to the next time I am working in that area, I WILL be going back. Jim's Steak Out has NOTHING on Mike's. Not to mention the owner and staff were awesome! So friendly it felt like home!

Prices are reasonable and food is good. However I ordered wings and wanted them extra crispy and they were soggy. The garlic bread with cheese was really good though.

I give 4stars because it's tenure in the hood. Apparently a black owned and operated business has a steak as such in da Hood. Oh the food, employees are top notch too. Good job Mike

It's been awhile since I had a good steak sandwich, and I haven't been to Mike's in years, so I decided to hed back. Actually, the last couple of times I was there I was ordering from the African side of the menu, which is no longer available, I think. The steak sandwich was cool, but the bar has been set so high in Buffalo. If you've had Scotty's, then Rick's, then the original Shy's, then you know a good steak sandwich. I would probably get it again because it's an option in the neighborhood, but it's not something I will crave. The bread was super fresh though, which is the start of a good sandwich. I'll be back to try the wings, and to see what else I can get so I can start supporting them again. The fries were on the weak side though, which is becoming the norm so I won't hold it against them in the review. These type of fries shouldn't be bagged right away, because the steam takes away any crispiness they had. SO OVERALL, the steak sandwich wasn't the best, but it definitely wasn't the worse! I WILL GO BACK. The food was ready when promised, and the ingredients were fresh, which counts as well.

Ate at this place for the first time in over 10 years. I used to love the Philly cheesesteak, I thought this time it was good but not as flavorful as it was in the past, in addition it had quite a few pieces of gristle that were not edible. The wings which were recommended as delicious were the biggest letdown, very little flavor, not crispy and last but not least in my opinion do one thing well and do not b like the rest. I ordered cheese fries which tasted awful. There was mist likely melted American cheese in them which caused the fries to clump together . The cheese was only on a few fries and they were not crunchy at all. The value was very good as it was around $25 dollars for the cheesesteak, fries and chicken wings. It can’t be comparable if the food does not meet your expectations. Keep making cheesesteaks and forego fries.

I had got their stinger sub yummy, and their wings with parm and lemon pepper. Also a side of onion rings. The onion rings taste frozen but certainly eatable. The parm wings I got were flavorless but very crispy and meaty. The lemon pepper is very salty but another good set of wings. The sub is the star of the show, so id say overall a great sub joint with other stuff on the side. My review.

Can never patronize a place that never answers the phone. Called for over 40 minutes to place an order before giving up. Nobody wants to sit and wait when you should be able to order by phone. Called on a normal Friday night when they are advertised as open. Can never get through.

I called to order a steak sub, I heard very great things about them! Unfortunately, due to me asking questions pertaining to the sub because I have never order from them I was asked “Why are you asking all these questions for? Do you plan to order or something?” My response was: I was but that question was very unprofessional and they hung the phone up! Highly unprofessional and just a potential customer.

Dont be on Grubhub if you're not open. DO NOT BE ON GRUBHUB if YOUR NOT OPEN!!!. Really tied of this BS. Half the time you order something on Grubhub, it gets cancelled. Since Grubhub doesnt allow reviews unless its specifically delivered, the people will make their voice heard. Tired of this false dam advertising.

They did ne wrong with my Steak Sub on 03/4/2022 I haven't been here in over 15 years and my steak well large steak sub was dry not enough cheese and meat was not full and no sauce hardly I'm so disappointed, I even called to complain the li day said yup we weigh the meat and you get two slices of cheese but the meat was skimp and when I got the sub I notice it was very light weight but I said ok gonna give it a try , never again
