Samba music playing in the restaurant sets the fun vibe upon entering. The restaurant has two bars, indoor seating, and two lovely patio settings. We sat on the patio and shared the coconut shrimp in sweet chile sauce, fried goat cheese salad, and "fall off the bone" superb Korean BBQ rack of ribs. All the dishes we ordered were exceptionally good and plenty for the two of us to share. Shout out to Nick and all the others for exemplary service.

What can I say? Its almost perfect. Their poo-poo platter is excellent and you cant beat the craft cocktails! Excellent exceptional service!

Romantic restaurant with a large outdoor patio area for dining. The swings is very nice and you will be surrounded by palm trees the the garden, and they have misters in the summer and heat lamps for the winters. The appetizers and the main dishes were all great. The portions are huge. It is a little pricey but the food is all good.

An incredible meal out with colleagues. Our server was Josh and he was very good. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Prime Flat Iron Steak. Both items were very good. The steak comes with a baked potato with horseradish dressing. That will open your sinuses up completely. I could have used a little less horseradish but otherwise everything was seasoned perfectly.

We were so happy with the service and food. Their fried chicken and spaghetti with meatballs felt like comfort food. Great flavors coming together with great atmosphere.

Visited for lunch, and dined inside. Fun place to visit. Had the shrimp tacos, steak with truffle fries, goat cheese and avocado pizza, and gyro with onion rings. Everything was great. Shrimp tacos were great but really hard to eat. They had a lot of shrimp and we're bursting at the seams. Saw lots of beautiful cocktails go by but we were not drinking. Definitely a place to add to your to-do list while in palm springs!

This one of a kind place has the most unique and tasty food and the best drinks in Palm Springs. A very diverse cliental that is representative of Palm Springs a great Village style town in the Desert. The entertainment on Tuesdays with the Derrik Lewis Duo and Trio is like no other in town playing the "Great American Songbook". Very Upscale with the most friendly wait staff and delightful hands on owners Tony and Ranz. I really enjoyed my latest visit and it was great to see so many friends there.

It was such an amazing and fun time during the dinner. We loved the food and also the environment! The outside dinning is actually really nice and sweet (even though it’s 110F outside, the restaurant did such a good job to keep the temperature cool in the back) And our server Krissa is soooooo sweet and professional!! Definitely would recommend this place to my friends!

First I was skeptical entering the place, because the street was very dark and you can’t see much behind the wall, but the experience was great. The service was top notch, tasty food, great cocktails and ambience just right to make you feel like you are in an old good Palm Springs. There were two of us and we shared a pupu plate and a salad, that was enough. Salted citrus martini was spectacularly good!! Would be great for romantic eve or a friends night out.

This place is amazing! The food was delicious! Drinks were perfect. That crispy goat cheese beet salad was uh mazing. Service was great. Even during New Years Eve and packed they were fast and the food was perfect. This might be the new jam!

Came for my BFF's birthday🎉 This place was really great, the food was amazing and the service from Brandi was great and very friendly. We were sat outside on the patio with the misters and slight breeze. We shared the maple chicken flat bread and had strawberry Margaritas. The menu changes for dinner and it looks like the ambiance is beautiful and romantic. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Aqua Caliente casino is right across the street.

One of our favorite restaurants in the entire Coachella Valley. The patio is like a little Tropical Oasis, the service is great and the small plate meals provide multiple taste sensations with every bite being perfect. Although it's only been open for about 14 years, it has the atmosphere of an iconic Palm Springs institution.

I had the best group dining experience at this spot. It was recommended as a must have in Palm Springs and they did not dissapoint. The waitstaff was soooo attentive. Always refilling our waters and drinks. The food was AMAZING. The waiters were super sweet gentlemen. The ambience in the restaurant and the music was amazing. 10/10 would recomend.

We had a party of 14 celebrating a birthday & bachelorette trip. The atmosphere was comfy and lively but not loud or noisy. Our waitress was Karissa and she was so attentive, accommodating and sweet. She made sure everyone was taken care of and all menu questions were answered. The menu has such a spectrum of tastes to choose from which helps cater to everyone. The drinks were delicious; especially the espresso martinis which is usually a hit or miss for me. Karissa made the bride to be and birthday girl feel so loved and appreciated. Wonderful night! I will definitely come back when I’m back in town! Thank you again Karissa!!!

O M G!!! Made 11am reservations for my bf’s bday brunch, just the two of us. Got here in an Uber at 10:40am and a woman with crystal necklaces opened the door and greeted us. Once we told her the name for the reservation she wished us a happy birthday (I put it in the notes). They sat us outside (we requested outdoor) by a fountain so we could watch the birds (OMG so cute! A real highlight for us). We were served blueberry coffee cake (SO GOOD WOWWW). We got bottomless and Damon, our AMAZING, server, recommended which wine was sweeter/more dry which was perfect for my bf and I. Food was AMAZING!!! We never saw the bottom of our bottomless mimosas. They even brought us a little cheesecake with strawberries for my bf’s bday with a little candle, no singing which he was very grateful for. Wish I made dinner reservations here for tonight!!!

A couple of out of town Texans looking to get the full Palm Spring experience. This restaurant deserves a strong 5 star rating from service, to their fantastic drinks, amazing dinner, and exceptional desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant as first stop off the plane. 10 out of 10.

The restaurant is cute, the outdoor sitting with the birds chirping is very relaxing and good ambience. The food was alright, but our fantastic service were received made up for it. The onion rings were soggy and too oily, but our server brought us fries which was much better.

This is a Palm Springs must do! It has the Palm Springs experience. There is a specials menu each week that is great, you can subscribe via email. All the dishes are great. The small plates and pupo platter are delicious. I had the kobe steak tacos which were delicious. The Gelato is fabulous! Came back and tried their flaming baked Alaska special. It was delicious. A vanilla ice cream with cherries, meringue, and flaming brandy.

What dining in Palm Springs should be like! Superb food, very attentive service and a really fun atmosphere for lunch on a Sunday. Great music and a really fun vibe. Patio was gorgeous, would have loved if the tables were spaced a *little* further apart, but apart from that it was fantastic.

Spectacular! Great atmosphere and delicious food. We even brought our three little kids and for a mostly adult restaurant they were super accommodating. The service was the best I've ever had. We'll be back!

A very captivating and pleasant dining experience! Atmosphere was lively, colorful and the service was professional and consistent. It was very busy, but it only added positive energy to the nightlife atmosphere. Our friends hosted a wedding dinner reception here. The appetizers and dinners were fantastic! It was rather difficult finding parking here, however, I'm sure it is typical for popular spots like this on the weekend evenings. A great place to eat with a party of friends and family if you're visiting from out of town.

A Palm Springs staple with a fantastic atmosphere. The service was stellar and ambience wonderful. The food was average, but certainly not bad. I recommend sitting on the beautiful patio and getting the shrimp cocktail!

I wanna start by saying while the food here is generous and delicious, it’s PRICEY. But- the drinks are good & strong and BIG. This menu is all over the place in the best way. They go big on everything here, flavors & portions and price, lol. We arrived a lil earlier than we reserved & they seated us no problem. Our waitress was friendly & made excellent suggestions. Every table within earshot was raucously having a blast & laughing heartily. It was only a short matter of time before we were too. Expect to drop about $200 for drinks dinner and dessert for 2 ppl.

Wow! What an experience! Vibes were chill and a little bit of Miami style vibes. The music was great and the place was full but service was still top notch. The decor is beautiful and seating is comfortable. The staff here is incredible! From the hostess to the waiter to the sever. Everyone was so friendly! The drinks! Wow!! Will definitely be back to try the lamb! 💯

Always a go to while guests are in town. Love sitting on the patio as Our environment allows outside dining virtually daily. Saw some pork chops go out last night that could have fed two people. Amazing presentation. The chocolate cake was one of the best in the desert. This is now a staple for us

Was recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is really cool, we sat outside. The service was outstanding. The food came in large portions and was tasty. I got the miso salmon and we got the shrimp cocktail for the table.

What a great place! Very vibrant! Loved the ambiance, bar, music, service and food! The boneless fried chicken dinner was excellent. My friend lived the Flat Iron Steak. And loved the Rasberry Lemondrop Martini. They were very potent, as they should be. My friend had a Manhattan and said it was the best he’s had. The others were very pleased as well. I think this is our new go to place. Especially when entertaining out of town guests. It’s very “Palm Springs”. Highly recommend! My only negative is that it seems to be considerably over-priced. The happy hour menu is not a great deal.

E

Nice place didn’t really have a dinner meal since they sat us on a hi top taple. We had reservations but I am guessing since it was happy hour they put us in this section. Food was good for a happy hour menu. But nothing stood out.

Love this restaurant and come every time I am in town. They have the best vib, delicious cocktails and amazing food. I love the jalapeno pineapple margaritas and the pupu platter but the Poke is also amazing. All their desserts are fabulous!!

Fun and Hip atmosphere, awesome handmade cocktails, and excellent food. We really enjoyed our dinner at the Tropicale in Palm Springs. Even though we had to wait for our table it was totally worth it. We went to their bar and watched their very busy bartenders hand make our drinks. We chose from their excellent selection of fun, and artfully created cocktails. For dinner, the four of us shared some of their wonderful and Light flatbread pizzas, roasted asparagus and some of their fun and eclectic appetizers. Be sure to go there hungry and ready for an interesting, upbeat, and entertaining dinner. Maybe if you're lucky, you might even be able to spot Barry Manilow having dinner.!

Delicious shrimp cocktail. The restaurant made bloody mary dipping sauce was great. Wish I had the recipe. Service was excellent too. Our server was very well informed about the beverages and food selections. If you visit Palm Springs, I definitely recommend you eat here.

The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The owners were great. I do not and have never liked Calamari. However, my group insisted I try the Calamari here, and it was surprisingly delicious. The sauce that it sits on was amazing. Unfortunately, it was so good, I forgot to take a picture. I will definitely be back.

We were in town for weekend and were looking for a dinner spot with palm springs vibes, Tropicale mentioned on many online resources so we gave it a try. Atmosphere was mix of retro and modern, we dine at the backyard weather was good. Menu has big variety from Italian to latin and american touches. It was PS restaurant week during our visit, so we pick from fix menu which allows you to choose 3 from the list of the menu. We both got fresh strawberry white sangria, it was good and generous portion, choose tempura prawn for appetizer, i like tempura green beans come with it more than prawn, also both chose fried chicken as main course portion was smaller than the one on the menu and it came with only mashed potatoes as a side, it wasn’t bad but also i can’t say it was the one of the best fried chicken i have ever eat, i can tell they have used buttermilk. For desert we got the peach desert served with ice cream and it wasn’t bad also. Overall it was satisfying experience. I would definitely come back and try their other drinks during the happy hour, it seems they have nice mojitos.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great menu with something for everyone. Service was top notch and our waiter was amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Pictured are the pork chop and a dessert I can’t recall the name. Both amazing! Great for dates, groups, out of town guests.

I finally had a chance to go here and really enjoyed the experience! The people at Tropicale are super friendly and helpful! Josh (I hope I read his name properly) was the best! I had the classic Eggs Benedict and it was delicious! I also liked that the bread was a blueberry cake with crumbles on top, so much better then your standard bread! The back patio offers a very comfortable environment to converse, drink and eat! Thanks for the excellent time! 👍👍

We tried this place for dinner on our first visit to Palm Springs. We arrived and were greeted immediately with a friendly smiling face, making us feel very welcomed. We were seating after a few moments as it was a busy night. Our server Greg greeted us and got our drink order. When he returned with drinks we ordered the Lamb Meatballs with Hummus and Tabbouleh salad for an appetizer. The Lamb Meatballs were delicious. The Hummus and Tabbouleh were some of the best we have eaten. The owner Tony came by our table to see how we were enjoying the experience which was great. We then ordered the Crusted Pacific Red Snapper and my partner ordered the Flank Steak. Both were cook to perfection and were very tasty and delicious. We ordered the Peach Cobbler for dessert with the Cinnamon Ice Cream. We have eaten peach cobbler before but this was fantastic. Greg was a fantastic server as was everyone we encountered. The restaurant was very clean as were the restrooms. The general décor was similar to the 1950's supper clubs. This place was so enjoyable we wanted to come back for brunch the next day. At brunch we were greeted and sat on the patio and our server Nancy was great very attentive and friendly. They bring Coffee Cake to your table while you are waiting for your food. We ordered the Tiki Bowl with Spam Fried Rice & Fried Eggs and my partner ordered the House Grav Lox Flatbread with Dilled Crème Fraiche. Both were very tasty and delicious. With all the food both dinner and brunch they give you a lot of food. With the wonderful servers Greg and Nancy we will return again and again. My partner was already making plans on returning. This restaurant is sincerely a 5 star rated restaurant.

Love the whole vibe here! Perfect place to come for a great happy hour. Service was excellent- from the host to the bartenders. Host was especially welcoming and friendly. We opted for two seats at the bar and ordered their happy hour gin martinis- the biggest martini glass I’ve ever seen, filled all the way to the top. So full that they had to put the olives on the side. Ooff- delicious but strong! We also tried the tempura green beans which were so good. Not too heavily battered. They are so good.

Tropicale is an “old school” Palm Springs restaurant with an invigorated menu of world cuisine. Back in the day you would likely have seen many famous people eating here. Today, it’s a collection of retirees and folks just wanting comfortable food in a comfortable - upscale setting. The evening ambiance is that of a night club establishment. Mostly lit by dim lights and candles. More than half the restaurant is outdoor covered seating. Comfortable with low noise making it easy to have conversations - but not easy to see the menu! Table seating is close but far enough for privacy between tables. I can imagine that the atmosphere is completely different for daytime services taking on a well lit patio restaurant. But we were there at night. Prices are mid to high. But with that comes excellent food quality, a variety of world choices (Indian, Asian, western, Cuban, Italian, French, southern USA), and large portions. Service was attentive even for a busy establishment. The menu rotates often. Our server said the specials change weekly. Our table had: Flank steak, Taiwanese beef noodle, Cuban tomahawk pork chop and the pasta and Italian sausage. Every single entree was excellent. We also had the combination starter which was plenty for four people. More food than all of us could finish. You can plan on $80-$100 a person with drinks and tip. But if you are going to the Tropicale, you are not worrying about the cost of the meal. Definitely a place to try in Palm Springs if you want an old school night club feel where the Aurora of Bob Hope and other legends feel near. Unfortunately we did not take photos for this experience. But I am sure there are plant posted that reflect the atmosphere and food.

We first heard about this place at another restaurant where we knew someone. It was a late dinner but the place was still packed. People were everywhere. We didn’t have reservations but still got a seat right away. As soon as we were seated, we saw one of the bartenders, Albina, that we knew from the prior restaurant we were at the day before. The place is very intimate and sexy in my opinion. The waitress came over very fast, took our orders, margaritas and pizza which came out very fast. The margaritas were strong but not overly strong with the alcohol taste. I got a Paloma and my wife got a Cadillac margaritas. The pizzas came out next and man when I say this was possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had. You may be wondering why get pizza at this place where the options were vast. We weren’t that hungry so we shared it. Needless to say if this pizza is any indication on what the rest of the food taste like, you won’t be disappointed at all. I would definitely recommend going to this place. The dress code is sexy but you can wear your Palm Springs garb if you won’t to but I would dress like the restaurant vibe is. Sexy!

We were visiting and our local friend suggested this restaurant. Very much a palm springs vibe. It was pretty dark but didn't affect our time there. The food came out very fast, but our whole table had salads with a protein added. Would recommend for a special occasion, definitely worth it.

Surprisingly good boneless fried chicken. Chill romantic environment. Great service staff. Sarah our server was wonderful. Would recommend based on quality, perfect seasoning and flavors, ambiance and location vibes. Want to try the tomahawk pork chop next time. Cheers Tropicale and Palm Springs!

very good food and service. the server even asked left/right hand preference before putting down the drinks. the drinks are also stellar. there’s a small parking area in the back. however, there’s a large, undeveloped overflowing parking area immediately next to the back of the restaurant. it’s definitely on the more expensive side, but they have the taste and service to match it.

The fried chicken was absolutely fantastic. Good comfort food type meal. Spaghetti was great but could have used more sauce. Drinks were very good. Happy hour menu was very extensive and had some great dishes to choose from. The firecracker shrimp were excellent. Highly suggest checking this spot out for boozing and finger foods.

If u know, u know !!! Understated exterior, exciting interior. I have over 6m views of my photos & reviews as a Google guide & it's not often I can give out 5 stars because not every category can usually meet 5, but, The Tropicale Palm Springs over performaned, on this night anyway. The place was hopping-slammed-busy & the staff didn't miss a mark on giving an excellent experience. First class table service, delicious food, quality drinks at fair prices all within a beautiful lounging atmosphere. The later the night goes on, the more energy there is. Comfortable inside seating, glamorous lighting, choice vibe music, chill bar, huge patio.

We wanted to have a nice sit down dinner before leaving Palm Springs. The Tropicale did not disappoint. The atmosphere, service, food and drinks were on point. I am so happy that we had the opportunity to have dinner here. It's recommended to set up a reservation. The drinks are original and crafted with care. The food was very flavorful and the portions were generous. Our waiter was very attentive too. If you want a great place to have dinner in Palm Springs, this is the place to go.

Beautiful venue... Wonderful atmosphere... Friendly staff... Attentive staff... Tasty menu offerings... Avocado toast on rye with egg, Filipino garlic fried rice and sunny side egg and bottomless champagne. Loved the "tea pot" of orange juice, which allowed you to make mimosas to your own personal liking... As well as the complimentary blueberry crumb cake as a pre-course. This is a fine dining experience... Highly recommend

Well from the outside we would not have picked this spot but walking in changes all that. The atmosphere both inside and out was fun and cool. We sat on the patio and we had a late lunch. Started with the calamari and chips and salsa. Both were excellent! We also had 2 different pizza’s, the gyro, and the burger. The pizza crust is nice and thin. The gyro was just okay. The burger was yummy. Service was outstanding. We would definitely go back.

Really fun, swanky, old-school Palm Springs five. Funny to walk to it past sort of a sketchy area and then you enter the front doors and it’s dark and beautiful and moody. Nice patio outside too. Happy hour drinks are like $6.75 and up, no publicized menu of what they are but lots of options. Great prices and generous portions. Friendly waiters. Will have to come here every time I come to Palm Springs!

This place lives up to its name. The coconut martini makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. The fried chicken salad is delicious and the banana split is almost enough for 3 people. The staff are friendly and efficient. Great tropical atmosphere.

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Kyron (we affectionately called him Kai) last night at Tropicale Palm Springs, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience. From the moment he greeted us, his calm demeanor and warm presence immediately set the tone for our entire evening. Kai’s efficiency was truly impressive, attentive without ever being intrusive, seamless with timing, and completely in tune with what we needed before we even had to ask. He carried himself with such professionalism and ease that it made the night feel effortless and special. My husband and I were celebrating and hoping for a beautiful evening, and thanks to Kai, it was nothing short of spectacular. His above-and-beyond service elevated the entire experience. Kudos to him and thumbs up all the way! What a fantastic server. We will absolutely be back and hope to sit in his section again. 🌴✨

We went in for a quick drink at the bar and were met at the front with smiling faces! The manager let us look for spaces at the bar and when there was no space she kindly and swiftly gave us a high top. We ordered from a nice gentleman and received our delicious drinks very promptly. We really wanted to sit at the bar and when a spot opened up we closed with our server and found a couple seats and they made us feel right at home. We met the sweet bartender Mike who was dealing with a situation of his own involving another customer. They were definitely difficult and not being very nice to him so we made home feel better by sharing our thoughts. I wanted to leave this review because Mike was probablythe nicest bartender I have ever met and made our experience one we will not forget in a while! We didn’t order much but we will be back to sit at the bar for dinner soon! Thank you so much!

This is a staple for us every time we’re in the area. The outdoor patio is unbeatable, the drinks off the charts, and the service exquisite. Door variety, quantity and quality is top notch. Don’t let the modest outside of the restaurant fool you. The inside is a paradise!

I forgot to post back on NYE. But this place is great. And they were accommodating when I mistakenly thought I made a reservation that I had not completed. They managed to get us in without a long wait, even on the holiday! So grateful the night wasn't ruined by own error. The front staff was so understanding. Love the drinks and great food. We enjoy going when we are in town.

This is a total atmosphere place. The manager/host is always super friendly and welcoming. Everyone here seems to have a good attitude. Love the decor and the patio seating. Wish they kept the pumpkin creme brulee year round! But chicken parm is good, the pizzas are decent and they have a good shrimp cocktail.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Tropicale! The food was absolutely fantastic; every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, with just the right mix of Palm Springs charm and modern flair. Service was incredible; truly over-the-top in the best way. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and went above and beyond throughout the evening. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this restaurant. We've been here twice, once for brunch once for dinner. Between both trips we've only gotten one thing that wasn't mindblowingly stellar (it was a drink, so don't even let it affect your decision). While the food is amazing, the real secret is that this place serves the absolute best desserts. They have an in-house pastry chef and it's honestly worth coming here just for dessert if you happen to have other plans. I've had the baked Alaska, the coffee cake, and the sweet potato pie. Each was categorically the best I've ever had of their respective dish.

We celebrated my 40th bday at Tropicale and our experience was 10/10. Our server Aaron was SO on top of everything for our party of 15. We could tell this was not his first rodeo. He was super friendly, patient, and got our orders in quickly. The food was delicious, I had the miso salmon and was super happy with my choice. The decor is classic Palm Springs and exactly what I was hoping for. Highly recommend and thank you so much for a great birthday dinner!

The outside of the restaurant and its surrounding area did not come across as an attention seeking place. The street was quiet, there were some parking on the street and more parking was available in the back. Although smaller spaces than expected, my friend's SUV fit right in with minimal wiggle room. The lit torches out in the front of the restaurant were a nice addition to its exterior decor and then we walked inside.... My girlfriends and I were celebrating our milestone birthday. We had a 7pm reservation on a week night. The hostess greeted us. She was friendly and welcoming. We were then lead to the patio area outside. Not to say that the dining area was not inviting but we preferred fresh air. The weather was perfect in late August. Our server, Andrea was exceptional, from beginning til end. She didn't miss a beat. Like the hostess, she was welcoming and friendly. More importantly, she always checked in with us, asking if there was anything else we needed. And, when we did, she was prompt in fulfilling our request each time. Even when it got busy, she made sure we ended our dining experience with smiles on our face. Nice calming ambience both in the dining area and outdoor patios. From its decor, low lighting, music, and friendly staff, it was perfect. Our mocktails and food were good. Not exactly 5 star but presentation was on point. It was definitely a great night to celebrate our birthdays at The Tropicale in Palm Springs! Perfect A must-see👍🏼

Our hotel manager said, “I know it sounds weird, but trust me and order the lamb meatballs”. He was soooo right. But even before we ordered we were greeted so well by Blanca, who seated us and periodically checked on us. Our server Daman, gave us above and beyond great service!!! He made drink and dinner suggestions that truly led to us having an exceptional experience. We had the spicy mango mojito, lamb meatballs and chicken parmigiana. If we have time left on this trip, we will definitely be back.

A fabulous spot with delicious food and a laid-back vibe that won’t quit. I heard that this was the most popular restaurant in Palm Springs and now I understand why. The atmosphere is intoxicating. Our server was wonderful. And the food was everything you want it to be. Even something as simple as the spaghetti and meatballs was a dish that everyone wanted to eat more of. It felt like being invited into a cool secret club, but not pretentious at all. An unforgettable experience for the large group we were with that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend.

The Tropicale in Palm Springs is an absolute gem with a calming, yet upbeat, and romantic atmosphere. The warm pink accent lighting and lush decor set the perfect mood for a fun date night. The fun Cuban music playing in the background adds a vibrant and playful energy to the experience. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet lively night out. The food was on point. We started with the Korean BBQ skewers. They were full of flavor and unbelievably tender. For our entrees, I got the steak and arugula salad, and my husband ordered a flat iron steak with a wonderful southwestern blend of vegetables. Both wonderful. Then, we ended with their carrot cake. Oh my goodness. One of the best carrot cakes that we have tried since being stationed here! It was so good, there wasn’t even time to snap a quick picture. 😂 10/10 recommend this place. We plan on bringing a group of friends with us next time to try their pitchers of speciality drinks. 🍹

Very nice with interior and exterior eating areas. Large Marlin on the wall. Ordered the skewers. The steak ones were very tender & juicy. The steak was good but I didn’t like the salad. Finished with a very nice strawberry cheesecake. Service is fast and helpful. Men’s restroom is all black except one wall. caught me by surprise and would not want the lights to turn off hahaha. I say check it out.

I expected this place to be amazing since they required a deposit to make a reservation. They also said they'd charge $250 per person if we didn't show up. Right? So it should be amazing. The coffee cake they serve which I believe has raspberries and cherry in it was amazing. We couldn't get enough. My Baja shrimp tacos were just ok for me. My friends liked the waffles but it was so heavy they couldn't eat much of it. They liked the Thai peanut salad. Another friend got the gyro and liked it. The brisket burger was huge and hard to eat for my friend. The staff was nice and the ambiance is lovely although we were cramped. The cost of dinner for 6 was $200. Oof.

The food was good but the atmosphere is really what this restaurant is about! The food was incredible! It came out very quickly, too. Everything was so tasteful, and ingredients are fresh. We ate during their happy hour, and we had to ask for the happy hour menu (they didn’t automatically include it when seating us). Drink prices are steep, but I’d say the food is very well priced for the quality. Outdoor patio is nice.

Friendly and accommodating staff. We went for happy hour, reservations recommended. Our server, Nick, was professional and efficient. The place seemed very well managed. When a table next to us finished, it was like an Indy pit crew changing linens and setting it up for the next customer. The prices for happy hour snacks were on the high side, mostly $18-$21 but the portions were decent. We enjoyed everything, the chicken jalapeño sausage pizza, the popcorn shrimp, the giant pretzel and the meatballs. Drinks were ok, the happy hour martini was bleh. I’d give the place another try. Good for groups. Cheers!

We had high expectations, and was very surprised at the slowness of the service, especially for the high price. We had to ask for our waiter, when he arrived, he tried to make up for tardiness, offered us a free appetizer, calamari. Great, felt that was the right thing to do. The food was fast, but was a little off on taste. It might have been an off night, so busy, and they were going a mile a minute. Give it a try, I firmly believe they will exceed your expectations.

Wonderful service and atmosphere. Great cocktails. I ordered the pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple. Overall the crust was good. The pineapple was not so good as I got several slices nearer to the core that were fibrous and not sweet. Also large chunks of raw green bell pepper were on the pizza. I had leftovers for lunch but I would recommend, for what I am paying for this, sweet pineapple, and I would recommend no raw green bell peppers...If you want another veg, slice up a charred red bell...oh so much better.

Came here with a group of 7 and got a reservation on a busy weekend. Good: - The food portions here are huge! And happy hour goes until 7. - I liked the fried calamari and the pizza we got from the happy hour menu, the firecracker shrimp was so tasty too! - The main entree I got was the a pasta, and it was great -the ragu was fresh and it was chewy - The desserts were tasty and I liked the baked Alaska a lot as well as the huge huge chocolate pie slice we got Bad: - Pretty expensive overall, about $100pp - Super dim inside, so a little hard to see each other - Takes some time to flag down waiters - Didn't feel incredibly upscale, though it had a price tag associated with it Overall this place was fun for a one time hangout, but I didn't think it was super unique or special.

Went once for cocktails/happy hour and again for dinner. The food was decent, and the cocktails were great. Very busy, but service was quick and stellar. Honestly, felt a little rushed, but understandably, they need to turn tables quickly for the number of folks they get in the door.

Visited Palms Springs for a weekend getaway and tried a few different places. Went here for the style/vibe. We sat outside and I couldn't help but be happy the whole time. Nice setting, nice people. Food and drinks were good, but probably a little pricy for the quality. Not to say the food wasn't good, it was. Would be happy to visit again and try some other stuff. But, you're really coming here for the atmosphere. Good for larger groups too. Had the Salmon and Pupu Platter.

Fun place to check out in Palm Springs. We were ignored for awhile when we first got there and finally we got the attention of someone who was very nice. Obviously, they have some communication issues amongst the staff because we got there at 8:30 on a Sunday and they weren't busy and lots of supporting staff like bussers, bartender were standing around and saw us. We got the Mediterranean platter with the meatballs, meatballs were good but there was a weird spice in the Tzatziki that was strange. My family has been making this for generations so I'm not sure what they put in it but it was bitter. Hummus was ok, not a good, whipped garlicky, olive oil flavor though. Kind of bland. Tabouleh was just ok, too. The Brie burger was very delicious though. Pricey, but everything here is pricey, I guess you pay for the atmosphere which is cool. This may be a one and done type of place I guess.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. They have always been on point with food and service. Had a disappointing dinner on Sunday evening. My guest’s curry was cold and my onion rings were burnt. Both were sent back with no apology, no visit from a manager or owner. I guess I just expected more when there are items being sent back to the kitchen. I hope things aren’t changing there because it has always been a consistent favorite.

Tropicale’s hospitality driven by Ashley always exceeds our expectations! Good service. For a first time group visit, the pupu platter is a must-order to sample a bunch of different appetizers. There were no misses. Would highly recommend the food—Miso Salmon, Thai Lime & Chile skirt steak salad Wish my cocktail was more balanced in flavour. Chocolate cake was HUGE, but didn’t want to have more than a few bites of it. Was skeptical from photos online, but the night restaurant lighting doesn’t do the food justice.

The service was really really good, and the pupu platter was delicious as well. I did drop two stars for the overcooked shrimp on the platter, and the fact that the cookies recommended to us by our waiter were so overcooked they were basically charcoal, and I expected more for $22 cookies. Unfortunately we took them to go so we couldn’t have it corrected. I would still return to try more of the menu as the Pupu platter was THAT good.

The atmosphere was nice but the brunch food was meh, 2.5/5. I’d recommend coming here for just the drinks. Service was good to start but real slow once the food was on the table. And they didn’t have any spicy salsa, or hot sauce, aside from sriracha, that was the nail in the coffin for me personally, because i couldn’t even fix the bland food with something spicy. Oh well.

The Topicale needs management and operational support. It’s a huge restaurant and it gets busy! They don’t offer valet service, but it would be perfect for them. I don’t like doing valet, but parking here is a nightmare. Street parking is hard to come by. So instead customers are left to park in a dirt lot without lighting and covered in potholes. I watched a few Teslas bottom out and then a couple get out of the car in formal attire, only to then be covered in dirt from the lot. I had made reservations, but they were behind. Not a problem! I was asked to wait by the bar and have a drink it outside. I went to the bar and stood behind a lady who was finishing up ordering drinks. When I got up to the counter one of the bartenders yelled at me and said if I wanted to order I needed to move down. Come to find out I was in the server area (sorry!). But I guess for the cute girl it was ok. I stood there waiting for about 15 minutes making eye contact with the actual bartender but he never looked at me. The bar seats were full and there wasn’t another place to just walk up and order a drink, so I had to wait for the bartender to see me. Mind you there was no one else standing and waiting for a drink. The customers sitting at the bar had to flag down the bartender who then acknowledged me. I was seated about 20 minutes after my reservation time. I loved the menu full of classics. I felt like I was in the 60’s or 70’s, but many dishes had a modern take. I ordered the coconut shrimp. Unfortunately they we’re just average. I was expecting a more refined version, but they were not much better than the frozen shrimp I buy. I bet if I did a blind taste test with customers they wouldn’t know. I was eating alone. After eating two of my six shrimp my entree arrived. I told the food runner I was still eating my appetizer and to hold off on the entree. I finished my appetizer and ordered another cocktail. The server never owned up to the early entree mishap. I ordered the fried chicken for the entree. It was immediately that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for the last 20 minutes. Being a former chef the congealed sauce and dry vegetables was a tell all. The chicken was actually not too bad, but I skipped the rest as it had dried out. While eating the server dropped the dessert menu. Not always a big deal, but at a nicer restaurant, I expect my entree to be cleared. At this point I had pushed my plate away and turned over my fork. It was clear I was done. After ordering dessert the server still didn’t take my dinner plate. Actually the plate sat until I got my check. I requested the dessert to go. I guess this is a new concept. Instead of being handed the dessert in a bag with a fork, I was handed the take out container by itself. Overall the food is ok/good, the drinks were good, I loved the decor. But the service was terrible!! Address the parking, allow for people to walk up to the bar, and train the staff on basic customer service.

We visited early on a Friday night. We made a reservation on open table and we were seated right away. We sat out on the patio which was lovely. The service was great. The drinks were great. The food was sub-par to say the least. It was WAY overpriced for the quality of food. The pupu platter was the best out of the 3 things we ordered. The firecracker shrimp had good flavor but they weren’t crispy at all. The worst dish, by far was the Thai lime and chili steak salad. I don’t think you can call it a steak salad. It was more like a cheap steak (think what you would get at Denny’s or Sharis) with a side slaw. It felt like it was 50% bamboo shoots. If I’m spending $36 on a salad it better be good and it wasn’t. I won’t ever go back.

Gabriela Chapula-Snow

The cocktail was good but the service was mediocre and the appetizer plate of the fried calamari is probably the worst I've ever had anywhere. No kind of flavor no kind of crunch to it no kind of crispy anything to it it just literally tasted like rubber bands that were dipped in the fryer. HORRIBLE. The only thing delicious there were the three fire depjartment guys that walked in. It was father's day. I love hot dads.

PLEASE READ for the realest review 🙏🏻 We came here because on the Tropicale website, it says, "Palm Springs fine dining at its best!" I am basing my review on a fine dining restaurant .... let me tell you, it was FAR from a fine dining experience 😭 I wanted so bad to have a good brunch, but this place really let us down. Upon arrival, the outside has a cute retro feel of when PS really started to grow. We were greeted with smiles by amazing hosts! We were seated right away, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our server came over almost immediately and was kind. We couldn't decide what we wanted, so we took some extra time just chatting and looking over the menu. They even kindly brought coffee cake for us! Everyone was so friendly with us and our baby! :) We ended up deciding on the chicken and waffles and chilequilles (pictured) The food came out so fast! Tasting the food is where it took a turn for the worse. The chicken and waffles were very confusing, overcooked, and covered in chicken fat 🤢 the jalapeño waffles were ok - a little soggy, which was weird, but overall, ok. It was really weird that they came with country gravy, what looked like canned pie filling (super floppy and soggy) cinnamon apples, and roasted jalapeños on top. I never thought I'd see country gravy and pie filling in the same dish 😅 One piece of chicken was overcooked (the small, dark one on the left of the photo) and the other piece of chicken made me lose my appetite entirely. I have NEVER had chicken like that before. There was so much fat around the whole piece of chicken, it was inedible. I tried eating different parts of that big chunk of chicken, unfortunately, the whole piece was ruined. I reluctantly mentioned it to the waiter after he asked how everything was. He told the manager who came over quickly. But to my surprise, she did not offer a discount or to take it off the check. She did offer another piece of chicken, but at that point, I was not hungry, and my partner was done. The chilequilles were ok: the tortilla chips were clumped together with beans.. no crispy pieces at all - I would not order again. I do hate to say it, but overall, probably wouldn't go back again 😕

The Tropicale came highly recommended by a few friends and even my sister in law, so my wife and I made it our first dinner stop for our one year anniversary weekend. We were excited to try it but honestly the whole experience just was not what we hoped for. From the moment we walked in it felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. It was loud, packed, and people were constantly moving around. Conversation was tough and instead of a relaxed dinner vibe it felt like everyone was there mainly for the bar scene. The staff, to their credit, were great. There were servers everywhere making sure drinks stayed full and checking on tables, and every person we interacted with was kind and on top of things. Food wise it started off promising. We shared the Thai pork lettuce cups with papaya slaw and those were actually really good with nice flavor, a little sweet and savory, and probably the highlight of the night. After that it went downhill. We ordered the Creekstone ranch prime flat iron steak which is twelve ounces and fifty four dollars and it came out bland and a little dry. We even asked for extra salt because it was just missing seasoning completely. The baked potato that came with it was literally just a plain potato with some toppings on the side and nothing special at all. My wife barely touched it. For my entrée I tried the miso glazed steelhead salmon with black rice. It was fine and tasted like a normal salmon bowl with a light teriyaki glaze but nothing memorable or worth coming back for. Considering the price point I expected something that felt a bit more special or unique. Everyone around us was ordering cocktails and big fun drinks which honestly looked like the main draw here. We do not drink so maybe that is the real hook of the place and why people rave about it. If you are looking for a lively bar and cocktail scene maybe it is great. But for a nice sit-down dinner it just was not it for us. The staff was wonderful but overall it is not a spot we would return to for food.
