This restaurant specializes in carnitas, chicharrón, gorditas, quesadillas, and carnitas-style chicken. It has a bar, good service, and tasty food. Interestingly, the menu lists prices for cash payments and a different price for card payments, which is about 20% higher. It's located on the southeast corner of Eje Central and Montevideo. To access the parking lot, take Eje Central from the south heading north and turn right onto Montevideo. The parking lot is 50 meters past three shops. It's a good option, but keep in mind that they close at 6:00 PM. Being on the ground floor, it's easily accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers.

This is not a fancy or trendy rests, but an old cantina turned into an outstanding, authentic mexican good joint. Connoisseurs will appreciate the quality of Carnitas, Chamorro and Barbacoa (in that order) I was told by local friends that it used to be even more famous for their chicke, but they changed owners and it was removed from menu. By the taco, or by kilo or fraction of kilo, it remains as a GREAT food place. Live singer was exceptionally good, service was immaculate, and the bathroom was pristine. Not exaggerating here, it is an experience worth travelling from abroad. Area of opportunity? Serve the sodas with ice, but they were pleasantly cold from their fridges, it is just to show that I'm totally fair with this review. HIGHLY recommended if you want authentic and don't care for fancy fakery. One of CDMX hidden treasures.

I see a lot of bad reviews... but I've been eating there for years and I have no complaints about the service or the food. Personally, I've always had the chicken in adobo sauce and it's delicious. I think that's their main dish. I've ordered carnitas tacos and they're not bad at all. The chicken is browned in the carnitas saucepan and then bathed in a delicious thick adobo sauce. Accompanied by a cactus and avocado salad, it's a truly tasty meal. The chicken costs $298 and the prices are for takeout and for dining in, of course. It might seem expensive, but the chickens are a very good size. They just remodeled the place and it looks good, it's comfortable and clean. On the weekends, there's live music which livens up mealtimes. There's parking and the service is very fast. It's a place that's been around for many years. It's definitely recommended.

Great place to have Carnitas, it is a traditional place, you can find meat until 7PM when they close.
