I ordered the seafood Suntofu and it was absolutely delicious! It was so full of flavor! A welcome change from overly salted broth! The service was amazing!! I will be back!!
Food is delicious, too many choices. All staff was very attentive. Food was served quickly. They brought out a roll and later mochi ice cream for my daughter’s birthday. Will definitely come again.
This was my first time eating here and I loved it. The service was great, fast and the food was super tasty. I will definitely come back to try more dishes.
The food is delicious and tastes very fresh and authentic. Un, the waitress, is very friendly and kind. She answered my questions patiently. The atmosphere is tranquil and not too busy, so my friends and I enjoyed conversing. I highly recommend!
If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, this Korean BBQ restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an enjoyable evening. The space strikes the perfect balance between modern and traditional, with cozy tables and the ever-present sizzling dishes that get your appetite going. The food is where this restaurant truly shines. Each dish is bursting with flavor, showcasing the rich and authentic tastes of Korean cuisine. The marinated meats, from tender bulgogi to juicy galbi, are cooked to perfection right at your table, allowing you to savor the smoky aroma and flavors as they sear. The side dishes are a delightful assortment, offering a perfect complement to the main dishes, and the kimchi is some of the best you'll ever taste. What makes this experience even better is the affordability. Despite the high-quality ingredients and generous portions, the prices are incredibly reasonable. You get great value without compromising on taste or portion size, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Lastly, the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always ready to guide you through the menu or help with any requests. They make you feel right at home, enhancing the overall dining experience. I have been away for several years and noted the changes in my diet when placing my order. The owner was extremely attentive to my request and description, in what I preferred. Whether you're a Korean BBQ enthusiast, a regular, or a first-timer, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience with its inviting atmosphere, flavorful dishes, great prices, and top-notch service.
Decent food Impressed by the food and appetizers One of these led to digestive problems Nice pleasant atmosphere. The tall guy is great and very kind We went with family friends. Group of 12 Food has quite a bit of flavor. I would recommend basically anything. Not a huge fan of Korean food but this is actually pretty good. I am ready to return for the third time. Or wait, is it the fourth?
Food was fresh and tasty. Stone pot Bibimbap with beef was good. Seafood stone pot bibimbap says variety of seafood, but only had some squid and one shrimp. I wish seafood included some fish.
For some reason, everyone was packed onto one side of the dining area. We were right on top of people to our left and right, but figured they may be short staffed. The waitress was very sweet, bless her heart. The food is delicious and the portion is good. However, I don't think the food quality and portions explain the ridiculously high prices. I don't think I'd eat here again, because Soo Cafe has food just as good for a cheaper price.
A nice restaurant with a good assortment of food although the dessert menu is lacking a little. There’s something off about the inside you don’t really feel like you’re at an Asian restaurant. The beef was thinly sliced and delicious. The rice was sticky and yummy. I could eat with my chop sticks just fine. The portions are too big. I think they should cut them back a little and reduce the price. We paid over $40 a person for our food. I was grateful to see they have Bingsu / Korean Shaved Ice in Chapel Hill but don’t think it compared to Grace Street or Meet Fresh. It was still good for a change from the typical American desserts I have. The server was nice.
Great experience! Compared to other Korean restaurants in the Cary/Raleigh area, it cannot compare. Still for the location and the price, I think it is well worth the visit. Not the cheapest food ever, but reasonable for the amount of food. I ordered the kimchi jjigae, jajangmyeon, dumplings, and mochi. Really sweet server. All in all a good experience!
I was looking forward to trying this restaurant, because I frequently drive by it and had envisioned the food being tasty. But alas, reality did not match my imagination. I visited MinGa last Thursday and ordered a lunch special, specifically chicken bibimbap in a stone bowl. A bibimbap is supposed to have a cheerful, satisfying medley of flavor and texture. That characteristic is absent in MinGa's bibimbap. The chicken tasted unseasoned and the whole dish needed SO MUCH more flavor. Even the two additional sauces couldn't compensate for the lack of seasoning. I also ordered Yuzu tea as my beverage, which lacked fizz and, again, was very bland. On a positive note, their banchan was quite good—I enjoyed the kimchi and got satisfaction from eating the bean sprouts. I'd also like to give props to the waitress who served me—she was friendly and made my visit a smooth one. Ultimately, I wanted to write this review to send a message to MinGa's chefs and management, which is this: ADD MORE FLAVOR TO YOUR FOOD!!! If they were to ever make their food more flavorful, I'd be down to go to MinGa again! But until they do so, I can't recommend you pay them a visit. If you're ever craving Korean food, go to NAMU instead. It's several minutes down the road and their food is actually flavorful and well-seasoned, even without adding any additional sauces.
The food here is pricy compared to its quality. The pickled radish in the sides was super salty. The seafood pancake was very thick with almost no oil. The rice in the stone bowl was too soft and watery. The beef bulgogi was okay but not special. As for the service, we waited for over 10 mins without anyone adding water or taking our order, even though the place was almost empty. I finally found out we can order by phone, but no one reminded us of that when we were seated. After I finished ordering, someone finally asked if we’d like to take order. We would not come again.
Not coming back, service is horrible especially the owner/manager. It took 15 min to order because we were seated in a hard to see area. Once our food arrived, we had some extra requests such as grabbing extra plates and sauces. We were completely forgotten and when I looked over they were busy chatting and on their phones. Ruined my entire mood. Never once did the check in on us. Once the check came she was rushing us to pay before we even could leave a tip she quickly said tip is not included while staring us down for a tip. The service was awful but we were going to tip regardless. But her treating us like that was very disappointing. As for the food, portions are alright, food is a bit bland hence why we asked for extra sauces. Hopefully they improve on how they treat customers.
A Korean restaurant with barely any Koreans. That should say all. There's a spicy stew type of menu for two with pork and potato. It was the worst I've had at any restaurants. They've spray painted the gas burner used for the stew at the table so I could smell the strong paint smell. Then even though the main part of the stew is pork and potato, there's suppose to be bunch of other stuff, but I barely saw any. The chicken bulgoki was not bad though. The waitress who served us was nice. The side dishes were pretty bad and their kimchi was nasty. I wouldn't call that a kimchi. My family went there before once over 10 years ago when they first opened and I guess I know why we didn't come back. This time I forgot how bad it was that we accidentally came.
We came in and waited to be seated — no problem there. But no one acknowledged us the entire time, even though multiple staff members walked by and made eye contact. Another couple came in after us and was immediately greeted and told there would be a short wait, while we were still being ignored. Honestly, one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. The food looked good and I am sad that I couldn’t eat there because they wouldn't seat me.
We visited MinGa with our family — just 2 adults and 2 kids — and were shocked to find that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill without any prior notice. For a small family group, this felt misleading and unfair, especially since nothing on the menu or at the table mentioned this policy. While the food was decent, the lack of transparency left a bad impression. We would have appreciated the courtesy of being informed before the charge was applied. It’s disappointing when a restaurant takes away the customer’s choice to tip based on service. We won’t be returning. Please stay away Saw the comment from owner Thank you for your response. However, your explanation doesn’t quite address the real issue. We were a small family — just two adults, two kids, and one infant — and at no point were we told that an 18% gratuity would be automatically added. There was no mention on the menu, no sign at the table, and the server didn’t inform us either. If this is your policy for all parties of four or more, it really should be clearly communicated upfront. We always tip for good service, but we also value honesty and transparency. This felt more like a hidden fee than a standard service charge, and it left us feeling misled. To put it simply: it’s like someone offers to change your car tire for $20, then once the tire is off, suddenly says, “Actually, it’s going to be $35.” You didn’t agree to that — but now you’re stuck. That’s exactly how this experience felt. We hope your team takes this seriously and ensures future guests are properly informed. “Transparency isn’t just good service — it’s respect for your customer’s trust.” Tipping should be a choice, not a surprise. Again thank you for the response
