At the end of a day trip, my son and I missed the 8 p.m. ferry on a rainy Thursday evening. The next ferry wasn't running until 11 p.m. so we were thankful to find respite inside the Island Breeze. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Our waiter, Ethan, was friendly and helpful beyond our expectations. We had a nice meal and some drinks, after which, we were welcomed to stay until the 11 p.m. ferry arrived. Ethan even provided a charging cord for our cell phones. Also working were Lynette and McKenzie who checked on us frequently. As 11 p.m. approached, we noticed that these three staff members would be on the same ferry back to Sayville. We had a great time chatting with them. As we arrived in Sayville, we said goodbye and began boarding the shuttle bus in the rain. That is when the driver said it was "cash only" and I had no cash on me. Before I could get a plan together in my head, Ethan had his wallet out and was payiing the $6 shuttle cost. We tried to get his information to reimberse him but he refused. If these nice people are a reflection of how this business operates, they are well deserving of your patronage.

5- star review for Linette. We had the pleasure of being served by Linette during our recent visit, and I can honestly say she made the entire experience exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we were seated, Linette was warm, attentive and incredibly professional. She greeted us with a genuine smile and carried herself with the perfect balance of friendliness and efficiency. Linette anticipated our needs without being intrusive, checked in at just the right times, and made thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be spot on! Her knowledge of the menu and her confidence in suggesting options really stood out! It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and it made a big difference in the quality of our visit. What truly impressed me was her ability to make us feel welcomed and cared for- like we were more than just customers. In a world where great service can be rare, Linette is a true gem! We’ll absolutely be back and we will be asking for Linette! Also- the food was delicious.

We just had some snacks and an appetizer here but we really enjoyed the visit and our bartender very friendly and fun to chat with! Would definitely go back.

Decent bar on the bay, go find the tiki bar for a great night

Perfect local spot with amazing waitstaff and view. Food was great! Fried calamari was crispy and not chewy. Ceasar salad with salmon was perfectly cooked and great cocktails. Service was excellent

We came for brunch this morning and it was a strange experience . A lovely setting by the water but with mediocre food and terrible service . The gentleman at the front really did not want to interact and was not welcoming . The lovely older lady that was serving was very sweet but was flustered . We didn't get our coffee ( had to ask another server) and got water as we were leaving . At $20 the hash bowl was expensive and below average .Wouldn't return.

We waited 20 mins to be acknowledged, 30 mins for two drinks and never received lunch. Our “server” couldn’t make it any clearer he didn’t want to serve my spouse and I. The sad part is the Fire Chief recommended the restaurant. We’ll never be back.

Yes, when you’re in the Grove, there are limited options, and you have to bring a lot of cash, but I want to echo others that this place is not doing so well this year. I won’t even write out the details, it’s the same as other low star reviews. Mainly I’ll say that Sand Castle is so much ridiculously better. Take your money there, at least until we get some management improvements at Island Breeze.

We waited and waited, after about five minutes a guy stood up from the bar and asked if we wanted a table. I confirmed and asked if we could sit outside. He replied “oh I don’t work here, I’m going to find so-and-so”; he walked off. Again we waited; no one returned and we gave up. After we left we walked around towards the dock and the restaurant was literally completely empty….. on one inside other than at the bar and only about 2 tables outside with only drinks. The rude hostess saved us from being the only diners in a failing operation. Top of the Bay and Sand Castle are packed and actually pretty good. Why doesn’t Island Breeze want customers?

Nothing special about this place.. McDonald's burgers are better than this place. The music speakers are way to loud you can't even enjoy the ocean view. This is a last resort place if u can't make up your mind where to go. (Frozen pattys)🤢
