My family and I go often to eat here and we are never disappointed. The food is always good! One of the best spots in Pilsen!
Today was my lucky day. While getting loaded at the cold storage warehouse which can take hrs I was able to walk across and enjoy a great lunch. The food was very delicious and the atmosphere was nice. I really enjoyed these small mom and pops restaurants. ❤️
This place has the best pozole verde in the entire city, and their mole is to die for! I learned about this place through ubereats and got hooked. Last Wednesday, I finally went in person, and I gotta say that it was worth the trip! Everything here is freshly made, and the sauces are all from scratch and authentic. We tried their queso fundido, and it was delightful. I will make it a habit to come around here regularly because it's just that good.
Great place great people and great food. I had the mole and chile toreado. They were crunchy and tasty. Everything was good the mole was banging. Would come back again
This place is absolutely AMAZING! The service was wonderful and that Mexican Mole and Poland’s cheesesteak was magnificent.
Great service and greeeat food. Highly recommend!!! Will definitely be returning.
I ate here today with my family and it was outstanding.. very nice people and the best mole I have ever tasted. Make a point of trying it out. You will not be disappointed.
Based on Marcos Raya's FB recommendation, we have now visited this restaurant twice. Mole made from scratch is super delicious, excellent guacamole, home made tortillas, very clean place, attentive staff. A bit off the beaten path in Pilsen but worth the trip. Both times friends and I spent a couple of hours enjoying our meal, visiting with each other and never felt rushed. Highly recommend for authentic Mexican food.
Mole was amazing with a delicious home made flavor ! Definitely will be coming back
not the best mole I have ever had. it is the best mole I currently can get and know where to get. cool art work no ac. looks like it's just starting to get it self back to more normal. I don't know what kind of tortillas they use but they where better than my favorite el milagos. do they ever make that jet black Oaxacan mole I don't know that's what I want. I lol at the one star review complaining about bones in the chicken. turns out chickens have bones. they said the mole was to sweet. when I was there they had 2 moles one was sweet. I got both the less sweet one was better but the sweet one was really good as well.
Food was delicious, service was great 😊 my son was treated very well and gat a treat from waitress. We both walked out very happy and satisfied 😊
Caldo de res rojo was so delicious. The broth was just-enough spicy and full of flavor. I was so happy to see the many generous chunks of tender beef and the varied vegetables that filled the bowl! Additional fixings include the usual diced onions, shredded cilantro, lime and freshly-made tortillas. 😋
Consist great food! My go to place when I want that home made, authentic, Mexican food taste! Chef has been my favorite for over 10 years.
Wow and wow! If you want to eat delicious homemade Mexican food that reminds you of your mom’s food when you were a kid, you need to come! Waitress was so kind and the owner/chef came out to personally check on our table. Very kind and humble guy. Food was AMAZING!! The mole reminded me of my grandmas mole … literally felt all the feels here with great childhood memories and amazing food! Will come back FOR SURE!!
Huge mole foodie, finally tried this place and I don't know why the hell i waited so long. Everything we had was amazing. We ordered and shared a huarache with chicken and it was huge and the handmade tortilla was phenomenal! My mole enchiladas were amazing, my bf is always only ordering burritos and he said this one was above average and he's super critical. Shame this place isn't booming with business. Only con is they had no AC and it was pretty warm inside.
Chef Agustin Bahena has done a fantastic job of maintaining a solid restaurant that is consistently putting out the best mole in the Pilsen neighborhood! He won the coveted Mole de Mayo competition 3 times! I love his spicy mole estilo Guerrero with chicken. My colleagues love his burritos. You cannot go wrong with food made my Chef Bahena and his team. The ambiance is warm and inviting. I like looking at the cool artwork made by local artists from the community. Everything he makes is from scratch and made fresh to order. This is why his meals take time. So, if you are in the Pilsen area and looking for some delicious mole, stop by Mole Village. You will not be disappointed!
This Mole is one of the best I've had in Chicago! Very flavorful. I recommend.
This is a nice little place to eat, I brought my son here for his birthday because he likes mole. He had the chicken enchiladas with mole and my wife had the pork with mole and they both love the food. The employees were polite and ready to serve you. The food is made fresh because it took a while for us to wait. I recommend this place if you like fresh food and would like to impress your family, friends or loved ones. I will definitely be back
Friendly staff! Lots of families were present. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals
Outstanding Taco Restaurant with Exceptional Customer Service! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible taco restaurant, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. First and foremost, the customer service was top-notch. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to answer any questions I had about the menu. They were incredibly patient and took the time to explain the different taco options available, ensuring that I found the perfect combination for my taste buds. Now, let's talk about the food itself. Oh my goodness, the tacos were absolutely divine! Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering options suitable for every palate. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or have specific dietary needs, this restaurant strives to cater to all. I was particularly impressed by their attention to detail in presentation. The tacos were beautifully arranged, making them visually appealing and even more enjoyable to eat. The chefs clearly take pride in their creations, and it definitely shows in the presentation and taste. Not only was the food amazing, but the ambiance of the restaurant was also fantastic. It had a cozy, vibrant atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The clean and well-maintained environment added to the overall dining experience, making it even more pleasurable. To top it all off, the prices were reasonable and offered great value for the quality of food and service provided. I felt like I received excellent service and a fantastic culinary experience without breaking the bank. In conclusion, if you're looking for a taco restaurant that not only serves incredibly delicious food but also provides outstanding customer service, look no further. This establishment sets the bar high with their warm and welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, and delectable tacos. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings. Don't miss out on this hidden gem — you won't be disappointed! Five stars all the way!
As I note in my other review, I generally do not post on local gems, like this that I don't want gummed up with crowds, but I really want this place to stay open, so here we go. This is a tiny restaurant tucked away along the industrial/residential corridor of Blue Island Ave. that has exceptionally spectacular food. Homemade tortilla chips and tortillas, molcajete that isn't too spicy, and the sweetest service you could ask for from the staff. We had the pozole and caldo the pollo which were very clean, bright and restorative. The mole isn't out of a jar and avoids the cloying sweet with no dimension that you can get at other places. The chile rellenos are flavorful and cooked accurately with good breading and delicious cheese and sauce. Did I mention the custom made corn tortillas that are soft, chewy and seasoned perfectly? Come to this place. It is not a "cheap" place so prepare to pay for the love and attention you'll taste in every dish.
Was craving some mole and my fiance found this place and we loved it! It's a small-ish place but the food is amazing and it just felt so welcoming. It's a different taste of mole than the region my family is from but still give it a 10/10.
Staff was friendly and welcoming. The mole was amazing, tasted homemade and reminded my of my mother’s very own cooking. Tortillas were handmade too! Will definitely visit again!
So delicious! They've won awards for their mole and it's easy to taste why. It's a darker, slightly bitter, slightly spicy mole, that's not as sweet as some I've had. I had this a few days ago and have been craving it since then. The restaurant itself looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but on the inside it's warm and welcoming, simple and clean and homey. You could bring your grandmother here. Service was fast and polite and kind. We had the mole chicken, the mole chicken enchiladas, and the mole chicken bowl, and everyone loved theirs.
Came from Dallas to try this place out, took two trains to get here and it was definitely worth it! As soon as we came Anai provided amazing service. She even let us try the mole before ordering. I would highly recommend the chilaquiles de mole and agua de Jamaica to everyone!!
I ordered the chile rellenos!! It’s my favorite dish!!
Best burrito I had so far in Pilsen! It's a great place for authentic Mexican food. I had a breakfast burrito and my wife a vegetarian burrito which were both great. The burrito bread and also tortillas are handmade and you taste the difference. The owner and staff are very attentive and friendly. The place can be rented for private or corporate functions.
Everything was delicious. From the salsa, to the soup to the enchiladas. Their mole is very good with a touch of sweet chocolate. Great service and reasonable prices. They also serve breakfast. No alcohol.
Personal opinion, didn’t think much of it. I love Mole, so I had to give it a try. GOH’ DAAAAAAAMN’ IT. BEST MONEY EVER SPENT. I am writing this while I am still eating, there’s a reason it’s still here. Give it a try and find out why it’s still here and GONNA STAY HERE. Welcome to Pilsen. 😤❤️🇲🇽📖
Best mole in the neighborhood . Grandma approved Mexican food. I visit 2 times a week now, atmosphere is calm and friendly.

I tried the chilaquiles with mole. The tortilla chips were the perfect combination soft and crunchy. I would definitely recommend this place. The food was delicious.
I've tasted mole before but this was by far the BEST! It wasn't too spicy and the flavors were balanced perfectly. I even brought my family from out of town and they LOVED their dishes too.
Their Sunday buffet spread is amazing value. Lots of variety, different proteins in different sauces, soups, lots of fresh garnishes, and fruit. The quality of the food did not suffer at all, the meats were so tender and juicy, the mole was top notch. Fresh warm tortillas come with the meal. Everybody is so friendly too.
Ordered from DoorDash. Food was delicious. Got the Enchiladas and Costillas de Puerco. Mole was very well done, tasted homemade, and well balanced, with some heat and a hint of sweetness. Salsa for the Costillas seemed to be de molcajete and the pork was well seasoned and tender. Homemade tortillas were solid and did not fall apart. Overall, some of the best Mexican food. Looking forward to ordering again to test their consistency.
Amazing customer service, amazing food and a great atmosphere in this restaurant
Ordered a mole poblano steak sandwich from doordash. The mole steak sandwich was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Kinda messy but didnt matter since it was sooo good
The service was good, the food full of flavor and generous portions. Good price, will truly visit again if I happen to deliver a load nearby. Pozole soup was amazing, fresh ingredients nice kick of spices, my cold went away. Keep it that way 👉
When you enter you get the feeling of being at home, atmosphere is very welcoming, I got to see the chef of this fine business and he greeted my family with a huge smile on their face, and to top it all off the food here is immaculate, would recommend dining in, this is the best service and food I’ve had in a long while.
I had the horchata, steak sandwich, and rice pudding. All of them were absolutely perfect. The best horchata I’ve ever had. The portions are very generous as well.

I enjoyed the food thoroughly but I wish I had not been there during rush hour, we had to wait over 1 hour and 15 min to finally get our food. The wait was worth it but I was sad that we were given prior notification of the wait time, no buffet and no chips and salsa while you wait. The decor could use some help but then, everyone has their own way of putting up art. I won't be returning as it is far from me but the food was great as were the handmade tortillas. Enjoy!
Hidden gem! Food is excellent, friendly service. Can be a bit slow at times. But that's because there is usually only 2 people working: the chef & the waitress.
0 🌟, $3.75 Each taco Even isn't test good. No air conditioning inside the store I was barely breathe .and it's too hot. Delicious lowkey spot with friendly staff. The mole was a nice mix of spicy and sweet. Stuffed off my plate and 3 tortillas. Stole some green chilaquiles off my brother’s plate and they were also yummy.

Chicken in mole was very good, spicy hot though. It was just 1 wing and half a breast with the back bone attached. So in essence I paid $16 for bones in sauce. Not worth it. The homeade corn tortillas were very good. The place was freezing with the doors wide open on a freezing cold day. Then I understood why. Because when they closed the doors the place filled with smoke. We were coughing and left there with burning eyes and headaches. They need to replace their exhaust fan. Why was this place even open for business. Not going back there.
My mole sample was served cold. Was not as great mole should be. Disappointing. Place could be cleaner. Restaurant was empty. A no-return for me.
I wouldn’t return, i didn’t like the mole chilaquiles not what i expected
This place serves sweet mole. It's too sweet. I didn't think it was mole. I also asked for chicken breast and was almost chocking because it came with many bones. I was starving but couldn't finished the plate
