Everything was fantastic! Food was expertly prepared. Service was quick, available, and professional. Prices were in line for the venue. I'd like to make a recommendation, but everything at the table was superb, so I'm not sure you can go wrong. Get off the fence and walk inside!
Great, classic Italian spot with a warm, traditional vibe. The steaks and lamb chops were truly delicious and cooked perfectly. The servers really stole the show with their old-school humor and fun energy. It was a company dinner, but I’d definitely come back for a personal visit.
Haidon was an AMAZING server he made my birthday experience very memorable. He gave the best hospitality to my grandmother and I during our time here. I will absolutely be returning to this location and asking specifically for him.
The atmosphere, food, and staff were all great. It was easy to get a reservation on the day of.
Authentic Italian flavors and top-notch service! This Italian restaurant in Chicago truly impressed me. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. From the pasta to the desserts, everything tasted homemade and fresh. The service was outstanding. The staff was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and ensured we had a great dining experience. If you’re looking for a genuine Italian meal with excellent service in Chicago, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommende
I was very pleased, although this seemingly is a famous restaurant I had never heard of. It has an old Italian feel, very classy, and excellent food. The wine list was extensive and I had to keep my wife out of my Moscato. Teddy, our attendant was engaging, congenial, knowledgeable, and appropriately attentive with being annoying, a true professional. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic service. We come here any chance we get ! The tortellini carbonara and cheese cake were amazing !!
We sat on the patio after yoga at millennium park. We got the shrimp Alla rosebud (shrimp scampi) and the fried egg plant antipasto dish. Along with some crisp white wine. The service was great and I would definitely get our dishes again.
I had one of the best restaurant experiences at Rosebud on Rush. Reservation online was easy. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was top notch. Angie was the BEST super attentive and kind. We will be back!
I have a gluten-sensitivity - wheat allergy. When I came in, asked our waitress if there's any way the chefs can make me a "deconstructed lasagna"; basically all the yumminess of the filling with the GF noodles. The waitress came back and said the chefs would love to attempt something like that. It was DELICIOUS!! I will definitely be going back when I'm in Chicago again in a couple of months. Everyone there was over the top wonderful! The waitress, the host, the chefs, (obviously). The atmosphere was chill and fun. Pictures are: "deconstructed lasagna", spaghetti & meatball, and encrusted chicken salad.
Classic Italian restaurant. Top notch service by highly trained professionals. Dinners outstanding all prepaired with perfection. Highly recommend.
I haven’t been here in years and typically downtown pricing is what keeps me away. We went for dinner and everything was top notch on our visit. The portion sizes are hugeeee - so if you’re nervous about price, you’ll definitely get several meals out of each dish. Everything was prepared and cooked really well. Our server was attentive and brought us new bread and drinks immediately each time. They changed out silverware and plates and constantly made sure everything was good. The chicken parm is hugeeee and cut up so tender. The short ribs in polenta were fork tender and the polenta was so creamy! Their chopped salad had so many different elements to it and def something you could share. Their drinks were pretty on par with the pricing in the area but I did think they were a bit bigger and definitely a little boozier than other spots near there.
Rosebud on Rush is a great Italian place set in a charming brownstone. The service was exceptional. They made us feel welcomed and like family. The food wasn't short of the superior service either. Top quality Italian that left us satisfied beyond expectation. Thank you for a wonderful experience, Rosebud on Rush!
Incredible service!! We had an issue with one of our dishes and they went above and beyond to make us satisfied. They took time to explain the menu, portions sizes, and recommendations. The Pappardelle pasta (first picture) felt more watery than creamy and lacked flavor so I wouldn’t recommend that. However, the Arrabbiata Cavatelli "8 finger" did not disappoint on its spice level and creamy mariana flavor. The Rigatoni alla Vodka was also delicious. Good portion sizes.
Pretty easy to obtain reservation in River North. You’re greeted with a generous portion of complimentary bread along with olive oil and parmesan. Portions are healthy and delicious.
We are here in the city for a weekend getaway and I was craving pasta/Italian. This location is just one block over from my hotel so we came here out of convenience. I saw they had a Bucatini Cacio e Pepe - which is a simple dish but one of my faves. I order it every time we go to Italy, I love pecorino cheese. What they presented was instead an olive oil pasta with pepper. It was delicious but not what I ordered. I didn’t make a fuss or ask about it because I don’t like confrontation. But pics on this clearly shows it’s an olive oil and pasta dish. The garlic knots and my husbands tagliatelle were both great! Service was friendly and fast. It would’ve been a 5* review had they just been honest and told me they were out of pecorino or that they were subbing it. I would have still kept the order with olive oil. Really hate it when I feel lied to or taken advantage of.
Choose this place based on reviews and availability last minute on a Saturday night. Entire staff need to take a smile/mannerism class. Side eyeing and rolling eyes are unacceptable. We had to flagged them down for more bread. To be honest, food was mediocre at best. Chicken breast was too dry, Alfredo sauce lacked flavor. Only dish that was good was their signature whole chicken. Avoid this place if you have hungry teens with you.
This was some of the worst food I've ever received in a restaurant. We arrived at 9pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was nicely busy. We were a table of 4 and quickly ordered an entrée each and a bottle of wine. We were served a bread basket with slightly stale bread but worse was to come. I had ordered the chicken Milanese which was very bland and absolutely swimming in oil. My friend ordered the fillet selection which was tough and had been over seasoned. The remaining 2 in the party shared the carbonara and lasagna. While I didn't taste either, neither are much and we're not complimentary of their dishes. We all left hungry. This restaurant is very well reviewed so they maybe had an off day but I would not go back
Food was okay but definitely not worth the price. The carbonara was $30 and the sauce was dry and not smooth. The lasagna was not tasty. The waiting staff kept asking us if we were done which put an unpleasant rush on our experience (We had only been there for 45mins). They added a surcharge at the end of the meal to the bill. The Cosmopolitan cocktail tasted like pure vodka, it was undrinkable. Overall, very unfairly priced. The room was very dark I had to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. Would not recommend. Will not go again
Ew. Very low quality Italian food for a very high price. All of the ingredients tasted watered down. Italian food deserves better, please go somewhere else. None of the dishes we ordered were good. We literally were staring at the Giordano’s across the street thinking even that food would have been better and cheaper. It was empty in there, boring. Makes sense. We regretted coming here. Would never come again of my own will.
