Sake offers exceptional value for the price. At just $23, you can indulge in everything on their menu, from appetizers to desserts, for a generous 90 minutes. Despite the concise menu, it caters to all tastes, ensuring everyone finds something to delight in. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of their nigiri and the generous portions of their rolls, surpassing my expectations for an all-you-can-eat experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. I’m already looking forward to returning and recommending this gem to friends! P.S The picture was only the first part of our meal. Forgot to take more
The sushi appetizers absolutely delicious the service was amazing we must have had six different waitresses Waiters didn't have to wait for anything can't wait to go back their rolls are absolutely amazing you can order hand rolls I can list a bunch of things but I'll just say there's over a hundred things to choose from love this place.
One of a kind: truly one of the greatest sushi restaurants I've ever been to. I grew up in the Bay area, lived on a river bank and ate fresh salmon, and traveled to many island and coastal regions. When I say that this is some of the freshest and most flavorful sushi I've ever had I mean it. The staff is incredible, kind and patient with excellent recommendations. The pricing is deeply deeply reasonable for the quality and the atmosphere. Pictured here, my alltime favorite: the Avatar Roll.
Fantastic new restaurant!! All you can eat for $35.99 and this means the entire menu excluding drinks. The delicious seafood was super fresh, properly cut and beautifully plated. Servers were very attentive and always ready to put in a new order for you. This is a really perfect way to try a variety of different types of sushi, nigiri and sashimi! The takoyaki appetizer was absolutely the best we've ever had!! Picture below is tuna and albacore sashimi, the takoyaki, the Pink Lady roll, the Playboy roll, the Pacific Roll and Eel nigiri. The chairs were super comfy but the booths are the old IHOP booths, which are still ok just fyi. You can also order al a cart and the specialty rolls are very reasonable at $13.99. One caveat especially if dining with people that don't like spice, read the descriptions carefully as some of the rolls not noted as spicy, can have some heat, such as the Playboy roll. Lastly be aware to prevent waste and greed, you will be charged a la carte pricing for leftovers you take home, so order what you can eat!
I took my daughter and son today. Service was ok, we did have to wait in between to get our next sushi rolls after finishing. I started with the Black Dragon roll and Mangrove roll, my daughter got the Spicy Angel roll and I ordered California roll but never got it. Then I switched it up to vegetable tempura and miso soup and she went with the Sakura roll. I wanted to try out the Salmon lovers sashimi and that was super yummy as well. For our last, I ordered rainbow fin sashimi that I never got and my daughter got mozzarella sticks and that was it. Overall all the sushi and food we got were all yummy. Service was a little slow at least it was for my daughter and I. They did forget two roll dishes and messed up on my daughter's drink but mistakes are bound to happen. Also it's an all you can eat so even though I didn't get two dishes, it's OK... it's not like they charged by dishes so my wallet was looking good.
If you like sushi and have a hard time deciding, come hungry and get it all. This is the first time in years my whole family got exactly what we wanted and everyone was completely satisfied. I got to try so many different sashimi it was amazing. Amazing quality for "all you can eat" if I've had better sushi I can't remember when
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and everything was perfect. I ordered 3 rolls (Avatar roll was my favorite) along with the calamari, stuffed Jalapeños, and the spicy garlic edamame, 3 seared tuna nigiri, rainbow fin sashimi, and the salmon lovers sashimi. That was all just for me. The calamari was the best I've ever had, and everything else was great as well. Our server was very polite as were the rest of the staff that we interacted with. 5 total rolls, 3 appetizers, 4 sashimi orders, and the option for dessert (we were both absolutely stuffed, so didn't try the ice cream). With the tea and soda we ordered, the total was $100 after tip. I hope this place stays around for a long, long time.
I would give more stars if I could! We ate lunch on a Monday, for the quality of the sushi you can’t beat the price. Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had! The service was amazing as well. A must visit for all sushi lovers!
Just had dinner with my husband and it was delicious! Everything was fresh and beautifully made. The service was quick, courteous and everyone was very friendly. We were very pleased and we will definitely return!
If you want a fine dining experience at crazy affordable pricing and high quality taste and atmosphere, come here. Perfect for date night, perfect if you want to try something familiar, yet extraordinary. It's also perfect for young people, my twelve year old and eleven year old were impressed, excited and had an amazing experience here. Definitely a MUST TRY ✨️
sushi is great and the deal is exceptional. you can order sashimi unlimited, i have never seen such value anywhere. moved away from chico some months ago but i still think about this place daily
Very impressive place! The fish was all super fresh, the rolls well crafted and not at all skimpy, and the service friendly and diligent. OMG, those crispy stuffed jalapeños! Mmm... Worth every penny. Great new addition to Chico!
Glad I came! Amazing service, Sushi was beautifully placed, and great quality for the price. This place has changed my view on Sushi 🫶🏻 great job!
Went here for my birthday with family and friends and the service was great, and the food was good. Really was glad to spend my birthday there.
THIS IS THE BEST SUSHI IN CHICO. I am TELLING YOU. Get the jalapeno poppers, and get the nigiri and the Chico roll. Better than raw bar, better than these more expensive places. I go there all the time. The owner is awesome, the staff is awesome the chefs are amazing. I always come in there with my bag and do tons of work. Please support them we need to keep them open they're brand new. Also BY THE WAY, to the people giving them a bad review because of "store bought ice cream" I don't even know what to say. You come to a sushi place for ICE CREAM? Also that store bought ice cream wasn't too bad, the strawberry especially.
Many servers speak very little English but they’re all very nice
They've got it all figured out! I've visited twice: once with a group of four adults and two kids, and another time with just two people. Each visit, the service was impressively quick—faster than any restaurant I've been to. The fried food arrives piping hot and fresh, and the sushi rolls are prepared swiftly. The Pepper Fin sashimi plate is a must-try, along with the Chico roll and Hot Mama (if you enjoy a touch of lemon). This place is my new favorite!
I wasn't sure what to expect going to Sake for the first time. It was a very nice place and the sushi was good. The all you can eat dinner is a bit like Olive gardens all you can eat pasta bowl. They have a menu, you order a few items, and they bring them to you. Then if you are still hungry you order more items off the menu. The price is around 40 dollars a person not including drinks. But you do get a lot of good quality food. I will definitely go back.
Was such an awesome experience and a great deal for all you can eat sushi.
Fresh, flavorful sushi, fast apps, and at an affordable all-you-can-eat! Many options, the sushi rolls were very good. The fried ones were crisp to perfection. Drinks were just sodas and teas, so that equaled a nice, calm atmosphere. The rolls were coming out a little slow, but I'm sure they'll get faster as this was their first weekend open. As Chico's newst buffet, it exceeded my expectations and I will be returning.
This sushi restaurant is great for the lunch price. Dinner is abit more expensive but you get more options. Been 5x already and always get my moneys worth. Everything taste great. Servers are very prompt. Definitely recommend
My husband doesn't eat Sushi, but he loves eating appetizers here. I love Sushi and I think Sake's sushis are good grade. Our favorite restaurant in Chico now. Service is wonderful, too.
Next time, I will post pictures. I failed in that regard. The food here is amazing. It's not amazing because it's an all you can eat, it's just amazing period! The staff is beyond awesome and so nice, and it is more than one person that helps you. It's a real team effort. The value here is second to none. I know $22 (lunch) and $35 (dinner) might sound like a lot. But if you're eating sushi, you know what a steal this actually is. Would you rather eat McDonalds for $18? Also, if you're not up for the challenge, you can order a la carte plates as well. This is a 10 out of 10. Coming in hot for seconds!
Bang for the buck is amazing. All-you-can-eat Sushi is often accompanied by extras you need to pay for. The assortment of additional items above and beyond sushi that are included is simply amazing, especially considering the price. Do note that when you order the nigiri you will get a single piece (not the 2 pieces common at most other restaurants, easy to adapt just ask for 2 and do not expect 4). Quite a few nice surprises and excellent presentation.
Best Sushi North of Sacramento, The all you can eat is served to order. The staff are friendly, and always there. My glass never got below half full before they refilled it. The atmosphere is nice. The sushi was very fresh, I tried all the fish sashimi and nigiri style along with two sushi rolls. All fantastic.
I never write reviews but I feel compelled to for this excellent restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is fast and accurate, the prices are fair. I always leave feeling like I got a good deal. Without a doubt one of my favorite places in Chico. Thank you Sake!!
I was so impressed by this new restaurant. All you can eat sushi and appetizers. The quality was there for every single roll/nigiri/appetizer. The music playing was so cute and relaxing. Great ambiance and decor. Definitely worth the price and I will come back again. It is a bit chilly inside so bring a sweater
Amazing place, the food is very tasty and they don't fill the sushi with rice, more fish than rice. The music is always pleasant and so is the service. We eat here once a week and the quality doesn't change. I don't understand why some people gave them low marks, I think the competitors are very upset with them here in chico.
Good variety of food at a good price and with lots of kind staff!
This is a great new addition to Chico's dine-in options. Within minutes of taking our seats and ordering our first round, the food kept flowing for the duration of our 90 minute meal. There was hardly a wait between placing our order and the food arriving to the table. The food was delicious - most notably the yellowtail sashimi. The staff was friendly and attentive and I couldnt have asked for a better waitress. Protect this place at all costs. To the other customer who was giving our waitress a hard time as we walked out, kick rocks. It's AYCE not Build-Your-Own-Roll. To everyone else, give this place your business
Took my daughter here for veteran's day lunch. The atmosphere caught us right away, the service was top notch such friendly and knowledgeable staff. And the food was DELICIOUS 😋 not to mention the price👍 We will definitely be back. Hope they last here in chico
The all you can eat is a good deal and the food is very good
This place doesn’t get enough attention or customers, totally under rated. Great sushi, I mean it’s all you can eat, how can you beat that?? Fair lunch prices, love coming here
I may be biased because sushi is my favorite food, but I loved the all you can eat feature. I don’t really know what qualifies as good or bad sushi, but it didn’t make me sick and tasted good, so that’s a win in my book. Overall the price to enter the all you can eat is really nice (for sushi) considering sushi is usually pricey. I think it’s around 30 dollars per person? The staff was very friendly and helped me pronounce some words I had trouble with. And they don’t overcrowd their sushi with rice. It was very full! My only issue was the ai “art” on the walls, as I am a huge nature lover and artist, so I do not support ai. But I understand it’s a small business and budgets can be tight. All in all I really loved this place!
Absolutely loved this place. Ive been to many good places all around the bay area and great sushi and some not-even-close-to-great sushi. Being so far away from water, I have been very skeptical about sushi in Butte county. Ive had some pretty decent sushi in oroville and some garbage sushi there also. In Chico, Ive had better luck. Most of the paces I've had here have been really good. There are a couple of things that take it higher standing to me. Historically, I can't stand sushi that has octopus, squid, or eel. There are so many, SO many, places that do it poorly. I can't stand it. I always take a risk and try it at any new place I go. I ordered 67. Octupus - super good. Tender, sliced, simple, excellent. 59. Nigeri Eel - SO surprisingly good. Prepared so amazingly. Flavor was shockingly good. The only place Ive ever ordered it and actually enjoyed it. I ordered a bunch of other stuff. Everything was delicate, well-prepared and delicious. Stuff was very nice, attentive, great. Restaurant was clean and felt great. The kicker is that it is plate by plate all you can it. That just outs it over That just puts them over the top. Hands down the best placenIve gone to do far.
absolutely fantastic amazing delicious. Rolls and appetizers come quick. Everything fresh and so tasty. I love eating here. This was third time coming (my birthday so I ate free!) rolls: lasted not even 2 minutes from hitting table to gone. Absolutely demolished. Appetizers: Always came out hot and crunchy! Delightful variety. Sashimi: Only had the salmon, but oh my word! So smooth and creamy! Not a singular "fishy" aftertaste either! Atmosphere: Chill and calm. Tranquil. Easy to have conversation. Overall, I just love this place. I always look forward to coming and I make sure to eat until I'm full! Probably my favorite restaurant to go to. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys quality sushi. I'd attach pictures, but we were just too eager to eat to take any!
Sushi is very fresh, presentable, tasty. Loved the salmon wrapped around mango thin slices.
Amazing Sushi! Amazing service!! Amazing value! My husband and I love this place! Our favorite for a date night, the atmosphere and service are top notch!
First time at Sake in Chico and loved it. Food was fresh and tasty, server were friendly and helpful with the menu, she suggested and recommended a couple of rolls with patience, and they ended up being my favorites of the day. The rolls were awsome and impressive, We'll be back for sure.
Okay sushi lover's, this place is a MUST visit. I started eating sushi late in life, in my early 30's back in Lompoc, CA at a place called Oki Sushi. This place for the price was amazing. I highly recommend the Lunch special which is Mon-Fri 11:00-3:30 and it is ALL YOU CAN EAT for $22.99. So after tax and tip you at around $30.00. Of course it does NOT include any drinks. The staff was so friendly and they are from China. My server Lina was so sweet and kind. I believe the chef was Jack. The owner Michael was not there. So I snapped a few photos for this review and again highly recommend this place. They have all the standard sushi rolls and sashimi, but also have unique and original local rolls, like the Chico Roll, Sacramento Roll, and the Forrest Roll (Forrest Ranch), which are just a few I remember from the menu. I actually had the Chico Roll because it was strongly recommended by the group of 4 that had just finished lunch and was standing outside the entrance as I walked up. The older lady told me about how her lunch was free because it was her birthday. The whole story on the "birthday deal" is it is valid for "3 days", the day before and after your birthday, and you must have "3 others" with you for yours to be free.
we came in skeptical and came out impressed! sushi: • tastes fresh • good portions • well presented • good variation! the rolls we ordered: • black dragon roll (my fav. 🤍) • dragon roll • sake roll • sky way roll • table mountain roll • chico roll (my husband's fav. 🤍) appetizers: • takoyaki is piping hot! yummy ~ • vegetable tempura was hot and crispy • edamame was well salted and felt fresh • miso soup my critiques: • miso soup had too much seaweed, giving it a fishy taste. it was cold as well, so i wouldn't recommend • vegetable tempura would be best with a side of broth instead of it on the plate, but it was still delicious! • the young male server needs experience, but you can tell he's probably just shy and trying :) overall, it's totally worth it. great price, great food, kind service. i'd pick this place any day! you can tell this is most likely their first restaurant and it seems family owned. the woman serving us was kind and thanked us very often. we never felt rushed and we felt very welcome. my husband was ordering for the both of us (i'm shy) and she asked if i'd like to order anything. it was nice of her to check on me and i deeply appreciated it. 8/10, this place is great and it's going to be amazing!
Very fast service. food was most satisfying and if you can eat, you definitely get what you pay for
Went recently with a friend, we are both big sushi lovers, had a great time, the service was quick and snappy and staff were very friendly. Options for what we could eat were also plentiful. Top tier sushi buffet. Would absolutely recommend!
Good selection of sushi and complimentary dishes. Unagi over rice all day. They don't have too much rice in their sushi so that helps too. Read some folks' reviews on service...didn't experience it because I went in sort of late so there weren't that many people. Service was good for me.
I loved my experience here! It's a buffet, eat as much as you can! - you're given a menu to order from, and they provide you foods like restaurants! I say, it's better than a normal buffet where you have to stand up to get food. Here, you sit and enjoy your company of family and friends with continual conversations and share foods!! Good for family style dining and good friends to meet up for meal. I say definitely not for a solo diner so you won't feel lonely. The sushi tastes better than I expected! - It's pretty good. I'll like to predict Sake will thrive in the area considering the price and how much you eat to make your bling worth it. I love how they incorporated local street names/local locations as their sushi names. Sushi presentation is nice and clean. The waitress we had was so efficient and came to get more orders. Basically, we ordered, ate, order again, ate etc!! Everything on the menu is fresh and light/heavy as expected from sushi rolls. From appetizer to nigiri to desserts, it's all spot on! Ice cream isn't from the machine - it's a cup ice cream from Wholesome Farm. So, is it worth the $? Yes. Should you try everything on the menu? Yes, only if you can eat it all. You will be charged for leftovers! Why should you come here? To try different types of sushi, try different Japanese foods they have, some other Asian cuisine like chow mien, kimchi on the menu.

I love this place and omg the avatar roll hands down amazing, but I must say the salmon lovers as well as the rainbow fin is also very yummy. Im limited on what j can eat. But I will say its great everytime the sauces are to die for as well. I have had a great variety though here of what I can eat its pretty yummy. All my girls like the place as well.
Not generally a fan of “all you can eat” sushi restaurants but this place was exceptional! We were really surprised how good everything was and the prices are really fair too! These guys really know what they are doing. If you’re a sushi fan you need to try this place. Great job Sake! Keep up the good work!
If you haven't gone you need to. We have gone three times now and we absolutely love it each time. It is such a value. $35.99 for all. You can eat sushi. And they do have other items too. The food comes out pretty quick. It does get busy so I would suggest making a reservation. We have done every time and did not have to wait. The drinks are not included in the all. Can eat price. But boy we really enjoyed it. They make it to order so it's not sitting under hot lamps buffet style. Which was what we were worried about before visiting this restaurant. Again, if you like sushi this is the place to go. We've been really happy every time.

Overall 4.5 stars. Great food, we had the pink lady roll, dragon roll, Sacramento roll, forest roll, edamame, teriyaki chicken, vegetable tempura, and the spicy tuna roll. All for 2 people and man am I beyond stuffed!!! Very good food, only downside was it took awhile for the food to get to the table and we ordered miso soup but it never came. The inside is very nice and has a great atmosphere.
I have been to Sake 5 times since it has opened. The sushi is good, atmosphere is a little underwhelming, and it seems like they purposefully make themselves scarce so you cannot order all the food you want in the 90 minute time limit. Usually I can get 3 orders in before it's time to go. That being said, it's worth the small issues. I would recommend checking it out.
This place is quantity over quality. The type of place I used to go to during my college days when I could really get down. Now that I'm an old geezer, not really my style anymore. Still, we had to try it. $40 for dinner AYCE is not worth it to me. So we ordered a la cart instead. Kids enjoyed it though. Wish you the best of luck, Sake 😊
Went here a week or so after they opened. Sushi/food was good but you can definitely get better sushi in town. Now, comparing it to other sushi buffets/discount sushis I've had, it's really good. Don't expect great quality; go in expecting to get full and eat a vast amount of good sushi.
The food is great, the service is up to par on a regular basis. The only major problem is not the restaurant's fault, but the problem customers. To all you people bringing your babies and small children: Please Stop. It completely ruins the atmosphere. Sushi restaurant's are no place for noise producing tots who are bored and fussy. Having to hear Cocomelon and other Baby shows from all their tablets gives me a migraine. You've turned this place into Romper Room!
The Food was Great, But the restaurant still reminded me of the old I Hop that used to be there. We went for lunch but didn't know that they charge diner prices on all Holidays like Valentines Day. Also you can order A La cart if you're not that hungry for the all you can eat menu.
Comfortable and good price for the all you can eat option. Good for 1st timers or once in a while visit. Frequent visits you may start to notice most sushi taste the same or similar and start to get tired or same style or flavors , so you may need to change your options to avoid that. Is fresh, clean, bathrooms are ok. Parking is fine. Nigiris are good. A la cart is ok but sushi isn't thatt big. 4 rolls for 20 is ok for 2 kids.
This is a solid AYCE sushi place!!! I appreciate that they don’t put a ton of rice in the rolls like a lot of other AYCE sushi places tend to do- making you fill up on rice instead of fish! We got 5 rolls and 4 appetizers and 2 desserts and spent $50 per person including drinks and tip. We feel we got our moneys worth. My only suggestion is I wish they had more veggie rolls, and more dessert items (tempura cheesecake, mochi, etc) they only had ice cream, and not even green tea ice cream. They serve it with a little wooden spoon that literally broke off and splintered when I tried to eat the frozen ice cream. But nobody goes to AYCE sushi for dessert anyway. Give this place a try, especially if you’re hungry and in the mood for sushi 🍣🥢 And be sure to order the chicken katsu because it’s adorable and delicious!!!
Seated Immediately, NOT A BUFFET! This place is all you can eat for 36$ per adult for 90mins. No wait to be seated. Ordered egg rolls, Takoyaki, Gyoza, and California Roll with a Spicy Tuna roll. Food was excellent but as the restaurant is new there was a wait for food to come out due to how busy it was. When food came it was phenomenal, the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The staff service is quick as can be. Loved the whole experience but the service 3 star was because of the 24 minute wait between the appetizer and Main course delivery. Also, important to mention that when you hit your 90 mins the food remaining or that you take home is charged Ala carte. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience solid 13/15 👌
The Food was Great, But the restaurant still reminded me of the old I Hop that used to be there. We went for lunch but didn't know that they charge diner prices on all Holidays like Valentines Day. Also you can order A La cart if you're not that hungry for the all you can eat menu.
Seated Immediately, NOT A BUFFET! This place is all you can eat for 36$ per adult for 90mins. No wait to be seated. Ordered egg rolls, Takoyaki, Gyoza, and California Roll with a Spicy Tuna roll. One of my absolute favorite spots in town! The food is consistently delicious, incredibly fresh, and always comes out quickly. It’s a great place for everything from a solo date to big groups. Since it’s all-you-can-eat, the only small improvement I could imagine would be a simple way to signal when you need something or want to order more versus when you’re good for the moment—like a table sign or tablet. That way service feels smooth without having to wave down a server. Overall, such a great experience and a place I’m always happy to return to!
The food is great, the service is up to par on a regular basis. The only major problem is not the restaurant's fault, but the problem customers. To all you people bringing your babies and small children: Please Stop. It completely ruins the atmosphere. Sushi restaurant's are no place for noise producing tots who ate bored and fussy, having to hear Cocomelon and other Baby shows from all their tablets gives me a migraine. You've turned this place into Romper Room!
The food was tasty. A few we tried just wasn’t to my liking. The service was less than stellar. Our waitress was very nice. She just didn’t come around much. Our dining experience would have been much better had she spent just a little more time with us.
Service was fairly slow, waitress kept skipping over us, the food is very cheap low quality. The fried calamari was good, the takoyaki was pretty doughy with only a tiny piece of octopus in the edge, and the rolls were meh in flavor. Kwandos is cheaper and better. "Big tuna" is much higher quality, better flavor, and maybe just a little more expensive than the all you can eat dinner here.
1. go to "big tuna" it's better this is large amount of low quality food. if you want high quality similar price go to big tuna u can get side order and entre for similar all you can eat price. 1. egg roll store bought poor quality 2. gyoza edible, taste good 3. cream cheese wonton, taste ok has veggies in it 4. teryaki chicken boiled chicken with teryaki sauce..no chicken flavor 5. chico roll low quality taste ok 6. Forrest roll similar to chico roll, meh 7. fried calamari by far best item we found although sauces are watered down.. TLDR: honestly if you eat a lot and want low quality variety come here otherwise I'd just go to big tuna. their crunchyroll easily outdoes all the rolls we had here. 100% overall 6/10..meh
Good food but weird host situation. I went to grab a table for my group before everyone arrived and was looked past, and asked “uh where is everyone else?” I responded and said “oh? They’re coming.” Was then told to wait in the lobby for the rest to arrive despite a nearly empty restaurant. Was then greeted again by the same employee and asked if the 4 people I was waiting on were “bigger or skinnier?” as she was trying to decide if we would all fit in a booth. Again, a nearly empty restaurant. Anyway, I will likely still come and enjoy some all you can eat sushi but was very off-put by the hostess this time around.
I went to Sake for the first time for a friend's birthday. We waited about an hour for our rolls to come out and some of the rolls we ordered in our first round never came out so we reordered them. We had to flag someone down half the times we wanted to order more. It was a little busy for a Monday night I would assume, but it wasn't packed. I'm not sure what happened with our first round of rolls but for it being my first time there it definitely soured my experience.
Food is great but on a slow day with minimal guests it still took a really long time for food to start coming out, what sealed the deal on the low rating is the attitude of the hostess. I was surprised when I was asked if the service was good and why the tip didnt reflect that and kept just repeating why. Definitely left a sour feeling and its unfortunate that we won't be coming back. Just a fair warning.
I walked into SAKE Sushi with high hopes, an empty stomach, and just enough self-control to pace myself for about the first 10 minutes. After that, it was game on. Ambiance: The restaurant has a modern cozy vibe with a bit of anime flair bold artwork (the striking wall art makes you feel like you’re being watched by a sushi guardian), comfy booths, clean layout, and an open view of the kitchen where you can see the sushi chefs doing their thing. It’s casual but stylish perfect for a laid-back dinner or a casual sushi binge with friends. Menu Variety: This place delivers when it comes to options. You’ve got everything from basic rolls (California, Spicy Tuna, Philly) to creative specialty rolls like the Dynamite Roll, Black Dragon Roll, and Dancing Tuna. The all-you-can-eat dinner menu reads like a sushi lover’s fantasy with over 100 items including appetizers, nigiri, sashimi, fried rice, teriyaki, and salads. The Food: Now to the important part: • The rolls: We tried a ton of them to varying degrees of enjoyment. A ton have crabmeat or the spicy tuna which we quickly tired of. They were generous portions and the sauces were good. • The nigiri & sashimi: The Yellowtail was buttery, fresh, and clean no fishy aftertaste. The Red Snapper and Mackerel were outstanding. • Appetizers: The takoyaki was interesting. The garlic edamame was addictively seasoned. The ginger was addictive • Dessert: A simple scoop of ice cream to close out the carnage classic. Service: Friendly and efficient. Plates came out fast, servers checked in frequently without being pushy, and they were happy to give recommendations and bring extra rolls. Price: At $35.99 per person for dinner, it’s a fair deal given the quality and variety. Plus, with the 90-minute limit, it encourages just the right amount of indulgence without feeling rushed.

Food was good, the appetizers are small but good. The rolls are generally good, with some being very good. The menu has a lot of options, almost a concerning amount of options. There are problems with this place however. The interior is very strange, it still is clearly an ihop, with all the ihop decor up. There is pretty questionable art on the wall, low-res and possibly AI, also not very family appropriate. The service was fine, but our waiter kept trying to run from us. He would quickly leave the table after giving us our order. Since it was dead when we went, our orders came out quickly, but our waiter kept placing dishes right in front of people that did not order those dishes. I get it that he did not remember who ordered what, but he could have asked. The price has really gone up since it opened, being almost $40/person. For that to work, and for you to save over ordering to-go al la carte, you have to order 4+ rolls. Our group of 4, with tip and tax was $200 (and we only had water). At that price, I can't recommend the experience.

Came here at 1:30 pm on a Monday, $23 for all you can est sushi is fantastic. We had 4 adults and 2 small kids. Seated immediately. 5 stars on food. Salmon very fresh, all the fish except Tuna was exceptional. Service 1/5. While the man was nice, first thing he did was bring water to our tab...i mean on my lap. Well spilled drinks happen. Whatever. Then we placed our order. I got Gyoza for the kids. Sushi for the adults. Kids didnt get Gyoza for 40 minutes. 40! We kept asking too. So when 4 of us ordered, they brought out all the sushi together so we had a hard time dividing who had what, and lot of sushi was missing too. Other tables around us kept getting wrong orders too. I asked if my White tuna and Seared salmon was coming, he said no its not, here's your check. I asked if it was 90 minutes, he said no it wasnt. So not sure why Im not getting the sushi. But like people said, this place just opened up. And food is great. If they can train their staff better, this place will be a great addition to Chico.
Waitress was super awkward and stood there while we were still settling into our seats. Felt pressured to order immediately. Our first sushi roll came like a minute after we ordered (literally like 60 seconds after we ordered), which makes me believe it definitely wasn’t fresh. Calamari was super rubbery and not appetizing. The cream cheese wontons were great. They don’t have sake because no liquor license, so the name doesn’t make sense. Was handed the check before we even had our full meal and felt pressured to leave. They forgot one of our sushi rolls so we had to remind them. Their ice cream desert is just a plastic cup with a paper lid with a wooden spoon, reminded me of elementary school. Overall, I won’t be back.
We love coming here usually but the last few times we’ve come here it’s hard to get the attention of the servers, especially one man who just walks past us. Anytime we are sat in his section, he ignores us completely and this last time we waited almost 30 minutes with only ordering a couple appetizers. We just got up and left after paying for the appetizers (which were overpriced anyway). It was really disrespectful to customers and we probably won’t be back. The food is good but it’s not worth $80 for two people if we only get 3 rolls because it takes so long to get the attention of the server. Overall, 3/10 and won’t be back
I love their eel sushi the best! I came here a few times to visit relatives, I usually have a good experience here but today I notice when you come in a big group, their customer service sucks. My drinks weren’t refilled, waiters barely came around, and more than half of my order was not served. Other couples and groups that came after us got their food before us. Such a disappointment. They are Asian and we felt like they were discriminating us just because we’re Asian too. Next time, I’ll come with just my little family to see if there’s a difference.
We didn't want to do the all you can eat, so we ordered a la cart sushi from the to go menu. It took about 50 minutes to receive our sushi. Meanwhile every other table was getting sushi every 10 minutes or so. I let the server know that we still didn't have any sushi yet multiple times, and they said they would go check the kitchen every single time. They would keep coming back to the table and ask how is everything? And we would respond with we still haven't gotten our food yet. They were not busy, multiple open tables and it was at 5pm on a Sunday evening. We finally get the sushi 50 or so minutes later and the sushi wasn't even good. We definitely won't be coming back to sake.

Father’s Day around 3 PM. We arrived to Sake parking lot. It was pretty empty with maybe around 5 cars. I was happy to see not many cars, meaning a not crazy pack. Service should be wonderful, Front desk lady super friendly greeted us politely. There were a lot of free staffs becoz again not many customers at that time. However there was one male staff rude, inpatient, n feel disrespected. He ask what we want to drink. My husband said water n lemon, I had my own water in my Stanley tumbler. I said my daughter will be out soon idk what she want to drink. He said 3 waters? Story short. It was our first time there n we been to many restaurants n buffets. This particular time not so wonderful. Everything was a rush. After we ordered 4 rolls n about 4 appetizers. Mind you we were all hungry 3 adults. We ate al that . Another staff came asked what we want, this time we got 2 rolls n two salad. Then after we finished this time. The guy came n was like no more? We haven’t order yet. Before we know he asked if we want dessert. He came bck with 3 individual ice cream cup. A minute went by he came with our check. $120 tip $20 dollar n we barely get to eat . This place is all you can eat we had only total of 5 rolls for 3 adults two salad n ice cream cup. We didn’t dressed shabby becoz is Father’s Day. This is definitely discrimination towards us. Hes Asian n wee Asians. Did he think we don’t tip? Were not beginners at eating out. We go to fancy restaurants. We’re generous tipper if our service were worth it. Maybe I’m over reaction however not now but in a month or so I’m going bck there n see how the service will be. I hope that make can get his act together. Hopefully he decide being a customer service is not for him. We’ll see. I like the place him not so much. Wish I got his name. Whoever you are, you need to work on your customer service n be more patient. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Asian have money n are generous with their moneys if you treat them nicely… 🤦♀️
The food was horrible and made me feel sick in the moment. There was explicit artwork that I was staring at in the backround. We ordered the same thing a second time and it was completely different looking and tasted really bad. People seem nice there but something is really off about this reateraunt. Don’t ever go here I hope I never have an experience this bad at a restaurant again, especially at a place so expensive.
Did nothing but disappoint me. My friend and I didn't even have 1 roll of sushi until 20 mins of us sitting when we ordered multiple. Afterwords I did a little test and ordered myself some NIGIRI and waited for roughly half an hour before we received our TWO PIECES of NIGIRI. In the end we lost our patience of waiting a whole hour to only get a quarter of what we ordered and wanted to leave. There is no excuse of waiting more then 10 minutes of waiting for an order of raw fish. The owner or manger didn't properly apologize, it was the most half-assed apology I've heard in the service industry and the most he really did for us was comp our 1 beer and immediately give us the check when we wanted to leave. Fun fact! There is actually an In n Out behind this location too, take your money and time there instead.
Absolutely terrible service and food. The fish tasted old and chalky. Took forever to get servers attention. Not worth the money. You can eat really good sushi at Raw Bar or Aonami for the same price.
Showed up at 9:40pm and they turn customers away. The sign said 10:00pm. We were going to order for take out. 🙄
Was there for 3 hours didn't get much for the price appetizers two or three items per appetizer. Came in with the large group so that was hard to share when they didn't give you enough. Each roll took about 20 minutes to make. Definitely not going back. Watched a staff member get yelled at right in front of us not very good customer service. Just a heads up I guess they have a 90 minute time limit to eat the food that you ordered and if you don't finish your food they charge you a la carte for the items that you do not eat.
Me and my wife couldnt eat much sushi but thought we gave it a shot. Services and sushi was okay. After we paid and left, a waiter ran out after us to the car and demanded a tip. Killed the whole experience. Oh yeah, they have a 90min timer on you and will charge you if you have any leftovers. Will be the last time going here.
I added a FIVE DOLLAR TIP. After I leave my card was charged and extra 20 dollars. They felt free to just take more than 20%. They stole from me and I will definitely call back and have a long conversation until I get me 15 dollars back
I have had my fair share of sushi restaurants and let me say this one is far by the worst one of all. Bought my little family in for Mother’s Day dinner and wait approximately 20mins before receiving our first (single) roll we ordered upon arrival. Noticed we didn’t receive the other two rolls we first placed. I took on the impression that they were still working on the other rolls. So we placed a second order. 20 more minutes passed. Received second order but still no rolls from first order. Reminder; this restaurant has a food waste charge, so we didn’t want to keep ordering not be able to finish them. I got the waiter’s attention and asked about the rolls I first placed, he said he’ll place it in again. At this point we have wait over an hour for our original rolls that we ordered again for. Instead of wasting time waiting on something that might not even come, my wife and I decided to check out and ask for a discount or some sort of compensation. This is the part that frustrated me the most. The employee that “tired” assisted us stated that “There is NO discount, regardless of any missing food”. Therefore, I ask if could get the missing rolls to-go. The employee rudely stated that there is “NO take-out” and the “ONLY” way for us to receive those rolls is for us to return to our table and wait. This employee was pretty much tell us to go waste more time or go screw ourselves. This conversation goes on for 4-5mins. Fed up, we decide to pay and leave. Overall, this restaurant is rude, money-hungry, and does not care for any sense of customer service satisfaction. Will definitely not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone. Don’t waste your time and money on overly priced sushi that you might not possibly get.
Service was awful, took almost 3 hours to get our rolls and we continuously had to ask for service. When we tried to communicate they were unhelpful and dismissive. And also added an auto 18% gratuity that costed our large party hundreds of dollars for terrible service.
We waited 40 minutes for the first sushi arrived. Your waiter had been dead at least 4 years ago .He had the energy of A dead sloth. The food was average at best. Unfortunately my friends steered in the wrong direction!
Absolutely garbage establishment, no lie. I understand that AYCE sushi is usually sub-par, especially in a land-locked place like Chico, but holy crap dude- this place sets a new lowest bar. Our party of 2 arrived well within the timeframe for lunch, and it wasn't super busy by any stretch of the imagination, yet we still waited for ONE AND A HALF HOURS before we got our FIRST roll!!!! We were about to get up and leave when it showed up, so we sat back down and proceeded to wait another 30mins for the rest of the first order to show up. When we tried to place a second order, it took forever to flag someone down, and when we finally did, the waiter said he forgot his iPad and would be right back. Cue another 15 minutes passing and we just get up and leave- saw the same waiter just milling around in circles like some NPC, not doing a damn thing. As for the food, the fish and most of the ingredients seemed ok, but the rice was HORRIBLE. Super overcooked and overworked into this glutinous goo, and the seaweed was so stale it almost posed as a choking hazard. Also, the rolls themselves are TINY, but I guess that necessarily doesn't matter for AYCE. TL;DR- absurd wait time, poor quality food, and not worth the cost
Food is amazing been coming here for about a year now never once complained or written reviews but man lately the last 4-5 times I’ve came the service is just getting worse and the wait times for only a few rolls takes an hour plus with minimal people eating here management needs to talk to their employees. Very disappointed
Can't really judge the food since we never received any. But the experience was very poor. The menu doesn't really explain how the place works. Had to wait 10 mins for a server to show up and take our drink order, where we asked how the place worked since it's a part time buffet. Instead of fully explaining it to my husband and I she just stated we order food and they bring it to us, then she walked away and started pushing a cleaning cart around... we sat there for another 5 mins baffled and then walked out.... will probably never be back, but you guys should definitely train your servers better
Service took too long waited 3hrs for service. All you can eat was soooo slow only ordered once and full order never fully came. Gratuity was included but I should have declined because of poor service. I will never recommend or return.
You're going to pay this much for 3 rolls? I'd think twice about it. You can't stay for more than 1 1/2 hours, but it takes them an hour to bring you the first roll, almost an hour and a half, and then they bring you two more, but you have to pay as if you actually received everything you ordered. I will definitely never go back.

The sushi quality was great. But the wait for each order took way too long. I have been to other all you can eat sushi restaurants and they would make rolls immediately upon ordering them and get them to you in a timely manner. I was very disappointed in the wait on each order. I am not going back to this place again.
How they handle their customer service is awful. Every time we ordered rolls we had to chase down our server to bring them to us - with a wait time of over 45 minutes each time! Took my friend 2 hours to get his first role I’m not even joking. Couldn’t enjoy the all you can eat when they don’t bring you food, but we charged over $100 due to auto gratuity for 2 people. We saw how they handled other costumers who were frustrated at the wait times and they were very dismissive and rude. Auto gratuity in these situations allows for poor service.
I never write reviews. It’s not all you can eat if you sit there for an hour and 30 mins for your first round. Our food wasn’t served all together. We ordered a lot of appetizers and still had no sushi til an hour later. The last 2 people didn’t get there for til an hour and 30 min later. I understand it was busy but seeing everyone have rounds of sushi while we still had no sushi was upsetting.
