We had the best Chinese food in CDMX at this place. Good quality and authentic Chinese food. The service was very good as well. The price is definitely not low. With same or higher price than LA or NY city. We ordered a pot of jasmin tea for 2 persons and it turned out to be US $20 when the bill came. (Should have asked the price before) . We had to order everything using QR code scan which I didn’t like. Would I return? Yes I would. But I would skip the tea there.
Let me start with our waiters, Mario and Victor, were awesome. The explained each dish we asked about and met every request. My wife had to tend to a business call and they even provided a nice spot away from the music so she could do so. The food - every dish was excellent. It’s difficult to encounter a restaurant were every dish was excellent but I can say it here. I will definitely come back with the family.
Authentic Chinese cuisine (Chinese owner). Suitable for group gatherings (so that you can order more dishes) and banquet dinners. Sister restaurant of Zohe China Gourmet. Portions are quite big. Of the dishes we ordered, there were hits & misses: - 兰州拉面 was solid, noodles taste handmade and the broth flavorful - 小炒黄牛 was delicious; highly recommended - 松鼠鱼 was decent, though slightly too heavy on the ketchup for my liking. Some parts of the fish tasted undercooked. - the peanuts, fried pork ribs, 红糖糍粑 & 醋溜白菜 did not taste authentic in my opinion. Overall a great place to dine at if you are craving good Chinese food.
Service was really good, food portions were of good size and the presentation was super nice. The pasta was spectacular and the duck was really nice, oh don't skip dessert! totally worthy! Traditional chinese flavors with a kick for mexican palates. I would definitively come back.
his restaurant has such a cozy yet elegant ambiance. The soft lighting and live piano music created the perfect setting for our date night. 10/10!"
It's probably the best place for chinese food I have ever tried. Every dish was a pleasure to enjoy. I particularly loved the Chipotle Shrimps. The service was first class as well.
I was surprised to see how the restaurant was packed with so many Chinese people! My favorite Chinese dish, hot and sour soup was incredible. I asked for vinegar and added to the soup. Fried rice was also very delicious. The Peking duck was ok, a bit dry. Next time I want to try the hot pot and flat noodles! Staffs were very kind and professional. Will definitely go back. One thing to mention is that the seats near the windows have an amazing view. However a gentlemen started smoking in the balcony area and even though we shut the doors the smoke was very bad and moved to a table located in the middle of the room. If you have kids or pregnant I recommend you to ask for a table far from the windows.
Without any question, the best Chinese in Mexico. The squirrel fish is super addictive, and their wide selection of soft and hard Chinese drinks makes for a fun evening. The service is top too!
Very authentic Chinese food, we had a great time !
Excellent, top notch, a must try some of the best I've ever had . A must try in Mexico City. Around the side of the building take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Beautiful restaurant.
Very nice place food almost like in china flavor and presentation I love it.......
Authentic Chinese food. Noodles were superb.
Great place for authentic Chinese. Please ask for victor, excelent service and authentic Chinese.
Excellent Chinese food we were pleasantly surprised.
Excellent, authentic Chinese food in the middle of Polanco. Unmatched in Mexico City. Outstanding service from Sergio, Victor and Josep. Do not miss.
Amazing sichuanese style food. Great atmosphere- we sat near the balcony. Portion size is on the generous side.
Great restaurant and great atmosphere
This is the second time I eat here. Everything is delicious! The Hot and Sour Cucumber is delicious, so is the Kung Pao Shrimp.
Amazing food and service from all the staff, specially from Victor, 10/10 , I’ll return as many times as possible 👌
The pecking duck was good. They served it with cucumber, cabbage and a special sauce of ciruela. Such a nice experience.
Pro high end, price is relatively high, good environment, good service
Having lived in Hong Kong for 10ys we were desperate for good, authentic Chinese food, this is the only place that really delivers. It's our third time around and our favs are the Kung Pao Shrimp, the steamed fish and the noodles. Oooh! They are pet friendly as well :)
If you're in the area, definitely check this place out :) When you first walk in the place, the atmosphere and service is 10/10. The people here are very friendly and welcoming! The host lead us to our table and gave us a tour of their speciality drinks (which include asian drinks that tasted delicious)! The dumplings were delicious, the chili oil and their other speciality sauces were tasty, and the soups here were deep with flavor. Definitely stop by! The place is run by welcoming people :)
Very delicious food. We ordered the sesame chicken, beef chow mein and fried rice. They were all tasty. The spring rolls were on point. The service was great. They would even serve our green tea for us. The restaurant was decorated very elegantly. Almost like a piece of art. We really enjoyed our meal and time at this place. We were treated like VIPs the whole time.
We went for my mom’s birthday&the service was amazing!! We had a great time at the terrace&we were able to meet the owner of the place. She had a chat with us&gave us bracelets as presents because of the occasion. We had the duck&it was delicious! Totally recommended!
This place is very good! Authentic chinese cuisine with some of the best duck in CDMX! We like spicy and were not disapointed. The hotpot was great and the location cant be beat. If you want authentic chinese, give this place a try!
Really good and authentic Chinese food. Better than a lot of places in SF and on par with the best Chinese restaurants in NYC (for a fraction of the price). My absolute favorite dish was the eggplant glass noodles. The duck is not worth getting though.
The cuisine is simply amazing. I felt as though I had returned to China. Among our best offerings. Martin, I appreciate your continued professionalism and attention to detail.
The food is just WOW. I felt I came back to china. One of the best services we had. Thank you to Martin to stay so professional and attentive.
It was not possible to get through to the restaurant to reserve a table in advance. However, this does not matter since the restaurant was completely empty on Thursday evening. The food quality is satisfactory. The Peking duck turned out to be cold. Price/quality ratio: overpriced. The service is pleasant.
As I traveled from Toronto it is just in level quality compared to the Chinese food in Toronto. However, the rates are much higher than that in Toronto. Maybe it sites in the rich area with good decoration. By the way, the service people there can neither speak Chinese nor English. It is the pity for the high end Chinese restaurant. It is quite fair to score 4 star I think.
Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Polanco neighborhood with excellent service. We had broccoli beef that was super fresh and tasty. The meat was tender with just the right amount of flavor. Chicken chow-mein was also yum and we were told the noodles are prepared in house daily. All vegetables were crisp too! Prices are a tad high but you know that by just googling the restaurant and reading the menu. Reason for leaving out a star is due to the horrible asian music playing. Worse than elevator music. Can I suggest what they play at high end restaurants in the states? C-pop dynasty- with more upbeat tempo😊.
It offers a very large menu, covering Sichuan, Canton, some Dongbei and Huaiyang dishes, shaokao, and hotpot. The variety of food makes it impossible to really review just once. From what we had, the chef had a good handle of Sichuan dishes. Well balanced chill oil seasoning, good use of dry and oil spices. The Peking duck was mediocre, mostly limited by the duck itself (basically not fatty enough to be real Peking duck). But from several fatty slices, the taste is very good. Overall, the beef dishes were a bit chewy. The Lanzhou pulled noodle can certainly have better soup base (MSG concentration is a bit high). Overall, very nice Chinese restaurant! 烤鸭的葱丝可以斜切断筋,片皮可以更薄一些,面酱有些过稀。但总体味道很正。
Chang An was a wonderful experience. Located in Polanco on the second floor, very nice restaurant, well done décor and ambiance. We went as a family of 8. We started with Soups, both the Hot and Sour and the Won Ton Soups were amazing. Both the Hot and Sour Soup and the Won Ton Soup were excellently done, bold flavors, hot, and full of deliciousness. We wish they would have large family style options as most all the food options are individual sizes. We also had the Fried Won Tons which again were very good, however the Sweet and Sour Sauce we had to request and the only brough one small dish for the 8 of us which was a bit disappointing. We also had two orders of Dumplings, Shrimp and Pork, and also the Pork. These dumplings were the best we have had in a long time, they exploded upon opening and were so flavorful with bold flavors, juicy broth and you just wanted to keep eating them. We would return just for the Appetizers we ordered; they are that good! For main entrees we had the Mongol Beef, which I really liked, the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was different than any I had tried before, the chicken breast cut in thin strips. This dish I found was a bit lacking in flavor overall but still not bad especially for Mexico. We had the Honey Sesame Chicken as well, same thin cut chicken breast, had a bit more flavor than the Sweet and Sour, but still could use a bit more flavor in my opinion, but again still a good option. We had the Prime Beef and Asparagus, which had more of the thick asparagus stalks than anything else, this was the least impressive and most expensive of all the dishes, and several of the beef bits were cut very large making them more difficult to eat. Service was OK and could certainly be improved. Overall, very good Chinese food in Mexico is hard to come by, and Chang An although the prices are on the high side, we would certainly recommend and we would return and eat soups and dumplings and would be very happy!
I have many expierence china restauantes all of the world. Here is ok but some food is under my expectation. Especially, beijing duck is so so...and different style of others. Mapa tofu ok...res, carne...so so. Fish...is normal. Overally...I will try one more time for other menu.
My friend and I went to here for a feast lol !!! Yup, we are sichuanese. TBH, I gave 6 out 10 for their food. Service are attentive as well
Decent restaurant offering genuine Chinese for in Mexico city. Food was quite decent, but the price doesn't reflect the quality or amount. Potential price inflation due to the location, Polanco
Manager is nice, but service could be better, mainly due to communication gap among the Mexican and Chinese employees. Food tastes could be a lot better considering the price that they charge.
This is the authentic Chinese food. The taste is not bad. Above average level. As a Chinese who lives in Canada, I was a bit shocked by the price. It’s pricey. But at least this is real Chinese food, and I would like to recommend to others. I gave 3 stars because the beef rice noodle is way too spicy… and the noodle is too hard. I have normal spicy tolerance level. The noodle is the most spicy food I had for years…I didn’t finish it. My stomach felt so uncomfortable until the next day… Please make different spicy levels so that people can choose based on their preference. I don’t think most people can tolerate the spiciness…
I consider myself very lucky to have eaten really good and authentic Chinese food and this is not it. The Pequín Duck was decent, served with the authentic “crepes” correct garnishing and sauce, but not cut correctly. The rest of the food was really bad, the service was awful and place although nice needs some care. I was sad not to find a proper Chinese restaurant.
Having lived in China for 3 years, this restaurant is overall disappointing. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Food was extremely overpriced (even in Polanco standard) and dishes were hit and miss. Dumplings were the worst I had in a long time. Kung Pao chicken was ok and green beans had actual numbing peppers in them. Noodle dish tasted american chinese take out. I will not go back and I recommend you simply don't go.
I don’t think the quality of food worth the extremely expensive price. The price is 30% more than the prevailing price in United States. And the service is also terrible. They didn’t provide me with the straw and napkins. Fried rice is 22 Us dollars and mineral water is 6 US dollars. This price you could have enjoyed a very decent japanese food in Dallas downtown.
Absolutely the worst Chinese food. I’ve had anywhere in the world. Presented very nicely, but tasted horrible smothered in salt
really bad, stay away at all costs. I ordered just 2 items: Half Peking duck and 3 Moon cakes. the portion arrived is insulting to say the least. what type of duck that half of which barely gives 200 grams of meat? my scale shows even with the plastic container and the veggies, it's at 283g... the moon cake is smaller than the bottom side of a solo cup, and they charge you 99mxn each. so 3x moon cake scrumbs cost 297mxn... the 2 items i ordered set you back +1000mxn. a complete rip off.
The online reservation system is ridiculously unreliable. We made a reservation online but on arrival were told that there's a private event tonight so they are closed to the public. When you run your restaurant like this, however delicious the food seems like cannot make up for the reservation system they provide.
The worst service I have ever met! I made the phone call to them twice for asking if they provide the delivery service, a lady who answered the phone and said no, then hung up rudely, NO RESPECT FOR GUESTS AT All! So I would give them negative points if I could.
We came to this restaurant because seeing many good reviews, but the truth is that the food is really not good for the level of price. The dim sum that we ordered came first frozen inside, the second time skin came off once you touch. The quality is worse than the frozen ones that people get from supermarket. The other 2 meat dishes were also not hot, without question, they were not made fresh. And lastly vegetable had no taste. I cannot believe the quality of food for this level of price that they are charging. Very disappointed, we couldn’t finish eating and left.
We had high expectations for what seemed a real Chinese experience. However, the food was not tasty, some dishes were decent, others were really far from expectations. The service was lame. We were seated by the terrace overlooking gorgeous jacarandas (the best part of the experience), but we could wait for more that 10 minutes for anyone to come at any given time, and could not make good recommendations. The worst thing, it was extremely expensive for what it was. A few samples, half bottle (375ml) of Casa Madero Shiraz 1,100 pesos, duck 1,550 pesos… Hunan is half the price and twice as tasty.
The wonton soup was wonderful and after that total disappoint the sesame chicken was horrible I feel violated for the price one review said it's not Panda pavilion and they were right! Panda pavilion is better.
Best duck in CDMX hands down. I am from Queens NY, and the food here is as good as the chinese you will find in Flushing NY. highly recommend
