Our food and service was absolutely awesome this morning.
Friendly atmosphere. They got the best breakfast
Great little diner! The food was great and the service was even better. I’ll definitely be going back.
First time here, and I've lived 2 towns over for years, this place is really a great treat!!!! My burger and fries were 10/10. I got the cleburne burger and added bacon. Highly recommend this place.
My favorite breakfast and brunch place in Johnson county! I have been coming here for more than 20 years and it doesn’t get old! Love the atmosphere and love to see the lil train go around above us. Always try your best see on the “SWAU” table to represent! Love the servers and the owner always there with a smile.
Feels like coming home. Reminded me of a favorite family restaurant when I was young
I absolutely love this place. The pancakes are so good and they’re huge! The staff is always very welcoming. My kids love the train that goes around the restaurant. The atmosphere is very homey and I enjoy the vibe for sure. I did have one experience where the waitress put strawberries on my kids pancakes and I didn’t ask for them. When I got to the register they charged me for them which irked me quite a bit. Nothing should be added to an order and charged if it wasn’t requested. I paid for it and didn’t say anything because we did get it and they did eat it. But that was a terrible practice in my opinion. Still giving 5 stars because that was an isolated incident.
What a great little hometown place. We were just passing through and happened to drive by this place and said, “Let’s check it out!” And I’m so glad we did. I had a pancake breakfast and my friends had the corned beef hash and a steak and egg breakfast. It was all delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive, and even though the place was packed, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Would 100% recommend!
Fantastic atmosphere, our kids love the train. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The food is always hot, tastes great and comes out fast. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
My husband and I ordered the breakfast Specials #4 & #5. They were both delicious. The service was impeccable. Our coffee cups never ran dry. The atmosphere was good; busy with a low rumble of friendly conversation. I highly recommend to the one who enjoys a home cooked meal.
We have been eating here since 1981 and honestly I have NEVER had bad food or service! Breakfast lunch and dinner (supper) are always DELICIOUS AND CONSISTENT!! I'm very picky about chicken fried steak and Chaf In is in the top 3 !! Also you are sitting in a piece of Johnson County history! Not enough space to list the great qualities of this business! Daily Lunch and breakfast specials! ❤️
Hubby and I were on motorcycles, and looking for a place to eat, this restaurant had what seemed like a sea of cars in the parking lot so we decided to check it out... it has a diner like atmosphere and the owner was polite, friendly, and very accommodating. The restaurant was packed, and while most owners would be flustered and servers tired, it was nice to see that this place was not that way. The menu contained every imaginable home cooked meal, sure to suit the tastes of the most diverse dining group, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend. Also... love the American Legion across the street!
Great diner-style menu options, & they serve breakfast all day. A must try for an ol'style, hot & flavorful, diner meal with large portions & great customer service! Great value, too. Six adults enjoyed a full breakfast and drinks for just over $50. Every time we're in Cleburne, this is one of our MUST STOP spots to enjoy a quality meal.
The Meatballs are delicious. Not many places can season meatballs and not make them hard as a rock. They are not skimpy on their food. I can never finish the spaghetti plate. It's a quaint little place with excellent service. The double burger is quite large and tasty. Chicken fried chicken is the size, if not larger, than the plate. Its just a great little diner, well worth the trip.
Chaf in is my go to spot. So clean, waitresses are so nice. The owners are so thoughtful and care about their customers. I dont feel like a customer i feel like family. Food is so good i never leave with a take out box bc i always finish my food! Great prices, excellent service and delicious food! What more could a pregnant girl ask for. Thank u chaf in! I will always reccomend you and eat here!
Awesome environment, very nice friendly people, always willing to help, and a great environment, for friends, and family.!!!!!!!! Best Breakfast Ever.!!!!!!!!
The last time I was here was in 2014. Every Saturday, from 2012-2014, I would have lunch and nosh on the veggie burger. The veggie burger is house made and the best, I've had anywhere! This time I came with my wife and two grandkids. My 3 year old grandson was so fascinated by the train going around the ceiling that he didn't want to eat. This 100+ year old café is a true café experience. The service is great, the food is awesome and the ambiance celebrates the train stop history of the town of Cleburne. This is a must visit for everyone!
This restaurant has really good food, and the prices are great. I eat here after church every Sunday. The omelettes are amazing.
This place is off the beaten path. The service was great, and it is a down home place. The food was in large quantities and was excellent. Great place to eat. There was 6 of us all eating different things. I had a breakfast. Good anytime. Others had a variety of foods. Everyone loved their food
The restaurant was clean, friendly atmosphere and our waitress was very attentive and checked on us regularly. The food came out quickly, it was hot, and delicious. Portions were surprisingly large and I was not disappointed!! Highly recommend!!
Great hidden gem. The food comes out fresh hot and fast. My kids will love the frontier railroad style when I come back with them. The whole place is charming and makes you feel at home. Staff is friendly and gave us all the time we needed when my wife mentioned it was our first time there. My drink was never empty and I left full. 10 of 10 I will be back.
The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. Everyone in our party of 7 had a different entree and all were delicious. We definitely recommend to all. Thanks and we will be back!
I consider myself lucky to have found this Absolute Gem of a restaurant/Cafe!! The Food - Excellent the best breakfast I’ve ever had from anywhere so good in fact i probably won’t have breakfast anywhere else ever again! And will be back to try lunch and Dinner at some point… The Service - Terrific they were on point! Polite, nice, fast, and you are not finishing your drink before they are asking you if you need a refill absolutely 0 complaints! The Atmosphere - Beautiful everything about the decorations and set up just makes you feel cozy and comfortable 🥳🥳
Neat place in Cleburne, good chicken fried steak. Going back for the pies next time- they had coconut cream- my favorite! Cool train runs on a track up by the ceiling! Been in business over 100 years!
Awesome, amazing, stupendous, atmosphere and people the food is great
Ive never had anything here I didn't completely finish. Everything is good. It never disappoints.
I love their breakfast specials! Always a good price and delicious food. Their biscuits and gravy are a must. Biscuits are made in house daily.
Hey, weary US-67 traveler: are you tired of crummy gas station food and craving some real cuisine? Do your eyes need a rest from looking out for the seemingly endless speed traps? Well, look no further than Chaf-In. This place is pretty popular, so parking is a bit hard to get once you get there, but once you're inside, you'll be greeted with welcoming, antique-feeling décor, my favorite of which is the model Union Pacific train running along the rafters. You can just take a seat wherever, and someone will be with you rather quickly, usually within a minute or two, to take your drink order and give you their menu. They have a rather large menu with all the diner classics, plus some novelties. Breakfast is served all day, but so is lunch and dinner for that matter. About the prices: I got a 6oz steak, sunny side up eggs, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy for $9.99. Despite that price, there was absolutely no compromise on quality. In fact, it's easily some of the best diner food I've had. It's easy to see why this place has been around for over 100 years. Perhaps it would be wise to drop in to this place before it gets on Guy Fieri's show and they raise the prices. All-in-all: it's a great place with excellent food and a very welcoming environment. It's more than worth the short diversion off of the highway.
Really nice little family owned restaurant in Cleburne, TX, it has a train that runs around the ceiling while you are enjoying your meal. If you are any where around Cleburne or Godley or Burleson Texas you need to go visit them and try their Fish.
Food was delicious and warm . Felt like i was eating in my mamas house. Everyone was so welcoming.
Starie was my waitress and she was on her game she tool such good care of all her tables it was impressive ! I had soup and a salad, tea , and the liver the special changes everyday and I’m going back tomorrow It was that good and easy on the ol wallet and laid-back Enjoy…
Cozy down home atmosphere. Food is homestyle cooking like Grandma use to make. I'll be back, often.
As having lived in Cleburne Tx for 18 years during the fifties and sixties, my wife and I wanted to show our neighbors from Ohio around the area. We had lunch at the Chaf-In, a restaurant over 65 years old. It was very clean and has been kept up over time. Our server, Elizabeth, was very friendly and wore a mask. Food was served quickly, hot and fresh. After lunch we showed our friends around town and told them some history. A must see are the murals painted by Stylle Read. I met Stylle in Fort Worth years ago and he is a very unique individual. The weather was great and Cleburne was a good place to escape the metroplex for a few hours. You should go.
Absolutely LOVE this place! Staff was accommodating, food was great, and Santa Fe Railroad decor was fascinating!!
Terrific experience on the Thanksgiving holiday meal. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly and timely, even with the high traffic of patrons. Check out was quick and easy. Parking was easily available for handicapped and regular parking patrons. There were a few menu options for those who are vegetarian. The atmosphere was not too loud where you couldn't talk to your guests or table neighbor. The pricing was reasonable and competitive with others in the area.
Super cute restaurant with a train running around overhead. Calm, relaxing atmosphere. I had the blt with avocado. It was delicious! I should have ordered the fries well done as they were disappointingly uncrunchy. My waiter was a nice, young man. The pies sounded tasty, but I ran out of room. Lol.
I came here by accident, looking for another restaurant. however, I believe when I’m over in this area, I will eat here quite a bit. The food is excellent and the service is absolutely stellar and Scarlet is an absolute superstar and deserves everything good life brings to her.
We've been going to this diner / Cafe as long as I can remember. It's as stepping back in time and is a part of historical places in Cleburne. Good home cooking flavor. Breakfast available all day plus they offer a wide variety of other great meals and have both Breakfast and other daily specials. The waitresses are some of the best for the most part and you are offered drink refills often. It's been a consistent pleasure that you can continue to good food and service for a reasonable price. How many other places can that be said of? When packed, can be a bit noisy but that's because everyone seems to be enjoying being there. There is ample parking which wraps around the building. You owe it to yourself to give them a try if you've never been there but if you live anywhere near Cleburne; then, you probably already know what I'm telling you is the truth unless your stuck on new style places that usually overprice and disappoint you with food quality. They are open early & close late 7 days a week. Again one of our old fashioned places to go, & Love. Pray that they stay forever.
This place was such a cool surprise to stop into w the family. Our server, Brandon, was incredible and went above and beyond to be sure we had a great experience. We had a couple of dishes we split, and Brandon brought them out already divided onto their own plates. Will definitely be back! The Cleburne burger was so great!
Not a fan of their biscuits and gravy (super mushy and bland) but everything else I've tried here has been really good. The service is always attentive and friendly, its popular with locals for a reason.
This place always has wonderful! My favorite dish from them is the avocado and seasonal fruit salad, with chicken salad 😋😋😋😋 so so good😍😍😍 and worth every penny! This place is a staple in Cleburne Tx. With all the vintage clocks, and pictures on the walls, and the train that runs through the top part of the wall, close to the ceiling. It's so cool, and like going back in time. The ppl are ALWAYS kind, and the owner is always there with a smile on her face. The food really is the best!
Great breakfast spot, I go here all of the time, I love their service & food delivery times, the waitresses are on spot & ready to give you a refill & make sure your food is tasting good! Highly recommend this spot for breakfast!
We all (family with highschoolers) absolutely love this restaurant! The atmosphere is so much fun and the service is fantastic. It's like stepping back into 1995. The food is very simple but it's consistently well prepared. This is one of our favorite family dinner spots even though it's a bit of a drive for us. 💕
First time eating there, the food was great, big portions!, service was great Brandon was our waiter, very patient. Really unique atmosphere, complete with a model train that runs around the ceiling!. They are a family friendly place! Get there early, they get busy!
Great cozy local diner restaurant with historical ties to Cleburne dating back to 1920. Imagine eating at an establishment that’s 125 yrs old! Food is great. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast prices are very reasonable. They have a great Steak & Shrimp dinner plate. They also have pastries and pies. Step into the past and give the Chaf-in restaurant a try. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
We went here about 6:30am on Sunday and the place already had a couple of tables seated and eating. Service was great. Our food came fast and was good and came as expected. Great down home type of atmosphere and electric old style decor. This is definitely a place I would frequent with it being such a relaxing comfortable environment. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times even with her managing a handful of tables already.
Wow! This place is great!! I got chicken and waffles and hubby got cheeseburger. Both very much enjoyed our meals. The coffee was some of the best we've had!! And they don't try to take advantage of people either. Can't remember the last time I paid 1.89 for a beverage. Breakfast all day is a huge plus!
Had a great early morning breakfast! Enjoyed their #2 special, pork chop breakfast, which was extremely flavorful. The hash browns were crispy and the star of the plate. The coffee was fresh and the staff were extremely friendly. The prices were beyond reasonable for a family of three. check this place out whenever you're in the Cleburne area.
Came to this chaf-in based on looking over Yelp and getting a recommendation from a museum employee in town. - First thing is the fact there's plenty of parking - the menu is very basic - the restaurant is pretty small but cozy I ordered just breakfast as was quite satisfied as was like a home cooked type of meal. Highly recommend
I found this restaurant by accident while looking for another one. I am so glad we stopped here instead. I was surprised that I couldn't find one fault, the food was great seasoned just right even the sweet tea was on point! I never find sweet tea that is perfect! I was really impressed when I asked if I could get the dressing that came with a different plate and our waitress, Danielle, said that was no problem. And it didn't cost extra either like some places. She was great and knew all the history of the place and the owner. And I give her props for keeping a smile and great attitude because she was working it while pregnant!
Great place to the service is great and we mainly go there for breakfast the food is very good! We love the atmosphere there!

Super sweet mom and pop. Service was AMAZING! Our waitress was new, but I thought she did awesome! Everything was good. Love that breakfast is all day because we stopped in for breakfast at dinner! We were too late for the much talked about pie, but we'll try next time! Make sure you take the time to read the history on this place. Neat story!
I loved the food. It's an old fashioned dinner with well prepared classics. I got salmon croquettes which were delicious. My husband got liver and onions but a bit short on the liver otherwise he liked it. Hush puppies were good, long and thin, not the traditional shape and we're perfectly cooked. I will be back for sure.
This was our first time here, we are moving to Whitney and past through to eat. Their hamburgers are really good, fries could be less greasy but really no bad complaints on our meals. The drinks though was why I didn’t give it a 5 star. It tasted like grass… so we asked for a fresh drink, still the same. We googled about the water and seen Cleburne has algae in their water from the lake. Regardless if they have a filter, you’re going to taste it. It’s not harmful but when you want a good drink, this place isn’t it. I will definitely recommend for food though👍
Cute, old hometown type diner with some history of the town. The waitress was phenomenal! The food was so bland, no spices, no flavor. The baked chicken that I ordered was cooked so nicely and I would have really loved it, except that I don't like dark meat and that's what they delivered to me. The waitress hadn't asked me about white or dark meat and maybe they only do dark meat, I'm not sure. I could have overlooked it on the menu, or it was all they had. The soup of the day was absolutely worth the visit and I'll visit for the soup again!
The staff and manager we're all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and a good value. The atmosphere was a plus. What a wonderful history the restaurant has and it's played up well. It seemed like taking a trip back in time to the 1940s or 50s. And for us, that was a very good thing.
Really cute and quaint atmosphere. All over the walls and tables are train-themed items since the town is known for trains. I ordered the veggie omelette that had spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheddar. They blend the omelette instead of just putting the fillings on top. The best way to make an omelette in my opinion is to blend, so I was very pleased with what I received. They didn't skimp on the fillings either, so it was very filling, but not too much for a meal. It came with hash browns or home fries. I opted for the hash browns and they were ok. It came with a salsa that had a little bite for the meal. It also came with toast, but I chose not to have that (gluten free not by choice). The waitress was brand new so she had to ask the kitchen some questions, but she wasn't afraid to say she didn't know and would get that answer for me. All in all, the meal was pretty good. The atmosphere was really good and relatively quiet. If I'm in the area again, I'll eat there again for sure!
Food was delicious, wait time was short, cozy atmosphere, and the waitress was amazing! There were a few flies circling around where we sat and could have used a little more mayo on my grilled chicken but honestly nothing to keep us from coming back especially since our waitress went above and beyond! We ordered fried pickles for appetizer then a grilled chicken, breakfast special #1 with fries instead of hashbrowns, two kids breakfast , a kids burger, two large drinks and three kids drink. All for $49 even without tip. Definitely try this place out if you have not yet!

Delicious food and great price for items breakfast never disappoints love how welcoming the restaurant is
Loved it,! Great selection including breakfast served all day. Good catfish. Liked it so much we returned the next day.
Loved it,! Great selection including breakfast served all day. Good catfish. Liked it so much we returned the next day.
I was hopeful this would be hidden gem. The reviews prior are accurate, the food is cafeteria style and taste. The staff however was super nice. It seemed like there was lots of locals and I guess …
Local restaurant came for dinner Friday night 5pm. Hardly no customers Ordered the steak special, not lean enough for my taste. Shrimp 4 seem to be old ...The sweet potato was over baked too mushy. Coleslaw had too much cream wet ..I wanted to strain it but good flavor. husband ordered fries w his grilled ham cheese .fries were limp ..they were cooked but soft unappealing... Chicken tortilla Soup was great 👍 Server was attentive to everything we had.
The food was mediocre. Spaghetti was mushy and the burger overcooked. The coconut pie was not like anything I’ve ever had before. I wouldn’t even call it coconut cream pie. It was not good. The staff was very pleasant, though, and the waitress was very attentive. We definitely won’t go back. There were only two cars in the parking lot when we got there. That’s usually my cue for going somewhere else. Should have done so this time, as well.
I was really excited to eat here, I always love to try a place with history. The atmosphere was retro as expected and the staff were super friendly and attentive. I ordered the steak breakfast and everything came in a timely manner with properly cooked over easy eggs and decent hash browns. My meal fell down when it came to the chicken fried steak and gravy. The breading lacked seasoning and wasn't crispy, the gravy was standard powder mix white gravy. Not the worst breakfast but not the meal I was hoping for.
Had to sit at 3 tables before we found one that wasn't really wobbly.. ..not sure why owners wouldn't just fix them, they knew they were bad. The people are over the top friendly and the mediocre review is no reflection on their kindness, just a couple suggestions that would make it better. Hubby had chicken fingers, fries and salad. He said all was good except gravy was watery. I had the grilled chicken salad which was ok, but all iceberg lettuce (ugh- worst kind to use, no flavor & no nutrients). We shared an order of jumbo onion rings that I guess were made in house ...... just buy the breaded frozen ones, these had very thin battering and could see more onion than anything. Lastly prices online are not current. We don't live in the area so not sure we'll be back, but service and people are good and the fixits are minimal, hope this is rec'd in the spirit in which it was given. 😊
In my honest opinion..food was bland. Corn bread was flavorless but maybe that's because I'm used to Jiffy sweet corn bread. The salad came out room temp/warm. I had the CFS and without gravy, hot sauce or ranch, it was bland and flavorless. Others had the cat fish and some had the nachos...the chips for the nachos were burnt and their cheese is melted Shredded cheese. This was our first time there and I'm not 100% sure we would return. The staff and pricing was good but I just can't get past the flavorless food 😔
This place is not handicap accessible parking , restrooms, or seating friendly. The food was good and hot. The service was good. Don't order the coconut cream pie it has no flavor and the texture is lumpy. Not good at all!
04/29/2024 Lunch. Went for a late breakfast or an early lunch. My wife had breakfast and I had lunch. She thought the steak and eggs were ok, nothing special, and I didn't think she would order it again. But, she did eat the entire thing! I had the chicken pot pie and it was good. Surprisingly good. The place was a bit dirty, like everything needed to be cleaned. So I was thinking the pot pie might not be so good. But it was. Better than I expected. It came with 2 forgettable corn muffins. An interesting item was the model train that ran on a track up by the ceiling. And our server was very good. If rate the meal somewhere between average and very good. Excellent: Uniquely satisfying. A special place. Very Good: Better than expected. Avg: An everyday experience. Just OK. Fair: Below par. Dirty, smelly & or flies.
Food was ok. The bacon was cold, biscuits were really heavy, thick and some what hard (we did not eat biscuits) as to light and fluffy. Chicken and waffles were delicious. The other thing is we stood at the door for a good while no one asked if it was our first time, they just looked at us as lost as we were. A family came in behind us and I asked them if it was there first time (which it was not) they told us we can sit wherever it was open. The atmosphere is pretty cool, waitress was nice but the food did lack.
Food was better than expected. I had steak and eggs. It's supposed to be a New York, but I can't verify that, but it was good and cooked to order. Home fries were greasy. Rye Toast was thick and go…
2 stars just because of the staff were super nice. The food on the other hand, was really horrible, the chicken fried steak was hard and tasteless and for some reason there was water on my plate, which created a weird looking small lake of tasteless food. It's hard to believe, but I had a better breakfast at Denny's
Well I had much higher hopes for this place. Menu said that they had a holiday turkey and dressing special that was $12 but when it was rung up it was $14 almost 15. My sides were sweet potato and honey carrots they were cold. The best thing about my meal was the fried pickles on the appetizer menu. My wife could only eat the sides that she ordered with her meal. I might give them another chance having breakfast there I've heard their breakfast are great
I've been there 3 times in the past 3 to 4 years. I remember the first time was great. The last 2 times was not so good. I paid 17.00 for Roast beef with gravy with fries. I got 3 paper thin slices of meat about 4 inches in diameter; and the gravy was like water. The fries was so so so soggy and the whole plate was Luke warm . I ate all but it had little to no flavor. I did give a tip as it wasn't his fault.
Just had breakfast here today. We seem to always get this one unfriendly waitress. Not sure if her name is Martha, or Maria. Got our orders wrong, and she made us feel like it was our fault. Asked for no butter on our toast, and it's like they put extra butter. Watched our food sit on top off the counter while she was eating. My food was cold. We ordered curly fries, and got regular. When we complained she snatched the plate dumped the fries off and brought it back to us. The wait staff is great other wise. Won't be coming back here for breakfast. Well update. Benny is no longer the owner. There's a new manager/owner. New wait staff. Martha is still there. She won't be going anywhere. Yes we returned after a long period. Breakfast was fair. Prices are fairly competitive. Owner is easy going and friendly.
I used to absolutely LOVE this place (especially for their soup). But I guess this is another place that suffers from the current trend of terrible quality in food serving. I ordered the "1/2 sandwich, cup of soup and cup of fruit". The pic shown is my "vegetable soup". As u can clearly see, it's ALL GREEN BEANS!!! I had ordered this to go and I had to take it back inside after getting to my vehicle cuz the sandwich was ice cold, and they put the "cup of fruit(no cup)" INSIDE the container with the sandwich which was then coated in sweet juice from the fruit spilling over!! THIS is just da** ridiculous!! Won't be back! I hope u guys come around to improving, small businesses are suffering right now. Good luck!
First, the service was great and it has the feeling of a classic rural eatery. The food seemed very bland. The clientele seemed to be older, so maybe they are catering to the low-sodium, low spice, no-flavor crowd. My wife had the chopped brisket platter. It came with potato salad and beans. It looked like dog food. The BBQ sauce was watery and flavorless, they have the only potato salad on the planet with no relish in it, and how you can do beans that have no taste is a wonder, but they pulled it off. I had the Cleburne Burger. No complaints there. It was tasty and the bun was delicious. But they had the worst fries I've had in a while. Undercooked, limp and zero seasoning. They have 24hr breakfast, so I expect that's where they must shine.
After reading the good reviews for this restaurant I decided to try it. I was very disappointed. I had the fried fish and it had absolutely NO TASTE. The service was great but the food not so much. I had company that week-end and we decided to go there again for breakfast the next morning. I figured the night before was just a one off and who could mess up breakfast? Well...they could and did. The eggs, ham and hash browns had so much grease on them that they weren't really worth eating. Again, the service was GREAT but the food, again, not so much. We should have just gone to iHop I guess. I really wanted to like this restaurant due to all the reviews. Maybe they are having trouble getting cooks, I don't know, but I decided not to give them another chance.
This place was not that great people say it is. Ordered a open sandwich steak. The breading was ok, no seasoning salt less fries. But the Belgian Waffle was the one decent thing here. And it's hard to order food when items on the menu were scratched off and work out. Also the service was bad. Waitress looked like they didn't want to work that day. Never again, I'll just pass by and get Jack in the box instead.
Loud rock and rap music and hard to talk. Food wasn't worth it. And the waitress seems to have a chip on her shoulder. Never again. Just a tourist trap not open because of good food

Worst food of my life. The chicken fried steak had no flavor and was tough. Gravy had no flavor. Mashed potatoes didn't seem to be more than either instant potatoes scooped into a ball or a pla…
Decided to give this place a try and I will never return. The server Brandon was the sweetest and apologized for the wait but waiting almost 40 minutes and realizing that 2 groups of people who came in 10 minutes after I did had already received their order is not okay! Quietly got up and walked out. Get to my car and I realize I’ve got bites ALL over my sides!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
The ambiance and service was fantastic!! Just don’t eat anything here!! The food was absolutely garbage and the cook should be fired immediately. I’m still unsure how someone messes up cornbread but she did. I literally could bounce the cornbread on the ground and it would bounce back up. The meat tasted like it came out of an old freezer, canned greens (the waiter lied and said it was really good) and boxed mashed potatoes to increase the bad decisions the cook made. Horrible and I basically sent the food back the way it came to me. I definitely will not be back! They should just allow people to come sit and mingle as a hang out while they throw the entire kitchen AND COOK away.
This was the worst food we have had in awhile. The chicken fried steak (as they called it) was awful, tough and too much batter, mashed potatoes were what seemed to be watered down, we never got the "mixed veggies. I had the steak and cheese, the meat was way over cooked, the cheese that was on it was approximately the size of a half-dollar, (so the rest of the sandwich had no cheese), hardly any onions, peppers and mushrooms, atleast I could not find them. I will say the French fries were the best thing we ate. And the bun they brought over was burnt. Come on take some pride in what you serve, the word gets out. If people are spending $40 for lunch, they should be able to get something that tastes good. Do better!!
