Opiniones de Cold Spring Hotel & Cafe Cold Spring
Popped in on Valentine's for a bowl of soup after some shopping in Cold Spring. Service and general vibe was excellent. Shoutout to Jamie for being super cool.
Cold Spring Hotel surprised me in the best way. The space feels warm, clean, and thoughtfully cared for, and the location puts you right in the heart of the village. What truly made the stay memorable was Jimmy and the staff. Jimmy brings a level of professionalism and hospitality that feels personal and effortless. He checks in at the right moments, makes you feel welcome instantly, makes sure that you have what you need, and their cooking is honestly delicious. It's fresh, simple, and made with real heart and care. I recommend the hotel and the cafe 100%. I'm definitely going back.
It was such a wonderful valentines weekend stay, the owner was so accommodating and friendly, and I would not have changed a thing. The room felt like home, everything was cozy and clean, would def come again, it is in a super convenient area where everything in the town is nearby. loved it! :)
Popped in here to charge my phone for an and I’m gonna stay for food now… the owner/manager is an absolute joy. He creates this warm environment, practically gifted me a tea and people seem to be relaxed and enjoying the food. Lovely place.
We stayed at the Cold Spring Hotel during our hiking trip. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and ensured we had a good experience. It’s in a great location and the bed was comfortable. They also held our luggage before and after check-in/out so we could explore the town.
Didn’t stay at the hotel, but stopped in the cafe while on a day trip to Cold Spring. Great place to stop for a quick lunch! Food was tasty and Jimmy was a sweetheart. Would recommend.
I stopped in for breakfast at Cold Spring Hotel and Café and was blown away by how good everything was! The food was super fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly—it really hit the spot. On top of that, the service was amazing: friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. It’s rare to find a place that nails both great food and great hospitality, but this café definitely does. Highly recommend it if you’re in the area!
This was a great find in Cold Springs. Cute and intimate space, nothing complicated or extra, just a welcoming atmosphere and an owner who wants you to feel at home. We came for Thanksgiving and a lot of folks who were back home for the holiday were coming in to say hello to him. Comfortable spot in a cute town.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for three days and nights at the end of September, as we did last year, and it was just as lovely the second time around. Room and food were pleasantly home-y, and the cafe downstairs was a good environment for getting those last bits of work done. Central location from which to go for a hike, meander the town, etc. The owner Jimmy is a gem. Generous and unfailingly courteous through our whole stay, with a good sense of humor, he went out of his way to check in that we were comfortable. This is now our go-to for any time either we or our friends stay in Cold Spring.
We stayed with Jimmy this past weekend and he is a wonderful host. The hotel was great and the food is excellent as well! Incredibly hospitable and perfect location right in the middle of Main Street, this is a great place to stay for your trip to Cold Spring. We hope to see you and your family again soon!
We stayed at this hotel last fall and had really enjoyed it. The room was clean and the family that owned it was so welcoming. The location can't be beat - the inn is right in the town of Cold Spring, very close to the train station and trails. We found it an excellent place to stay for weekend, and enjoyed breakfast before our hike and a shower immediately after! The owners even held our bags for extra time so we could squeeze in one last hike. The pictures online are accurate and the inn is a good value for the location. I would recommend a room on the second floor if possible.
My partner wanted to go on a weekend trip to Cold Spring and had trouble finding an affordable hotel until we came across Cold Spring Hotel & Cafe online. I called the phone number on the website and I was immediately accommodated by Jimmy and booked immediately. The hotel was very easy to find since it was on Main Street. When we got there we were welcomed by Jimmy himself, and was even recommended some places to visit in Cold Spring. Overall the process was simple and convenient and we had the best time because of Jimmy’s welcoming nature and positivity. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Jimmy took such great care of us. He has a great personality and food recommendations. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We loved the pancakes and avocado toast. We would definitely come back!
My family and I had a wonderful time staying here for 2 nights. Jimmy did a fantastic job making us feel welcome and at ease. He makes everyone feel like his friend and creates such a hospitable atmosphere. The food was great and the location was so convenient. Can’t recommend them enough!
My girlfriend & I stayed at Coldspring Hotel for a night this past spring, and had a really lovely experience. Even 6 months later, we bring it up all the time. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Jimmy, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming. His hospitality made us feel right at home. We also got to meet his son, who was very sweet and helpful throughout our visit. It's clear that they put a lot of care into making their guests feel comfortable. We truly appreciated the personal touch and would definitely choose to stay here again next time we're in Cold Spring. PS-- thanks for the refreshing lemonades!
Cold Spring Hotel and Cafe made our family's hiking trip memorable. A nice cozy place on main street that's close to all shops , and the train station. The room was clean, and all amenities were there. Jimmy is very kind, and was a great host during our stay. We highly recommend.
The owner is amazing! The rooms are classic and beautiful! You truly feel like the part of the family here and are well taken care of. Best place to stay, right in the middle of Cold Spring. Walking distance from the train and the beautiful river. Rooms go fast so book in advance!
My partner and I had a great one-night stay here after a long day of hiking. The room was perfect—cozy and exactly what we needed. We had two air conditioners, a large central unit and a smaller window unit, so the temperature was always comfortable. The bed was clean and very comfy, and the room itself was incredibly quiet with great sound insulation, so we got a wonderful night's sleep. The bathroom was also spotless with great water pressure, and we didn't have to wait at all for hot water. The only minor issue was the toiletries; they were a bit small for two people, with only one small bar of soap and no toothbrush or toothpaste. But honestly, it wasn't a big deal. A huge bonus was the cafe on the first floor. The prices were great, and the simple food was delicious. The owner was wonderful, too—he really made an effort to ensure we were comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
We stayed at the Cold Spring Hotel & Café on Sunday night and had an amazing experience. The owner was so welcoming and attentive, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, exactly what we needed after a day of hiking. The location couldn’t be more perfect, right in the heart of town with shops, restaurants, and trails just steps away. We loved being able to explore the neighborhood and enjoy two great hikes while staying here. We had breakfast and lunch here before departing and the food was tasty. Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Cold Spring, we’ll definitely be back!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Cold Spring Hotel. It was cozy, comfortable, and felt just like home. Jimmy was incredibly friendly and welcoming—always greeting me with a smile and happy to help with anything I needed. He even makes a fantastic jalapeño lemonade! Breakfast is served every morning, and the hotel itself is clean, simple, and exactly as shown in the photos. On top of that, it’s very affordable compared to other places in the area, which made booking it an easy choice. The location is also excellent—right in town, surrounded by cafes, shops, and restaurants. If you’re visiting Cold Spring for a few days, I highly recommend staying at Jimmy’s place.
My husband and I came here for breakfast after being in the area for a Hudson Valley Shakespeare performance, and it was a highlight of our time in Cold Spring! Our server was so friendly and the food was delicious. He even added some whipped cream to our fruit cups, which was so sweet! We can’t wait to come back to eat again, and hopefully to stay at the hotel. We can’t recommend the cafe enough.
A true home away from home. My girlfriend and I recently had our first trip to Cold Spring, and decided to stay here due to the convenient location and stellar reviews I am happy to confirm that those reviews are indeed truthful. Before even entering the premises, Jimmy (our kind and knowledgeable host) and his family warmly welcomed us, making us feel like guests at their home rather than just another place to spend the night. Jimmy was incredibly helpful in giving us guidance throughout our first time in the beautiful town of Cold Spring, and the room itself was equally clean and cozy, everything once needs in a place like this. The location is also convenient, as everything from restaurants to hiking and kayaking are all a nice walk away. The food options at the hotel's cafe are also very tasty, made even better by a generous discount for guests Next time we need a room in Cold Spring, we will not hesitate to contact Jimmy for a place to stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It made our wonderful trip even greater. Sending a huge thank you to Jimmy and his family, and I can't wait to you see all again.
Great value for a clean and hospitable hotel experience in a prime location, was perfect for what we needed as a couple with a toddler who desperately needed to get away from the city for a few nights. We could walk to the waterfront and restaurants and nearby playground. Hotel owner is thoughtful and generous, would stay here again.
Cold Spring Hotel & Cafe is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a storybook village. Nestled right on Main Street, it’s surrounded by antique shops, hiking trails, and the charm of the Hudson Valley. The rooms are cozy, with stained glass windows and carved mahogany beds that add a touch of old-world magic. The cafe downstairs smells like fresh pastries and good coffee, and the hosts, especially the hosts go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. It’s not just a stay, it’s an experience that leaves you feeling rested, cared for, and a little more connected to the slower pace of life.
We did not stay at the hotel, but ate at the cafe. It is not possible to review just the cafe, but that is the scope of my review. I wish I looked at the reviews first, but it was a busy Saturday and the surrounding cafes and restaurant’s had long wait times and we had a toddler who was hungry. In hindsight we should have waited and gone somewhere else. The service was fine, however, the food was underwhelming. Chicken noodle soup from a can heated up in the microwave! An avocado toast and Mediterranean salad served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The establishment is also not family friendly as they didn’t have high chairs or a baby changing table in the bathroom. Overall a disappointing experience since I have heard good reviews of the Cold Spring area. From reading responses from the owner concerning negative reviews, it doesn’t sound like they take constructive feedback well. Perhaps it’s time. Cold Spring was lovely. Plan to eat somewhere else to get your money’s worth.
[expand review to see owner gross behavior and lies] Sorry, food was so bad. How do you mess up avocado toast? More like avocado bread (bread wasn't toasted at all somehow). And just, I guess, an unseasoned mashed avocado? All served on a paper plate with plastic utensils? Guys, you can surely do better when you're charging the same as anywhere in NYC. Avoid. ------------- Update: Owner has decided to lie by replying that I "cleaned my plate" when that's a complete lie. Both my date and I got so bored of eating terrible food we just walked off with half left. When "asked how it was" I said the bread wasn't even toasted, and he said it was toasted, then he said it was "toasted" in the oven, and then offered to re-toast it, which doesn't even make sense with the food half eaten and the bill paid as we're walking off. Changing from 2 stars to 1 for the owner being a gross lying POS. Viewer -- not sure who's lying here? I've left 3 other reviews in my life over 15 years -- check it out yourself. I don't make a habit of reviewing, unlike the reply-guy owner who has a financial interest in making up stories. I literally made a reminder on my phone while eating to review how bad this food was when I got home because of how outrageously bad it was. Owner -- prove you're not a liar. I sat on the sidewalk Oct 4, 2025, my food picture was 12:09pm, finished probably 20 min later, I paid by CC and had the above convo with you. She was wearing brown full length dress, I'm wearing blue pants maroon polo. I give permission for you to show your security footage of our clean plates. Prove it. Owner is a liar, food is trash. Avoid.
Re the cafe: I’m very shocked the reviews for the cafe are as good as they are. I got a roast beef sandwich for $16 and it was a very skimpy sandwich. It felt like something I would make with deli slices, kraft cheese, and yellow mustard. I don’t think I would be as annoyed as I am if it weren’t 16 dollars.
We came here for lunch after a long hike and to say we were dissatisfied is an understatement. I'm genuinely confused how this place has so many positive reviews. For starters, meals were served on paper plates with plastic utensils, not what I expect from a restaurant... The paninis were cold and poor quality ingredients and the soup was bland. This food was worse than what you could find in a public school lunchroom. Would not recommend. Go anywhere else in town.
The owner's reply below is highly unprofessional and confirms the overall lack of customer service at this establishment. In response to his claims: Parking & Price: I understand the property has street parking. However, guests paying over $200/night have a reasonable expectation of adequate convenience, which this price point generally dictates. Charging this price even without parking, I thought there were so many conveniences that can erase this difficulty of parking. Don't you understand? Hygiene & Dishes: The claim that single-use dishes are necessary for 'hygiene' is a flimsy excuse. Almost every quality hotel and restaurant maintains high hygiene standards without resorting to paper and plastic dishes. This choice is clearly about cost-cutting and convenience for the owner, not customer experience. Expectations: The owner insults my 'ego' for expecting basic quality. I have stayed in both five-star and one-star accommodations. I was not expecting a 'sprawling ballroom' but I was paying a three-star price for below one-star quality. A customer's right is to receive value for their money, and this property failed to deliver. I have uploaded pictures of the 'cozy and efficient' room so that future guests can decide for themselves if the price matches the experience."
