My friends and I went to Atami for my birthday dinner and our server, Dennis, made it a night to remember. Great atmosphere and he was very attentive all night. I think something had messed up on their computer system, so he was in the back for a while splitting our checks. He came back and apologized and took off the auto-gratuity since we had to wait. I will be coming back!
Everything that we ordered was amazing. We loved it so much. Great service also. Will be coming back for sure.
Delicious food ! We ordered the chicken teraki with steamed rice, miso soup and a Las Vegas roll. The food tasted fresh and with right amount of spice and flavor.
Don't expect too much on service. There's usually no one at the front table. Be prepared for waiting embarassingly for 5+ minutes or sit down by yourself and argue with the late waitress. I'll still give a 5 star for the food price and quality. You can get a pretty decent lunch with under $20, even for all you can eat. Just treat this place like a canteen and prepare some time.
If I could rate this place a 10 I probably would. We sat at the hibachi grill and our Chef was the best. I wish i'd gotten his name. We do the hibachi thing all the time because the kids love it. This was by far the most entertaining one I've seen. It was a little different than the others I've been to. But in a really good way. His little jokes and tricks were different than most.
Awesome experience at the hibachi table. The young female Japanese chef put on a fun show, and prepared our food perfectly. All 9 people at our table really enjoyed their meals. The soup and salad were excellent appetizers before the main course. You should seriously consider eating here. This was my 3rd visit, and not my last.
Went for a dinner date. The place was emptyish and the server was prompt and polite. The ambience looked very cosy, although the air conditioning was really strong. The bar was well.lit and huge. We both got the sushis and loved them. A bit pricier than other places in BCS that serve equally good sushis.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing service from Chris From the moment we arrived, Chris made us feel right at home. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. His kindness and excellent customer service truly stood out. You can tell he loves what he does—every detail was perfect. Thank you, Chris, for making our experience so enjoyable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend him
The waitress was amazing, the food was awesome. The chef acted like he didn't want to be there. It was my granddaughters first hibachi and I wanted her to be thrilled, but the chef barely interacted with us. The waitress was so kind and helpful she did make it fun but it would have been better if the chef tried a little harder to make it special.
We did the AYCE Sushi on Saturday night. The food itself was decent, but the service was subpar. Our server was nice, but the food came out very slowly, especially for an AYCE. Our whole table lost our appetite with how long it took the food to come out. I understand it was backed up that night, but it's honestly no excuse when you're running a restaurant. Even after we were done, it took around 20 minutes for us to be able to pay and get out of there because of an issue with our bill. When we ordered our appetizers, the server assumed we were ordering from the dinner menu instead of the AYCE menu (despite us clearly holding and reading from the AYCE menu) and charged us for those items a la carte. The manager explained that because we verbally said the items instead of just handing in the marked AYCE menu, that they assumed we were ordering from the dinner menu. I'm sorry, but that is not sufficient enough. We told the people at the front that we were doing AYCE, and besides that, it was our first time here. There was no way for us to know that was their restaurant practice without notice beforehand. All other restaurants with an AYCE option that we've been to *always* make sure to confirm what menu we are ordering form. Fortunately, they did not charge us for the appetizers, but I think that training your servers to better communicate would have avoided this whole issue altogether. All in all, it's a decent place, but we likely will not be coming back for the sushi.
Hostess seemed irritated that we walked in even though it was a slow Monday. Appetizers and drinks came out relatively quickly, but taste wasn’t really there and I suspect my cocktail didn’t have any alcohol in it. The two entrees we ordered came out at separate times about 15 minutes apart, and both were cold. This is the second time we’ve tried this place and both times were disappointing. One of my sushi rolls also tasted a little off, so I didn’t finish it. Not the best experience all around and will probably not give it another chance given the price.
⭐☆☆☆☆ A Poor Experience at Atami Steak & Sushi My visit to Atami Steak & Sushi was a poor experience from start to finish. The host was unprofessional and seemed completely uninterested in helping customers, which created a negative first impression. Our server was excellent — attentive, kind, and doing their best — but unfortunately that couldn’t make up for the food quality. The meat was noticeably poor, and the portions were much smaller than what the menu and photos advertise. For the prices they charge, the value simply wasn’t there. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations. I won’t be returning.
Tonight it was my first night here and I had a BAD experience. Since it my first time there I just ordered what I liked. Not knowing what I ordered would have to be cooked in the back kitchen, we got seated at 8 (an hour later from what they said) we order about thirty minutes later. It was okay from that point until the cook was done and all I had was on my plate was two pieces of shrimp and a pinch of veggies the others didn’t want. I ordered dumplings and fried rice with beef, which was already paid for due to them not accepting tap. never got neither so now I’m upset I paid for food that I never even received. I talked to a lady in the front because apparently the manager was too busy to talk. So now I’m more upset because they said it hasn’t even started to be prepared (everyone around me has finished their food) it’s already 9:30… at this point the waiter told me he took off my food ticket from the back kitchen and that I just wouldn’t receive my food but didn’t even wanna give me a FULL refund, I did demand a full refund because I didn’t get anything. I refuse to go back. Having new chiefs is a sorry excuse . I was here from 7pm to 9:45 to get nothing to eat. Food was good I guess though, from the rabbit food I got.
Service was okay until the end, check came we gave our card without looking at the bill since we saw the prices on the menu and had told the host we were 3 adults and one child. A very obvious child at that. After getting the check back and going to sign we discovered we were charged for an adult price, that paired with the again OKAY service printed no tip. And wrote on the receipt that overcharging us was the reason. The server Ashton chased us out of the establishment and shouted at us “ what does IDS pricing mean”. I said there’s another letter there, it was kids pricing. He said “maybe next time tell someone he’s a kid”. 30 years of dining out I’ve never been chased out of a restaurant. Upon calling and talking to the manager in duty he said oh yea I’ll talk to him. No sorry, this must be a pretty common occurrence
I don’t think this could have been any worse. We have to wait for 30 mins to get a dirty table with crumbs on it and pieces of chicken on the floor even though they seemed to have sufficient staffs and sitting space. We chose the AYCE (all you can eat) sushi option, and had to wait over 45 mins just to get a bite of food. Eventually, when we actually got the food, we found ourselves stuffing rice down our throats. They might as well have replaced the protein for rice at that point, as the only thing you could taste was rice. We had to ask for spicy mayo so that we could taste something other than rice. They messed up our order too! The chef forgot to sprinkle on crunchy bits on our crunchy roll, so the waitress got us the crunchy bits instead of taking it in to add what was missing. We were aware of the extra cost we’d have to pay, but didn’t expect to pay for some rice we couldn’t finish. In the end, they charged us an extra ten dollars for what was basically only rice. The service was terrible too! We had to wait for fifteen minutes just to get someone to get us some ginger and spicy mayo. After wasting 80 dollars, I felt like I would have been much more satisfied eating off the dollar menu at McDonald’s.
Writing this as I have been waiting 20 minutes for a Dr. Pepper. Waitress who is running the entire store by herself managed to bring out a Diet Coke twice in a row now. They clearly tried to compete with sushi masa and failing pretty badly. Division of labor is wack, you gotta 2 hostesses and like 2 bus boys. One active waitress and 1 dude behind the sushi bar. The owners will prob comment something generic and not do anything as I’ve noticed bad reviews relating to this going almost a year back.
This place was a referral and ended up being a complete disaster, and it cost us over $100+ in losses. We stopped by there on our way back home after having a medical procedure done in the area. We ordered our food and unfortunately needed to abruptly take it to go. Once on the road we discovered that the food was awful, and we didn’t even eat it. I tried multiple times to contact the owners to discuss the issues and hopefully work it out and I never received a phone call in return. We then proceeded to have the credit card charges refunded through our financial institution and the owners never cooperated for a balanced resolution. I would HIGHLY suggest to find a more suitable location to eat vs. this place that cannot properly make fried rice much less sushi. Don’t let the good reviews fool you! I grew up on Asian foods, and the positive reviews you see online must be from people that have no clue what Asian food is supposed to taste like.
