Nomad was great! The atmosphere is relaxed and fresh, and the service was top-notch. Sarah, the bartender, is an absolute genius—her specialty cocktails are creative, beautifully crafted, and a real highlight of the evening. The flaming saganaki wasn’t quite to my taste, but the presentation was stunning. The lamb sirloin was cooked perfectly, and the mushroom skewer was outstanding. I also tried a bit of the seasoned bone marrow—it was rich and flavorful. I can only imagine how incredible a bone marrow dish cooked in the Spanish oven would be! Portion sizes were generous, and the value matched what I expected. Overall, the standout of the night was Sarah. She was friendly, engaging, and clearly talented, making the cocktail experience truly memorable. I can’t wait to come back and try more of what she’s inventing behind the bar!

I absolutely love it here and this is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. The service is amazing and the drinks are divine. Perfect for date night or great place for the family you can't go wrong at Nomad. But it's the food that has me coming back so often. I can't say enough about it here!

Every time I come here my palette, mind, and soul are blown away. The staff are on point, and the chef nails it every time. Whomever creates this menu (I say creates because it changes a little with the seasons.) is quite possibly a genius. With all of the options in the area, this place reigns supreme! Please, don't take my word for it.

The starters “house fries” was really good. It was a little bit sweet and spicy which was a nice blend. The barbecue chicken was delicious. Chicken was tender and juicy. Pasta was nice. The wonder wall cocktail was pretty unique to me. Service was really good. Very friendly service. Price was reasonable.

Flaming Saganaki to begin the evening. Ouzo brought back memories from Greece. Claire behind the bar was one of the reasons we'll try and find time to revisit. Best seat is at the bar.

This was our second visit to Nomad and again the food and drinks were both excellent. We love that the menu changed from this winter! The summer seafood and couscous were both excellent as well as our starters conch with key lime aioli and the summer crostini. We did the starter entree and sweet for 45.00. The cheesecake was baked to perfection. Both cocktails on the menu we tried were refreshing and I asked if the bartender would make a mojito even though it wasn’t on the menu and it was excellent as well. Service was wonderful and so was the outside patio. Another restaurant adding to the great food scene in Columbus.

First time treating ourselves to this splendid experience maker. We just needed dinner and chose it for the name. What we had was an exceptional time, not just dinner. If I was still in my 20's, I would have tried their entire cocktail menu but chose whiskey in the end, of course. Their food menu is equally as difficult to make a choice from, as everything looks delicious. We'll be back. Soon. Likely on your whiskey night so I can see my "friends"... 😃

My wife and I eat out a lot. Last year we were out of the US for 12 weeks, Spain, Italy, Morocco, the island of Montserrat and more. We find it difficult to find good food in Columbus.. Actually that is an understatement, we find it almost impossible.. I am diabetic which complicates things. Go to Nomads on Polaris, don't wait. It is a small restaurant, but the food that we had was amazing... Far beyond average in Columbus! My wife had the Couscous which she has not stopped talking about and I had a naked burger (diabetic no white bread). Generally, when I order a naked burger, it tastes like cardboard and is dried out. It was very flavorful and juicy. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. Do yourself a favor and do not miss this little gem! November 8th, 2024 Update: My wife and I returned to Nomads, so far everything that we have had at this restaurant has been wonderful. If you are one of those seeking out the best French Fries in Columbus and you have not had them at Nomads, you have no idea as to what you are missing out on, hot, light, crispy, not oily at all and fluffy on the inside. Do not wait until the secret is out. Try Nomads now!

WOW... What a great find... Nomad's was an awesome experience. This place rang all the bells for an awesome night out. The decor was unique but really cool. The service was off the hook - Jess is incredible - the food was really good. We ordered the veggie tray which was delicious. Wifie got the flat bread which she liked, personally, I didn't think it was all that. I got the chicken sandwich with fries which was awesome - it was an upscale chicken sandwich served on kings Hawaiian bread. This was a great choice for date night...

Amazing, hip restaurant! Very nice inside but not “too nice” that theres a strict dress code. Reminds me of Kitchen Social. Veggie board app was phenomenal! Shockingly good. Pork chop was the best ive ever had. Staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive! I’ve been here twice now, overall great experiences.

A friend and I had the salmon Saturday night. We loved it! It was served with green beans and a cold noodle salad. The seasonings were excellent to make for a perfect culinary experience. My friend’s mother ordered the perch dinner. It was a bountiful serving and came with seasoned fries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I live about 160 miles away, but whenever I visit Columbus, Nomad will be a destination.

We love Nomad, it is always a delicious experience! For the appetizers - we got crab hush puppies (surprisingly crispy outside but super soft and not dry inside which is rare for hush puppies!) and Aioli flight (our fave). For the main - I got the pork chop with their seasonal fruit of peaches (I've also had it with apples as well as pears, apple is probably my fave but all are good). But I don't even LIKE pork chops typically but I love this. My husband got the bone in ribeye which he liked, you can really taste the smokey flavor. Then seasonal desserts - of strawberry mousse cheesecake and an ice cream sandwich with white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and key lime ice cream. Also love their cocktails. So good!

What a great dining experience here north of Columbus. Very happy with the quality of the food and the atmosphere.

Wow, incredible flavor and quality. Their special grill really does cook differently, and noticeably quickly. Our table shared the veggie board which came out sizzling on a cast iron plate. The flavor of each veggie wasn't overwhelming, but the goat cheese and other sauce had plenty of flavor for dipping. The mixed drinks came out quickly and were VERY well crafted. The Manhattan, tequila with Thai chili, and the Paloma were all exquisite. We had the steak sandwich and chicken sandwich for entrees and were blown away. First of all, the meat on the sandwiches were phenomenal. Very hot, perfectly cooked. Both came with great potato wedges (the server called them fries). The steak on the sandwich was especially mind-blowing. It was perfectly cooked and a great price point for steak, especially compared to the other steak fries entree. We got to sit on the small patio, which was a treat. Definitely a repeat restaurant.

Really nice place! Good atmosphere, friendly staff, great service, and decent prices for really good and unique food. We went during restaurant week to try it out for the first time and would definitely go back! (I didn't get a picture of our deserts but the chocolate cake was good, however, the custard fruit cup was to die for!)

Great addition to Columbus dining, even though location isn't the best. Indoor & outdoor dining. Outdoor space faces parking lot :-( Very good experience with service & food. Try the Paloma & vodka gimlet. Both delicious. Flank steak was tender, tasty & cooked to perfection.

The food was absolutely excellent, was interesting and was well presented. Both the small plates and the main dishes we tried were excellent, and the pepper 🌶 dish was one of the best I have had in a long time. The drinks were also very good (my wife's Dark Manhattan was one of the best whiskey drinks I have had out in a while). The vibe is fun and they were very friendly and helpful even while being in the midst of a busy dinner service.

First time there. Food was delicious! Everything was so good. Great service... It was my son's birthday and they brought him a piece of chocolate cake. Definitely will be back. They figured out how to make a small place work great 🙂

We decided to sit on the patio, so glad we did it was a beautiful day and it was much quieter than inside. The service was good and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Anaheim peppers and the Korean fried chicken.

Try the cheese steak 😋🥩🍟. We ate outside and our waitress, Sarah, was spectacular! 10/10 will eat here again! Second time eating here: they now have a pick 3 for $45 option. I got the Caesar salad, aglio y olio de Mare, and the lemon curd cremé brulee. Everything tastes so good! The service is still great!

Very casual, relaxing atmosphere. Food was very fresh and came out hot. The winners for the Table were the New York Strip, Porkchop and Lomo Saltado. Desserts are Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Lavendar Panna cotta, and Peach Cobbler. Would definitely recommend.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The service. The food. The selection. The cocktails. Had the French press cocktail and it was perfectly balanced. Old Fashioned was equally tasty. Mussels came in a batch that was enough for three or four people. And very tasty. Étouffée was perfect. Bone in ribeye was amazing and we make perfect steaks a few times a week. Will definitely be back.

AMAZING!!! We hosted our Company Christmas Party here and everything went perfect. Marco and his team worked with us creating a custom menu and special featured drinks. (Which they had printed for us to use that night! We were able to head in early and decorate for the party. (Simple Balloons) The space is beautifully decorated and perfect for an upscale dining experience, not much decoration is needed. For the event the staff, bartenders, & cooks were so accommodating and friendly. The food could not have been better! We got an assortment of apps, sides, salad, and mains. I got compliments all night from my group about how amazing everything was. Hands down the best holiday party location & food we have ever used.

Spectacular cuisine, the sea bass and chicken were the best . The bacon steak small plate was perfectly cooked and not greasy. Some of the best food, for the price in the Columbus area we have had. I encourage you to try this independently owned restaurant.

Great place with great food. Amazed at their happy hour which is half price off the entire menu! So packed from 4-5:30 because of it. Stellar deal!

Let me first start off by saying this place fully exceeded my expectations. I had the CRISPY CHICKEN sandwich (side note: I added bacon) this chicken was fried to perfection. The soft bun was a perfect balance to the crispness of the chicken. For anyone that would worry that it is too hot don’t worry the sweetness of the roll and lime vinaigrette makes the habanero aioli a well balanced level of spicy. When I grabbed the bag and got in my car I knew I had fresh cut fries because I could smell the freshness from the box. Excellent job this is what great food is all about.

Great place near Polaris. Eclectic menu, creative cocktail lists, and nice decor. Our party of eight had a great time. Wait staff was quick and professional. This place is known for having a unique type of oven, a josper, and they are happy to show patrons how it works. Most of the food is cooked in it or on it and it is delicious. Try the salmon. Korean fried chicken, Japanese shrim, Brussel sprouts and more. The portions are substantial, which was a nice surprise. Recommended.

It was our anniversary and first time going to Nomad. The food was very flavorful & the options transport you to cuisine of another country/island. I was thoroughly impressed. I didn't know I could be that excited over some vegetables!

I can only comment on the food itself because my girlfriend ordered me a plate of the Moroccan Couscous with chicken while she was out with a friend to bring home to me and it was great. They even removed onions for me which was nice of them. Excellent flavor with all the ingredients. I even tried some of the Tenderloin Tips with Broccoli that she got and brought home a little of, and that was really, really good too (and would have been my second choice if the Couscous wasn't available). Really great spin on Beef Stroganoff. Looking forward to actually visiting the restaurant to try more, but great first impression.

This was my first time here , I came to celebrate my friends birthday. The entire crew was nothing short of amazing. Our server tonight was Sarah, she was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. We were a larger party and Tia helped her when needed. Later on we found out that Tia is the general manager. I love that she is so hands on and equally as kind. From walking in until we left, everyone we encountered made this experience great! I'm excited to return.

Had dinner with a friend here the other night. Probably the best meal I've had in a while. The bartender recommended the Lomo Saltado and it was awesome. Good appetizer and desserts, as well friendly bar staff. Old Fashioned was excellent but was a pretty small drink for the cost. Ill definitely be back.

We went there on a Monday night and it was fantastic, from the appetizers to the lamb, steak, everyone had a different meal and raved about it. Even the vegetables soaked in red wine vinegar was a subtle but fantastic touch

The food at this place is very tasty. We have been here multiple times, and our 7 year old soon loves the place. The servers are also very friendly. It's family owned, and our first time there, the waiter took some time to give us a little history behind the owners. We ordered stuffed peppers for an appetizer and first look. I was worried, but the taste was great. I have two drinks, both really good and clean. Didn't feel very syrupy. The taste was fresh. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Just make sure you make a reservation, the place is a little small, and on weekends, they can really be packed.

Friday night dinner out with friends, strongly recommend a reservation, place was pretty busy. Spanish-style food and good. Decent drink menu and a number of good choices. The booths are certainly "cosier" than the tables are. There is a very interesting oven/grill that the owners had imported for the restaurant, it is a thing to see. Sitting at the bar, you have a ring-side view of the cooking. The drinks were good, if not a little pricier than expected for a strip-mall restaurant. Strong nod towards the Barrel Aged Black Manhattan. The food was very good. I would highly recommend the veggie board - it was more than enough for the four of us. I had the Artichoke and Arugula pesto pasta which was good, would have been better if the penne was more towards al-dente and a little less heavy on the walnuts. The wife enjoyed the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and said the habanero aioli gave it a nice kick.

Food surpassed any expectations I had for the place based on location. We started the evening off with a round of drinks: Lavender is the New Black and You Want a Peach of Me?s. The Lavender is the New Black was very vodka forward. The You Want a Peach was so refreshing and not in your face at all, more of those for the table. We started in with the Veggie Board and Beer Steamed Mussels. The veggie board was decadent but the cauliflower could be cooked more and more naan bread provided for the table. The Beer Steamed Mussels were punchy with the beer flavoring and ham pieces, went very well with the bread offering. Asked the waitress what drinks she recommended and ordered the Barrel Aged Black Manhattan- not impressed, immediately ordered a Cosmo to replace it, should have stuck with the refreshing You Want a Peach of Me?s. My Poor Mans Lobster roll came next, nothing too exquisite about it or note worthy, just meh. The Zarzuela came next. A delite. Very tasty. Next the Ahi Tuna Salad which featured very vinegar forward pickled cucumber, and pieces of Ahi Tuma steak that would have been more desirable if sliced thinner to enjoy with each bite of the salad. Dessert around the table was scrumptious. The Lavender Panna Cotta my favorite, the cooks did forget to add the pirouette cookie. The peach cobbler tasted too smokey for my preference. And the pineapple upside down cake was equivalent to a syrup soaked waffle according to my brother who ate it.

I would like to say that the atmosphere and service were amazing. I had great interactions with the staff and I thought the concept of the design was interesting. But truthfully the food was lack luster. It was a good meal, but it wasn’t great. So if you are chasing that memorable experience I don’t know if this is it. We sampled the cheese board and it was solid, but if you’re looking for a truly interesting curated antipasto board this was not it. I also tried the green, eggs, and ham. This was a nice attempt at amping up creativity and flavor, but for some reason the execution of the dish didn’t allow for an enjoyable eating experience. For the main entree my wife got the pork chop al pastor and it was very dry. The al pastor flavor mostly delivered, but the meat was not tender so the flavor fell flat when you got a good bite. I also sampled my friends and it felt the same way. My entree was the shrimp and scallop linguine. I felt the linguine was under salted and the scallops had a char, but not the kind that’s enjoyable. The desert was solid and I enjoyed the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse dish. Overall solid, but since I don’t drink I would rather go to Kitchen Social for a less costly and better meal.

Great service & atmosphere. We started with the baked brie. I had the salmon and my fiance had a steak. Food was okay, a bit overpriced for the quality. Cooked very well though. just didn't wow me.

Nomad is undeniably charming, with a beautifully designed space and an awesome patio setup. One of the best features was the roll-up glass wall — it was open during our visit, which made sitting indoors feel like we were still enjoying the outdoors. A lovely touch! That said, they had the AC blasting to compensate, and unfortunately, I was seated directly under a vent. By the end of the meal, I was freezing — and I wasn’t the only one at the table who felt uncomfortably cold. The overall vibe was also very loud. We found ourselves straining to hear our waitress, though she was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and even gave us some interesting background on their oven and how it added something special to their cooking process. Visually, everything was impressive — from the plating to the beautiful ceramic dishes. But the food itself didn’t quite live up to the presentation. I ordered the steak tips, which had good flavor but were quite fatty and oddly paired with both rice and fries — a bit of a starch overload. My partner’s burger was supposed to be medium but arrived well done and dry. His mother got the chicken sandwich, which she said was good overall, but the jalapeño sauce was so spicy it crossed into unpleasant territory (thankfully she ordered it on the side). The drinks were another low point. The mixed drink ordered by my partner’s mother tasted more like bourbon on the rocks than a balanced cocktail — incredibly strong. My partner’s cocktail was overly tart and not enjoyable. The one highlight was dessert: a flourless s’mores cake that was genuinely delicious and beautifully executed. It was the only part of the meal that felt special. Overall, while Nomad nails the aesthetic and has some thoughtful service touches, the food and drinks didn’t deliver. It was, unfortunately, a forgettable experience, and I won’t be returning ……………………………………………………. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and for providing additional context on the dishes. I respect the work that goes into running a restaurant, and I certainly wasn’t trying to diminish your team’s efforts — I noted in my review that the service was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. I also appreciate learning that the steak dish was a traditional preparation, and that’s helpful context I didn’t have. That said, I do want to mention that your response seemed to focus mostly on defending aspects of the meal I shared as personal impressions, while somewhat overlooking the feedback I provided on the burger and drinks — which I believe were genuine areas for improvement and not matters of personal taste. My review was intended to reflect my overall experience that night — which includes both what worked and what didn’t — not as an attack on your culinary abilities or team. I wish you continued success and hope this feedback is helpful as part of the broader picture of guest experiences.

We had a very nice birthday dinner for my sister. Having spent over $150 before tip imagine my surprise when I received a bill with a service charge for using a credit card! That is ridiculous, cheap and totally unnecessary. I will not return. Period. Good luck to you.

A
Andrew Fodor

Avoid. I took a date here and would describe our meal as a paying $150 (with tip) for a $50 meal. Fine dining prices without fine dining food quality or experience. They are not achieving what they hope to. Everything is off relative to the many places in Columbus where you can get a true $150 meal and feel good about it. My steak was ok but clearly was not a high quality cut and wasn’t cooked great. Ribs were okay at best. My girl said hers was good but she left a lot on the plate. The service was relatively slow and it was hard to hear what the waiter said because it was so loud. I’d guess this place exists by being a curiosity that many people try but few people visit more than once. Carrabba’s and Louie’s have better food and service for less than half the price.

My husband and I have frequented The Nomad many times and have always enjoyed the food, the flavors, and the overall vibe. But this visit? It started on a completely different note—and not in a good way. We arrived on time for our reservation, only to be met by a Asian hostess whose attitude immediately set the evening on a negative trajectory. There were at least five or six empty tables, including multiple booths. We simply asked to be seated at a booth. Instead of a reasonable explanation, we were told the booths were “reserved”—which made absolutely no sense, considering we also had a reservation and were already there waiting. I noticed one booth in particular fully set for two guests—utensils, plates, everything. So I politely asked the hostess why that booth, clearly ready for two people, wasn’t available for us. She had no explanation other than, “I’ll have to ask my manager.” But instead of actually speaking to a manager, she stood there tapping around on the iPad and then suddenly came back to say, “Okay, you can sit there.” No manager, no clarification, no accountability. The whole exchange left me with more questions than answers—and none of them make The Nomad look good. It’s unfortunate, because it gives the impression that we were being denied seating for reasons that had nothing to do with reservations and everything to do with something else. Needless to say, this really tarnished what should have been an enjoyable night out. We love the food, but after this experience, we’re genuinely reconsidering whether we’ll return.
