High end sushi & steak, great little bar while your waiting. Gotta say, a hidden gem when it comes to NY Steak. One of the best I've had recently. Staff quick& accommodating.
Stylish and lively spot on the Lower East Side offering top-notch sushi alongside creative izakaya dishes. The vibe is upscale-casual, perfect for late dinners, sake with friends, or a solo treat. Fresh fish, great cocktails, and a warm atmosphere make it a standout for sushi lovers after dark!
Celebrated my birthday and did a walked in and they sat us down in less than 15 minutes. They were so nice had the greatest time here although is a Friday night it was crowded my husband and Did NOT felt rushed our waiter was so nice and sweet she gave us recommendations of certain items we should order and she did not disappoint us . We all definitely come back !
Our reviews had over 52 million in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya. The food was great, the service was awesome, the room was lovely and the food was really good. I do not know Japanese names for the food we ate so let me just tell you in my own words. The scallops on a skewer were really buttery and had a wonderful sauce. Same can be said for the steak on a stick. The sticky rice with spice tuna and avocado was delicious but it is not really spicy. Everyone loved this dish. The fried chicken is also great because of the sauces. One is a hot sauce and one is a gently warm honey sauce. We loved the veggie fried rice with egg. The sushi was very good as well. My favorite was the salmon which had a lot of flavor and melted in your mouth. I loved the eel wrapped in cucumber. Desserts were very good, we loved the banana split as well as the chocolate bread pudding. They have espresso and all the other coffee drinks. Each was great. Very lovely evening. We made our initial order then added to it after we decided how full we were. Online there is a pdf menu but the non-pdf menu on the website has photos of every dish which we found very helpful. Be prepared to go up a lot of steps when you enter, but it is worth it. Also has a nice bar area. Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 52 million views in the last 12 months and we thank you for that. Dope spot for some authentic sushi. Izakaya has a great ambiance. This team is very friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Blue ribbon friend chicken was amazing, so crispy and well seasoned. The sushi was well prepared and there are a ton of combo options so that you are able to try a little of everything.
A very classy Japanese restaurant with the dining area located on the second floor. We were seating right by the entrance which provided a nice view of the lanterns that lighted up the stairs coming up. We had a sushi and sashimi combo and sashimi deluxe. Not overly heavy and it was a nice way to eat some healthy food to end the night without breaking the bank.
We lucked out moving right across the street from the Izakaya. We’ve lived across the street from the Soho location for years and it’s our favorite. The LES location did not disappoint!!! This location has even more options that are no longer on the other menu. Veggie tempura is a fave. As are the ebi shumai, the grilled avocado (a new fave!) and crispy rice. Full bar and ample space for large groups. Service was lovely and sitting at the sushi bar is always entertaining. Casual or can be a place to dress up. It’s dimly lit and decorated amazingly!
The atmosphere is amazing here. When I walk up the stair I didn’t know there’s a patio in the back. Great view and wonderful food. The fish is fresh especially the Uni is soooo sweet. 100% recommendation!! They have a super nice bar as well. Service here is fast, staff is knowledgeable about their menu and make good recommendations.
This place feels like a hidden slice of Japan tucked beneath New York’s streets. Walking down the lantern-lit staircase instantly sets the mood — calm, cozy, and a little mysterious. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented, especially the seared fish with that light smokiness. Everything tasted fresh, though a couple of pieces could’ve been sliced a bit thinner for balance. The service was attentive without being pushy, and the staff seemed genuinely proud of their craft. Prices are what you’d expect for quality sushi in Manhattan — not cheap, but fair for what you get. Overall, it’s the kind of spot you bring someone when you want to slow down, have great food, and feel like you’ve stepped out of the city for a bit. Would definitely come back for another round of sashimi and sake!
We wanted to try a different sushi spot for a change and decided to have dinner at Blue Ribbon Sushi last weekend. The restaurant is on the second floor and in a very vibrant downtown location for those who are familiar with SoHo. I enjoyed all the recommended house favorites from the half lobster roll, yellowfin tuna, etc. even the edamame was delicious. The ambiance is welcoming and lively. Our server was a bit busy so we ended up placing our order with another server who was also friendly and made some good recommendations. It was an overall good experience and we would visit again in the future.
Seen a lot of negative reviews but as a person whose been to a lot of sushi joints I really don't understand it. The service was great, sushi was reasonable for the price and I felt the food was better then most spots in NY overall. Didn't love the atmosphere tho dining by the bar but a good time overall.
Upscale izakaya, very nice interior. Food was pricey. Yaki short rib was a little tough but the flavor profile was good. Spicy tuna crispy rice was not as crunchy as I would’ve liked. Karaage was good, not super breaded which was good. Bone marrow fried rice was overhyped - did not really taste any bone marrow or oxtail. Also really oily. There was also a fly in the bar area 😵
The decor is fantastic! It looks really good. The food was ok but way way way overpriced for the quality and taste! It cost $30 for fried chicken and it wasn’t a family meal :). The sushi was just okay it wasn’t bad but for the cost it’s not really justifiable. Service was just ok. I think I would just suggest stopping by for drinks but not really for drinks. Way too expensive for what you get.
The service and atmosphere was fantastic but honestly the sushi fell very short of its price point. Most sashimi was watery, lacking flavor, barring the the nice thick cuts of salmon. The sushi also lacked the same charm, barring the shrimp which was nicely sweet and flavorful. I'd avoid this place if you are an avid sushi fan, but if you're looking for a date spot and looking to impress this might do very nicely. Price: C- Taste: B-
Most horrible experience of my life. My date and I have been iching are bodies for days after dining here. The sushi was poor quality and not tasty. The rice was falling apart. They use cheap quality fish and rice. The fish may contain parasites here or We got histamine poisoning. Service was nothing special and the place is empty. I wish I walked out when I saw they have a C rating but my date was positive so I tried to give benefit of the doubt. Don’t be like me and let people pressure you into doing something that you feel uncomfortable doing then suffering the consequences. Good luck.
Aesthetically pleasing but definitely not worth the price and the quality of the food was horrible. Definitely do not come here for brunch. Eggs were over cooked, coffee were bland, toast had no butter and nothing we had was worth it. The staff was friendly and place looked nice, but that was the only plus side to our experience. For the price they charge per dish, there are definitely so many other better options! Good luck and thank you for reading!
