Are the food was fresh? Very tasty very quick thank you for being an amazing small restaurant right on the corner easy access.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, quick, attentive, and very professional. What really made the visit special was the owner, who was extremely friendly and generous. You can truly feel the hospitality and care in everything they do. Highly recommended for anyone looking for not just great food, but also a welcoming atmosphere!
Chopan is my go-to restaurant for dinner takeout when I’m hosting family or friends and don’t have the time to cook. A referral from a friend, I couldn’t believe how authentic and delicious the kababs tasted — their chaplee kabab comes close to my aunt’s legendary cooking, and that’s saying something. This particular location is an unassuming little space nestled in a busy plaza, lots of families weaving in and out. I am so glad for them to have enough business to expand to San Ramon, more of the Bay Area deserves to taste their goodness! This is my usual order: - Banjan Borani (comes with pita) - Chicken shammi kabab (platter with rice) - Sides of beef chaplee kabab - Aushak - Occasionally, I’ll add the Bolani Kachaloo When the food arrives, the only thing we want to do is dig in. I’ll have to make sure to take some photos so I can update my review!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly One of the Best! Chapan Kebab is hands down one of mu favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious — me and my wife been here many times and have never had a bad experience. The customer service is consistently great, and Jawid, the owner, is an honest, hardworking, and committed person who clearly cares about his customers and the quality of the food. Unlike other places that I’ve only visited once, Chapan Kebab keeps me coming back again and again. Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates great food and genuine hospitality!
Always hits the spot. Been going here for years, staff are always friendly and welcoming and food never disappoints.
I love it has amazing food I recomend people to go thier, the workers are really nice one time I tried to pay for some sweets for my guest, and I am young at teen age but I tried to get one he saw me at a young age and let me have it free, then I tried to pay for another one he let me have it free to. But the last i wanted to buy was for my mom but she wasn't there, so it was as a gift and he gave it to me for free. So I got three free sweets with three inside
I’ve worked with several companies in the past, but this one is by far the best. Their professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail were outstanding. I’ll definitely be using their services again!
I went with my brother, and the food was unbelievably good. The service was quick and friendly. I loved it
Great local place for Afghani food. The Family Special was amazing. Fed four people to the brim. Delicious everything. The service is always friendly and fast. Love their soups too.
I ordered 12 people take out dinner for the family event. If I could give the whole experience 6 stars I would have. The food was ready right out of the stove on a dot. It was planned and packed perfectly. And the quality of food was on the level of Michelin star. Kabuli rice with lamb shanks, mantis, kabobs, bolanies - everything was tasting amazing. We are lucky to have this little hidden gem in our neighborhood.
Lamb kabob was really good. Kind of a hole in the wall, but still good
Decided to venture out and try some Afghani food tonight. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the kabab plate and the lady helping me recommended I try the Chaplee - looks like a fried meat loaf slice and had all sorts of spices I wasn’t expecting. It was a full-on flavor party in my mouth and all the spice girls were invited. I recommend it.
By far one of the best Chapli Kabobs I’ve had in my life. The meat is so soft, rich with spices but not overpowering. It tastes delicious both with basmati rice or Naan. I have a special place in my heart for this establishment. They provided catering for my wedding in July 2020 and were given only a 48 hour notice to prepare boxed meals due to covid. They really made it possible and I appreciate them. I’m looking forward to trying their other dishes in the future.
Amazing food and service! I ordered the Tandoori Fish and it was immaculate. The environment is very cozy and welcoming. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.
I just had my first visit to this amazing place, and I can't rate it highly enough—definitely a 10 out of 10! The food here is absolutely delicious, and the service is top-notch. Ms. Farzana and Mr. Jawid were so friendly and made our experience even better. I can't wait to tell my family and friends about it and visit again soon :)
The combo plate is so good. High quality and fresh. And no weird pieces of meat. And that naan is so flavorful I lowkey wanted to take a 6 pack home if they offered it.
This gem of a place serves up fantastic grilled meat dishes, soups, stews, dumplings, breads, and more. The grilled beef items have never failed to satisfy the palate, and the soup seems to be quite a popular choice as well. The rice served here is really flavorful and incredibly delicious. The ever so kind staff make the experience here so easy and enjoyable. I'll definitely come back for dinner here!
Great little spot! Ate on the back patio. Very friendly service, delicious food! Tender and flavorful kabobs. Even the rice was tasty. Got the eggplant appetizer and then the combo plate with chicken and the spiced meat. We will be adding this place to our regular rotation.
A Delightful Afghan Experience at Chopan Kabab Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Chopan Kabab, a restaurant specializing in Afghan cuisine. The restaurant offers a unique and flavorful dining experience that I highly recommend. Although the menu is full of flavorful dishes, my main course was the tandori fish, which was cooked to perfection. The flavors were spot-on, with a balanced blend of spices that tantalized the taste buds. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was visually appealing. The tandori fish was accompanied by a refreshing side salad and warm, soft bread. This combination provided a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The service at Chopan Kabab was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant itself boasted a clean and inviting atmosphere with a cool ambiance. While there was some background noise, it wasn't disruptive to conversation. A big plus for Chopan Kabab is their focus on authentic Afghan food. If you're looking to explore new flavors and culinary traditions, this restaurant is a great choice. Overall, my experience at Chopan Kabab was delightful. The delicious food, excellent service, and cool ambiance make it a restaurant worth visiting. I highly recommend it, especially for those seeking authentic Afghan cuisine.

★★ ★ ★★ Ordered the kabab and it was absolutely delicious. The veggies were fresh, the bolane was amazingly soft and warm. The kabab was perfectly cooked super great. Service was very friendly and accommodating to their customers. I definitely will be there always with my family ❤️ Thank you so much my dear friends Faisal jan
Delicious. The skewers are perfectly seasoned and the bolani is outstanding. Great for take out too. I didn’t know I was missing this in my life.
Great lunch while waiting for Costco tire center, about a 15 minute or less walk away. Delicious home cooked healthy spicy food. Vegan friendly. Warm service.

Rice is spiced with cumin, which makes it super delicious. Absolutely tasty food and very friendly staff! Highly recommended!
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always fresh and flavorful. Service is quick. One of the best spot in the area.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing experience! The food at Chopan Kabob is outstanding—every dish is full of authentic flavor and cooked perfectly. The kabobs are incredibly tender, juicy, and seasoned just right, and the rice and sides complement the meal beautifully. You can truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The customer service is just as impressive. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely care about making sure you enjoy your meal. The atmosphere feels friendly and comfortable, like you’re being hosted by family. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Afghan food with excellent service, this place is a must-visit. Everything from the food to the hospitality is easily 10/10. I will definitely be coming back and recommending Chopan Kabob to my friends and family!
Whether it's your first time there, or you regularly dine in, their 'Combo Plate' is a must have. Comprised of Beef (shami) kabob, steak kabob, and chicken. Perfectly cooked and served with a side of basmati rice and salad. The rice alone deserves an award! The combo plate is one of my absolute favorite dishes on the menu (must have with the different sauces). The wait time is about 15 minutes give or take a few depending on capacity and online orders. It is all worth the wait. Provides both indoor and outdoor seating, parking has never been an issue, and the service is warm and welcoming. My wife and I were regulars here before children. And now, we come as a family of six. 5 stars all around! Enjoy!

Food is good menue on thr google maps needs to be updated
The food was almost authentic Afghan cuisine. The price was reasonable, but the additional services, like beverages, water, their steel mugs, the dishes and ... not as good as I had anticipated.
It's a authentic local cozy Afghan restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Kids friendly in the outside seating. Good for groups and meetup. It's located in a plaza with lots of free parking. We had kitchen and beef kabobs with cumin rice, really tenderly delicious. Dal soup was a bit spicy to me but still refreshing. Will come back for casual eat in or takeout.

OWNER KEEPS WAITERS TIPS IF PAYING ELECTRICALLY. I have been coming here for years, I once heard from the waiters. My family and I have been coming here for the last 10 years or so. I heard from a past waiter that the owner keeps all the tips when customers pay electricity. I ignored it the first time, but when I heard it for the second time, I was extremely disappointed that a owner-operator would do that to its own employees. Many of these employees have families they need to support, and in the restaurant industry tips are extremely important for them. How can a business owner do this to their employees? The food here is great, we have no complaints about that.
Its a small place to eat where you can't plan to come with big groups . Food tastes much better here when we order for catering than going into the restaurant for individual orders. But still tasty and good. The reason for giving two stars is the service. They got my order wrong. i ordered combo mixed Shami and chicken kabob . But he brought something else and he didn't offer any compensation or should have brought the right order instead. He said "bcz you have already put one kabob in my rice plate . So he can't do anything about it now". But the thing is I am not much familiar with Afghan cuisine so initially I didn't know I got the wrong order and was thinking he will bring rest of the thing later .then I realized that it's missing. Anyways , it was their mistake.i also feel like amount of food is less based on the price.

When I got home, I noticed that the chicken tikka masala I had purchased was quite watery and definitely not worth the cost. After speaking with the owner, I was told to return the item for a refund. He was very disrespectful on the phone and that is not how you handle your customers. When I mentioned I live far he advised me to return it the following day so they can give it to another person. Awful Customer Service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’m unable to post the video here so I’ll be posting it on Yelp.
I had heard a lot about this place and was looking forward to trying it, but I was disappointed. The food just wasn’t that good. For the price I paid, I expected something much better—I’ve had tastier meals elsewhere for the same or even less
They are totally scammers I ordered two beef Kabab and one lamb but when I received my order all was beef there was no lamb Kabab I don’t know if they have management or what or they just think how to take money
Extremely small portions. The food was average and cold. The service was bad, the waiter never came to the table to ask us if we needed anything. I would never go back and I would not recommend it.
Extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I called ahead and was told the Family Special would cost $85. However, when I picked up my order, I was charged $102, and the extra cost was attributed to taxes that were never mentioned on the phone. This feels like a clear attempt to mislead customers. The food is average at best, and the pricing inconsistency is frustrating. I strongly advise future customers to confirm all details before ordering because they do not provide transparent pricing.
I ordered a beef Kobidah , I don’t think even 10% of it beef with un cooked rice. And $25 for two pieces which is equal to one normal.
Went here over the weekend for a Ramadan Iftaar Buffet in San Ramon. Pakistani ppl were pushing elderly disabled women rushing to get get food at a buffet as if they were starving . Others were calling their family to come cut everyone else that was patiently waiting and also fasting. This was not ADA friendly. The “men” took over the whole prayer section. Didn’t even have the decency to leave the back open for women. There were about a dozen of us hijabis and only 3 of us actually prayed. Idk why women treat hijab as an ornament. The lack of athlaq was disturbing on Ramadan by so called “Muslims.” As far as the service goes, horrible. No hospitality whatsoever. The guy at the register put dates on a napkin w his bare hands then went to grab the pen and handle money out the register. Health department needs to check this place out. There is a transfer of germs. He was also curt. He used plates for some ppl and napkins for others. As far the food, the chapli kabob had good flavor but a little burnt. The naan was good. And samosas were good flavor . The chicken korma was dried out like it had been reheated from days prior. The chicken kabob was also dried out. The qabuli pallow was mushy. The lettuce was wilted. The chaat was not tasty nor the watered down soup that wasn’t even warm. For dessert there was no fruit. Only firni which had good flavor. As for the atmosphere, it was jam packed with tables. You couldn’t even get up without touching the ppl in the table next to you. It is a fire hazard to have it so jam packed. The rude cashier said we had to eat in the back but allowed others that also had the buffet to dine inside even though there were seats still available in the back. I am so glad I experienced this so I know to not ever cater from here or ever book events here. I was looking for a banquet hall. I am grateful I only spent a couple hundred instead of a couple of thousand here. +$30 for a buffet w tip was so not worth it for this experience/food. I thought it was going to be a nice community event where Muslims break fast/pray together. But unfortunately it was greed, rudeness, lack of hospitality and food that was not fresh. I don’t usually write reviews but I rely on truthful reviews and wanted to share my experience to help others.
