Amazing diner food and kind service. The fried chicken sandwich is a flavorful treat for dads, moms, and anyone else. The turkey burger, sweet potato fries, and onion rings are terrific too.
Nice diner. Cozy. Colleen was great! I'm grateful they had gluten-free buns. Love that the beef for the burgers is local angus.
Great place, great staff. A bit pricey but that’s probably because some food distributor (likely Sysco) bumped up the prices and they have no choice.
We had such a great time visiting Dad's! Colleen and Gabby were an absolute delight! This is a must stop for a nice small town diner out of a hallmark movie!
Nice diner with old school feel. Prompt friendly service and a really good cup of coffee. Large portions
Excellent spot that we (4 adults, 1 kiddo) found just outside of Bash Bish Falls. Great and friendly service - really enjoyed talking to our server! Stellar burgers, fries and tots. Would recommend to anyone who wants satisfying diner food after a day of hiking.
Dad’s diner: a nostalgic homage to the dining culture of the 50s. It gives the sense of things long forgotten and a dream of America that never died. The food was delicious and clearly made to order. Alyssa our lovely waitress was so kind and accommodating. I get the sense that if we were to dine here regularly they would know our order.
I would have to say. Hands down the most retro, chic, right out of a classic movie diner. The staff was super jolly and had amazing energy. After a long hike at the Taconic mountains, couldn’t ask for a better place to refuel. The food was just chefs kiss. Best burger I’ve had in a long time. And I mean that with the taste still lingering while I’m writing this review. Coffee was just pure bliss. I don’t know what kind of wizardry they got cooking in the kitchen but they have my utmost respect. I will be coming back to get the rest of the menu. Peace.✌️
We love taking the ride to Copake NY and stopping in for breakfast or lunch. The food is always made fresh and delicious. Specializing in wings, home style meals as well as amazing homemade desserts. I have to say that the cook prepares the Best Yet Taco Salad I’ve ever had. It comes in a homemade tortilla shell filled with the freshest and most delicious salad ingredients. It’s a laidback family style restaurant so take your time and enjoy!! Loved the Elvis Memorabilia and the 50’s look. Will be back
After a long day driving we stopped at Dad's in late afternoon. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with corned beef, fries, cole slaw and pickle. It was perfect. It was grilled and assembled perfectly. Each ingredient was just right so each flavor could be tasted. Not over and not under. The wait staff was great. The ladies were pleasnt and took care of our order so nicely. The atmosphere was great. The place was as clean and bright as can be. Being of a certain age the music playing, the car art along with the great furniture evoked a period I haven't been in touch with for a long while. We'll be back.
Food was great and so was the service. It's a 1950's throwback diner for sure, and it hits the mark. Everyone was so nice, and the staff was attentive. The food was great. My wife ordered breakfast, which is served all day. I got a burger and my daughter got a Reuben. We also got three deserts. The chocolate lava cake was awesome as was the coconut cream pie and fried dough with a side of ice cream. Way too much food but it was so good. The price was great too! We can't wait to go back. It was worth the 40 minute drive
Sumptuous food at unbeatable prices. Desserts to DIE for! High-chairs available for young children. Bathroom and facilities clean. Ample parking in rear, as well as al fresco dining, with concession hatch for the service of ice cream. Very friendly waitress indoors. Free wi-fi, though it was not working during this review. Vestibule with local bulletins, newspapers and advertisements. Retro feel, complete with golden oldies (1960s) playing on loop.
Stopped in for a quick bite after hiking/waterfalls. Food was good. Our service was above and beyond. Our server was training someone new and doing a fantastic job balancing everything from greeting and seating as new customers walked in the front door, to showing the new hire how to plate desserts. Will come back if in the area.
Good diner food. Staff was friendly. It’s definitely a busy place on the weekends and has a strong local customer base. Plenty of great choices on the menu and generous portions. Would recommend. They seemed a bit understaffed and the food was a little bland, but good pricing though. Overall, a good time. Hope this helps!
After a 2 plus hour drive, I look forward to a good breakfast and my morning coffee. Food, Service, Atmosphere, never disappoints. However, for a few years now the coffee is so weak it's like water. I only wish that they would make some changes.
Friendly atmosphere and typical diner. Hostess seems half awake at 9:30 Sunday morning. The food was lacking a lot. My Irish Benny was like it was from a can, the hash and the hollandaise sauce were bland, the English muffin soggy and the home fires more burned than cooked. Lunch a few months back was much better, probably very much who's cooking dependent!
I live in PA and my family comes here to visit family friends. The first two times we were here it was pretty good and reasonably priced. The third time I was there the waffle maker was broken and that’s all I wanted. Which I understand but it’s still frustrating. Then, my bacon came out and it was as hard as a rock. We came back again when we were in town and ordered “waffles with fruit topping” for $8.99. We ordered two of these. When we ordered she asked us what fruit we wanted and she gave us the options of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, or all. We picked all thinking this would be mixed berries with no warning they were going to charge us for each topping. They charged us $13 and some change for two waffles, $4 for strawberries, $4 for blueberries, $4 for bananas, and $2 for whipped cream… not sure where that even came from since we never asked for it and it wasn’t on the menu. WE PAID $14 FOR TOPPINGS…. that is insane. We also asked for 2 sides of bacon and they tried to charge us for 4 before I asked them to take it off. Finally, we got the bowl that says “served with your choice of toast” and they charged us for the toast. When we brought it to their attention, the lady had taken the receipt out of our hands and came back and threw it down before we could even mention the rest of our issues. I went up to the counter and said how we asked for the waffles with fruit topping for $8.99 and never were told that we had to pay for the toppings. They told me that the most they could do was take $1 off for each topping meaning they would take off $4 since there were 4 toppings and I couldn’t even get them to give me that. They gave us $3 off, took off two of these bacons since we asked for 2, not 4, and then proceeded to add a 20% gratuity to the bill ($14.93) when there were 4 of us. This left our total at $100. FOUR PEOPLE… BREAKFAST… $100. That is outrageous. We tried to give them multiple chances but we will no longer be coming back here as it has gone extremely downhill.
