Pasamos por delante y nos llamó la atención. La comida muy rica y el servicio muy rápido. La berenjena en tempura estaba deliciosa y es una ración bastante grande. 100% recomendable

Le daría 4.000.000 de estrellas a este local. Se come perfectamente bien y te tratan super bien. La atención de las camareras, excelente. Especialmente a Asun. La comida 2.000.000 de estrellas. Nada más, mirar está foto de los zarajos. (Por cierto, un plato super tipiquisimo de Cuenca, España. El servicio, refiriéndose a las camareras, excelente. Como servicio de baño, si que tienen. Y el ambiente ni se hable. Lo recomiendo para todos los públicos.

Muy buen sitio para desayunar, paramos a desayunar por casualidad y nos encantó, tiene mucha variedad en su carta para todos los gustos y a muy buen precio, pegado a la catedral y con una amplia terraza. Servicio muy amable y eficaz.

Nos ha encantado todos los platos el humus de tartufo está delicioso, y Ángeles es una excelente profesional llena de simpatía y buen hacer, precios moderados, el lugar ubicado en un lugar excelente al lado de la catedral, debería ser un imprescindible en la visita a esta preciosa tierra de Cuenca

I had a super meal here, and for a very reasonable price: the Menu del Dia was €15 or thereabouts, including bread and coffee. I had a great red ale to drink, and each of the three courses was delicious. I can’t believe the average score at the moment isn’t higher- I think mainly because the waitress/waiter is absolutely rushed off their feet. When I visited I think the waitress was called Miriam, at least that’s what it said on the bill, and she was doing an amazing job keeping up with all the tables and in a courteous and friendly way too. But she seemed to be doing all the work while one other staff was much slower, so I can imagine on days when she’s not working maybe some customers might suffer. Overall was a brilliant meal and my siesta afterwards felt very natural :)

Nice little bar in the old part of town in Cuecna. We stopped here for a drink while wandering around the city. The staff are friendly and you also get a nice tapa with your drink. We were here before lunch time so didn’t try any food but the bar is very well situated and definitely recommend stopping here for a drink if you are around.

La comida muy rica y tradicional. Ambiente increíble en una zona espectacular. Lastima que el servicio es lento. El nivel en general es buenísimo, recomiendo ir 100% ya que complementa la experiencia del casco historico de la ciudad.

Muy recomendable! La comida estaba muy buena y las cantidades a compartir entre tres personas nos han parecido perfectas. Lo único malo, el parón que ha habido entre los dos primeros platos y los dos segundos platos, han tardado bastante en salir. El resto muy bien, los aseos en buenas condiciones y el ambiente bastante acogedor, muy bonita decoración inspirada en Vespa. Aconsejo reservar ya que el local no es muy grande y tiene bastante afluencia, aunque cuenta con terraza, pero ahora en invierno apetece más interior.

Fuimos a cenar al Pícaro un día entre semana cercano a la hora del cierre. Nos atendieron con mucha amabilidad. Los platos estaban buenos y bien presentados, y el local era acogedor.

The restaurant is located in a hidden corner of Plaza Mayor. It looks really nice inside and also has a good outdoor seating area. Food is alright, not wow.

Hemos pedido menú del día, la verdad no me pareció gran cosa. Las albóndigas de verduras fatal. En el menu infantil sirven la carne sola y no hamburguesa De postre, tarta de chocolate, que no era una tarta como tal, era más bien un pudding. El servicio bien, aunque entre un plato y otro hemos esperado aprox 20min. La decoración muy acogedora.

We stopped by because we got hungry before any restaurants would open and ended up dining here because the food was actually very good. I gave 2 stars because, as you can see, we were charged extra on every single thing that we ordered! When I asked about it I was told that it was an extra charge for the terraza. That was not (as it usually is) printed on the menu and in fact, if I knew I would have happily moved inside since in the terraza we had to constantly figh off flies and we got disturbed by a big group of drunk, loud people... Watch out.

Malísima experiencia, hemos estado esperando 45 minutos para el primer plato y había mesas vacías (viernes a la hora de comer), para el segundo plato otra media hora, y para mí sorpresa el solomillo de cerdo al roquefort estaba chamuscado, lo podéis ver en la imagen, lo devolví sin comerme la mitad porque la otra opción era esperar otra media hora. Los camareros muy despistados, trayendo cosas que no son, olvidándose de otras. De verdad que no puede haber sido una experiencia peor. Las mesas de alrededor nuestra que llevaban mucho más que nosotros, no les llegaban las cosas, o no les atendían. Es una lástima porque se te quitan las ganas de venir a restaurantes así.

I had a really unpleasant experience at this café. The waitress threw my coffee onto the table without any care, spilling some in the process, and her attitude was incredibly rude. There was no apology or basic courtesy at all. It’s a shame, because the place could be nice, but the service completely ruined it. Definitely not coming back.

The service is friendly and the location is decent. The food is outrageously overpriced and the quality is very low. It looks and tastes like microwaved supermarket food, yet the prices are unbelievable. Don’t go here!

I was overcharged by a comical amount earlier today. I honestly do not understand why certain restaurants in Spain overcharge tourists. The prices are on the menu both inside and outside the restaurant. When we compare the prices on the menu to the price on the receipt, we are obviously going to see the discrepancies and raise a stink. Why do it? I came here with my two sons while visiting the historical center of Cuenca. We ordered 3 hamburgers, which were listed as 17.50 euros each. The burgers were excellent. We modified one of the burgers for my younger son because he only wanted cheese as a topping, and the kitchen even got that right. We were extremely satisfied customers, which is why I do not understand why the restaurant would do something as stupid as overcharge us by 1 measly euro per burger. I also do not understand the culture of asking the customer, “Is the bill okay?” in order to pretend all is well. Why would I raise an overcharging issue in front of my kids and fight with restaurant staff over 3 euros? As far as any potential language difficulties go, as you can see on the menu, there is not a single burger that costs 18.5 euros. Avoid this place and give your business to the other establishments in the area.

We have been to Cuenca a lot and the first time here in Picaro. Worst service of any bar in town. Surly and rude staff who basically do not care . Can’t even give eye contact and we speak Spanish. So slow a tortoise could get a job here easily and probably still be the best camarero . Avoid.

If I could give 0stars for service I would. Terrible attitude, when food actually comes out it’s just thrown down on the table. No hospitality whatsoever. Thankfully not all Spanish hospitality is as bad as this. Do yourself a favour and go to the restaurant next door instead.

Here’s a tidied-up but still strong version of your review that keeps the frustration clear without losing credibility: --- Such a shame, but this restaurant/establishment was terrible. Staff were rude, lied about our food orders, rolled their eyes, and took over an hour to bring a simple plate of chips for my 8-year-old son, who was hungry. We politely asked four times where they were. When the food finally arrived, it was average at best. We are Spanish but live in England – and it was very clear they do not like tourists..!!

If you are English then avoid at all costs. We had to wait for an hour for a bottle of wine as they said it needed to be chilled, over an hour for a plate of chips for a child. At one point they gave us two pints of beer when we asked for two glasses of wine then argued with us when we said we didn’t order beer. If we asked where our food and drinks were the staff were very rude and dismissive. The food was gross and served with no care given. Plates virtually slammed onto the table when served. The toilets were also a mess and there was no lock on the door. Very unfriendly towards any English speaking people and this really did ruin the Cuenca vibe. You can tell the attitude towards tourists in Cuenca has unfortunately gotten a lot worse.

Dreadful restaurant and would totally avoid! The food was fine, however, the staff and service were dreadful. Staff ignoring us, extremely rude, and made it very clear they did not want English people at their restaurant. We ordered food and drink, had to ask 5 times for missing items. Staff were dismissive. We went twice and when asked for the bill, we were waiting around half an hour. When reminding staff, they were again very dismissive and rude. We could not have felt anymore unwelcome.

We visited this restaurant in the beautiful city of Cuenca on a sunny day. Unfortunately, our experience at Picaro wasn't as great. We had to wait a long time for our order to be taken, apparently due to a busy kitchen, which was understandable. However, there wasn't even time to bring us another drink. In the meantime, people who arrived after us could order and did get food... The starters were tasty and helped a bit to make up for the wait. For the main course, the Solomillo was tasty, but the Lubina was bland and unexciting. While ordering, we selected promising desserts, but after a 2.5-hour wait, they were no longer available, and we were served cheap store-bought ice cream instead. Additionally, the toilet was very dirty and broken, so we couldn't use it. The restaurant might be better on quieter days, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.

Very disappointing visit, having booked a table based on Google reviews. From being ignored at the entrance, whilst bar staff chatted and drank, to the dreadful food. Plus points - busy place with nice decor, loud music - a popular place for a Saturday evening drink evidently. The food however was not good. The burger was cold, as were the fries (which seemed days old), My daughter's food was also cold, and obviously reheated from who knows when. The eggs had been cooked fresh, thankfully, and were warm, but sat on top of the cold old food. My meat was hot, but again it didn't taste fresh - my thoughts were that old / dirty oil had been used for the cooking. When it came to pay we said that the food hadn't been good and was cold, to be told 'why didn't you say? We could have reheated it? ' It was beyond repair. A free local drink was provided to soften the blow but it will remain one of our worst meals in Spain (and we've been here for years!).
