As a local this has always been a great place to go while downtown, it's a specific thing but the dipping sauce is easily the best in the city. And if I could recommend one thing it would be the pork and chive dumplings done as pot stickers.

Amazing staff and incredible food!! The vegetable dumplings are vegan and so good. We had the pan fried and the steamed, both are amazing but the crispy panfried was our favorite

The place is very old looking, but the food is phenomenal. Very good hand made dumplings. The pan fried had beautiful crisp that was also soft and chewy. The steamed had great juices and lots of flavor.

Love their pan fried or deep fried dumplings. Vegetarian options available. Pretty good variety of food, I usually can't finish their portion (12 dumplings) so it lasts 2 meals for me. Fast service.

We ordered the fish and chips, Pork and chives pot stickers, general Tso chicken, and Thai tea. It was so much food and we had plenty of left overs. I will be definitely coming back.

A former Fish & Chips restaurant that turned into a dumpling restaurant, and for the price, the dumplings can't be best. Recommend their chicken (which comes with corn) or their pork and chives dumplings ($13 for 12). What makes them unique is that the dumpling skin is a little thicker, so they taste delicious fried. They still have fish and chips, which is surprisingly good. The fish is lightly battered and less fried than the typical fish and chips, so it tastes a little different, but healthier. Only downsides is that they serve all the food in takeout containers (even when you're dining in) and their outdoor tables are all plastic picnic tables

We tried 4 different varieties of dumplings, and the Pork Chive was our groups favorite. Sitting out on the patio was such a wonderful casual way to enjoy Downtown Davis wine we ate! Plus the service was fantastic!! Love those sweet ladies :)

They also have other items to make it a complete meal such as stir fried vegetable dishes, noodle and rice plates, also fish and chips. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Once you place your order, just sit down and they somehow will find you where ever you are sitting. Food comes out pretty fast. They have a water station near where you order your food where you can get your own water. If you are sharing and need plates, you can asked them for cardboard trays. Ambiance is chill. It’s a nice place for a small group to eat good food and chit chat.

Super tasty! The Eggplant and Tofu dish was amazing, melt in your mouth perfection. The chicken dumplings was delicious as well, perfect taste for dumplings. The staff is friendly as well and answer any questions you may have.

Went here because I heard it was really popular. The food did not disappoint, My girlfriend got the popcorn chicken while I got the 12pc Beef Dumplings. At 1 dollar a dumpling, I can not complain! The meat was tender and delicious while the popcorn chicken was just the right crispness. Not to mention the paprika they add. Delightful! I do have to say their menu options are quite limited compared to other dumpling houses I’ve been too, but they definitely have more variety in the drinks then others. Drinks were really good too!

Came here for a quick snack of dumplings. It was raining hard on a weekend. The store was almost full. I'm glad there's space to eat outside because the inside smelled overwhelmingly like cleaning product. It was also stuffy, so we just grabbed a sauce bottle and sat outside, to which someone delivered our food which was nice. We got the chicken and vegetable dumplings, calamari, and pork potstickers. Different restaurants have different interpretations of calamari; this calamari is chewy and in large rings. It's best dipped in sauce since the breading doesn't taste like much. The dumplings and potstickers were in good portions. The difference between them is that one is fried and the other is steamed. Personally, I liked the potstickers more. All the foods were juicy inside. Overall I think you get the bang for your buck here. The service was quick and it's a no-frills spot. I'd be more than happy to have this restaurant around if I was a college student in Davis.

Great selection of dumplings. I especially liked the fried potstickers and fried tofu. You can tell the dumplings are freshly made, just wished they were flavored a little more intensely, they're a little bland, but acceptable. Quick service.

The flavor is still good, their dumplings have slightly changed in shape/size, quite a bit smaller then they used to be. Cream cheese wantons are exactly the same though, the sweet and sour sauce is a bit more vinegary. Still very excited they are back though

Not only do they have home made dumplings, they also have other menu items such as Asian: noodles, vegetable dishes, popcorn chicken, green onion pancakes, AND fish n chips with the customary sides. Lots of options. The business was a fish n chips shop before the current owners took ownership in 2010. Cool that they kept those items on the menu. Even with the varied menu options, for me the main attraction is the dumplings. Pan fried, deep fried, or steamed. Variety of fillings. My fave is the steamed pork n chives. The density and the texture of the filling is spot on. The flavor is good. The green onion pancakes are also a fave of mine. Orders are taken at the register in the building. Sit anywhere and they'll bring your food to you.There is indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is not particularly large. And the outdoor seating is picnic table style. It's a no frills kinda place.

Dumpling house and London fish and chips shares the same location. You find DH's items on one side of the menu, and LFS's menu on the other. This seems like a pretty small family run business. We ordered fried dumplings and dumplings in sour. The dumplings are well stuffed. The sauce that comes with it is a bit sweeter than I expect. Overall ok experience. Everything comes with togo box. It might be better to just order togo next time...

Food came out fresh and hot. I really liked the sauce that came with the dumplings. You get 12 with a single order, so plenty of food.

I love a good dumpling, but since Covid, there is “zero” service. Which is a shame that we can’t bring back the practices that we had before the pandemic. But the worst is that plastic containers have become their normal serving vessel. Everything is served in them regardless of whether you’re dining in or taking out. I can’t believe there is no consideration of the environment! Do they really think that stuff gets recycled?! What a waste! And to think this is happening in a college town! An agricultural school, to boot! We won’t be frequenting the Dumpling House again until that practice is halted.

The food was average/good. I was distressed they serve food in plastic takeout containers, even though I was dining in. The piping hot food went straight from the frying pan into the disposable plastic containers, unlocking plastic toxins. These containers are bad for my body and for the environment. I don't order takeout for this reason, and am dismayed that even when I dine in I can't escape the plastic waste.

Used to be my favorite place in Davis, I ate here often when I was working for the university. Was eagerly awaiting their reopening and excited to support them again... but It's just not as good. Still probably a decent deal if you're craving dumplings. The pros: 1. The veggies dishes are cooked to a perfect done-ness, and very flavorful. 2. The people who work there are very nice and I like supporting them 3. The dumplings are handmade! The cons. 1. Prices have gone up - totally fine as this is how it is everywhere now, but the quality of the food has not remained the same. 2. The dumplings have more dough in them, taking away from the enjoyment of the filling. 3. The "popcorn chicken" (used to be "5-spice breaded chicken") is now a greasy pile of unknown chicken parts with too little salt. 4. The broccoli side used to be beautiful Chinese (the elongated ones) tossed with fresh garlic, but now seems to be just a couple spoonfuls of pre-minced garlic thrown onto blanched broccoli. Probably the worst part... when I got my food last night, my friend and I walked a block away to eat and we unboxed everything, the dumplings were lukewarm. The other dishes (popcorn chicken and broccoli) were still very hot. I don't know if this is because they were sitting out for a while, but lukewarm pork dumplings made us really uneasy and we waited to eat them until we got them home and cooked them in the pan to appropriate temp. Probably not going back, sadly. Sorry Dumpling House, maybe I'm just too picky as I have aged.

The dumplings are surprisingly good and you get a lot for the money. The only down side out you're sitting out on a patio on a picnic table.

The dumplings were very mediocre for a place that specializes in dumplings. They are the same quality if you get them from tasty kitchen, which is fine for Davis but not for me. The food was soggy and over-greasy. The sauce that came with it did not balance the flavors well. I asked for chili oil togo and was told they don’t have any, as I’m looking at the containers on each table! This is fine for broke college kids trying to have a meal but not worth it for me.

The pork and chives potstickers were good! My complaint is in the general chicken order where the noodles are bland but with a kick, it’s oddly confusing. Not to mention a HAIR was in there so I couldn’t enjoy it anymore after only eating less than half

I have been here several times, and while at times the food is delicious, other times it has not a good experience. The first time I took my boyfriend here when he flew up to visit me, he got terrible food poisoning from his meal and was out for a few days. I thought it was maybe a one off experience, however, the next time I went here, they got my order wrong and gave me food that contained something I was allergic to. Luckily I had taken allergy meds earlier that day so it didn’t affect me as badly as it could have, but I still got a little sick from it. My roommates have also gone, and several of their friends at times have gotten sick from the food. The service is great and so is the ambience, but I feel like not enough care is taken at times when it comes to preparing the food, and as a result, people get sick.

I accidentally ordered fried dumplings instead of boiled and they refused to make me boiled dumplings free of charge. Made me extremely upset because I spent $30 getting those disgusting fried dumplings door dashed to my apartment, when that wasn't what I wanted. Then, I ordered boiled dumplings and they were PINK on the inside. Disgusting disgusting. Never ordering from here again. Inside of restaurant is very plain and service is unhelpful.

hello. it’s me. so this resturqnt SUCKED. immediately when we entered the building, the vibes were off. there were barely any decorations on the wall, the furniture was bare, in one of the rooms there were just things scattered. now, we went to this restaurant with the precognition of it being REALLY REALLY good. but it wasn’t. if anybody says that this place was good, don’t trust them. now the food itself. theb service was teriible where it took awhile for it to come it also was just server in some random plastic containers rather than actual plates. there weren’t that many people either but the food was all basic and bad. if you’re looking for chinesse food with red white and blue plastered all over it, go ahead and die from this. i’m leaving. WITH HATE

I can’t believe we paid $60 and did not even get a plate! I really recommend BYOP (bring your own plate)! Way too expensive and the food was mediocre at best. I am sorry but that was $60 which is a lot for a quick light lunch without a plate
