Preguntas frecuentes sobre La Feria
Opiniones de La Feria Detroit
I found this place 10 years ago when my reservations at another restaurant fell through. The food is impeccable, fresh, delicious, and light. I'm a chef myself from Napa, and don't eat out much, but when I do.. You can BET..it's "La Feria".
Hands down my favorite place to go for Spanish tapas in Metro Detroit. Their food is authentic and made with tremendous love and admiration for the country of Spain. Their addition they put on still maintains the quaint and cozy feel of this small dining area. We typically sit at the bar and its always a treat to interact with the bartenders. I've always wanted to go to Spain and when I step into this restaurant I feel I'm in one of the many unique small towns of Northern Spain. Gracias a todos!
La Feria is nothing short of a hidden gem in the heart of Detroit. My girlfriend and I visited for a date night, and from the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded every expectation. On our way in, we ran into another couple in the parking lot who raved about the restaurant, calling it their favorite in all of Detroit. They specifically recommended the steak, and while I was hesitant at first, I’m so glad we followed their advice. The steak? Absolutely legendary. So good, in fact, that we ended up ordering it not once, not twice, but three times. Cooked to a flawless medium-rare, with minimal gray and an impressive sear, it’s hands down some of the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. The three accompanying sauces—a bold blue cheese, a nutty romesco, and a peppery white peppercorn—elevated it to another level entirely. Each bite was a symphony of flavors. The tapas we tried were equally impressive. The gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) were heavenly, with tender, perfectly cooked shrimp swimming in an aromatic, garlicky oil that practically begged for bread-dipping. And the calamari? Absolutely essential. Tender, crispy, and bursting with flavor, it’s an absolute must-order. Beyond the food, the ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for an intimate dinner or a lively gathering. As if all of this weren’t enough, La Feria has shared that they’ve been experiencing a slower season recently, which is hard to fathom given the incredible quality they’re delivering. Our server was excellent and also mentioned that they will be doing Wednesday Paellas starting in February, and they often will have live bands. If you’re in Detroit, do yourself a favor and visit La Feria. Order the steak. Try the calamari. Tell your friends, your coworkers, your neighbors—everyone. This is a restaurant worth celebrating and supporting. I’ll be back soon, and I’m bringing reinforcements!
La Feria is an absolute gem! I can’t rave enough about the calamares fritos—a perfect 10 out of 10, crispy and bursting with flavor (and the alioli they pair it with... amazing). The paella stands out, earning a solid chef’s kiss for its incredible taste and presentation. And the sangria? It’s the cherry on top of an already fantastic meal! The service is top-notch, making us feel right at home, and the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. I wholeheartedly recommend La Feria to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. This place is a must-visit, and I can’t wait to return!
Very good tapas dining. Great staff and great food. I always spend at least 100 here, and its worth it. As fo recommendations.....all of it!
Wow!! Amazing food that fit everyone's needs including our vegan and gluten free family members. Outstanding service from Emry. Easy parking. Will be back again. May be my new favorite restaurant.
I stopped in here on a whim. I was enjoying downtown Detroit, kind of looking for something to eat. I decided to go back to the hotel, but pulled over on my way out. La Feria caught my eye. After reading the menu outside, I realized it was not a Mexican restaurant. Lee, my server, was excellent. He poured me a nice glass of Pinot Noir. I simply asked for a red he would recommend. I usually only like Cabs, but this one was delicious. The Gambas al Ajillo tapa came out quickly, hot. Shrimp with garlic, pepper flakes, and bathed in oil. Lee also recommended the paella, which I have never ordered before. It was one of the better dishes I've ever had. Take time out of your day to eat here!
Excellent service, loved our mocktails, and not a single dish was less than stellar.
We stopped in with my two adult children out of the blue and asked for a table. Though they had reservations starting at 6:00. They sat us at 5:00 and asked us if we could be done in an hour which we said would be no problem. The waiter still did not rush us and we felt completely comfortable throughout the experience. We ordered at least 12 different plates because they're small servings and I don't have a single complaint about any of them. They all came out quickly hot and were delicious. We appreciated them accommodating us and more importantly we had great drinks and a wonderful meal.
This place is an absolute gem! My wife and I were visiting Detroit and searching for a nice little spot to have dinner. We stumbled upon La Feria and it has become an instant favorite of ours. The vibe is true to the Iberian spirit, the staff are attentive and incredibly welcoming, great wine selection, and the food…wow! Incredible! Absolutely delicious! I grew up in a Portuguese household (both of my parents were born there) and this place absolutely positively captures the essence of the Iberian culture. Everything we ordered was perfect. Fresh, well seasoned, and so delicious. Reminded me of home cooked meals prepared by my family. Where we come from, Iberian restaurants are a dime a dozen. Little did we know that we would find a place as good as this on our travels. Honestly, it was better than the tapas bar in our neighborhood back east. We will definitely be stopping in next time we’re in town.
Truly delicious tapas at a reasonable price and with friendly service. We will definitely be back.
My go to for authentic Spanish tapas. I eat here a couple times a year and it never disappoints. Love their sangria.
I felt like I was back in Spain. Everything was wonderful (service, ambience, details) and the food was exquisite.
Excellent food and service, supported by attentive management. I had a lovely evening with a lady friend at La Feria. The variety of Tapas plates was well prepared and served with graciousness by server. I no longer drink wine, but was impressed by the vast selection of vintages available. I think most folks with a desire for good food, good service and cozy ambience would find La Feria a satisfying destination.
We stumbled onto this place when we were walking around Detroit. It's extremely good. Me and my wife shared a number of small plates and loved all of them. The owner is from Spain and is very nice. The bartender was also very nice, attentive and informative. You can also purchase wines and other Spanish foods to take home. Reservations are recommended. We got there close to when they were open and sat at the bar, so getting in wasn't bad.
Great place. Excellent service, delicious food and an overall chill atmosphere. Wish I could frequent the place more often!
Ok, it's a little unassuming from the outside, but totally worth the stop. A ton to choose from and not a bad thing on the menu. This is real tapas done right. Daily specials, and a staff that actually knows what they are serving. Prices are to be expected, averaging $5-7/plate. Give this place a shot if you're wanting to try something new.
Food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was top notch with great recommendations (get the bacon wrapped dates!!) I'm not a wine guy, but their house sangria is top notch. Not sweet at all (actually a tad smokey). I could drink those all day. Make sure to check out the new wine bar next door (connected)
Most of the time and even if the person isn’t a big eaters small plates and tapas feel like the work of a restaurant genius who managed to have customer happily pay $15 for two ounces of food. La Féria is about making sure their customers leave satisfied and they pull it off. The portions are tasty and generous without being caustic or looking for a place to buy mints or heartburn medication. I’ve been to Spain several times and I felt like I was in Seville. Only, la Féria also has more vegetarian features—no need to bribe a restaurant to make me a salad like I did in Southern Spain. How can you please so many people? It all comes down to basics, good chicken, seafood, salads, vegetables and service and all that lack of complication means that you’ll come back and don’t need a dictionary to order.
Located in the vibrant heart of Midtown, Detroit, this tapas restaurant is a true gem. For the perfect meal, I highly recommend indulging in a selection of their exquisite dishes: the flavorful mixed olives, the delightful combination of manchego cheese and membrillo, the delectable mushrooms in green sauce, the savory morcilla, and the grilled squid that melts in your mouth. Pair this delightful feast with a glass of crisp white wine, and you're in for a culinary delight. The ambiance of the place is charming, and the wait staff is not only attentive but also genuinely friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner date or simply seeking a memorable evening filled with delicious tapas, this place is an excellent choice.
Consistently great food, with plenty of variety for any palate. Staff is warm and welcoming, always ready with a good food or wine recommendation. It can get crowded, but the bar is arguably the best seat in the house.
Pilar was so welcoming that I told her it felt like she invited us into her home! We didn't have a reservation, but arrived at a non-peak time and were seated at the bar. G gave us impeccable service! We shared several dishes, enjoyed a couple of drinks, and bought some items from the mercado to take home for us and to share with family. We will absolutely come back! La Feria is a lovely gem of a spot with the most delicious tapas, fabulous drinks, and welcoming people ❤️ Pic of Black Matte cocktail
It's been more than 2 years since I ate Spanish food, and I was in Detroit this weekend and I found this restaurant on Google and wanted to give it a try, went there and everyone was so nice, I even spoke with the owner in spanish, food was good and they had 2 guys playing guitar and singing and a woman dancing flamenco and using/playing castañuelas/castanets😊
The food was delicious!!!! Service was awesome!!!!! Customer vibes were mellow and laid back. Nice conversation spot, date spot, sipping slowly spot, and the prices were great. I had crimini, seared shrimp, and eggplant...all the dishes were great. Agua de Valencia drink was perfect for me to be jolly but sober😉
Its easy to spend money here and thats a good thing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and there is a lot to try.
Wonderful Tapas place! Cozy environment. Friendly staff. Portion sizes perfect and appropriately priced. Homemade sangria a winner. Can be busy at times. Had no wait On Saturday morning when it first opened. Great for friends, family, and dates. Easily accessible from anywhere in Metro Detroit.
Great place for tapas and wines. The sangria was perfect!! You can buy a bottle and open there, and take the rest home if you don't finish. Great selection of Spanish Wines. Tapas are very good and you can share them with 2 or 4 people. We tried the meat skewers, calamari, fried fishes and the garlic chicken. Everything was delicious and freshly made. Coming back to try the rest!
My husband and I went for our anniversary, we sat at the bar and were waited on by Lee who was so friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, easy to talk to and overall made the experience wonderful and he can make a WONDERFUL drink. It was our first time there and we enjoyed our experience and look forward to the next date night there. We ordered quite a bit of items some things we’ve never thought to try and some things we thought were the “normal” and we thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Wonderful service, wonderful food & wonderful experience.
Great tapas. The sauce on the patata bravas were top notch. Only critique would be to work on crispiness. The calamari may be the best I’ve ever had. Hats off to the chefs. Sangria was a hit as well! All in all, would recommend.
Somehow we had never heard of this place until earlier this week. The food was incredible, but I really made time to leave a review for the service. If I could rate it a 10/5, that’s what it deserved. We didn’t make a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in at the bar on the newer side. Lucas was our bartender and from the get-go, he was outstanding. I always feel bad not ordering a cocktail at the bar and said I was just going to be boring with a mocktail. He said “that’s not boring at all!” He made the BEST food recommendations (can’t even list my favorites because they were all excellent). It just felt like Lucas was happy to be there and with a lot of mediocre experiences in this day and age, it was extremely refreshing. Thank you for the grand time. We will be back!
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Detroit. My husband and I have had nearly everything on the menu at this point and there hasn't been a single thing that has ever disappointed us. Also, as a margarita snob, I've always said this place has the best classic margarita I've ever had - though its sometimes hard to choose between that and the sangria!
This is a great spot in the Cass corridor. The tapas style dining is our favorite way to linger over a meal with friends. The food is excellent and the service is great. They have an excellent wine cellar and great cocktails. Love this place.
La Feria staff was friendly and engaging. The food was delicious! We enjoyed several tapas and drinks sitting at the bar and were very happy with the quality of the food and drinks. I will most definitely be back and try a full meal experience. Nice atmosphere for catching up with a friend and having some drinks and aps!
Just had dinner here at the bar. Lucas K was the bar tender who served us. He was extremely knowledgeable recommending great drinks, food, and provided 10/10 service. The atmosphere was great with amazing music in the background and the vibes of the restaurant made my wife and I feel like we were in Europe. We couldn’t recommend this spot more and we will be back.
5 stars for everything!!! Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing night out. We ordered mini tapas, sardines, and croquettes—everything was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. The service was super quick and friendly, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for authentic and tasty tapas!
The flat steak and the baby octopus were 10/10. If I come back, I think I could order 10 of them and not get tired of it. I wish the portions were bigger, but its a tapas place so I guess the portions are supposed to be small. Waiters were knowledgeable and could explain different menu items and drinks to me. Street parking isn't free and depending on what time of the day you go, you won't find parking ever.
Check this out! That beautiful square fuchsia -hued deliciousness is beet gazpacho! Four us enjoyed so many flavors and textures. Do you like canned sardines? Try the fresh roasted sardines! Aren’t they cute! - the skin and bones are crunchy-chew well! Ask for the pulpo sliced - it’s soft and slightly sweet and fun. It’s a tentacle - you get to eat an octopus’s tentacle! The wine was rich and perfect with the variety of foods. Agua de Valencia, a Mediterranean cocktail crafted with oranges and cava, is not on the menu, but they will make it for you. The churros are fresh and warm and crunchy. Someone in the kitchen was a bit too enthusiastic and overcooked the tortilla, wonderful comfort food made with eggs and potatoes. The steak was so good. I don’t remember everything. Oh, we arrived on time for an early dinner reservation Friday. No rush yet, but filled quickly. Attentive knowledgeable service - we asked for clean plates at least once - no problem. The servers tell you the name of the food when they put it on your table - such a good idea. Filled water glasses too. Our server had visited the Alhambra - so nice to share a rare experience with someone! I think the only thing that would make this experience better is a personal tong- tweezer tool to use so I don’t have to stick my fork into foods I’m sharing with other people. Especially olives. I look forward to eating here again!
Some of the best food we’ve ever had, everything was perfect. The Pisto Manchego (stewed veggies with an egg on top) and fried eggplant with honey were our favourites but everything we tried was delicious. The sangria was also great and the service was friendly and quick. Update: one of our favourite restaurants anywhere!! Can’t go wrong with a single thing in the menu there
Fantastic tapas, wine and service! We had a variety of tapas including the patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo and about 6 more plates haha. All were delicious and unique! The service was great as well and our plates came out nicely spaced apart so we could enjoy out meal at a nice pace without a crowded table of dishes. We shared a bottle of the albariño which was tasty and tart! We will be back
This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. the food we had was really good, the portions were great, and I really enjoyed my margarita. I will admit that the pricing is a little high for the portion size, but we enjoyed the food enough so it wasn't a huge deal. The food came out quickly, as they were prepared, which was really nice. We ordered four things and they were placed perfectly. I will definitely go back if I am in the area. I came back here today (02/26/2022) and it was just as good as every other time. This place is consistently good. We got a few new dishes this time and they were all really good. Definitely worth the visit.
This place is AWESOME!!! Half of the venue only serves cold tapas and drinks while the other side is full service. They serve a variety of tapas but I recommend the potatoes, fried calamari and baby octopus. The sangria has the most natural taste a dm goes great with the meal. Churros were a great way to end the meal. Service is great!! We'll definitely be back.
I’ve been begging to go for ages, and we finally went here for the first time today. Needless to say, my expectations were sky-high. Well, to my great satisfaction, it was absolutely amazing. The restaurant is in a Spanish small plate style. All of the dishes are labeled in Spanish and most are detailed in English. Plan on ordering a few dishes per person. The moment we walked in we were greeted by a very hospitable host. Our server was astounding. He was attentive, patient, and extraordinary with his timing. The restaurant was about three-quarters filled, with a capacity of maybe 50. There’s a full service bar, we went with a Spanish wine for a full experience. The wine was good, the food was great. Speaking of which, we started with some tostadas, or fancy toasts, which were elegantly flavorful. After which, we put in our order for our main dishes. The server brought our dishes out one by one as they were prepared. This made sure everything was perfectly fresh. We went with the calamari, shrimp, mushrooms, and potatoes. All of which I would highly recommend, but especially the calamari. Top two calamari dishes I have ever had in my life. All of the food tasted fresh and lively. All-in-all it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, and the ambiance was simultaneously comfortable and intimate. I highly recommend La Feria.
Great tasting tapas which are appetizer dishes as I understand it. Reasonably priced? I’d say overpriced The churros were good, the chocolate dipping sauce tasted powdery?? If I could suggest an improvement to the churro is to make the crunch layer thinner making it softer overall with a crunchy thin shell. The flan was way too eggy. Needed some vanilla to offset the egg taste or something Friendly staff who are on top of their game. There is patio seating too.
We celebrated our friend's Birthday here last night. I will definitely return soon! The food was excellent. My favorite were the almond stuffed dates wrapped in crispy bacon. Amazing! I was pleasantly surprised by the rather extensive menu. They really offer something for everyone, even picky eaters like me. The atmosphere is very cozy and the service was great! They have a good wine list and actually pour you a nice glass, not the thimble full that you get at some restaurants. The prices are very reasonable too, which is much appreciated. The only thing that I would note is that I would not recommend it for large groups. It is a very small space so go enjoy with a few friends!
Excellent, spicy bloody Marys. Mushroom tapas were bland, but everything else I tried was delicious. Service was friendly but a tad forgetful, which was surprising the place was empty lol. But we did enjoy ourselves.
Based on the four dishes I tried, three of them were good (not great), and one was so-so. The food came out pretty slowly, despite it being fairly quiet for a Saturday night. Overall a decent place, but I probably won't go out of my way to go there again.
Made the mistake of booking a reservation for 2 people instead of 3, they were able to reorganize the tables to help us out! The cold tapas are definitely not worth it, so don’t waste your money, hot tapas are good but a bit overpriced for the amount of food on each, definitely recommend the steak, the potatoes and the chicken tapas.
One of my favorite Tapas places in the area. The tortilla, patatas bravas and flan are my favorites and are consistently flavorful and they always taste fresh.
La Feria is one of a kind restaurant in Detroit. It offer Spanish Tapas and Spanish theme drinks. Don't come here hungry though, because Tapas are not supposed to fill you up, otherwise you will have a pretty big tap. You can try a variety of tapas and every one of them pack with flavors. Nimble on a piece of fresh grill octopus, pair with a sip of sangria and you will have a good time. Except for the potatoes, it is just like the garlic hashbrown I make at home, but cost is triple
Very good food. This is a small restaurant, so I can imagine it gets very busy during peak hours. We went in the middle of the week for a late lunch, so we were practically the only people there. They have a varierty of gluten free options including Almond cake for dessert. We will be back.
Honestly, what I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere. It was relaxed, yet welcoming, with a small hint of romantic. We were quite fortunate that we were able to sit by the open windows as there was a wonderful breeze as we enjoyed the many different kinds of tapas. If you go there around 6 or 7,you'll get to experience two different atmospheres as they dim the lights inside and turn on these nicely placed lightbulbs that are outside. The food was quite good. There was a good variety and it was well flavored and seasoned. I was content to have been able to try something as strange as watermelon soup though the taste was not as exotic as the name implies it to be. The one thing I was not super thrilled about was the service. Don't get me wrong, the people that served us were great!... When they came around. It took a bit more time than expected to get attended and a few times we had to catch their attention because they hadn't stopped by the table in a while. Overall a nice place for some good tapas. Highly recommended for a relaxing date.
I feel bad not giving them 3 stars because the food was 10/10 but you really need to hire more personable servers. He took the experience from a 10/10 to a 1/10 with his behavior. Me and my friend felt super weird and uncomfortable. Even though the food was amazing I don’t think I will return.
The waiter was sooo vague and rude honestly. I am super pissed that they add a 20% gratuity charge. What happens if I am not satisfied with the service? This isn’t a high end restaurant with great servers for them to already include gratuity or if you will do that then ensure that the service is 10/10. Like I said the waiter was rude and didn’t even smile once. He also went back to the bartender and talked about how I mistakenly mixed a red wine name with a white wine. I hope you guys had a good laugh considering the gratuity is included. If it wasn’t you’d get $2 from me. I have been here so many times and this is the first time I was super unsatisfied. The food has been and always will be great. It pains me to give them 3 stars but the waiter was just ridiculously bad at his job. Kinda felt bullied here.
Had at least 10 different items between 4 people, with drinks. All were very good, some EXCELLENT, others just not our taste. Our server "G" was the problem. Seemed irritated and very short when we asked questions about the menu. We ordered an additional item even after we ordered dessert and that sent him over the edge. We were very uncomfortable and will not return for that reason. It's alot of menu with non typical items. A server should be prepared to answer questions happily. Don't care if he was having a bad day. Automatically added 20% gratuity for 5% of personality. We got ripped off in that department.
It’s been 5 years since I last been here , so excited to be back here , service is very accommodating and friendly , parking can be tricky but expected , food doesn’t seem to have that authenticity like I remembered , the food was just ok , not as enjoyable as the past , it felt very boring and flavorless , I had the lamb( dry ) squid / no flavor , calamari and cod ( tasted boxed or pre made ) the pear salad was the only enjoyable thing that had some flavor to it , I would recommend changing the greens in the salad , not just spinach bowl :)I wish i could’ve loved it like I remembered
Very bad experience, the only Spanish thing they have is Iberian ham, bread with tomato, Galician octopus, the olives are taken out of the pot, and the price is very expensive for these tapas, I am from Cartagena, Spain and I do not recommend this place. In addition to the excitement about the food, the price is too high. In NJ there is a real Spanish restaurant, which is top quality and the price is very good.
The food was truly great, but unfortunately, the service didn’t match. Luis took over 20 minutes just to bring a drink, and our table felt ignored for most of the visit. With food this good, I expected a more attentive experience. Hopefully the service improves.
I wanted to love it, truly, but the tortilla was a salt bomb and the patatas bravas were lukewarm, had no flavor, and a very strange texture - not crispy at all, the outside almost felt leathery. Plus, the pan con tomate was mushy and did not have hardly any tomato at all. These are three classic spanish dishes that are not difficult to make, and I would expect any spanish restaurant to be able to get them right. Overall, it was a disappointment.
