I had been here once before so when my sisters rehearsal dinner was here I felt right at home. There was an array of great non alcoholic beverages so something was for everyone in attendance. The food that was cooked on site was delicious including Tri Top and wholesome vegetables. Staff was attentive and warm. Shout out to my boy wearing a Drain hoodie, hope to see you at the show next month!
Met a friend here for end-of-day beers and really enjoyed both the atmosphere and the beer. There’s plenty of open seating, a stage for live music, cornhole, and an outdoor fire pit that makes it a great place to hang out. We started with a flight and sampled a wide range of styles: stout, lagers, ales, sours, and IPAs, then switched to pints once we found our favorites. Didn’t try the food this time, but it’s definitely on the list for our next visit.
We hosted my daughter’s third birthday here and had an amazing time. It’s expansive, with lots of room for the kids to run and not too much trouble to get into. Leah, an event coordinator, was so lovely and accommodating. There were lots of fun drinks to choose from for those that weren’t drinking the delicious beer and cider. Something for everyone! The music, live or otherwise, is always hitting well. They have catering boards to choose from for larger groups. Can’t wait to go there again! My daughter loves it.
Vista Brewing – Review Vista Brewing offers a vibrant craft beer experience with a solid lineup of house-brewed ales and lagers. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, perfect for casual hangouts. The brewery often pairs its beers with tasty pub-style food like pretzels, burgers, and flatbreads. Great for beer enthusiasts looking to try fresh, local brews in a friendly setting.
Vista Brewing has quickly become one of our absolute favorite breweries in the Hill Country — and for good reason! Every visit has been incredible, from the food and service to the beautiful setting that somehow feels both laid-back and elevated at the same time. The property is massive, with indoor and outdoor seating that gives you all the elevated Hill Country vibes. You can walk around and see their chicken coop and bee hives, which they actually use for ingredients in their food and beer (how cool is that?!). Everything here ties back to their focus on regenerative farming and sustainability, and it truly shows in every bite and sip. Even the meat they use is raised up the street from them and has fed off the grains from their beer! They serve up not just great beer — which has won awards — but also wine, cider and NA options, making it a great spot for everyone. It’s also super kid-friendly, with a kid scape area that keeps the little ones entertained while you enjoy a drink or meal. Speaking of meals… the food is next level! We’ve tried several dishes, and everything has been phenomenal. The fish and chips were some of the best we’ve had anywhere — perfectly flaky with a thick, crunchy batter. The Wagyu burger was out of this world — juicy, smoky, and cooked over a live fire. Everything down to the pickled veggies and sauces is made from scratch, and you can taste that attention to detail. They often have live music, daily specials, and friendly staff who always go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. Everyone we’ve encountered has been welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly proud to be part of such a thoughtful, local operation. Vista Brewing is the kind of place that perfectly balances craft, community, and cuisine — and it’s 100% worth the drive every single time!
A lovely brewery with a ton of open space, apiary, cows, organic garden, and tons of beautiful cedar trees with ample seating for everyone. They have a nice indoor space as well if it's too hot to sit outside. But the magic of this place is in the land❤️ Every beer we tried was fantastic. Highly recommend!
I’ve attended two events at Vista Brewing and they have both been wonderful! The Barrel Room is gorgeous with the rustic furnishes and wall-to-wall windows. The event coordinator made it super easy to host an event here. We loved that the adults could enjoy food/drinks inside while the kids ran around outside. Their food/drink selection is fantastic; we had such an awesome time! We will definitely be back!
We brought a group of around 20 Belgian Beer lovers from all over the USA for an amazing evening at Vista. Our tour guide was THE Kent Killough. He was fun, vibrant and extremely knowledgeable about his operations. We had an amazing tour, guided flight, and dinner under a shady oak tree. All of the staff were amazing and the beers at Vista have upped the game for craft breweries in Texas.
WHAT A GEM. First impression? Way bigger than I expected. Second impression? My flight of beer was beyond delicious and the food paired with it was absolutely yum. (Beers: Barton Creek Gold, Dark Skies Black Pilsner (TO DIE FOR), Middle Trinity, and Lorenzo), Food: Cheese plate. Third impression? If you aren’t here on a lazy Saturday, Sunday, or even a weekday... what are you even doing with your life? After enjoying our drinks at the picnic tables under the old trees, we wandered the grounds. There’s a huge playground, a spacious beer garden, an intriguing apiary with info on bees, and an impressive farm where they grow produce for the kitchen. Yes... their produce, straight from the garden to your plate. Amazing. We took our time, soaking it all in—no rush, no agenda, just good vibes. Absolutely worth the drive. Towards the end, we got a special treat... we met the owners! Kent lit up when talking about the beer, how it's made, and why it’s special. On his recommendation, we tried a wine barrel-aged Stonewall with just a hint of peach. Mind. Blown. (Seriously, we grabbed some to go.) Karen, meanwhile, seems to handle just about everything else—including the bees. All in, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole experience was just... easy. In the best way.
A great place to get out into the Texas Hill Country and visit a great microbrewery operation cut into the oak trees and foothills with a minimalist design in mind being fresh air and country non-paved parking. The beer lineup (featuring award 🥇 winners) is more unique styles that are exclusive products available at the brewery and select locations (cans/bottles found at Central Market etc) and locally on tap from Austin-Kyle-Buda-Wimberley-San Marcos-San Antonio. The food available is great on location burgers, tacos, and various brunch/and or seasonal dishes plus some events like the Prickly Pear Hog roast on Memorial Day 2024. The Wagyu beef tacos are a great treat here! Lots of options for sitting outdoors and enjoying events, music, and just yourself. Be sure and visit when you are traveling through Texas or locally looking for a great outing.
This is a nice brewery and the interior is beautiful and has a relaxing vibe. I visited for the Barks for Beers and had the Barton Creek Gold - Blonde Ale. The beer was nice. There are plenty of shaded outdoor tables and benches if you come with your dog. The food menu looked great. Next time I visit i need to try the food. 🍺
Very impressed by every aspect of Vista! The grounds are gorgeous and their beers are technically perfect and delicious! We got several taster flights so we could try every beer they had on tap and didn’t find a single beer we didn’t like! Also really appreciated their farm forward menu and focus on sustainability and local ingredients. Our dog loved it too!
Gorgeous location in the Hill country with a very stylish and modern tap room. The staff was very friendly. The outdoor seating area was beautiful, amongst lovely oak trees. I can't speak for the beer, because I am mostly eating gluten-free (and I was about to drive home, so I didn't even inquire to see if they had any GF options), but my husband had the black pilsner and he really enjoyed it. This was ourfirst visit (we came b/c of Barks for Beers). We will definitely be back with friends and out of town guests!
This is a great brewery with a nice selection of beer, cider, wine and food. There is a ton of room for social distancing with the chairs and picnic tables outside. Definitely a great place to bring dogs. The contactless menu & ordering is great. I love that they have an apiary as well. A cool brewery to check out for sure.
A cute brewery nestled deep into Driftwood with lots of tables and open space and even an apiary! Very busy for an Easter Sunday, which made for a long food wait. The burger was very tasty but small especially for $17 I expected more. And the fries were very salty. I would definitely love to come back when it’s not as hectic. The cellular reception on the property was also very poor and laggy, but maybe it’s a good thing to tap out and unwind 🤣
Vista Brewing has always been one of our favorite local spots. My husband and I have been coming since the early days — we even hosted our wedding party inside the brewing room back in 2018. We’ve spent so many great afternoons here with friends and family over the years, and it’s a place we’ve always loved recommending to others. That’s why it’s been a little disheartening to see the experience change recently. The property is still beautiful, the food is still good, and it’s such a great place for families — but the service and overall feel just aren’t what they used to be. Lately, they seem to run out of menu items often, which can be frustrating after waiting in line. A little more communication or another ordering station might help with that. We’ve also noticed that staff start cleaning up and signaling closing time before the posted 7 p.m. hour, which can make guests feel a bit rushed. If the goal is to wrap up by 7, maybe adjusting the listed hours could make things clearer. It also feels like the system for running food could use some fine-tuning — on a busy weekend, seating is unpredictable, especially with kids. Having to say exactly where you’ll sit when ordering doesn’t always work in that kind of setting. Mostly, I just miss the warmth and friendliness that used to define this place. We used to see the same familiar faces, and you could tell the staff loved being there. I really hope some of that original energy can come back, because Vista has always been such a special part of the Driftwood community.
Went to Vista Brewing for their goat brunch event. The good: the woman with the goats was so nice and the goats are really sweet. The venue itself is quite large as well which I like. The bad: the guy at the counter was rude as hell to me and other customers - yelling about the line and generally having an aggressive attitude. But maybe it was a long day for him. It's not the end of the world. What is unforgivable, however, is how shit the food was. I ordered an avocado toast that was two slices of untoasted store bought white bread (how is it an avacado toast if you don't toast the bread) with some unseasoned avocado and a single slice of tomato on top with some cheese. I asked for it without eggs, and was shocked to find how basic and cheap the rest of the dish actually was? Especially for the staggering price of 15 dollars. Will likely never go here again.
Not a good first experience at all. New Year’s party. I’m guessing they got caught off guard by the amount of people. They ran out of some food quickly. It took about 30 minutes to wait on line for a beer and wait on line another hour for food. That our food took another hour. Dark and cold by then… packed up our food to go.
Not sure if this was just a bad day for them but the food took at least an hour to receive. We watched at least 10 people get their food that ordered 15-20 minutes after us. Our order wasn’t that complex either, it was 2 burgers. When we received the food some of the chicken was undercooked and the burger we ordered was sub-par at best. It wasn’t a great experience. That being said, the beer was great and the atmosphere was equally as good. Great place for families and kids. If their service/food was better I would gladly recommend but after our experience I’m not sure we’ll be back.
