The food was nothing short of amazing. Flavors we all knew but somehow cooked in such a way that made us want to reorder every single dish infinitely! Especially the scallops! Now the dishes are served very fast and all together (or maybe we were just slow). Budget wise, while the dishes look cheap, just know the portions are small and it’s recommended to either 2/3 mains. (I’m tiny and had a starter, 2 and 1/2 mains and a dessert! The place has a dinner vibe which in my opinion makes this place the best of both worlds: great food with chill no bullshit 4 different set of cutlery vibe.
If you’re doing a treasure hunt in Dublin, looking for food, you will find an oasis here. The atmosphere is very cozy and intimate, having this place only few tables. The food is all delicious and comes with quite an interesting twist to it, you won’t be disappointed. You definitely need to book a spot because this place is in high demand.
All of the food was amazing! The atmosphere was great with good music from all the decades and genres. The presentation was on another level and each bite seemed to get better than the last with the black bean tamales being one of our groups favorites.
We accidentally stumbled on this restaurant, and it was such a lucky find. Its a Mexican fusion cuisine that has flavours that I have not experienced before. Truly delicious food and an amazing combination of flavours. The restaurant is quite pricy but worth it. The service is nice and friendly. I really wish they move to a more spacious place so the restaurant does not feel so cramped. All in all, I highly recommend this place.
Amy Austin in Dublin, Ireland, is a tiny spot that you could easily overlook if you blink. This cozy spot has an intimate and exclusive atmosphere with only about 15 seats, making it feel like a well-kept secret among the bustling city. Despite its small size, she is mighty. During our visit, we had the open octopus taco, torched scallops, and the halibut rib, each dish was tasty and creative. The halibut rib was a surprising highlight, tender and flavorful. It was a unique take on seafood that I had never had before. I'm thrilled we found this tiny culinary treasure.
We got luckily a seats without booking on friday night and it was packed. The service was smooth and fast and the waiters very acknowledgable! The food was stunning , from mushroom tartlettes,( comes by 2) the scallops with green apple reduction ( comes by 2), the so tender pig cheek ( only 1), the prawns in 5 spices (2 prawns), the Argentinian Steak ( 4 little slices) and the lemon and pistachios cheesecake… it is pricey thought 150€ for 2 peoples with an “Orange” carafe wine but you won’t get that quality food everywhere! Congratulations to the Cheffs!
This is a gem of a place for a special occasion. Delicious food with a depth of flavours and artfully presented. Casual feel with classy cuisine. Pricy but it is worth paying for this level of craft. Quirky location at the edge of a carpark makes for a unique experience, and people watching from the window is great fun
I would happily chirp about how great this place is. Staff made us feel at home One minor mistake (bringing the wrong dish to our table) was quickly fixed and comped with a free glass of wine and brownie (they fixed the issue so quickly it was unnecessary but it was lovely non the less) Eagerly hoping they rotate or change the menu so I can make the excuse to come again
This is a rare find! Exceptional food and the most unusual cocktails I have ever had…a must!
it was so good! currently sitting here and had to leave a review as I saved to my Ireland list. stumbled upon the spot as we were walking by on a Monday night. the manager is lovely and the food is amazing— we ordered the fish cake, scallops, butternut squash & pork belly. oh, and both of the desserts. once they took the plate from the scallops away my bf ordered a second without hesitation. great spot !! from toronto, with love
Amazing flavours, the seared scallops and cheesecake were our favourites. It's a lively cozy little place, we were sitting at the bar so got to see the action in the kitchen.
Had a delicious dinner at the kitchen counter. The blue matcha seabass was excellent, as were the 2 x vegetarian dishes. We had the Argentine Angus, which was excellent. Very good produce, well presented, excellent winelist (bottle and glass). Friendly staff. Moderate noise level, good for conversation. Intimate due to limited seating. Can only recommend.
Absolutely 10/10 experience. Food, service, atmosphere were all excellent. The star of the show for me was the halibut Also think it was very good value for money. As two people we got two starters, two fish dishes, two meat dishes and two drinks each with the bill around €165 and we left the restaurant feeling very full! Would recommend and will be back!
This is one of my favorite places in town. I’ve tried several of their different menus over time, and I always love coming back to see what’s new. I usually call ahead to check for availability since it’s a small space, and most of the seating is on stools around the counter and by the window. It’s perfect for a date or an intimate meet-up, so I definitely recommend booking in advance. The plates aren’t large, but they’re designed this way so you can try more — usually two or three dishes are plenty. The kitchen has a modern style, and their vegetarian options are exceptional; I’m not vegetarian, but I loved them. The host, Donovan, is always lovely and happy to offer recommendations for both food and wine pairings. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a carefully curated music selection. The staff is exceptional, making every visit enjoyable. The wines on tap come from Winelab, which is a great concept, though I feel there’s room to improve the wine list and the selection by the glass.
This Michelin Bib Gourmand spot is cute and quaint, with great service and really fun modern-based food. The wine menu is really cool, displayed on the wall in big yellow tiles. If it’s on the menu when you visit, a must get: - Irish Pork Chop with plums and a mustard and whiskey dressing - Jerk Marinade Camote with almond cream - Three Cheese Foam
A tiny place offers fancy tapas dishes with a bit Asian/fusion touch. Food was delicious, especially loved the scallops, the beef tartar and the lentils. The black butter is rather interesting too. Staff was very busy but attentive and friendly.
Lovely and creative dishes, although one definitely needs 2-3 courses per person as recommended, and had a light orange wine. The location, when walking up from outside (it’s essentially in a car park) made me a bit nervous but the atmosphere inside is excellent, so don’t let that scare you. A bit loud inside but overall an excellent experience.
High quality cozy! This might have just become my favorite spot in Dublin - the halibut was excellent and would recommend. The service was friendly and the limited seating created a charming, intimate ambiance.
Friendly staff, good wine list and beautiful retro decor. ‘High-table’ seating with very limited space, hence reservations required, but comfortable nonetheless. Love that the talented chefs are at work right behind the bar at which seating is available - certainly adds to the authentic experience and casual atmosphere. Highly recommend for a small group dinner or date!
Wonderfully crafted dishes and sublime cocktails, well balanced, on level with 1661. Hope ghly reccomend for small plates and drinks. Only slight let down was the smell of the car garage fumes.
Superb food in an unlikely, small, yet vibrant setting. Small sharing plates of top notch quality and seamless service by the fantastic team. Sitting at the pass or the windows is true theatre. Would highly recommend to adventurous foodies.
Creative dishes and cocktails. Good wine list. Would recommend 5 dishes to share for 2 people. Decent price. Professional service.
Amy Austin is an incredible experience. While small, it’s an open concept kitchen so you can see the very talented chefs at work. We sat right at the counter, which was fun to watch everyone at work. This is a small plates restaurant and they recommend 2-3 plates per person. We shared the bread and black garlic butter and potato cake, both phenomenal and packed with flavor (the crème fresche is very lime forward and just the right hit of tart that pairs perfectly with the spice of the potato). My husband got the beef tartare which he claimed was one of the best things he’s ever eaten. I then had the Fermented grains which had courgette, chickpeas, lentils, beans and a yogurt foam. It was so light and crisp, and was such an eclectic mix of textures. We finished with the summer passion (mango passion fruit and the lime/kefir cream all go so well together) and a cheese plate. The server kindly brought us out their other dessert because she wanted us to try it, the Dubai chocolate brownie, and it was decadent and absolutely stunning. As for cocktails, I had the Albariño Julep and it was exactly the refreshing drink I needed with my meal. Would highly recommend checking Amy Austin out if you’re in Dublin!
A real hidden gem in Dublin! The location is a bit tucked away, but that only adds to its cosy and stylish charm. The dishes are incredibly creative and full of flavour – you can really taste the passion and attention to detail. Service was friendly, attentive, and very professional. Highly recommended for anyone who loves trying something a bit different!
Walked in for lunch and ordered practically everything on the menu as they were tapas sized dishes. Marvellously executed on flavours and textures food-wise while the cocktails were just above average. Of the two servers, one was super attentive and helpful while the other was more rushed and indifferent. Overall a good meal.
Fantastic meal, service and atmosphere - would highly recommend! The scallop dish was a stand out 🤩🤩
Fantastic spot. Great friendly service, the drinks were top notch, and the food was stellar.
The Amy Austin experience is just unreal, starting with the staff who are extremely professional and friendly, explaining with detail the ingredients of every dish, the food was absolutely sensational, unlike any other we’ve had in Dublin to this day. The chefs and the floor staff seem to work in perfect harmony and that reflects on the overall service. Our new favourite spot in town hands down.
Go for the food, stay for the cocktails. 1950s steampunk chic. Swingy stools and chrome counters. Off a big cement parkade. It works but it shouldn't. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are fantastic.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Top class food and top class service! I can’t wait to go back again! The unsung hero of the entire meal was the bread with black garlic butter. Everything else was melt-in-your-mouth-esque
Really amazing food. Best meal we've had in ages. Great service and atmosphere too but they could have sat us on the floor and we wouldn't have cared as the food was that good. One small thing to note was the pace of the meal was quite quick and felt a bit rushed. Suppose this is to be expected when the restaurant is so small. If/when we go back I will ask that the pace is slowed down a bit.
Truly sensational - the best meal we’ve had in months, perhaps since we were last in a Michelin-starred restaurant, which this absolutely should be. Alongside the incredible food, we had a perfect bottle of wine and cocktail, and the vibe is wonderful. Just utterly brilliant and not to be missed.
What a place!!! It’s a must-go and imo beats Uno Mas. Two of us got the window seat (one of the best windows in Dublin) and ordered 3/4 of what was on the menu. Lovely sized plates and really really good food and service. Got nice wine and the burnt blackberry cocktail which was 10/10. Came to €85 each which was great value considering we got so much. Photos do not do it justice but it’s a must go to!!!
The food was second only to the unbeatable service. Rachel is an angel and an asset to Amy Austin. Food was excellent. They change their menu but if you’re going soon I highly recommend the tuna and pavlova! I’ve already booked to go back and have been telling everyone I like to go.
We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Amy Austin! The food was delicious — beautifully crafted, bold in flavour, and clearly made with care. The small-plate style was perfect for sharing and trying lots of different things. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly throughout. We sat at the bar counter watching the chefs in action, which was such a cool experience and added to the whole vibe of the place. It’s an intimate spot with limited seating, so it feels special and lively at the same time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and a memorable evening out in Dublin! 🍷🍽️
Had a bunch. Oysters. All the fish. Chinese pork. Short rib. Food was all good. I'd say the Chinese pork fell a bit short. Really enjoyed the tortilla w ribs and shrimp tostadas. Venue is a bit cramped and the acoustics are quite unpleasant when it gets crowded. Overall, would still recommend.
Great quality ingredients and inventive food and menu. Some dishes amazing some really didn’t suit our palate and felt unbalanced. Great cocktails and wine!
Something went wrong with our reservation — they couldn’t find it in their system. Still, we were kindly seated at a window table. The place is very small but interesting. It was quite noisy, as the tables are set close together and the music was loud. We started with a lime and basil cocktail with wine, followed by trout, calamari, and potatoes. The cocktail was very interesting, though it felt like it had little alcohol. The trout was served in batter, which wasn’t very tasty. The calamari, however, was excellent — soft, very tender, served on a bed of potatoes. We finished with a passion fruit dessert, which was also interesting.
A lovely experience in Dublin. The restaurant is tucked away next to the entrance of a carpark so it can be quite easy to miss. The dining space is small and intimate. Service was lovely.
Tasty, innovative and beautifully presented food. Service was welcoming and facilitated discussion on wine selection. Cocktails were high quality, though mixing the favourites. Wine selection by the glass was fine, but would have paid more for a higher quality option - it leaned on the acidic side. Overall fantastic experience though, would 100% recommend to others and will return. The people watching out the big window is nice.
Nice Mexican fusion food. The place is a little bit small, so make sure to do an annotation when doing the booking, to not be seated in the high chairs looking at the wall. They have reasonable quality of wine by the tap. Most of the food is good except for the mole and the beef cheek which was tough. Btw, when we told the chef that the meet of the beef was tough he replied with irony asking if we were chefs. His attitude made us not wanting to come back again. A pitty because the rest of the staff was really nice.
Absolutely delicious food, beautiful fit out and really lovely staff. My only feedback is that the pacing of the food was a bit off, we had everything served to us so quickly that it felt super rushed for fine dining! Needed more space to savor the incredible flavours
Some of the most enjoyable people watching while eating nice food and drinking good wine that we have done for years. Great location, the window seats are a must and well priced. 1 off the 5 dishes we shared was excellent, 3 were nice and one wasn't great but was more a preference thing (shouldn't have ordered it!). The serving staff were excellent. A good spot for many different occasions.
This is a bit of a tricky review to write because the people here are genuinely awesome—super kind and incredibly attentive. The food is definitely good, and there’s no doubt that a lot of care goes into what they do. That said, the space is very cramped. If you’re seated against the wall, it can be hard to get comfortable, which affects the overall experience. One thing that really stood out was how fast the food came out—almost too fast. While efficiency is usually a plus, in this case it felt like the dining experience was a bit rushed. There wasn’t much time to settle in or savor the moment. The dishes themselves were tasty, but they didn’t quite blow me away. For example, the beef was overcooked, which surprised me considering how quickly it arrived. It made me wonder if a little more time in the kitchen might have elevated the dish even more. I feel conflicted saying this, because the service was incredibly prompt and friendly—how do you criticize something that’s too efficient? But I want to be honest: while it’s absolutely worth a visit and I’m glad I went, a few small adjustments could really enhance the overall experience
Overall, a lovely dinner with six dishes in total four starters and two mains. Our favourites were the Smoked Hungarian Striploin and the 3 Cheese Foam, both full of flavour and really well executed. Atmosphere-wise, the space is very crowded and intimate. You bump into people coming in and out, and sitting at the end of the bar meant staff often brushed past us, but that’s probably the trade-off for a small spot. The noise level reflected the size of the room: lively and loud, but still JUST within a comfortable range. Unfortunately, the Angus Striploin main was tough and didn’t match the quality of the starters. Combined with the price point, it had a huge impact on the overall experience (as well as the noice and crowdedness), and ended the meal on a disappointing note.
Starters didn’t hit the spot steak tartar bland no kick or seasoning. Mains looked great and tasted fine. Staff seemed preoccupied. From sitting down To leaving 45minutes wouldn’t be rushing back.
I rarely write negative reviews, but this comes from a place of disappointment rather than hate. My friend and I were excited to try this restaurant, but we left feeling that the food was overpriced for what we got. The scallops were outstanding—one of the best bites I’ve had in Dublin—but the strip-loin steak was incredibly tough, comparable to Lidl quality, and shockingly priced at €23 for just four small pieces. The atmosphere was cool, but the kitchen smell lingered on my clothes for three days. The pacing felt rushed, with multiple dishes arriving at once, and we were completely done—from snacks to dessert—in just 40 minutes. The staff were impersonal, speeding through explanations with no engagement. To top it off, both my friend and I felt unwell for the next two days with stomach issues—this was the only place we had eaten together. We paid over €150 for two and left disappointed.
Amy Austin was our favourite restaurant, and this was our fourth time going. Since we were last there the whole kitchen staff has changed, the menu has increased in price, while decreasing in quality. Our bill for 4 dishes plus bread and butter, was €110 (and €4 for tap water!) The steak was small and cold albeit good quality meat, which was even more disappointing. The sea bass was smothered in sauce to compensate for its small size. Then the quail and hamachi were just simply average. Nice flavour, but tiny and expensive. I’m just disappointed they continue to push this “small dish” “5-6 plates” narrative while increasing price significantly and the overall food quality has dropped. Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
The place it’s very small. Regarding the food, I ordered the Argentinian Angus Striploin and it was really chewy and had nerves. For a really small and pricey dish (28€) the quality wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t go back. Also, we were charged for tap water and it actually had tap water flavour… I recommend getting a water filter.
We chose to eat here on Friday night having noticed it on the Michelin Guide. The venue from outside had peaked my interest due to the unique setting of the restaurant. We were the second table seated and first impressions were that the restaurant was beautiful. We were a party of 4 but initially it was just two of us. Others joined 10 mins after. Got a carafe of house red which was very nice and good value! Unfortunately, this is where things ceased being enjoyable and the rest of the experience was underwhelming and disappointing. We ordered our food at 5:30. One course (of 7) came after 10 minutes and then we waited for one hour. During this time, no server checked in or updated us on this very long wait for food. Drink was ordered once throughout this to pass the time but required us to flag down the server despite sitting with near-empty glasses for some time. At 6:30, I asked the waitress what the update was and was told they were coming shortly but no apology or recognition of wait time. Food was coming at a much quicker rate to other tables, including tables of same size who came after us and left before any of main our food arrived. When the food did arrive, the taste profiles of the dishes were mostly lovely. While we expected small portions, a quarter head of cabbage with an aioili and pomegranate seeds for €16 seemed out of touch and bad value. I enjoyed most dishes but portion size was skimpy even in this context. However another disappointment was in the singualr time a waiter asked "how was the dish?" it was on the one course I did not enjoy and when told that I was not enjoying it, they responded "right" and did not probe or help further. When I requested the bill, it was brought without any apology or recognition of the very slow service and we were not asked how the meal or service was as a whole. When we then left, we were ignored. No goodnight or 'thank you for coming'. A night of promise that fell flat mostly through bad service.
