Had a solo dinner here while on a business trip. The hostess seated me immediately, no wait (Tuesday), but the restaurant was far from empty. The waitress arrived quickly, and was able to answer questions about the menu and specials. Got the salad special and smoked brisket, and both were great.
If you’re a foodie and love flavor, this is your restaurant. I enjoyed grilled chicken covered with melted blue cheese, pepperoncini slaw, Buffalo mayonnaise, on a bun. It was absolutely delicious! The potato chips on the side were equally tasty, and seemed house made My wife had the shrimp and grits, which contained mushroom cream gravy, bacon, and tomato jam. There was plenty of shrimp and the portion was more than sufficient. For dessert, we had a warm brownie and vanilla ice cream, both covered in a delicious caramel sauce. The parking lot and restaurant were both full, but we were seated very quickly. Our server was pleasant and engaged, and the food came out fast. With a generous tip (which we always recommend if earned) our bill was just under $57. We highly recommend you visit Page Road Grill.
Great food! The flavors are amazing. Quality ingredients. Nice atmosphere. I had the brisket, which was tender and flavorful. It’s not a smoked brisket, but looks like it’s baked or broiled. Either way, it was flavorful and tender. The veggies were amazing. So often the veggies on the side just don’t do much for me. But the flavor of the veggies complemented the meat so well. The recipes coming out of this kitchen are amazing. Nice beer list with local brews on the menu. Service was good. We will be coming back here again.
Was in town with my mom, decided to try this spot out since it was nearby. Very delicious! All the weird named sauces were surprisingly yum. Chips come with majority of the lunch meals. I do wish the cut fries weren’t an up-charge and rather be an alternative. The restaurant was clean and a vibe overall. Would’ve loved to dine in outside if the weather was nicer.
Perfectly prepared delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. The flavors were bold and well-paired.
We had a great Valentine’s Day dinner at Page Road Grill last night! Not only was our server excellent and attentive, but the food was amazing! Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and the steak!
While on a business trip to Durham, my colleagues and I ate dinner at the Page Road Grill. We started off at the bar, and they have a nice cocktail menu and a great selection of beer on tap. I had the French Greyhound. It has Tito's vodka with St. Germain grapefruit, lime, and bitters. I really enjoyed it. When we got to our table, we shared the Pan roasted Brussels sprouts, pimento cheese dip, and Buffalo chicken bites. They were all tasty. For dinner, I had the pork chop. It was bone-in, with sweet potatoes and collards with a blackberry honey-mustard sauce. It was so delicious. We shared a nice bottle of Pinot Noir that went very well with my pork chop. I really enjoyed eating at the Page Road Grill and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Well thought out menu. Food was very gourmet and one of a kind. Professional service. We ordered the Crab Dip for appetizer, it was delicious. (I would prefer no breadcrumbs). Green Tomatoes and Roasted Pork soup was very hearty, filled with pork. It had a very good flavor but slightly salty for my taste. The green tomatoes were puréed. For dinner, I has Tuna Carpaccio. Lightly seared tuna served with sliced avocado, diced watermelon, sliced cucumber, and topped with sesame ginger vinaigrette dressing. It was light and healthy. I really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the Smoked Brisket. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Tender and flavorful.
LOVED the food! Went here for lunch. We were seated quickly but the service was quite slow and our waitress forgot about us multiple times. I hate to ding a place based on one employee not managing her table well, so I kept the 5 stars since we loved the food. I had a burger (with sweet potato fries that were amazing!) and my wife had the risotto. Would definitely come again!
Their good is amazing, service is top notch, and menu choices are diverse and interesting. I got the smoked brisket and the banana pudding. 🤌🏾
Despite showing up after a flight at the world's most awkward time, the service and food were both impeccable. Scallops were perfectly tender, and the flavors of the rice and cream complimented them wonderfully. Banana bread pudding for dessert, with strawberry ice cream - unexpected but wonderful flavor combo!
Got a medium cooked beef burger 🍔 with pimento cheese 🧀 and sweet potato fries! Great taste! Lots of comfort food options. Recommend the crab cakes, the burger, and the smoked brisket. Good knowledgeable courteous server recommended the popular dishes 👌. If you were to reserve and book a room, they have small party room in the corner as well. Definitely would visit again and do recommend the place!
Great place to eat. Nice setting. Excellent service. Sometimes you get a meal and can tell there are genuine chefs that know how to layer flavors and give you a great experience visually as well. I had the scallops and they had a citrusy sweet punch, then layers of savory flavors with just the right heat. Dulce de Leche cheesecake to finish it. Terrific.
Pleasantly surprised. We were looking for something on the way home to Wilmington, not fast food. Their lunch menu is like other places dinner menu.
There was a line outside prior to opening, which proved to be a sign of a great place. The barstaff were helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and came out fast. There's a nice selection of beers on tap as well.
Great place with an upscale feel. We were a party of 9 and they seated us almost immediately. The appetizers were delicious. I had the trout and my wife had the brisket. Definitely going back
I feel like the doors of heaven opened up and the Lord himself greeted me with open arms when I took my first bite of this salad! I was out and about looking for a healthy lunch option and decided to go with the kale salad (plus salmon), which I was informed is a new menu item. It was an amazing choice and I've have even gone back to order it again because it was so tasty. If you like salads, please try this one. You won't be disappointed!
Page road is a great place for lunch or dinner. I've never had anything here that wasn't good. Always great service. Full bar, draft on tap, wine, and bottles.
...Picked this spot for a small gathering. It was perfect. Not crowded, good service, good food and drinks. We stayed a bit over and they were cool with that. Really enjoyed it..
Beautiful and warm ambiance. The bartender was wonderful, very pleasant and accommodating... at almost 4pm, she let us order from the lunch menu. We devoured the yummiest burgers! The patties were juicy, fresh and full of flavor. Then, the avocado, egg and cheese addition just made it awesome. French Greyhound & Olde Hickory Piedmont Pilsner were perfect starters. I will totally come back!!
First time at Page Road Grill and was really impressed by the service and the food. We were a group of 22 and we all received service that most higher end restaurants can only wish for. Thanks again.
Shamaine with Offline - First time visiting Page Road Grill. I feel like they should take off the grill. This was a fine dining with comfort experience. Ben was my waiter and he was great. I ordered the espresso martini bc I was feeling rom-comedy-ish. Appetizer was good, I chose the soup special which was chipotle pumpkin. My dinner order was the blackened catfish. The protein wasn’t my favorite but everything else was a perfect combination. Dessert was a tiramisu and we love those. ;). Enjoy
From the outside, it looks cold and industrial, but the inside is warm and inviting. The hostess said “sorry for the wait”. The “wait” was 15 seconds! A tell tail sign of the hospitality to come. Brick walls, warm light, and a layout that feels like a converted warehouse that decided to grow a conscience. The air suggests steak before you see it, which is always a good sign. Places that rush introductions usually have something to hide. The grill work shows discipline. Those crosshatch marks are not decoration; they are a statement of intent. The steak arrives confident, properly rested, and clearly aware it will be judged. The sauce on the side behaves like a cooperative witness; helpful, not overpowering, ready when called. Vegetables are not an afterthought here; they show up like supporting characters who know their cues. The steak comes from the kitchen quickly! And Claudia delivers it with a smile. Dessert understands timing. The pie is warm, the ice cream knows it is on borrowed time, and the powdered sugar falls like fresh snow on a solved case. It is indulgent without being reckless, which is harder than it sounds. Detective tips: • Come hungry; the portions assume you skipped lunch on purpose. • Ask about the grill cuts; the kitchen likes informed questions. • Sit in a booth if you plan to stay awhile; they encourage long thoughts. BEWARE OF... • Ignoring dessert; it will remember. • Ordering too fast; the menu rewards patience. • Thinking this is just another neighborhood grill. It is special.
We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Their salads are creative, fresh, and delicious. Tonight I had the seared scallops which were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a delicious rice with fresh corn and andouille sausage. We didn't have room for dessert tonight, but I enjoyed the blueberry crumble on a previous visit. The service is attentive and friendly.
This past week we had a party of 22 one evening and 10 the next evening. All but a couple of us were not from the area. First, the only reason I’m giving the atmosphere a 4 is because with the high ceilings, the conversation at the table can be a little difficult to hear. Second, the food was excellent and all agreed. I had the swordfish on the first night and the scallops on the second. Both evenings we had a variety of appetizers as well. Last but not least important was the service and it too was excellent both evenings. When in town again, we will definitely add to our dining options.
I live super close to this restaurant and have passed it many times. So glad I came. I’ll definitely be back!
Food and drinks were great and very friendly and fast service.
Great food the menu is $$-$$$ a $15 and above. Great wine selection and drafts. Food was amazing. Great place for a business lunch or date night, or meeting up with friends. Dress was semi casual to business , dressy friendly.
Exactly what you expect at a Chapel Hill Restaurant Group establishment! Everything was great, then manager came out asked about our meal. She was warm and friendly. Great dining experience
PRG is consistently delicious with great service no matter the size of your party. I've never had a bad experience there. It can get crowded and noisy but it's a great place for everything from drinks with friends or a business lunch/dinner.
Devon was the greatest server! He offered great suggestions, was timely, and ensured the experience was memorable and enjoyable. The food was prepared and presented with great skill and class. One of the best Old Fashions in Durham!
A modern American restaurant with a friendly atmosphere, specializing in high-quality grilled dishes, burgers, and salads. It's known for its dine-in service, outdoor seating, group/party catering, and takeout/catering options. American cuisine, focusing on fresh ingredients. Services: Dine-in, outdoor seating, and in-store pickup available. Atmosphere: Suitable for family meals, gatherings with friends, and large groups. good
Sweet potato fries are excellent. Decent food with nice ambience and plenty of parking. A good spot for a last minute dinner with friends as no reservations needed on a week night ☺️
Both of our entrées were great. We got burgers and I highly suggest that. What I do not suggest is the Buffalo chicken bites. They tasted like they were frozen for so long and they threw it in the fryer. It had a crispy outer layer, but inside was this weird chewy feeling you only get from older, long frozen, chicken. Again, the burgers were phenomenal, the bartender was polite. We actually thought he was the manager lol I do suggest going here.
I ordered the arugula salad without the cauliflower shavings on it. I didn't really quite know what to expect, but it was a great decision. The sweetness of the dressing and pears were a great combo with the sharpness of the cheese. The toasted almonds added a nice crunch for texture.
Burger and fries were really good! I wasn't a huge fan of the side that comes with the salmon but that might just be me. Brussel Sprouts are good if you already like Brussel sprouts if that makes sense. Also this place is fancier then I expected.
I really enjoyed my meal here. It was a perfect spot for a work lunch but know that you should make a reservation. The place fills up fast at lunch. The Buffalo chicken bites we had as an app were very good. My burger was great. Plenty of selection on the menu.
This was my first time here I have heard about this place was good but I got to try this for the first time today because of a work event. The food was amazing I had the blackened catfish with mashed yams and it was well seasoned. The string beans were even seasoned the brownie cake was also really good overall great place for a good food but the prices were steep so outside of a work event I don't know if I would go here often and the cocktail options to me honestly were not good that's my reason for the 4 stars but the service was amazing the food was delicious.
I'm not sure if the enticing aromas smelled from the outside was coming from here or LuLu BangBang across the parking lot, but the food here was delicious! It's not an extensive food menu, but who needs too many choices? Comfortable seating and not too noisy for such a large, open area. Nice food portions for the very hungry or smaller appetites.
I have no idea why this place isn’t packed with people! A legitimate great food restaurant with a flair. Someone need to do better advertising or something There’s no reason why there should be an empty seat here Honest prices with honestly great food Someone bring a bus a pack this place What a shame
Not a bad spot for doing a group lunch or dinner. The crab dip and the pimento cheese were good appetizers. I got the brisket as the main dish and it was mediocre at best because it was just a big chunk of meat instead of cut into slices and it was fairly dry. Also was very disappointed with the espresso martini they served!
This is a pretty good no frills restaurant in the Tri Center area. Very good for a lunch meeting or a work team lunch and conveniently located in the heart of the Durham/Raleigh Tri Center area. Seating is pretty ample, and they have different areas for your mode of lunch: - private biz lunch - social lunch - date lunch - etc. I usually get the Mediterranean salad here with crab cake as the protein. DELISH! Beware of the olives tho as they're super salty (as i think they're supposed to be). TIP: ask for extra lettuce if you're looking for a bigger portion for lunch. the lettuce in this salad tends to get lost amidst the olives, onions, croutons, etc.
I am providing a 3-star rating for the restaurant due to poor service. The food was delicious and well-prepared, but our server's behavior was unprofessional and discriminatory. Her prejudiced attitude created an unpleasant dining experience for myself and my colleague. It is unacceptable for a server to treat customers differently based on their race or any other personal characteristic. I hope that management will address this issue to ensure a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers. As a frequent business traveler to North Carolina, this was the worst service I have encountered in several years.
Ready to Eat Frozen dinners for “locallly sourced” “southern modern” dining prices. Maybe you’ll get fresh in person sometimes, but food ready in 15minutes is going to be mediocre food- and even then there’s just something off about the flavors. Unfortunately the sad pricing for food quality & limited menu, and indigestion from multiple people I’ve taken here makes it a generous 2 star, or I would have ranked it a 3 for the weird seasoning and food pairings. While I can see some unique pallets really enjoying the unique pairings, like strawberry ice cream with banana bread pudding to bland rice pirloo with somehow sweet notes instead of spice with spicy sausage, the theme with most of their “southern/soul”is daring pairings that lack the commitment or are restricted to a corporate menu trying to make every dish appeal to every pallet. The result makes it just…weird overall. I would say most people would tuck in for the steep price they committed to- not the best not the worse-but then never come again over the other quality options nearby. I have gotten take out and dine in from here over the past months to give them some chances- from lunch to dinner, to in person vs take out- definitely go in person at least if you want to give this place a decent chance like I regrettably chose to. The inside is what I would call southern modern- pretty on the nose- with the light shining through plants and deep wood around you- a nice experience so long as you don’t come in when it’s slow and staff decides to seat the only customers right by the kitchen entrance in a corner. What to avoid, What to Try: The brisket: tastes straight out of a frozen meal package- leathery and dry while its mashed sweet potatoes clashed with a mushy salty squash succotash with a rotten bitter flavor I wish I can forget ever trying a bite of. The seafood: is the only thing I’d order from here, the scallops, shrimp, and salmon- it’s just a hit or miss what you pair or the type of dish you get with those ingredient. The scallops: only gives you 4 of them which is sad since it’s only dish with them and they were great- but I’m not paying $30 for sausage added on for protein for a dish simply called “scallops.” It was the popular favorite from everything everyone tried, but even then the rice pirloo it came with was watery which made it absorb the pepper salty notes of the sausage, more of the mystery sweet flavor that seemed to be on every entree, which all clashed with the lemon emulsion and spinach they put in it- edible but I found myself chasing each bite with my drink to avoid the after taste of the flavors clashing. The blackened catfish: was cooked well but had a bitter peppery taste clashing with the remoulade (which was excellent). The shrimp and grits are not what you will often get in North Carolina as your standard- tomato jam is not easy to pull off. Deserts: The “brownie cake”isn’t really a brownie or a cake- more of a oddly textured chocolate fudge in a muffin shape. The banana bread pudding at first I thought was great but with each bite I realized what just bread with the hint of banana- I had eaten half way before my suspicion of our take out this time being fully premaid was pretty much confirmed by a slimy green section that once was banana slices. The ice cream- was excellent- chocolate that had a malty note which is a preference for some. For lunch, the burgers were pretty good and the only thing I ended up having worth the price I paid from here- that and the chicken salad wrap. It’s unfortunate that when we ordered, staff was visibly upset and continued to push the small plates on us which I understand but came off a bit too thick on top of visible disappointment as the lower priced items were chosen. Overall, this place seems to rely on business meals- it has the fancy buzzword menu to intrigue that type of client. Maybe worth a try as an individual if you see an item you really want to try- but if you already love that meal elsewhere- this place likely will not top it.
We've gone to Page Road Grill for dinner over the course of the last 8 years. The food and service was always good, not great, until this past week. First, the restaurant was virtually empty which should have been our first clue. We ordered salads to start which arrived in a timely manner but they were more salad dressing with some greens. My salad which was supposed to be arugula with feta cheese and other items, was kale and what appeared to be grated mozzarella. We had to send them back. The main courses were mediocre: salmon and crab cakes. The service was the evening's only redeeming feature.
Unfortunately, the Veggie patty was dry and hard. It seemed frozen that was thawed in the microwave. None of the entrees we received were seasoned. Food seemed over priced for the quality received. Will not be returning.
The food sounded really good but we left before ordering. After waiting 15 minutes anxiously ready to order drinks and appetizers, we left because there was no staff anywhere to be seen to take our order. Restaurant was at about 50% capacity at 8:00 on a Friday night.
My friend is vegetarian for religious reasons, so she ordered the veggie burger. It came out with bacon, but she never asked for bacon. The server was nice about it when she asked to remake it. When it came back out, she noticed that the buns had a skewer hole in the same spot. It was the same burger with the bacon taken out. This place has no consideration for dietary restrictions. The food and atmosphere wasn't that great either.
There are some real quality concerns here. I felt a bit sick after the meal. They were very busy, and the service showed it staff kept forgetting items and didn’t have time to pay attention to customers. The food wasn’t very flavorful either. I could deal with average food, but not when it leaves me feeling unwell. Overall, disappointing experience
One of the worst restaurants I have been to, place is overpriced for the food quality. I got a grilled steak and my girlfriend got the burger. The food was absolutely bland and super disappointing. I do not recommend for anyone looking for something to eat. Service was nice though I definitely felt welcomed.
