A very fun time! Our server Clara was very kind, and the whole staff team was very quick with their work. The atmosphere was fun, loud, traditional Scottish pub vibes, although still had a nice fancy feel to it. Food was amazing, service was incredible, all very enjoyable.

A must visit in the city of Edinburgh. Location is perfectly positioned with a pub and restaurant. Beautifully decorated with a good ambience and energy level. Service was on point and we were served by a lovely waitress who was extremely polite and friendly. Food was fresh, good portion sizes and extremely flavourful. Kudos to the chef 👌 Highly recommend a visit when in Scotland. 💯

We made a reservation just so we could enjoy the Sunday roast dinner. What a fantastic meal. This is the 3rd time we have eaten here. Ryan our server was very helpful & accommodating, top service from him. We were there on Dec. 28th but while packed, the service and food quality never faltered. A great place for an Old Fashioned cocktail.

A stand out bar on Rose Street. Fun menu for the Rugby 6 Nations - 'Mon Scotland! Great staff, lots of screens. A really nice, welcoming bar with good food.

Loved everything, from the servers, to the atmosphere and the food! It was my first night in Edinburgh and just happened to walk by and decide to go in to see if I could get a table. I hope I get a chance to go back!

Tasty food, cozy vibes, lovely service. Loved my pretzel with beer and cheese sauce. The pretzel was garlicky which I enjoyed. The croque monsieur was delicious and hit the spot after a long day of travel.

Popped in for a bowl of soup. Love the cosy, comfortable dining room. Food is delicious. Butternut squash soup was thick, so full of flavour and looked attractive too. Loved the addition of apple slices, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Never had that before! Naomi was very welcoming and, when I asked for fresh mint tea, which isn't on the menu, she went out of her way, literally, across the street, to find mint for me! Amazing service 🤗🤩

Fantastic pub/restaurant right in the city centre of Edinburgh. The atmosphere is great, we went on a weekend and they had live music. The bar staff were very friendly and accommodating, I don’t drink alcohol and they still had many options for me. The food was great both in quality/ preparation and service was excellent.

Good British food in a great atmosphere at reasonable prices: when the restaurant is full, you can also dine at the cozy windows at the front. The food was excellent and the service was good. We especially enjoyed the Balmore chicken, the Brie in Yorkshire pudding and the beef pie.

Great Fish and Chips! Local Brew on tap, friendly waiters and cozy atmosphere with great music. Wasn’t able to stay for the live music this time, but may come back to do so!

Had lunch there yesterday for 3 and it was very good. Friendly attentive staff and good portion sized great food.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. We were spontaneously looking for a late lunch spot on Saturday and all of the pubs were full. We walked into Element and managed to grab the last table! Highly reccomend the fish and chips and meat pie, both were delicious.

Great wee pub restaurant in central Edinburgh. Both food and service is outstanding. The atmosphere was good and this place is family friendly too with card games and board games.

What a fab find. We were in Edinburgh for the day, with our Dalmatian, Dunley. Dropped in here by chance, so glad we did. Food was great, but what makes it is the staff, friendly, approachable and really just lovely. Steak pie was great, mash was awesome. Staff made a fuss of Dunley, and we felt really welcome. If we visit Edinburgh again, we'll definitely drop in for lunch again.

Had a very nice time when I visited element with a friend. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. Will be going there again.

We went for dinner and ordered 4 starters for 2. It was an amazing quality and quantity. The soups were amazing and the other dishes also didn’t disappoint, definitely want to come back here when visiting Edinburgh again!

Didn’t eat but the little restaurant looks so cosy and inviting. Me and my partner tried out the new cocktail menu and were very impressed. The staff were attentive and lovely to talk to, despite being busy. Would be back and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Element and their staff are gems of Edinburgh. Amazing people and even better food. Haggis Bon bons are a must. Fish and chips are a classic and the Chicken Cesar salad delightful for a light but nutritious dinner. Cocktails were served promptly and dessert was the best way to end the meal (cherry trifle with chocolate cake). Can not recommend enough.

First things first! Total need to book in advance. People being turned away from 7.30 when we arrived to 9pm when we left. Also... Not at all tranquil on a Friday night! Not only did we have to push ourselves in through the door to start our journey through the crowds to the restaurant, but then a guitarist started up at the front of the bar who could clearly be heard at the back of the restaurant. Then there's the other guests which included a party of 8 who were very noisy. Next..... Wonderful food and wonderful service! We had to wait for our pre booked table in the bar and the barman served my wife first. Excellent! We are of a certain age and he treated her like royalty. He made a cocktail with theater. Thank you! Then through to the restaurant section. Service impeccable. The menu is simple, and limited, but so well done. Haggis lollypops and scotch egg followed by fish and chips and Balmoral chicken. A 10% service charge automatically added so we didn't tip. Total for 2 was under £60. Strongly recommended.

Stopped in here today with my two kids, which isn't something we do regularly. Met by a very polite barman and once we took our seats even though we sat in the bar recieved table service. The lass that served us made a huge fuss over the kids who loved it. Genuinely nice girl . Then to top it off the food was beautiful, couldn't even finish it, was starving when I went in and could hardly stand up when I left. Great food, Great service.

Visited Element today for the first time. We found all of the staff to be very friendly, helpful and calm under pressure to take the orders of our large group. We all found our food to be very delicious, the portion size was very good and fairly priced. My wife will recommend the mushroom soup and the truffle fries. I will recommend the Sunday lunch. Thank you Element for the excellent service today. We would love to visit again.

Element is an excellent place to stop for refreshments. The food is great, and the staff and service are excellent.

Here was My first meal in Edinburgh, it left a very good first impression and a good start. The food was nice with perfect portion. We ordered Scotch egg, steak and ale pie, Bouillabaisse, balmoral chicken for 3 pax to share. The scotch egg was perfectly soft-boiled, love it! There r range of choices of scotch from highland, lowland to Islay 🥃 we ended our dinner with ice cream :)

My experience was fantastic from start to finish. Clara, Harry and Ryan were all fantastic. Specifically Clara she was extremely accommodating for a large group of us. I felt anxious at wEdinburgh and Clara made us feel at ease and so comfortable. She was so friendly and recommend places to visit in the Christmas markets that she felt were appropriate for me and my family. Big shoutout to all the staff, but specifically Clara! Please make sure this feedback gets to her, she made our trip! :) xx

Ryan and the staff were wonderful! We did not book and they were busy but found us a table. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Element to dine at.

Absolutely fantastic. Food was the best we had in all of Scotland. Ryan & Niall were lovely. The music was excellent. Truly a wonderful dinner.

Had late lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday. The members of staff who looked after us Gavin and Ryan were excellent they couldn’t have done more to make it a special meal. Will certainly go back as food service and ambiance is perfect

Had a great lunch here. The service provided by Bonnie, Ryan and Amanda was very polite and friendly. The beef shin and steak pie were delicious - shout out to the kitchen team! Would highly recommend

5/5, Great food, Great Service (thanks Ryan) On my travels through Edinburgh I stopped at Element and wow, it did not disappoint. The haggis, a must have, the fish and chips, amazing and to top it off the service was perfect, Ryan was great, suggest what to get and treated us like family.

Excellent service by Clara who was attentive, cheerful and very pleasant throughout our evening there yesterday. Her recommendations of the sea bream and sticky toffee pudding were spot on. We also enjoyed the smoked salmon as starter and are sure that the food overall are great though we only had some dishes, as there were only 2 of us.

Very accommodating and easy booking process for Christmas drinks for our team night out. Element reserved an area right next to bar... perfect. Cozy pub with a great selection of drinks. The staff worked hard, quick and friendly service. Would recommend.

This is an excellent, though easy-to-miss, restaurant. It possibly gets passed by, by many people, because it's not obviously a restaurant. We actually tried to book a different restaurant but were referred to Element when that one was busy - which, as it turns out, we were extremely happy about. The service in Element is exceptional and the ambience was superb, as we had a table for 4, for just the 2 of us, tucked into a corner. The food was also superb; I had the Balmoral pie, steaming hot, with chicken and mushroom sauce and my girlfriend had the burger. It's also very reasonably priced; I actually asked the waiter at the end of the meal how they could do what they did for such a low price! This was one of the best meals we had on our break in Edinburgh and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who may be in danger of walking straight past it - you would be missing out!

We had the best evenig. The food was great and the service was even better! Ryan was lovely to chat with and Finlay fought for our sauces. Would absolutely recommend a visit while in Edinburgh!

Such a cozy location and friendly service! The food and drinks were delicious, and prices were more than fare for the great quality. Definitely a gem to add to your dinner list (especially the Pie).

Excellent service from all bar staff, including Ryan, Harry & Clara. Specifically Clara, she welcomed us as a large group from start to finish. Thank you for making our stay in Edinburgh so memorable Clara. Such an upbeat and happy member of staff! The restaurant was full when we arrived but the maître d’ made the effort to make room for us, the bartenders were helpful and friendly and very considerate of the allergies of a member of our group. The food was lovely, the steak pie was delicious! Highly recommend. It was a bit noisy but that’s to be expected. Highly recommend this restaurant

After a long day on the road, we stumbled in to Element. While we hadn't made a reservation, Ryan was able to squeeze us in to a comfy booth and we settled in for a lovely meal. Delicious beer flights and warm food was exactly what we needed. And 10/10 to Bonnie for excellent service and for just being to loveliest young woman. We'll have to come back on our next visit. And we'll make a reservation next time. Promise! :)

Excellent service as usual. Ryan our server was on his own running restaurant and coped amazing stopping to have chat with customers. Always a go to when visiting Edinburgh as food and service excellent. Well done Ryan👍

Can't comment on the food as I've only been in for drinks. There's always a great buzzing atmosphere in this pub and the staff are very good. Often there is live music which is always tasteful and just the right volume that you can still have a conversation. Not quite 5-stars as it is often very busy and can be difficult to get a seat, but definitely a solid choice for a pint in the centre of Edinburgh.

Fish and chips were huge, but a little overcooked. Very tasty otherwise. Amazing tartar sauce!

Really lovely pre-Christmas lunch catch up. Food was interesting and absolutely delicious. Cocktails very yummy. Loved the Christmas decorations, very cosy. Staff were excellent too, Clara and Ryan were attentive, professional and warm.

Food is great. Service was awful. If you were a big group it looked fine but myself and my partner were ignored. Sat with empty plates for 30 minutes had to get up and find someone so we could pay our bill.
