I've loved eating at Dos since I was a freshman at UC Davis in 1993, but the Elk Grove restaurant has become my go-to when I want takeout. I order as I'm leaving work and it's ready 10 minutes later when I arrive every time. Prices are good and they have a ton of very different things I love. I'll order based on my mood--ranchero burritos, green chili stew, shrimp burritos--I even order a couple of their salads, and I never order salads at restaurants!
Always friendly service. The food is delish- fresh ingredients and seasonal specials are fantastic. Right now the green chile stew is great. A different take on CA mexican food.

Our family eats at Dos Coyotes Border Cafe on a regular basis. The manager is very friendly and the employees are very kind. The facility is always clean and the service is quick. The bathrooms are always nice and clean. If you have never been to the restaurant before, I highly recommend it. It is a different atmosphere as you order your food at the register and they bring it to you. If you get a fountain drink, you can refill it as much as you want while you are eating. The salsa bar is top notch and every flavor is packed with quailty ingredients. I highly recommend this place!
I love this restaurant. Food is often ready in less than 10 minutes. I love the extensive selection of items including vegetarian options. My favorite dish is the howlin tostada vegetarian version. I also like the vegetable fajitas and southwest burrito or burrito bowl. Customer service is always excellent regardless of who's working. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My favorite Mexican joint in Elk Grove. The sizing buffalo chicken fajitas $15.95 are to die for. Seriously some of the best fajitas I have ever had. I hope they keep these as regular item. Always clean and a very friendly staff. Keep rocking it Dos Coyotes!!! Don’t hesitate coming here.
This place is always a 10/10. I’m not one to always tip 20% when I walk up to a counter and order but this place delivers exceptional customer service every single time. The food is always hot and fresh and so good. I absolutely love this place!
Dos Cyotes always never disappoints. I have been going gear for years now, ordering a variety of food items including limited a time items they only make at this location. Being the best Tex-Mex food in town, the flavors of the food resemble something more unique compared to classic Mexican restaurants. Although the rice may not be orange like Spanish rice it is still extremely delicious and unique that is made with corn and carrots, but trust me it is worth trying at least once. Dos Cyotes is great for dining by yourself or for a takeout meal to enjoy elsewhere. They have a salsa bar in-which every salsa and topping is prepared freshly everyday. My personal favorite salsa is the spicy pico de gallo. Chips are always served alongside your meals as well. In recent times I've ordered the market burrito(chicken breasts, rice, beans, salsa), side of black beans and rice, limited a time elote, side of taquitos, and the Ranchero burrito(southwest burrito with sauce on top). I recommend this place as a healthier pick for lunch or dinner, staff is always really friendly!!
My kids and I always share the Navajo Nachos plate with extra steak. It is amazingly yummy. Food always comes out piping hot and fast. Meat and other ingredients were always fresh and I never had any compaints. Additional review: Just found out you can get any burrito on their menu as a bowl. Really good!
Dos Cayotes burritos are always good and well made!!! The place was clean and has a nice ambiance. Staff was very friendly and patient. Love the selection of all you can have sauces!!!
Tried this place out again during a promo deal. Did a phone order so it was convenient during the lunch rush. Great service and atmosphere. Fast casual eatery with a big selection of mexi Cali style food, salads, bowls, burritos, tacos plates, quesadillas, kids menu and more. Awesome salsa bar! The chicken border burrito was pretty decent, wasn't as filled as what you typically get at a local Mexican restaurant but flavor of the chicken was good. You can definitely find something to suit your diet or any restrictions.
I haven't been here for years. I used to come here for lunch after soccer. I usually go to my usual spot when I wanted Mexican. But today was a Friday and my usual spot was busy too on a Friday the weekendyou know . I was craving for a burrito and thought to come here. I went with my family and we ordered the border burrito and enchiladas, both were good. It satisfied my craving. It also came with chips. They have a salsa bar in the restaurant. The food wasn't bad. The staff are nice. We would come again.

Great foods with lots of selection for everyone to pick from. I specially loved the adobe salad and their shrimp tacos. Also loved the atmosphere with indoor and outdoor sittings. Definitely recommend this please.
Tasty food in a casual atmosphere with Superfast service. Large portions and a delightful salsa bar. Prices are very reasonable as well. Be sure to try the chili lime roasted corn on the cob!
I gave you guys 3 stars because you guys are closed before 9pm! I wish you guys would stay open till 10pm, especially the weekends… Food is great though…
My friend and I love Mexican food. But every time we go to Dos Coyotes, we always say we are not going back. To salty. So I would always try something new. We both said to other last time. It's was the last time.
Not sure why but orders are not consistent. Last week I order the season special shrimp & asparagus quesadilla got it togo a nice long box long with lot of Slices at least 8 big & couple small ones. Today went there look what I got (picture). 4 slices 2 edges in lil plastic take out..for $15 bucks very disappointed 😞 . Can yall stay consistent
Quality of food has definitely gone down over the years. Wasn’t impressed with my $14 tres taco combo meal at all. First off, we were the only ones in line and the meal took 15 minutes to get to us. The chips that were served to us were cold and very stale and were hardly edible. The chicken tacos were bland and served on almost raw tortillas. The photo below is what the tacos looked like when served (very unappealing). Portion sizes for the lettuce and cheese were out of control. The whole plate was a mess. Didn’t even bother trying the rice. On the kitchen side NONE of the workers were wearing gloves, not even the cooks! Disgusting. No uniform, no hat/hairnet or beard net either. Sorry not coming back until this problem is fixed! I’d rather eat at Taco Bell.
The quality is constantly slipping. When I met my wife she introduced me to this place and I was pleasantly surprised. Since then the quality of food and accuracy of the order is constantly off. My Navajo nachos didn't come with sour cream or guacamole. The side of sour cream my wife ordered wasn't in the bag. She found something hard and unidentifiable in her food. Also, her enchiladas just looked like soggy tacos. Save your money and eat taco bell.
