Fish tacos were awesome! Finally sliced cabbage with avocado and a hint of cilantro with some lime on top they were amazing! Chips, salsa the guacamole was on point!

Great spot for lunch! Lissette, our waitress was awesome! She was friendly, polite and attentive! We had guacamole and nacho chips, fish tacos and a few margaritas. Everything was delicious! Looking forward to returning!

recently visited a fantastic restaurant located right in front of the colorful houses of Capitola, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food and drinks, catering to different tastes and preferences. My personal favorite was the fish tacos—they were absolutely delicious, with fresh and flavorful ingredients that made every bite a pleasure. This place is a 10/10!!! 🌟 I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!!! Every dish I ordered was amazing! We had Mussels, Chicken burrito 🌯 and fish tacos! The only thing is that the mussels come with butter bread instead of fries 😢 But, the mussels itself were super tender and juicy the soup/sauce made them even better!!! I think the price is fair since the food was bomb!! 🔥

Beautiful beach view! Good for the soul food and view. The ceviche was delicious. Never had it with halibut before. Will be doing back. Fast and friendly service.

Love it! Whether you sip on a margarita during happy hour or decide on dinner and desert, this local gem will not disappoint. Enjoy the picturesque view of the beach. 👀 My partner and I ordered the calamari, mussels and the branzino. All dishes were flavorful and tasty. Especially the sauces!! As for dessert, the horchata ice cream was a hit! And just like that, we had to try the churros. Our bellies were full and happy. 🤩 Highly recommend. 🙌🏽

Margaritaville exceeded all of our expectations. First of all - Donyl was amazing, she was so attentive and anticipated our every need. Our food was delicious, we ordered the quesadillas and the skirt steak tacos. I wish I took a pic, but they were so tasty that we devoured them immediately. Not the mention the waterside views.... We will absolutely be back, thank you Donyl for the fantastic service and the Margaritaville team for a wonderful dinner experience!

Great, fresh food and drinks served quickly. The outdoor seating was very nice, even in November. There are heaters and I saw some guests with blankets. We were outdoor when it was sunset and it was just gorgeous.

Fell in love with Capitola Village and this great little restaurant. Everything we had here was delicious! Chips and salsa were so warm and fresh. Drinks were great! Check this place out and sit on their beach side patio.

I have a avoided this place for years out of fear of it being too touristy, but I’ve been missing out! I also don’t like chain restaurants for the most part because they tend to care less about the quality of food and make up for it with consistency and protocols. This place checks all boxes! I had the BEST steamed mussels and my daughter loved her fish tacos. I’ve been back with friends and we enjoyed the chicken nachos and steak tacos. Of course, the margaritas were perfect 🤩

Lively place for a meal by the water! We always enjoy sitting outside and looking at the colorful houses. Their flavored range of margaritas are all good! Tacos were great - Fish and Shrimp.

We were in CA visiting my mom and took a drive out to Capitola. We had lunch at Margaritaville and sat out on the patio. I had the Dungeness Crab Tostadas, my daughters both had the Baja Fish Tacos and my Mom had the Mussels. The weather, the view, the service and the food was all very good. If I could change one thing I would have asked that they leave off the chipotle crema on the tostadas. It was good but it overpowered the taste of the crab. Also, with the guacamole, it wasn't really needed. But, a great experience and super pleased.

The outside patio had an amazing view! The server Caesar was so genuinely nice and caring! And the food was beyond our expectations of fresh and delicious and lots of it!

We came out to Capitola for like an hour as we were heading back home and stopped by this cute place because of the name lol. Not super busy but keep in mind we went on a Wednesday during lunch time. We were able to sit wherever we wanted so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was super sweet and shared with us some of her favorite foods. I got the Chile verde plate and my husband got the burrito. Both were sooooo good. I also got two margaritas that were delicious. One was pomegranate and the other was strawberry mango. Service was great. Food was amazing. Clean and Cute inside. Awesome vibe and will return

We had the Veggie Scramble for breakfast. Our table overlooked the beach/ocean/river/colorful houses. Both the food and view are fantastic! Reasonable prices for what you get. Service is very friendly and personable. We ate her twice during our visit :)

This is worth the Long Island tea! Their drinks at any hour is happy hour. Crab cakes sandwich is top of the line, onion rings are crunchy but chewy, and the seared tuna is nicely seared. A stroll around the wharf helps to digest and keep pleasant memories of this restaurant etched into the recess of your mind filed under, "Must come back again for the Long Island Tea!"

The best Fish Tacos. We sat on the back deck in January, in the sun, next to the beach and had wonderful service. The "Painted Ladies Building " was right in front of us.

The nachos are so awesome. We had two of them. Great selection of beer on tap. great view of the ocean and the birds and the wildlife.

Great calamari sandwich. A little too much cold slaw but I ate some with a fork then it was great. Refill in drinks a little slow. We are outside enjoying the ocean view. waitress was very nice and helpful. We’ll be back.

Monday night had a live band. Vibe is good. $5 cover charge. Sat outside on deck. Good calamari with fries. Basic bloody Mary. It wasn't strong. Had two, walked out feeling as if I didn't have any drinks. But it was still ok. Blackened fish on a tostada.

Excellent breakfast! There was nothing I would change! Really! Pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, toast all perfectly done. Cute place. Highly recommend.

Excellent customer service, had dinner and drinks, then stayed to enjoy the live music, The Mighty Sons played and they were fantastic! I had steak tacos and my husband had the shirt steak with grilled mushrooms and onions, we both loved our dishes, delicious. We also had the crab cakes as an appetizer and A Couples Paradise is what the drink is called.

Yes! A must! Great staff, food, drinks and live music most nights. Happy Hour specials weekdays. Beautiful views. Back patio sits on the water. One of the Happy Hour Specials: $10 Burger, fries & drink (beer, wine, well, soda) ... Mention Happy Hour Burger special when ordering. And absolute pleasure. Have enjoyed multiple visits... breakfast, lunch & dinner.

What an amazing location it’s not really a dive bar. It’s very high-end if that. Beautiful view for lagoon and colorful houses, you can see the pier from here although it’s not that much after the storm you can also see the beach and people relaxing. Have a beer here a decent price sitting out on the deck.

We sat outside, view was spectacular this was the weekend of the massive waves that took out part of the S.Cruz wharf. Started with Ceviche and chips, split the calamari sandwich and steak sandwich. I recommend going later so you can stay for the music, 5 nights a week.

I get the crab tostadas. They are good. There halibut ceviche is also a good choice. Service is good and we sit outside and watch the ducks.

We love this place. The food and the view are great. Service is impeccable. We like to ride the bikes from downtown Santa Cruz and reward ourselves with a lunch or late afternoon appetizers and a drink. We go during the week because on weekends the restaurant and the whole area in Capitola gets super busy.

Great restaurant in capitola village right on the riverfront with a view of the ocean. The food is good. I ordered the nacho appetizer with shrimp and it was pricey but it had huge serving! Wish I could have tried the cocktails but it was a work lunch

We visited capitola for two days and came to this restaurant both days! The fish tacos and shrimp tacos were incredible. And the specialty cocktails were delicious! I highly recommend the Lava Flow!

Was a very awesome experience. The chef Dan was very cooperative and he made an Indian vegetarian dish for me was very delicious and impressive. It was not in a menu he customized according to my preferences Thanks 😊

I love the server Nora. She is very accomodating from the time we arrived. Her attention to details make difference. She is very friendly and hospitable.

Loved it. Super sweet server, DELICIOUS mahi and prawn tacos 🌮, and a nice hibiscus lemonade mocktail. Kitchen was very quick to send out our order. Seating is a little tight out back but it’s perfect for on the beach.

The location is awesome, right on the beach. Enjoyed lunch with my wife and cousins. The food was good as was the service. Parking is the worst part!!! Good luck!!! 😁

I’ve been to Margaritaville many times, but not recently and I was very excited to learn of their mocktail menu. I quit drinking over five years ago and it’s always been hard to find options, because even though you’re not drinking, you still want to have a fancy drink. I had a wonderful Non-alcoholic margarita with Ritual NA Tequila. It was so delicious! Thank you for providing that to your customers.

We came with the family to come and visit and have some good food. The quesadilla Birria was very good so was the Baja fish tacos 🌮. And of course the chips and salsa with avocado 🥑 was delicious. I normally don't drink but I ordered a house Margarita and it was good too. We will have to come back again.

I have lived in Santa Clara California for 18 years since I married an American. Many weekends we go to different areas of the bay, Capitola is one of my favorites, especially in summer. We go to this restaurant for lunch as soon as we arrive, the atmosphere is incredible. They have many tables inside a very spacious room, but I like the terrace facing , where there are always seagulls and other birds. Well behaved dogs are welcome =) the quality of the food is excellent: Is Californian & Mexican cuisine. I recommend start with or the calamari, so good. In winter the clam chowder is superb. If you like margaritas, the mango one is fantastic.The staff is friendly, professional and the service is fast. I highly recommend this place for a fun moment with good food.

This place has always been a place to stop and enjoy when in town. However due to covid ending and everything coming to the cost it's way to packed. The food was great as usual just over crowded. Plus they don't take reservations so you need to check in. The food was delicious and they were very fast from taking our order to getting the food to the table.

Never been here before. It was nice. Staff was pleasant and professional. Our drinks were very good. We were told the menu has Venezuela vibe. It was very good. I gave 4 stars because it was so darn cold, I was very uncomfortable.

One of the best Mexican fare in the area ! Guacamole is fresh as always and so are the salsas. Salsa Verde is really the best. Their margaritas stand up to the name of the restaurant I must say. All margaritas are good and compete with each other. Their Enchiladas with Verde sauce is to die for !! Their outdoor seating faces the beach and you will have a memorable dining experience.

Went here for dinner for two. Drinks were tasty and the Italian margarita was quite strong. For a starter we had calimari and for the entree we had a big chicken mole burrito. Both food items were very good. We sat outside in the back along the water, and the only complaint was the table was too small for food plates, drinks, and anything else on the table. A coat and hat rack would also be nice to have outside. 75 with tip for two people, it's expensive, I'm just not used to California prices being an out of stater. Overall good food and good drinks.

Came here during a visit to the west coast and I was not disappointed! Some local friends brought us over for lunch by the water. Food and a view is always a good idea. Food: For the table we got guac and chips. You can't go wrong with guac. For entrees my boyfriend and I shared the Chili Verde enchiladas and the Baja fish tacos. The enchiladas were great but the beans were good but the rice wasn't anything particularly special. The fish tacos on the other hand were AMAZING. I will be thinking about those tacos for a long time. Service / Ambiance: Service was average here, nothing extraordinary. As for the ambiance, we sat outside so with the view of the beach and the water we really couldn't go wrong. Even if it was a chilly day it was comfortable out on their deck. Would definitely come back! Thanks!

Came to eat after the Arts and Wine festival. We enjoyed the food we had. I loved my fish tacos.

Love the view at the back of the Bar. Waitress was very nice and check on us even the place was very busy. Food needs improvement, fish and chips had no taste (fish) the clam chowder soup was really good. Great atmosphere!

The food was really good! Had the Santa Cruz coconut prawn tacos and my husband had the ceviche! Both excellent and large portions. Katy our waitperson was upbeat and attentive. Also had the house margarita, very yummy. Sat outside as the evening sunshine was lovely! Definitely worth a stop just for good food & beverage & great setting.

Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. It was a bit of a wait to get a seat but it was well worth it. The western bacon and garlic fries were super yummy. If you eat on the balcony you get a great view of the ocean. We got lucky and it wasn’t super crowded but it can be pretty crazy at times, really depends on the day. Delicious place to eat if you’re tired of the usual.

I went down to help support the recently storm damaged businesses in town. I was met with a cheerful hello and a nice warm place to have lunch. I had the toasted BLT and fries. Good proportions at a decent price. The sandwich was a bit on the greasy side for my tastes, but it was very good otherwise. I'll try it another day with a request to use a little less oil next time. I recommend the place for sure!

Nice ambiance, good food with good service. We have ordered clam chowder which was not that great. Coconut shrimp was favorite and crab cakes were awesome too. Liked the fish and chips ,fish was fresh but little bit salt was less. Mahi mahi sandwich was ok . Over all good experience

We thought this was a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville, but it wasn't. Story is that Mr. Buffett actually let them keep their restaurant name, which is cool! It's in a touristy location, right across from the water and those iconic Capitola colored houses. So we were so surprised to find that the margaritas were super solid, the service was great, and the fish tacos were delicious! I'd stay away from the too-salty clam chowder though. Phil's in Castroville still has the best clam chowder IMO. We'll definitely come back to enjoy the sun and the gorgeous view from the patio and the margaritas again!

Great location and view of Capitola Beach but the food was just ok. The quesabirria tacos lacked flavor and were light on the queso oaxaca. Server was friendly and the drinks were average. 3 average tacos, 1 beer and a margarita = $60 with a tip. Go for the view and drinks.

UPDATE: I went again on 6/21/22 and changing my review because the ceviche that I had last time was amazing but this time, it totally changed in flavor and had mostly shrimp with barely any of the fish ceviche (which is my favorite). I was disappointed it was not like the last time. The ceviche was a huge reason why I came back, however I won't be coming back. Not sure why they changed it... Also the Paloma was not good. Previous review:I am happy to say I was content with what I ate!!! I am a ceviche connoisseur and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the ceviche was! It has both fish and shrimp ceviche. My preference is usually fish, but this was so good that it didn't matter!- one of the best!!! I also felt the size of it was filling. The clam chowder was good; I would say above average but I have also tasted some that are 5/5 in the past, so this is more like a 4/5. Also, I was not a big fan of the environment inside the restaurant- it seemed too touristy. But luckily, we ate outside in the patio and we were watching the beach and the colorful homes from there. Outside, it is a less clean though because of the birds. But because of the view outside, it has a nice feeling and the waitress was really kind!

A staple of Capitola except on this day. I had the 3 tacos and an IPA. You always know there is disconnect or a mistake when your food comes out A)Before your beer B)Within 3 minutes of ordering. Had finished 1.5 of the tacos before my tepid beer arrived. My food and beer brought by different people and other than my waitress. $50 for tepid beer, poor service and average tacos was a huge dissapointment. Won't be back cuz there are too many choices. I suspect others love this place but my $0.02.

Not sure what has changed here--ownership? Use to be a favorite option on the water. Last night's meal was isappointing--over priced for what got. When our orders arrived, the waiter didn't even attempting to place meals in front of us, but leaving them across the table from us. He seemed to judge his level of services based on the level of spend. Table of four next to us got a different level of service....

I paid over 100$ worth of food and received my food with barely anything inside. I went back inside to ask where the rest of my food is and they must've hunted all of the squid in the sea because the man at the register said that he "couldn't control the weight of the box or how much was inside". Meanwhile, the cook in the back said that they ran out of calamari so they had to distribute what they had left at 3pm. Very disappointing by something rated 4.2 stars and wasn't busy, not returning because of this bad service and communication. They could've at least mentioned this issue and asked if we wanted to switch what we had ordered to something they had more of. The food also wasn't fresh and had no flavor whatsoever, its taste is comparable to the back of Ghandis slipper. I ordered lemonade and that was also very off-putting as well.
