Opiniones de Gestalt Haus Fairfax
Popular place, great sausages and a wide beer selection. Vegan and vegetarian options. Games available to play. Good for a younger bar going crowd and also for the bicyclist community.
Such a chill+fun place! Bench seating, order-at-register, and enjoy. Rotating beer selection and amazing brats/hot-dogs. Order a beer… then order food at the bar + what you want on it (sauerkraut)…then… add fixings (4 kinds of mustard=yesss) as desired…aaaand... 🤷♂️… then chill (with the cool/chill regulars - probably all mtn bikers)… Do you want to be marin-cyclist-woke? Go here.
I've been many times. A great place for tap beer and brats, especially for post-ride 🚴♂️ nourishment! Over 30 draft beers to choose from, many craft or German, all at $6 a half liter. Another $6 gets you a sausage. What's not to like?!? Just one request. Bring back the Spaten. Prost!
This place is awesome! great late night food and nice brews on tap. I like the vibe here it's pretty hippie considering it is Fairfax. You can come in with your bike or with some friends or on your own and enjoy a nice beer and company along with some tasty food!
Delicious dogs and refreshing brews! Great spot for cyclists looking for a post-ride hang. Friendly staff and a mellow crowd make Gestalt House my go-to in Fairfax! Oh, and the outdoor (patio?) area is pretty sweet! Will be back.
If you're a cyclist and you like beer then you'll love this place! Great beer selection and a good selection of sausages and sandwiches. They have racks for you to be able to hang your bike and board games to keep you entertained.
The most bike-friendly bar I’ve been to, with an unmatched tap list and fabulous sausage. Don’t hesitate on the quinoa, cheesesteak, or chili....all legendary. Amazing staff and friendly atmosphere, one of my favorite spots in Marin.
Don't miss this Fairfax establishment. Beer lovers will appreciate on tap choices served in frozen steins. Satisfy your hunger by choosing from about 10 varieties of sausage! Fresh, house made Cole slaw, giant brownies and bring your bicycle . . . ample parking is available on the interior wall of this beer hall.
Choice pit stop. I load up on hot sauce and krout over any dog/sausage and yeah any beer and I'm metabolically calibrated for weeks. Great playlist going too. Just don't get run over by a bicycle. Unless you put a stick in the spokes of course.
What's not to like? Ample bicycle storage. Great beer selection. Great sausage selection. And a mean tuna melt. Love coming to this place for lunch after a good, hard ride.
A great spot to drink some good beer, have a little food and talk with friends. Large beer selection, $5 - $7. Also available in a liter glass. Sausages, including three vegan options, with toppings to choose from. Not a bar so you'll frequently see children in here getting food with their parents during the day. With bike hangers on the wall this spot is very popular with bikers in Marin. Later on weekend evenings you get more of a young drinking crowd. Seating is benches and will often have you meeting your neighbor as conversations will begin to cross. Very crowded during peak times, but have around and you'll get some space to sit.
Sausages, sandwiches and so many ice cold beers on draft. More than the sum of its parts. Nicest staff in the world. This place is a bit intimidating but worth it. You can eat and drink at the little parklette(?) next door under umbrellas. Highly recommended for an easy bite to eat and a cold beer or three.
Vice Grip is my most favoritist Fairfax Hobbit Curmudgeon that ever lived! And he cooks too! He is great, his staff is great, is it possible for me to say "great" some more? Why, yes it is! Great food, great beer selection, great kitchen, the greatness goes on. Beers, and Brats and Bikes, oh my! Revel in the greatness, people. You will thank me.
Great place to grab a cold beer and a really good bratwurst. A must pub to stop in and enjoy the cycling atmosphere. If not cycling just stop in and enjoy the frosty beer and food.
Every town we end up working in has it's own special bar that we love. This one is added to our list of places we will remember long after our job is done and we move on. Good beer on tap served in 22oz portions for only 4 bucks for most of their selection. Perfect bar food. Hot soft pretzels ( seriously brilliant. Haven't had a good soft pretzel in forever) great sausages of all types and other delights. Going to miss this place
The food/beer and service are great!! But guys, come on can we get a real website??? Facebook is dead
Nearly an entire wall is available for hanging your bicycle inside. In the center is a row of picnic style tables for big group interaction. There is a short bar and one or two tables off to the side, plus some outdoor seating. The staff is always lively and happy. The owner is a friendly guy. Many interesting beers on tap. They make a good Ruben.
$6 for half a pint and $10 for a full pint. The place has a nice vibe. A lot of young people were here the Saturday night when I went. The bartender's were cool, but not the most attentive. The sausages were a good snack to go with my beer. They've got a pretty wide selection of both sausages and beer, so I can't imagine getting too tired of the place. Note that this isn't a place to go for an intimate setting; a lot of the seating is shared, so if you're scared of strangers, don't plan on coming here. I'd say if you want a place to chill and maybe play a game of cards, this is your place. I plan on going back again, albeit maybe earlier with a bigger group. Edit: they've recently updated the menu and started serving some great grub. You can get a big Reuben that comes with Cole slaw for 9 bucks. I can see myself coming back for some cheap, good food and some great beer. I've had good experiences every time I've come here, and they've earned their 5 stars from me.
Genuinely Cali-Deutsche!! Great German food and beer with great staff
Fun, funky bike friendly beer hall. Lots of veer on tap and in bottles/cans. They easily have over 30 different kinds of sausages, and theyre delicious in a very simple way. Its pretty loud in there, and the staff is rough around the edges in the best kind of way. I'll definitely be back for beer and sausages next time I'm in town
This comfortable environment for bike riders, hikers and locals serves up a wide verity of sausage and draft beer options. Friendly staff, good prices and simple setup make this a fun destination. Highly recommended by the Monday hiking group.
They have hangers so you can bring your bike inside. It's often crowded so this can be awkward, particularly when leaving and buzzed. There's a patio as well, but the inside is cool. The staff are typical aloof pseudo alternative types, which I like, but then the owner delivers your food and messes with you, which is also cool. Lots of bikers with a splash of entitled Marin yoga types and a few old codgers telling you the way it is. Lots of great beers and the tiny kitchen pumps out killer pastrami and of course, they're the French Laundry of Sausage with an enormous mustard and accoutrement bar....so ride Tamarancho then have a Rueben and a Fieldwork.....makes for a great day.
Good food: Reuben sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and a smoked brat. Best kimchi we’ve had in a long while. Ate on the patio with a nice breeze. Great hazy IPA. Docked a point for lengthy confusion on getting our complete order to our table. Would gladly eat here again!
Absolutely the WURST place in Marin. Good food, good people, and good times. A must-have every time we're back.
I was able to walk around Fairfax this week and found a comfortable chair at the bar here. Friendly service with just the right amount of salt and comarade. Great variety of beers on tap. Bike racks inside. But damn, the food! Make sure you come here hungry!
Super fun place for your group of friends riding by! Bike friendly! Vast variety of sausages, sandwiches and beer!
Stopped here on a Saturday during my bike ride. Filled with fellow cyclists but all are welcome. Super friendly staff, nice tap list, and the food (brats, dogs, sandwiches, etc) was excellent for what it is. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite, beer, and good vibes. Thank you!
For all the mountain bikers and cyclists out there. A pub where you can hang your precious bicycle - what a great way to generate ambiance whilst targeting the desired market. Add post-ride german sausages and beers and the result is perfection.
5 star to spite them or to reward them? I dunno... they aspire to be the worst eatery in Marin but they are well... the self professed French Laundry of sausages. Standard attire is neon lycra. Now if only they had a bike valet...
A first timer in Marin County but won’t be the last, partly due to this amazing experience as well. A perfect end to a beautiful day out mountain biking some gorgeous trails around cascade. Whatever the mountains took form me, Gestalt gave me back. Gestalt ticks every box for me in terms of vibe and feel. Their beer selection was brilliant, the sausages were good, the bike racks, decor and attitude even better. Loved every good minute that we spent there and will be back for sure.
The food is amazing. I love their brats and the sides that they have to be added.
Love this place! The employees are fun, friendly, and genuine. Great selection of hot dogs and super cold beer. The owner makes the quinoa salad personally and I highly recommend it. This place is obviously a labor of love. It’s a Mountain biker bar, so if you don’t like sweaty people in spandex avoid it on the weekend.
If you’re a cyclist best place to go after a ride and you can park your bike inside.
As an avid cyclist this is pretty much perfect end point to any number of classic Marin rides ending in Fairfax. Awesome people, awesome beer, awesome food ("the French Laundry of sausage").
Love this place. Great sausages, great beer. Just hard to ride back to SF after indulging.

This used to be the Book Beat Cafe about 20 years ago. And it is now a local scene with regulars and places to hang your mountain bike after a ride. The owner is sassy and serves many terrific great beers on tap. The staff are friendly and always attentive. If you hate Donald Trump this is the place to go see anti-Trump propaganda. Bring your liberal attitude and your thirst: The beers are oversized at a 20 oz pour.
Stopped off after a long day of hiking. This is the type of place that makes you want to relocate your life to a new town and become a bar local. Great service and cool, unpretentious vibe. Solved their beer selection- finally something other than IPA! Will return and try food next time.

Gestalt is great. Wide selection of beers, plus a wide selection of sausages. And Rubens, if you like. Worst thing about it is its own success. Can be busy to the extreme, tight packed with bikes on the walls, and no seats. I try to go at off hours.
The to-go sippy cups of beer were just what was needed after a long hike. Good beer selection, fairly decent service, appropriate covid precautions taken. No complaints. If you are thirsty after a day on mt tam, this is a quick and easy stop
Cool bar. Real mixed crowd of locals and biker (pedal biker, that is) tourists. Great beer selection. Sausages were good value, and generally the food was big portions. Some games to play as well. Nice place.
Beer Brat with pretzel bun was fantastic! Inside was very smoky and full even at 2 pm so I had to sit outside. The beer selection is not German. Expect an offering of local craft beers.
Great food and drinks, great service, cool atmosphere. We got the Kolsch and the Ghost Town and they were both great. We had the Pineapple Brat with Sauerkraut and the G Streak with sweet and spicy peppers, a pickle, and coleslaw. Its gonna sound stupid, but I was super grateful the coleslaw seemed fresh and wasn't drowning in mayo. haha. It was all DELICIOUS, huge, and took 2 sittings to finish. Our drinks were served by a cool dude who gave off owner/manager vibes and our food was brought out to us by Ruffin who was also super friendly and cool. We felt very at home here. The decorations were fun and being able to enjoy bites and bevs outside in the sunshine was wonderful. I'd happily come back.
Gestalt Haus is a fun spot to stop for a beer and a bite after a bike ride or hike in the area. There are plenty of wall-hanging racks for your bike inside the restaurant, so you don't need to worry about bringing a lock when you ride. The atmosphere is no-frills and all about the beer! You can get a cold one in half-liter or full-liter size, play a board game from their decent selection of games if you want to have two beers, choose a beer from a wide selection of craft American and classic German beers, and satisfy your hunger with a great selection of sausages, sandwiches and salads. It's a small small place that's big on fun. Check it out!

3 stars based on this place is not clean at all. Flies buzzing around while trying to enjoy my bratwurst, paper towel roll at my table had big streaks of old sauce on it. Place has really turned into a local hangout for the beer crowd. Food is decent, but I won't be going back because it's just too dirty/smelly.
Good beer, ok food well worth stopping as the beers are great. Some strange opening hours, but friendly staff and a great local crowd, especially on a Tuesday! When the local mountain bike group descends for post ride chats and beer, very welcoming! "Shaboobies!" Enjoy 🚵♀️🚵🚵♂️🏞️👊🏼🍻🍻🍻

Just popped in for a quick sausage. Since this is really all they do you’d think it would t be hard due to overcooking a simple sausage. But nope. For 11 got a hard dog and warm coke. Bummer.
