Matito’s Tex-Mex in Flower Mound, Texas was a fantastic surprise and an absolute pleasure to visit. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable — the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good conversation, and know you’re about to have a great meal. Everything about the experience felt thoughtfully done, from the service to the food to the drinks. The shrimp tacos were outstanding. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, and paired beautifully with fresh toppings that brought everything together without overpowering the dish. Every bite was balanced, satisfying, and clearly made with care. They were easily some of the best shrimp tacos I’ve had, and I would go back just for those alone. One of the highlights of the evening was their peppermint espresso martini — a truly unique and memorable drink. It was incredibly well put together, smooth, festive, and perfectly balanced, with the peppermint adding a refreshing twist without being overwhelming. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely warm, happy to talk through the drink and make recommendations. That level of expertise and hospitality made the entire experience even better. Overall, Matito’s Tex-Mex delivers great food, creative cocktails, and a welcoming environment that makes you want to stay awhile. I’ll definitely be coming back and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent Tex-Mex and standout drinks in Flower Mound.

First time visitor to the Flower Mound location, had the Maria plate with a puffy taco and an avocado enchilada. What a delicious lunch! Loved the cilantro sauce on the enchilada, and the chicken in the taco was very well seasoned. Complimentary chips and two(!) different kinds of salsa to go with them rounded out the offering. Staff was so welcoming and attentive, and made me feel at home. A great place to eat, will definitely be telling friends and family about y'all. ¡Mil gracias!

Service was stellar. They have an outside covered patio that is dog friendly. It was a cold day. We were the only ones there yet despite that the buser Chino went above and beyond and went to get a 10ft ladder to climb and plug in the overhead heater. Brought water for our dogs. He was extremely outgoing and focused on making our experience the best he could. Great worker and should get a raise. Chino was great! Food and atmosphere were also very good.

Perfection. Welcoming and inviting. From the moment I walked in, it was a welcoming experience. First, my server, Gabby, was so nice. She was attentive and left no stone unturned. Her attention to detail was awesome, but also she was genuinely nice and kind. She had a very large table but still kept an eye on us and made sure we were great! I’m not surprised though, because when I saw the manager, Alex, I remembered him from another location a few years ago. He was the nicest man then and he is so kind and nice now. I saw him consistently making his way from table to table and going around the restaurant making sure everything was on point. It clearly shows because literally everyone was so nice and made the experience memorable. The staff mirrored his excellence. I’ll definitely be making my way there again during the week; however, the brunch is a must as well.

Our server Mundo was awesome. Nice guy. Friendly....great service. The quesadilla was the slightest bit dry but...you know...chicken. the Margarita on the other hand was perfect!!! All in all, we love this place. But let me spend about 30 seconds on the review. What did I get...what did I spend...where did we sit...really? Can't I just say it was great without the 300 questions? The review process takes away from the dining experience.

We had an excellent experience thanks to our waiter. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. Our orders were taken promptly, everything came out exactly as requested, and they checked in at the perfect times without being intrusive. I love a good chimichanga. The brisket chimichanga did not disappoint. Chips and salsa were good and plentiful. We also got queso which wasn't bad. Would go back again.

My husband decided this was the place he wanted to enjoy for his birthday dinner - it did not disappoint! The food was wonderful, portion size plentiful, price reasonable but the best thing about it was the service. Eddie was fantastic! Very attentive and a joy. This was our first trip there and the service Eddie provided ensured it won't be our last. The next time we want great Tex-Mex we're heading to Mattito's.

My salmon dish was perfectly prepared. I enjoyed the side of veggies. Drinks are reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly and timely worth everything. There are several seating areas, so noise is not bad at all. This was a friend's recommendation for our evening close to them, and it did not disappoint.

This is such a great restaurant for Mexican food. The prices are better than most in the area and the food is delicious. It has a great, laid back atmosphere and the employees are so nice! My husband got the brisket tacos (comes with rice and beans). I got the puffed beef tacos (also comes with rice and beans but I substituted beans for rice-I also opted for no cheese on my tacos). Both dishes were not only great but they were filling as well. When the puffed tacos came out it didn't look like there was any meat. Let me assure you, there was A TON of meat. I ended up kind of smashing the second one and eating it with a fork because it was messy and the bottom is full of meat. When we first got there, we got chips and salsa. The thinner salsa in the picture is what we received and it was spicy and really good. With our meal, they brought more salsa and it was thicker and while it was fresh and taste good, it wasn't as spicy. Our waiter was attentive and our drinks stayed full. The only thing that's a little strange is the parking. It's in the back of the restaurant but the way it's set up it can be a little confusing if you're in the right place. This is not the fault of the restaurant, I think it's just where it's located. Not a big deal but thought I'd mention it!

Love the atmosphere! The service is great! The food is good but uses too much salt! Queso needs a less salty cheese. Too much salt added to beans dishes. Salt can always be added at the table if needed.

Ordered mojito, margarita and sangria. I like mojito. Then the main order. We ordered CHICKEN FAJITA CHIMICHANGA (friend burrit), shrimp fajitas, chicken enchiladas. Food was good, but they were closing soon so we didn't order the dessert. Overall decent experience.

The live music on Sunday was fabulous and the servers were friendly. The presentation was nice. I just wish the portion of fish taco can be bigger.

Lovely cozy place to dine in. The service is friendly and with smiles across the board that stays with you ... Such a pleasant experience. We ordered combo fajitas , the Baja shrimp , the flan and the dulce de leche churro that comes with a blob of cotton candy ...everything tasted awesome, the chips came with salsa Verde which we loved. The Baja shrimp was big, rightly done with cheese, jalapeno and wrapped in bacon was an instant hit. The only thing on the fajitas was that it lacked a bit of seasoning for our liking. Once again awesome friendly service , kudos to the staff. Surely a 'must visit again' place.

Great service and location! The food is tasty and reasonably priced, with a solid Tex-Mex flavor, although it didn’t quite reach a five-star level. Drinks were a bit mild, but the delightful service and clean atmosphere made it a pleasant experience overall.

Decent food, service was off today… they seemed unprepared for brunch. Plates were stacking up on our table with 4 staff people talking near by (it wasn’t busy at all) I had to clear the table myself once Server left for 10 minutes at a time, no refills. Food: Omelette station pretty standard Avocado toast (wasn’t toasted, just warmed bread) Chimichangas were surprisingly good (egg & chorizo was my favorite) Brisket was great Baja chicken was ok Chocolate fountain with strawberry and marshmallows was fun! WAFFLES were a throw away item, an absolute afterthought and the only thing that didn’t make it into my stomach (wound up in napkin) Brunch comes with 2 mimosas which is great, charged the same for my 12 year old though… In my opinion there should be a lower price for no alcohol

Food and service is outstanding management here is the problem. You have 7 servers having tables all over the restaurant on a busy night. (mind you this was in different occasions weeks apart)  the back room, main booths and in the main dining room. Instead of sections like normal restaurants do for better and easier service to the guest. The most alarming incident I wont mention our favorite male server’s name. In other words I asked my server for the manager to bring to their attention his pleasant service he always offers us and he directly points at another server YES ANOTHER SERVER!!  and says thats the manager on duty. I was dumbfounded I told my server “you know he is stealing your money right? by being a server and a manager at the same time” and Eddie nonchalantly says “I like money” and shrugs it off. My family and I worked at the restaurant industry when we were younger and never in the book was it allowed for a manager to serve tables just doesn’t seem fair. Hopefully this mattito’s doesnt go to crap like the one in Dallas, Frisco Lewisville and Las colinas. Will be Back to visit our favorite server.
