This is my fav mikuni location! The servers are always speedy and attentive to detail, making sure every part of our time dining in went smoothly Everyone who we came in contact with offered great service Sushi came out quick, fresh and always tasty, the menu offers great selection and lots to choose from, but not overwhelming The Hostess (I believe Lexi) was the best and so welcoming and energetic! From the moment you walk in, the experience is top-tier—from the hosts to the bussers to the overall vibe. The quality is always consistent and always exceptional. My family has been lucky enough to celebrate countless special occasions here, and now we’re even raising our kids to appreciate truly great sushi. If loving Mikuni’s is wrong, I don’t want to be right. Honestly, I just wish I could buy stock in Mikuni’s… because I’d invest heavily. 🍣

The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, yet relaxed enough to enjoy a meal at your own pace. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or solo, the staff makes you feel right at home. The menu is fantastic — always fresh, innovative, and beautifully presented. The sushi is consistently top-notch: delicate, flavorful, and made with skill and care. Favorites like the spicy tuna rolls, dragon rolls, and signature rolls never disappoint. Beyond sushi, the cooked dishes and appetizers are equally impressive — the flavors are bold yet balanced, and every dish demonstrates thoughtful preparation. The service at Mikuni Folsom is exceptional. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping guests enjoy their experience. They are friendly, efficient, and always ready to make recommendations. Even during busy nights, the team handles the floor with professionalism and care. I also love the drinks — the sake and specialty cocktails are thoughtfully curated, pairing perfectly with the dishes. Wait time was short for a Saturday evening. Food was prepared rather quickly. Came with a small group of 4. Though one of the orders was misheard, it was a priority for correction.
The cocktails were refreshing and amazing. Tyson took excellent care of us! This was my first visit and we can't wait to come back!
Visited Mikuni in Folsom for the first time and was really impressed! The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with a great variety of rolls to choose from. The restaurant had a fun, upbeat vibe, and the service was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Definitely lived up to the hype—can’t wait to come back and try more!
This is hands down one of THE best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. Each roll was better than the next. Even the salad (bonsai) was beautifully colored, light tasty dressing that did not drown out the flavors of the salad and perfect portions of small won ton chips to the other ingredients. This will most definitely be our home based sushi restaurant choice.
This place filled up almost as quickly as we sat down. Having not been there we did not realize how popular it is. After eating there, we know why! The food was excellent, the service superior. Our server was Steven and he was more than accommodating, and the food was by far the best sushi we’ve had in the Sacramento area. Highly recommend.
Welcome to El Dorado Hills Mikuni. Love your location with outside seating facing the water. My friend and I stopped in for happy hour and had a great time. The entire staff shouts Namaste to welcome you. We had the absolute best waitress named Chloe. She was wonderful helping us navigate the menu to pick out some delicious happy hour food.The wine list is great with Frank Family chard and more. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly. We will definitely be back and will ask sure to sit in Chloe’s section. 💗

It location had a really good location, great light, sound and smell. The servers were really nice but best part the food was sooo fresh and delicious! Hard to chose from the menu! I went with my daughter to celebrate my birthday, and we had a great time. It was busy but not too busy you had to wait.
First time dining at this particular Mikuni restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Foods are very good and sashimi was very fresh. The environment was very lively and the wait time was very short even though they are super busy. Service was very good and professional. Highly recommend it.
Update: We are keeping this as five stars. The food is consistently high quality. We enjoyed lunch at the sushi bar with sushi chef, Chevy. He was very engaging and prepared us excellent sushi rolls. You just can't go wrong! Previous Review: We have been to several other Mikuni restaurants but it was our first time at the Folsom location. We were not disappointed. The high quality of food is very consistent, and the service is amazing. We can never go wrong with Mikuni. Fans for life here! 🍣🍸🍹
Food quality is pretty consistent with the other Mikuni locations in Sacramento. Every roll we ordered was prepared amazingly! Good location- feels kind of small inside but they do have an outdoor patio area. Staff was friendly. Only thing I wish they changed was the hours of operation on Friday/Saturday. It closes at 10pm.

My Goodness, I've been driving by for quite some time. Jump off the 50 get gas and continue to Tahoe/Reno. I had time to stop in during their happy hour and relax and enjoy. Kool bar that greets you. Optional to eat inside or out. The feeling of a crisp designed dinning area w the view of the Chef and his team. Started w/ a Judy Roll ($9 happy hr. Price) then the lunch Bento boxes (3 options but can make your own 2 choices) well pleased. I've seen many Mikunis around but this1!!! Super friendly staff. Waitress super sweet!
Stop by here for a quick sushi 🍣 before heading to the Shen Yun show. Foods were tasty. Portions is not too big but average for the price. Place is nice and comfy. Parking is free and available when we there.
“There’s always room for improvement” Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. Our server's name was Kate, and she was wonderful! We came for happy hour, and were quickly seated in her section in the sushi bar area of the restaurant. We ordered a coke, which tasted slightly off (our theory was that the syrup ratio in the machine is incorrect). That being said, there was almost nothing but positives for the remainder of our stay. We had ordered the zigzag roll and fair oaks roll, and also asked Kate on her recommendation for two further items on the menu. Her choices for us were the freaky edamame and the puff daddy. Total of $33 +tax and tip for 4 happy hour items and a beverage. Not a bad deal at all, especially considering the higher priced normal menu. The puff daddy wasn't my favorite, but my girlfriend enjoyed it a lot, so take that for what you may! Ambiance resembles San Francisco style sushi bars, with a modern take. Slightly dark in some areas of the restaurant, with the possibility for some romantic dinners during less busy times of the day. Overall rating 8.2/10 TLDR: Kate is a great server, decent prices on happy hour, puff daddy was middle of the road, coke tasted off, nice ambiance, pleasant staff. Will be returning! We had the bento boxes which had a roll, cucumber salad and protein. I had the shrimp which was very good the roll was good also. You can order just rolls if you wish.
We went to Folsom since el dorado hills doesn’t have many of the fried items on the menu when they opened like tempura, deep fried green beans, chicken karaage, tonkatsu. These are some of the main items we typically order at Mikunis Folsom especially at happy hour and they have always been very well prepared and consistent and service is good. On this visit, service was good, however some of the items were disappointing. The Teri chicken, raw Kaizen oysters, sesame chicken and chicken karaage were good and well prepared. However the tempura green beans and mixed tempura were not prepared well. One side of the tempura green beans, shrimp tempura and beef’s was soft and soggy. The other side was somewhat crisp. It was either they didn’t turn the items over or rotate them in the oil, or didn’t fry them long enough or maybe the oil temp was low. Regardless, it wasn’t the quality we had been used to. We had issues like this before at other Mikuni locations but Folsom has always been good and consistent, which made this really disappointing. It may have been an exception this time. I guess we’ll see our next visit. We may try EDH again since we heard they may have at least tempura there now.

great atmosphere, unfortunately the service and management can’t put customer service over food cost. They messed up a few of me and my wife’s orders including nigiri, and when i re-ordered the nigiri to get a dish that doesn’t fall apart, i was told i will get one but was charged for both, when i asked them about the double charge i was told the manager told the server to charge me for both regardless. we’ve been going here for a few years and never had a problem but it seems the service and management has taken a turn, would love to see customer satisfaction over loosing 15$ over two slices of fish.
