BLDG 20226 - Dining Facility (DFAC)

Best dfac I've been on here at bliss for breakfast so far. Options are abundant and functions like it should. If you want to see what depression looks like go to the aviation dfac. This is my go to and i work on the other side of fort bliss.

Good healthy choices. Food is better than most give credit for since it is a chow hall. Operating unit takes pride in the cleanliness of their facility. Great welcoming experience.

There Breakfast is the best. Fresh fruits and avocados 🥑 can't beat that. Really recommend for breakfast and that's about it . There lunch and dinner is really mid tho lol

This place is great. Usually I choose to wait 35 minutes for an undercooked burger, but if I'm feeling a little risky I go get some microwaved pasta and a steak that's as tough as a track pad. Don't forget to get the amazing soft drinks that always are just barely flavored. The staff always has a welcoming frown upon entering, as well as when you're waiting in line for 15 minutes to have your I.D. scanned. You'll get lucky to wait 15 minutes for your I.D. to get scanned just for them to waive you through. Always has a great temperature in the dining facility, if it's 50 degrees outside you can bet it's going to be at least 15 degrees colder in there for your pleasure. Overall great service if you're into being treated like an inmate at Leavenworth. Always food is rationed as if you're in a fallout nuclear war scenario. Smaller rations means you can't over eat so it's great for cutting calories.

Great salad bar. There is a bountiful amount of options to customize a salad unique to one's liking. Great atmosphere as well. While the sports memorabilia is slightly outdated, it's perfect for you to sit back and reminisce while enjoying a hot meal.

I'm a civilian and I like coming here for lunch. I enjoy the well balanced meals here and I specially appreciate the cleanliness of the whole place. This is one of the very few places I can eat a salad with confidence . Can't beat the price either. Definitely 5 Stars

It's a dfac. Food it good enough. Currently, they are doing self-serve, which is great.

It's a dfac. What kind of review do you expect? Lobster every day? Nah. (Well, expect for holidays, but believe me when I say this DO NOT get the mysterious lobster meat)

Breakfast was the best value I have ever had. The food was hot, loads of options and very affordable.

Food is better than other cafeterias. Yes, the lines are long. However, portions are fair, and the food is cooked well. Breakfast starts at 7:30.

Short order lane will always be the same most of the time on lunch/dinner/brunch/supper wise but once see what’s on the main lane, it’s what you expect to see.

Food is ok, typical chow hall food. Terrible hours, need to post hours on door. Cook needs to learn what over easy is.

Service was adequate, and if you convince yourself long enough sometimes the food actually doesn't taste like slop. Also it depends on who's working that day

They try hard to get great meals out but come up short on hot food. The salad bar is fabulous. Good coffee.

It's a DFAC not a 5-star restaurant so if you're coming here expecting crab, filet mignon or a smorgasbord of deserts and cake you're in the wrong place. You might be getting deducted $350 dollars a month if you're a single soldier thats $3.80 per meal that you're getting deducted anyway so might as well eat here. And considering how much food you can get it's a pretty good deal. You can get an entree two veggies two starches and a roll as well as a salad desert, ice cream and unlimited drinks. That's not bad at all. Something ran out on line? Not a big deal just ask any cook and they'll try to fix the problem. And don't be rude you don't know when the cook came to work or when they're going to leave and they're serving you food, that should be your favorite person.

It's tastes good but the food tears up my insides as it passes true.. The toilet not only had a snickers bar but large amount of tomato juice.. And it's the certain foods you gotta be careful about, but what good is eating if you gotta worry about what'll hurt and what won't.

So I got up the other morning and began to contemplate the meaning of life, I walked around for hours, smelling the morning dew, and trying think of the true reason we are here on this planet after all these years. Then I came to this building, a very uninviting building, the type you can tell the government had commissioned. I went in and was greeted by a lovely young soldier asking for a meal card, after showing and passing through I found myself in a glorious valley of food, but upon further investigation, I discovered something was off...the people working were ugly and rude, saying I couldn't have both potatoes and beans...I shrieked and ran, running past misfit after misfit till I found the exit. I then knew that the meaning of life was to live it...to live...even if that meant eating horrid food to survive...like dfac chicken.

EEHH‼️‼️‼️I like that everyone has to wash their hands, so I gave them points for that, but most of their food is dry and not edible. Should have more stations/choices open. Also re-stock your tables.

Minimal selection at breakfast. Beverage machines rarely work. Tv is almost never on. Its clean at least. The 4th of July lunch was good. If only it was always like that.

This DFAC is by far the worse DFAC in the whole Fort Bliss, if you like spoon full of scrambled eggs and a 7 grains of rice and get greeted with the bad service of Soldiers that don’t want to be in the military, this is definitely your place.

Just go eat anywhere else

This place serves mediocre DFAC food. It's not even that they dont have options. The food is just not cooked properly or prepared properly.

Does any leadership within the Battalions, Brigade, or the Division ever eat at the Muleskinner DFAC? There is no way an E8+/O3+ would voluntarily eat here. I'll either drive 15+ mins to main base and eat at the Bamford DFAC or purchase food out of pocket. Thank goodness I'm only here for one year, but I feel so sorry for the Soldiers that have no choice but to eat at this DFAC every meal/day.

This DFAC is beyond horrible. I’m literally lost for words to say about this DFAC. This is a dining facility, where we stand in line for 20 minutes for a cheeseburger that they don’t start cooking until you come to the line. They have the food made to order instead of already having it made and when someone gets a cheeseburger you replace that one with a new burger to make so that people aren’t standing in line for a half hour for food. If you don’t want a cheeseburger you can also wait in line for a hot dog as well which you can get chili for, but here’s the catch on that... if you ask for a chili dog, the server will put the bun on the plate and then the hot dog beside it and then pour chili all over the plate and make a mess. and you can’t say anything because “that’s what we were told to you” You can also get a sandwich wrap with the cheese plastic on the wrap as well (happened to me a couple of times). and as far as drinks go... everything is watery. Watered down soda, watered down orange juice, watered down sweet tea, watered down gatorade. This dfac is horrible, if there was another place to eat at in walking distance I wouldn’t go to this dfac even if they paid me to eat there it’s so bad

The lines are out of control, they run out of food and drinks every time I’ve been there. (Two main issues 1. Running out of food. That’s ridiculous 2. Long lines I know are more of a higher command problem...they need to find a way to mitigate this issue. Not sure if it’s the size of the dfac, but the high volume of soldiers they have coming in/out needs to be proportionate to the amount of food being ordered...either open another dfac or be open longer- whatever they’re doing now ain’t working)

Beverage machines are hardly stocked, everyone working there is a cook but somehow half the food they make there isn’t prepared properly and pretty regularly doesn’t open on time because they don’t notify proper channels to send soldiers for head count. Better off buying food from the shopette.
