They make delicious Madurai style (South Indian, South Tamilnadu) food that is pretty rare in North America. Go here if you feel adventurous to try a new cuisine. Great value as well.

Did a DoorDash delivery. Here is my review Really good food. 1. Chicken lollypop was flavorful 2. Paneer 65 - just looking at it I felt it might be just basic fried paneer but it turned out to be tasty as well 3. Butter chicken - creamy but had a kick. Yes, it has the sweetness but it has a kick which is surprising considering I prefer less spice. But it was decent spice and not something that will make cry next day. Ha! 4. Prawn 65 - This had a good kick and my friend who is into spice loved it. It was a bit more spicy for me but still flavorful and tolerable. Bither Paneer 65 and Prawn 65 came with green chutney. I expected it will be dark green chutney but it was lighter in color. I thought this might be watered down. However it was not watered down and it had good consistency and was tasty too. It went well with above items. The portions were really good. Definitely a place to order again and appreciate the quality of the food.

I’ve been here on two separate occasions and absolutely loved the Kanchipuram nool parotta! The pepper chicken (gravy) and the Pallipalayam chicken (gravy) both went so well with the parotta my mouth is watering as I type. The mutton soup was also so good. The restaurant ambience is pretty basic, but the staff is very nice and accommodating.

Went several times before yesterday and never had a disappointing experience every time. Go to order is their fish thali set and it’s always super tasty. We ordered briyani (chicken 65) that comes with dalcha (bakrid special) and eggplant side dish. It was extremely great! Such a feast on Eid.

I had mutton biriyani and it was absolutely delicious — very flavorful and perfectly cooked. My friends ordered parota, veg kothu parota, and fish thali, and every dish tasted really good. After a long time, we all enjoyed such a satisfying and tasty non-veg lunch. Highly recommend!

The owner not only suggested what to order but also gave honest advice that what we picked might be too much—and told us we could always order more later if needed. I asked for my food to be extra spicy, and they made it exactly how we wanted! The food was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. What stood out most was the service. The owner personally stopped by our table to explain how to enjoy certain dishes, which was a thoughtful touch. It’s rare to see such genuine care and attention to detail. The owner truly make sure customers are satisfied and enjoy their meal. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the amazing hospitality! 🌶️🍽️

One of the best places to experience authentic South Tamil Nadu cuisine. The mutton biryani and Madurai parotta with salna are full of traditional flavors and truly take you back to your native place. The people here are very friendly and welcoming, making the overall experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who genuinely loves good food.

Zaitoon Restaurant delivered food for 200 plus persons for a private event in Mountain House. Food menu included classic South Indian chicken Biriyani, Dalcha, Chicken curry, Phieni dessert. Food quality is excellent, flavorful, fresh and hot , same food served in South Indian Muslim Marriage. Food quantity is sumptuous. Thanks Abu Khan. We really enjoyed the food and definitely order it again. Any food lovers , looking for speciality food, Zaitoon is very distinct in the market. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My family visited the restaurant for dinner. We ordered the family thali, chicken 65 biryani, paneer butter masala, Malaysia murtabak, parotta, chapati. Everything tasted very clean, traditional and flavors were well balanced. The hospitality was amazing, the staff seemed genuinely happy to serve us. Excited to come back and try more items from the menu.

The chicken biryani and veechu parotta were really delicious. It felt like enjoying food straight from our hometown after a long time. Very authentic taste.

Most authentic South Indian food you can get in Bay Area. Very good taste. Service was very good. We ordered the family thali. Although it says for 2 it is good for 4 people. Has all three meat in the Thali. Portions are big. Chicken 65 was my favorite. Will sure come again.

Placed DoorDash order for dinner from this place based on the Google reviews. Unsure if the taste of food varies weekend vs weekday. Ordered chicken 65, chicken Kothu parotta and the parotta with salan. The chicken 65 was spicy and little soggy (likely because of takeout). The salan was flavorless with only spice(heat) in the curry. The plain parotta was flaky tasty. Overall average food. It did not live upto the hyped reviews.

Ordered Chicken 65 biryani for takeout. After the first bit realized its my wost biryani ever. It was oily and not fresh at all. Felt like they just mix chicken 65 with rice cooked on side. Rice was nit fully cooked. Bad experience.

On November 18th, at around 8:45 AM, I had a very distressing experience at Dosa Hut during my order pickup. The person working at the front desk behaved in a completely unprofessional and disrespectful manner. He shouted at me in front of other customers and used inappropriate language. Several customers who witnessed the incident also agreed that it was entirely his mistake. When I asked to speak with the manager, he falsely claimed to be the manager, which was clearly untrue. His aggressive and abnormal behavior can become a serious issue for future customers if not addressed. I have also seen this same person working here at Zaitoon, which is why I am posting the review on this page as well. I have video evidence with timestamps, and I believe the store cameras would also show exactly what happened. However, he appears to be a student, and I do not want to cause unnecessary trouble for him, so I am not uploading any videos or photos publicly. This review is not against the restaurant itself — both Dosa Hut and Zaitoon serve excellent food and have been my favorite places for Indian breakfast and lunch. But the behavior of this one staff member is damaging the restaurant’s standards and the owners’ reputation. I sincerely request the owner to look into this matter and take appropriate action so that your restaurants can continue maintaining the high quality and positive reputation they are known for. However, if this behavior continues in the future, I will have no choice but to report the incident to the authorities and take the proper action.

Got order through uber eats. One of the worst kothu parotta ever. No salt and no flavor. Ordered pepper chicken dry, they sent pepper chicken gravy. I had similar experience last time , so I wanted to try out just in case last time was a one off case. Two times in a row for me. Not ordering anything from here again.
