Who hasn't eaten at Cracker Barrel? In our younger days, my husband I had our weekly dates at CB. Now I use CB to get home-cooked tasting meals I won't cook for myself...beef pot roast, fried chicken, meat loaf and the list goes on. The veggies are good. The biscuits and cornbread taste like Grandma's. I even appreciate the real salted butter. Don't forget the coffee and pie for a quick break from driving. My grandchildren have experienced and enjoyed many meals at CB. They appreciate the food, the fireplace and the gift shop.
Ordered Cracker Barrel delivery, I got the old-timers breakfast and a cup of coffee. I don’t think I ever had Cracker Barrel before lol and it was really freaking good! Definitely gonna try other things on the menu!
Really nice place with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and make you feel at home. Good food and a relaxing vibe—always brightens my day
Patrick was a terrific server. Food was good as always. We'll be back soon. We're also grateful for the opportunity to park our motorhome. It makes our first night on the road a much appreciated convenience. Thank you.
Allysa was our server and was great, we observed her helping take care of guests at two different tables that were not hers. We were impressed with that as you don't see waitresses helping each other anymore, pretty much in any restaurant. She is extremely pleasant. Therefore, we are back today and requested her section. Thank you, Alyssa. You made our dining experience a pleasure.
Stopped in for lunch before a Dr.s appt. Only had a couple minute wait to get a table. Our server - Tisha - was so great: hospitable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Was a wonderful experience. Thank you Cracker Barrel for such good service.
I, My Wife and step Children were on a mini vacation. We decided to eat here for breakfast on Sunday morning as We are from Jacksonville. We decided to have breakfast at this location for the first time. Our server (MariaLiz K.) was very courteous and got Our orders correct. I decided to have the old timers breakfast and coffee. The old timers breakfast comes with two eggs of You choice. I decided to have Mine over medium since many restaurants don't make eggs sunny side up because of health reasons. I also had grits and bacon as well. The coffee was hot and fresh as well. We will return here again the next time We visit Gainesville. Go Gators!
Went with my mother for Valentine's day breakfast and everything was fantastic.
My first time at a cracker barrel and it did not disappoint! A lot of menu options and the service is unmatched
Here you find exactly what you should expect: Southern kitchen, with rustic delicious taste, stylish served as I -as an immigrated German- love it so much. As nice as the always friendly personnel presents it, is it arranged on the plate. Surrounded by unique and matching decoration at the wall. And all this for an affordable price (!!!), even after Inflation hit so hard. Okay, now long story short ;-) "This place represents America" and "I love it!!!" P.S.: I am not payed, I am just excited. :-)
Had fried turkey, turkey was hot but sides were not. Haven't been to a cracker barrel in a while due to cold food. They're doing better
We stayed overnight in our RV and then stopped in for breakfast before leaving. It was quiet overnight and felt safe with their parking lot cameras and lights. The RV section is behind the building which helps keep normal cars out of the RV/Bus spots which is nice. For breakfast we had: The Hashbrown Casserole was a nice 'breakfast bowl' style meal with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, peppers, and onion ring style toppers. It hit the spot and I would order it again! The Cracker Barrel's Country Boy Breakfast had a garlic-buttery steak that my boyfriend didn't care for but I really enjoyed along with hashbrowns and pancakes for sides that he enjoyed. Our server was very pleasant and had a mellow and easygoing attitude. She answered our questions and made thoughtful recommendations.
Like every other Cracker Barrel that I have eaten at, this restaurant is great. I had been driving all night, I was hungry, and I did not want any fast food breakfast. The food is excellent. The service is great. The coffee is good. The food prices are reasonable. The men's restroom was clean. If you have time the store is always interesting.
Delicious food and great service. Tried the new strawberry lemonade, highly recommend, not to sweet, perfect. Fried chicken seasoned well and juicy, $10.49 for 4 pieces, two sides and biscuit. Hubby got meatloaf lunch with 2 sides, he said portion of meatloaf was small, but well cooked. Overall, great experience.
UPDATE: we have been to Cracker Barrel a couple of times in the past 6 months. Stop going so often because of the coronas. Went today and the Baba said it was delicious. My eggs were exactly the way I like them. Cora was our waitperson and she was super. Thanks Cora, 2 thumbs 👍 👍 up. 1 yr. Ago- My grandbaby wanted pancakes and bacon. The wait was not bad as we were able to tour the store. The staff was super pleasant considering the amount of people. We passed up on several other restaurants due to the wait line. Glad we stopped here. Grandbaby gave the food a thumbs up and ate it all. 3 pancakes and 4 strips of bacon. Thank you Arielle our server.
I love eating here! The service is super amazing, the servers are always pleasant. Chelicia is very friendly and was great during today’s visit. Kaitlyn is always outgoing and creating relationships with customers, making me feel welcome! My only complaint is that today the biscuits were a bit burnt on the bottom. Cortny (I think that’s how it’s spelled), was entertaining and bubbly at the cash register; the perfect ending to our great visit. Dinner at Cracker Barrel is a monthly tradition for us!
Wonderful breakfast with excellent service. Wish we had a Cracker Barrel in Palatka Florida.
Finally got my husband to try Cracker Barrel on a recent trip down south. Breakfast came early on US 95 South & he relented to stop. After a pleasant meal, he found lots of goodies he remembered from the past & that clinched it for him. Now everytime we're headed south, he wants me to find out where they are off US Hwy 95 N & S. I love their little shopping area after a great meal, can always find something cute to wear & those goodies!!!
The waitress was great. It was cold in the dining room so we asked to be seated away from the ceiling fans and next to the window. It was a mistake. We were seated beside a rowdy rude and loud bunch and my husband had just had a procedure. No fault of CB! The French toast had some black over cooked ... maybe butter.... around the edge that could have been removed before serving.
By far the best cracker barrel location we have been to in awhile! Service was great, food was hot and delicious. It was my first time trying their breakfast and my husband tried the fried pork chop special, both were 5 star worthy. We love that they serve alcohol now! Great experience, we will be back!
There is a lot to be said about service at a Cracker Barrel. My girlfriend and I rented 2 Airbnbs in the area (The Loft and Lake Butler). Relaxation and away from the grind is what we were looking for. There are 2 Cracker Barrel’s to go to each about 25 minutes from each location mentioned above. This one receives absolute 5 stars for cleanliness, superb customer service, personality, friendliness, attention to detail, great food made correctly, and as much as I could possibly say to make this review more than it is already. Price for food was fairly priced as well making everything perfect on this visit in Gainesville. If you are reading this review you will be pleasantly happy with going here. The other one in Lake city I would not visit at all, which is why we ended up here with a Gold Card for the worst service we have ever had in any restaurant, so make sure not to go there. Gainesville Cracker Barrel is the place to be and rates more than 5 stars in our book. Thanks for a lovely and pleasurable dinner.
The food is good and there's plenty to shop around for also to add to your journey thru life....
First time dining here. The food was excellent and the customer service was very good. Despite how busy they were, they handled everything efficiently and made sure everyone was served.
There’s a specific kind of magic in the consistency Cracker Barrel offers. As full-time RVers, this isn’t just a restaurant to us; it’s a sanctuary. We stop here constantly, and there is nothing quite like that early morning walk from the rig to grab a coffee. It’s quiet, grounded, and feels incredibly safe—a rare "home base" feeling when you’re always on the move. A huge thank you to Cracker Barrel for remaining truly original and one-of-a-kind. Your support for the RV community doesn't go unnoticed. You make life on the road feel a little more poetic and a lot more welcoming
Food is very good. I like the fact that it doesn't change you know what you're going to get. They did some changing in their menu and logo.No one liked it so they've pretty much changed back.I will say the portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller, and i'm not a big eater. Was very surprised
My husband loves this restaurant, this was our first date. It's always a great home cooked meal experience. We order the breakfast, no matter the time of the day.
I've always loved Cracker Barrel! The gift store is fantastic and reasonably priced. Of course the food is always delicious! I don't think their green beans are the same as a few years ago. But everything is always hot and delicious! The staff friendly and ready to help and please.
New Menu items were delicious, and while shopping I had a employee named Ben go above and beyond to help me one on with with several different things. From checking inventory to digging the item I wanted out and scanning it to let me know the price! Bagging up all items to ensure nothing broke. Excellent customer service. 5 Star 🌟 for Ben!
Had a great dining experience! Came here for lunch with my family of 6. We were politely seated immediately and our waitress came soon after to begin taking our drink and menu orders. She was kind, professional, and checked on us regularly. The food was hot and fresh with outstanding presentation. The honey butter southern fried chicken was a hit at our table! Would happily come back to visit. Thanks all!
I was in Gainesville for work and my husband brought the whole entire crew up to visit! So of course we had to make a pit stop at Cracker Barrel! We all love the food and atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and amazing! And the food is so delicious! My favorite pecan pancakes keeps my mouth watering. My children love the famous grandpas chicken and gravy! We all enjoyed the iconic rocking chairs in front. I highly recommend!

Had a wonderful breakfast wonderful experience and highly recommend. Service was great and the food was really good.
It was a very slow day. Not too many customers, yet the food was extremely slow coming out, biscuits and cornbread took as long as the food even though we requested them to come out while we waited, and had to ask our waitress for drink refills. Bill was incorrect, but quickly fixed so that was nice, but just another ding against the very average service received.
There must've been only 1 chef in the kitchen because the dining area wasn't that crowded and service was really slow. The hashbrown casserole was overcooked, but the country fried chicken was perfect. Server was very attentive and kept us updated.
The food is really tasty and full of flavor. The service is a bit slow, but there were a lot of people, so maybe that was the reason. Prices are a little high in my opinion, but it’s worth it — everything was delicious
Heard so much about this Food place ,,, Really like the Ambiance,,, Service was too good ,,,, I like the shopping store which has beautiful collection of novelty things ,,, Only thing which I didn’t like was the Dish I ordered—Fried Chicken and Meat loaf ,,, Meat loaf was good but Fried Chicken was awfully filled with oil ... I Didn’t like the preparation of that .... Breads specifically Corn Bread was good ... One strange thing was that they presented the Check before we finished 🙄
The maple bacon glazed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, turnip greens and cornbread at Cracker Barrel was delicious. The serving size was more than I could eat at one sitting, so I ended up bringing the remaining food home. The price for the meal was very reasonable, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re eating inside of a home nestled in the countryside.
Cora was a joy to meet. Loved listening to her stories of 26 years of working with cracker barrel ! Great waitress !
Very good country food but if you do not get to a Cracker Barrel before 7pm and want fried chicken, you can forget about it.
I had the New York Steak with fried eggs and hash browns. Everything was cooked correctly, but the garlic butter they put on the steak tasted a little off. I typically enjoy garlic butter, but this particular one they use wasn't at all satisfying. Overall, I always have adequate customer service, and look forward to trying something else on the menu.
The service was very good food was fine. I had an issue with small cartons of milk. Two cartons were bad and curdled when I poured it into my coffee. Easily rectified, I switched to tea. Store was clean from what I could see; nothing out of the ordinary.
Great breakfast while traveling between Tennessee and Florida. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. If you're looking for a good old fashioned breakfast, this is it.

Server was excellent however the kitchen doesn't know what their doing baby carrot in dumpling shrimp that shouldn't have been on the plate and steak rare rare Instead of medium rare but server was great with kids and attentive when needed Over all thanks to the server gave it decent rating
We try to hit a Cracker Barrel every time we travel and did tonight as well. This location was the only one we’ve been to that wasn’t packed. Our waitress was wonderful. She was sweet but not great at bringing the biscuits out before our food or refilling drinks or getting napkins we asked for. The food took over an hour to get out to us. We typically like our entire visit to be an hour since we have another 4 hours to drive to get home. She was apologetic but the food cold for some things and hot for others. My husbands mashed potatoes were ice cold and asking for fresh ones would have probably taken another half hour that we didn’t have . The register was the same super slow.
The one dish we got , the campfire beef, fabulous. I got the early dinner, the whole reason I got it was because it was small. She then informs me it will be 2 pieces of chicken and charges me double, because it was too early for the early dinner. Ok I didn't want all thatch food, so ok I get it. It was the driest chicken and mashed potatoes I have ever had. I had to ask for gravy and some kind of dipping sauce. Nasty all the way on that meal. Not consistent at all. How can 1 meal be great and the other seemed left over, not saying it was but it was soooo dry. I couldn't even eat it and she forgot the gravy till the food was cold. No all the way disappointed just mostly
We were disappointed in the breakfast menu. We just wanted a light breakfast like eggs, bacon & toast. All of their choices included biscuits & gravy and or pancakes, which was way more than what we wanted. If you're hungry at breakfast this may be a good choice, BUT for light eaters I would not recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Our food was okay, but nothing special. We only ate half of it and to top it all off our server got our bill wrong.
This Cracker Barrel was a little disappointing. Overall it was messy, with a lot of food on the floor and tables that needed cleaning. I watched a waitress clean a table and swipe the food onto the floor and just left it. She didn’t come back and sweep it up. Waitress asked us if we wanted biscuits and cornbread. Yes. She never brought them until food arrived. Why? Why not bring them to us before food arrives. We waited unusually long and she missed an item I ordered and I had to wait. Wife ordered a salad with ranch. Waitress brought her a thimble full container of ranch. We had to ask for more. I like Cracker Barrel but this one is not that great. Food was good however.
Ocala & Gainesville Cracker barrel management and a few of the servers could use some training. Last 3 times at Gainesville average time getting my food 30min to 1hour 15min. Ocala food is prepared poorly more time than good. Service I'll give it a C+. Spring hills Cracker barrel 👌. Ps: what's with no more black eye peas on New Year day. Rumors getting away from tradition because it's a southern thing. Really
I understand if you're a new employee. However, in any job paying attention to detail or instructions is important. My order was explained several times yet still our server returned with manager as if she's confused! I explained again and I felt server should've made sure we were on same page. Then we received the wrong receipt and after waiting 15 mins for manager to correct before finally leaving.
I'm not sure if it's me or cracker barrel, I never seem to get great service and food anymore. I use too always didn't matter which one I stopped at it was always a great time, not anymore. The store manager JOSHUA did a good job trying to apize me But i think the problem is bigger than both of us.like I said bad service, cold food under cooked breakfast, maybe it's me i know how it should be done ( my wife and I both have been in the restaurant service)i don't understand these people wanting big tips but can't remember to bring cream with coffee or spoon ,not paying attention to the order And getting it the way it was ordered
I used to love going to Cracker Barrel but the past few visits, at different locations, have been an unexpected let down. I wanted to keep the faith and give CB one more chance so I took my 6 yr old with me (because my husband and older daughter refuse to go anymore). She ordered the kid's shrimp meal and I ordered my go-to: grilled chicken tenderloins, carrots and hash brown casserole. It took over 35-40 minutes to get our food. Didn't realize that the biscuits no longer came out before your entree, so you could ignore the hunger pains. Nope, everything at once now. The shrimp were battered but they included the tails. Luckily, my daughter is smart enough to not eat the tail. My tenders were sub-par. The saddest part was what I was most excited about was the hash brown casserole and it was disgusting. I put ketchup on it and it got worse! I let the waitress know it was terrible and I was able to get a different side (which came out immediately). Unfortunately, I've decided that was the last time for me and CB. We ended up being there for well over an hour. 2 people. Not that much food...no thanks.
My mom, my sister, my daughter, and myself decided to have breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. When the food arrived my order was missing part of it and the food was lukewarm. The portion sizes were also very inconsistent. Upon requesting the problem to be fixed the waitress went and got the manager which was not requested. The manager then just brushed everything off and said that what we got was the way it was supposed to be. I then contacted guest services and was told that I would be sent two complimentary cards two compensate. They only sent one. This entire organization is poor. From the food quality to the service to guest services everything was just lacking.
The food is not bad. Service is quick and everyone has been friendly. Honestly by Cracker Barrel standards it would be 4 star if not for the fact every time we come to this location we find crusty dishes, 3/3 times this year. Would go back again if they could fix this! Attached photos from my last visit.
Appropriate expectations are necessary before dining at a Cracker barrel. Still, this location managed to go below average. The server overcharged us. Simple mistake, no worries, but the young cashier was clueless to fix it. Manager is summoned and argues with me. Seriously? This was the final boss i didn't expect today. She goes to get a menu to prove me wrong but... she was mistaken. No apology and just expressed her frustration. Wow lady, good luck.
Went there for Thanksgiving dinner; the turkey was good but the portion is so small the they don’t even give two full slices! The stuffing and the rest of side were not tasty. The green beans were blends.

We went to have breakfast before another appointment in Gainesville, Fl. My husband wanted to order an omlet, but to our surprise Cracker Barrel DOES not have omlets. The waitress was asked about this and she replied Cracker Barrel does not have omlets and they were not the menu. My husband ordered the Hasbrown Casserole which was undercooked and cold. My grits were undercooked. The biscuits were great! Our sausage and bacon was good, cooked the way we like it. Coffee refills was tops!! But some improvement on the other issues need to be considered. We will NOT go back for breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
I never stop at Cracker Barrel and probably will never again. Took 30 minutes to bring a simple salad that I ordered to go. When the hostess brought the bag out the my food was spilled to one side of the container in a bag because she didn't have common sense to hold the bag like it had food in it not a shirt or something. I opted for a refund. Very poor customer service and instead of the manager giving me a discount or comping the meal she made excuses for the lack of customer service. Either train your employees better or get better employees that actually care about customer service. I felt bad for the girl working the register, she seemed to be the only one with a clue for customer service. She probably deserves the managers job and put the manager back on the register.
While visiting with friend in Gainesville, GA we decided to dine at the Cracker Barrel and we were seated promptly and waited on the server, she took our drink order and meal, we patiently waited on the food to arrive, we noticed that other guests had been seated after us and were provided with the meal they ordered. I noticed the manager passing my table and I asked her about my situation, she said something about having 5 cooks at 2 different locations and they were cooking meals, she offered no apology for our wait or made any kind of attempt to check on our meal. We waited in excess of 45 minutes and decided to take our business elsewhere. I am a member of the Rewards program and have been visiting Cracker Barrel in excess of 10 years, I will never visit this Cracker Barrel again.
Food and service generally seem to be declining. Food came out wrong and some of it cold. Some meals forgotten. Took almost 50 min to get food. Had to ask for everything, biscuits, silverware, etc. This has been a trend. Not going back. Not the Cracker Barrel my family had come to love.
I ordered from Cracker Barrel in Gainesville, FL tonight. I've been sick the past week and needed some good, delicious food. I was very much looking forward to my meal from Cracker Barrel, but I was no longer looking forward to it once it arrived. I ordered the meatloaf (which I always get) but the meatloaf was so greasy it was sliding from side to side on the take out carton. I also ordered the hash brown casserole but could not bring myself to even try it when I opened it because it was floating in grease (picture attached). I've ordered and had it delivered as well as picked up food from Cracker Barrel in Gainesville, but I have NEVER been so upset with the food as I was tonight. I spent almost $40 on food I could not eat. I ate the biscuits because they were good but I could not bring myself to eat the grease laden food, especially after being sick for over a week. I doubt I will be able to order from this Cracker Barrel again.
The ordering process was horrendous. The employee answering the phones was rude and disrespectful. She was incorrect about what could be ordered on Fridays. I had to call a second time after I went online to verify the menu. Totally disappointed with Cracker Barrel because of this one employee and once I arrived at home to eat a major negative. Nothing was touched from the meal before taking this photo. What an insult to have as a meal from Cracker Barrel.
Are used to love to go to Cracker Barrel. Now that the CEO is woke and trying to change it I’ve done. I’ll never go back to cracker barrel and I’m gonna tell all of my friends not to go because of the woke CEO stick to cooking and stay the hell out of politics.
This was a weird experience… we put our name in and then the hostess told us someone changed tables so they gave our table away… not a big deal but then when she sat us she said they were “out of silverware and we’d have to ask our waitress”. Weird but still not a big deal. Then I think they forgot to put our order in… which wouldn’t be a big deal but after waiting an hour, our food was actually laughable. It looked terrible, the bacon was all white and floppy to the point the kids wouldn’t touch it, and the eggs squirted actual water so bad that it covered everything on the plate in a quarter inch of water like maybe they were frozen?? and the fresh fruit was frozen with actual ice chunks. We’ve eaten at other Cracker Barrel’s and never expected an issue… the waitress was very nice and doing her best but the actual food was terrible. The bathrooms were also super dirty and gross :( it wasn’t crowded and was a bizarre experience. The waitress saw how bad the eggs were and took that off the bill but it was still over $75 for really terrible food. Wouldn’t go to this location.
Well ordered the French toast it didn’t come as I would have hoped for especially what they show on the site it is nothing even close. It was like a fried thin slice of burnt bread just terrible couldn’t find my receipt even thought I paid by CC and I couldn’t bring it in for a refund. I won’t be back.
Well. Monday night we stopped in for a bite. The wait for our food was terribly long. Waitress apologized and explained to us about the previous large group who had just left and the kitchen being overwhelmed. So we waited 30 mins after ordering for our food to arrive. We picked items with the clock icon because those indicated "quick meals." Quick it was not. But that wasn't the biggest problem. My #1 issue is my child being served raw burger meat in her barrel sliders meal. I thought the red seeping through the burger bun was ketchup, but we ordered a plain cheese burger. So, I sliced it in half. The inside was cold to the touch, the outside was burned. Check out the photos. The waitress was apologetic, but we weren't going to wait for another burger to come back raw. So she insisted on bringing something else. So we ordered chicken fingers to go. Pretty sure those chicken fingers came off someone else's order because they were tabled in less than 2 minutes. Disgusted and disappointed.
We waited over an hour for our food and the coffee was cold. Once our food arrived we noticed that one of the meals was missing ingredients, apparently they were out of those items and did not inform us. It was supposed to have hashbrowns, crispy bacon, tomatoes and friend onions. What was given was hash browns with a glob of cheese and undercooked bacon. The smoked sausage was not given. When asked about it the waitress said that is all that they had and she figured that I wanted meat so she gave what she thought was a good replacement. The pancakes were far from round and looked thrown together. Also, the silverware was dirty. We should have left like many others did. One elderly couple didn't even wait for their food to come and another family left after taking a few bites. I reached out to Cracker Barrel thru their website and was offered ONE free meal after spending over $70.00. I would not recommend this location and frankly after receiving one free meal voucher I'd likely never support this restaurant.
DISORGANIZED CHAOS IN THE KITCHEN: Biscuits were mushy dough inside. Ordered Chicken & Dumplings & my boyfriend ordered the fried fish offered on Fridays. The waitress told us the Chicken & Dumplings would take 40 minutes to prepare. I asked that my boyfriend's fish also be held up so they would be delivered to the table @ the same time. They went ahead & brought his fish & 25 minutes later brought out Chicken & Dumplings, then I had to wait 10 more minutes on fried okra. The afternoon manager that came on around 3pm strolled by & asked how the food was, & we explained the above & he said "Oh, I hadn't been informed." Only thing he offered was to bring more biscuits, however we were finished & were traveling. Awful experience. I've been a huge fan of Cracker Barrel since I was a teen. We are retired & travel, however I may never go back to a Cracker Barrel. The problem was not the waitress, but poor management & the kitchen not doing it's job.
