This place is absolutely gorgeous. Went here for my sisters birthday and we brought our service dogs and they were so kind and welcoming. The dogs loved them and we did too! Food was amazing! The service was spectacular and the hibachi was beautiful!

The dinner of my dreams! The tempura shrimp was out of this world! The plates are huge and filling and the drinks are insane! The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff was super friendly. Such a fun and awesome night. My wife and I can't wait to go back!

It was a rather interesting restaurant to visit. I've been to quite a few in Connecticut, however, this one had the services of Habachi's! This was very interesting! I had a gender reveal invitation and ended up visiting.....it was nice, I plan to revisit with my girlfriend. Also, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very exciting.

Good Asian fusion joint. If I have to match an Asian fusion equivalence of Cheesecake Factory, this place would be it. All of our food was great and the Scorpio bowl was relatively strong. The salmon avocado roll was very good. The salmon was very fresh. The yellowtail scallion is standard. My favorite dish is probably the Thai wings since it was super crunchy and crispy. The toppings for it went so well with it (could do with a sauce though). Rock shrimp salad was also good. Price is a smidge high but we knew that going in. I would recommend sitting inside because we kept getting bees while outdoor dining.

I've been ordering from Koma regularly for years now and have received the same great quality and taste since day one. I sometimes order wok (like General Tso's chicken) or hibachi (the salmon is great!), but most commonly order sushi ("Classic Rolls"), which has always been fresh and tasteful. After trying other sushi in the area, I believe Koma's to be some of the (if not THE) best. Their pricing is competitive and their rolls have a lot of substance - For example, I've ordered shrimp tempura at other restaurants and receive just the breaded piece of shrimp rolled in rice. Koma adds other ingredients within the roll and on the outside, which greatly improves the taste (and it just looks better). I prefer takeout since I live nearby, and the wait staff has been a bit hit or miss in my dine-in experiences (and it can be quite empty at times); but the atmosphere is good - its a nice restaurant. I highly recommend ordering from Koma if you haven't already!

My first time visiting this place. I tried their Miso soup, a Philadelphia Roll and this was the dish that I ordered from the lunch menu. Everything was delicious! I will definitely visit this place again.

Koma knocks it out of the sushi boat.. No really they have the largest sushi boat I have ever seen. Something that's really important to say about sushi that is the fish was very fresh! The flavor combos on the pieces were spot on. I've had regular sea salt edamame but tonight they add just a little chilli jam to them Also I discovered a new favorite thing The Rock shrimp which is tempura shrimp with homemade spicy Japanese sauce. Also sampled some Gyoza Japanese style pork dumplings. Yum yum Then the entertainment of the Hibachi started. They brought out the big guns like fresh lobster tails, scallops, shrimp and steak. Of course you had your rice, lo mein noodles and veggies. Fun Hibachi Cooks come out and entertain you! I got to say I love that they use a lot of fresh garlic!!! I washed it all down with a Blue Margarita and a mojito!!

I have been a customer at Koma for years for both dine in and take out. Never had a negative experience. The food is consistently delicious. Atmosphere is very nice. Always clean. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Highly recommend Koma, especially for great sushi and hibachi.

The Happy Hour at Koma is the best in West Hartford! Fresh sushi and other small bites, great drinks, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. This is our neighborhood go-to restaurant. Jason, if you see this, please know that Roberto is the most welcoming bartender/host in town.

I came here with my friend after playing pickleball. I ordered a tuna avocado roll and a draft beer. Very satisfying. The bartender Will is personable and attentive, and the vibes at the bar are vibes. Would recommend: chill atmosphere😎

Koma Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi offers good-quality food and a great overall dining experience. The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and the flavors are consistently well balanced. The steakhouse items are also well prepared and satisfying. That said, the prices are on the higher side, which slightly limits how often I’d visit. Also, it’s important to note that happy hour is only available at the bar, not at regular tables, which can be a bit disappointing if you’re planning to sit elsewhere. Overall, excellent food and atmosphere, but the pricing and limited happy hour seating keep it at 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely worth trying, especially if you can grab a seat at the bar during happy hour.

Mostly it’s a hibachi/sushi restaurant. Everything we ordered, came fast and was delicious. Servers were very fast and nice to our family. Cool interior vibe. Reason for 4 stars because I was expecting more menu options other than any typical sushi place. Gotta say, the Beef Nagimaki is worth to try. The Lyche margaritas were good too.

If Hibachi had a standard, and is the 'expected experience' Koma kinda nails it. This place is great, and if it's your first ever time having hibachi, this place is awesome; if you want a more superb experience - check out Sakura (Glastonbury or South Windsor). Service: - The hibachi cooks are always fun, throwing veges at you or spraying sake in your mouth, you'll get your typical hibachi entertainment here! - The waitress we had was very accommodating and she seemed new; you could tell she was trying her best and was very attentive. Though she spilled a drink, it was completely understandable (it was extremely crowded at that specific time). - Waitress ran out to my car to make sure the tip I left was correct, that's crazy! (In a good way!) Food: - Food is pretty good, I was a bit upset with how little lobster tail I got. The steak could have been more rare for what I asked for, but all the food was quite comparable to Sakura, it's all done in front of you so what you see is literally what you get. - Hibachi includes rice of choice, meat, salad OR soup. Most Hibachi places I have been to offer salad and soup. - If you like noodles, YOU MUST add the noodles to the hibachi dinner ($3.95? extra); The noodles are almost a must have for any hibachi dinner - these are not your normal noodles trust me. - Use the YUM YUM sauce, it's almost liquid gold. - Quantity is in no despair, you will probably go home with leftovers. You can easily portion to 2 meals. - At about ~$35 for a hibachi dinner, it is a bit steeper than other hibachi dinners, especially with a combo dinner, but ~$17.50 a meal, that's not bad! Drinks: - I had the Samurai drink; and while I really don't like gin, it was actually really good. Imagine a 7-up or sprite! Other: - It may be quite loud for younger kids and especially toddlers/babies. - No birthday celebration :(

This is a great place to grab food on the weekends or even on week days. I have got both take out and dined in and I would say I liked the service and the food both times. The Food is fresh and tasty almost all the time, the portion sizes are on point. It’s my go-to spot for Japanese Food. The the hibachi plates are my favorite. Especially the vegetable hibachi. Plate looks smaller in this pic but it’s actually bigger in real life, lol.

They hold a special place in my heart. My fiancé and I had our first date here. They never miss on the sushi. While I love them, the only reason I am giving a 4 star is because I have had better sushi elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean it’s not good sushi or habachi here. I still stop in from when in the area.

Recommendation: Lychee Martiny, Spider Roll. . Detailed review: Today my wife just finished her GMAT and the score makes her happy. She asks me to go out for dinner and willing to be a sponsor for the dinner. Now I am happy too 😃 So I decided to go to this restaurant. We passed this place many times but never have a chance to get in. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30, and there were many available tables. We ordered a Lychee Martiny and a Maitai for drinks, a Fuji Mountain for Starter, Sashimi Entree, and a Spider Roll. - Lychee Martiny: it's good, sweet, I like it. - Maitai: it's okay. You should not expect an excellent or exceptional Maitai. - Fuji Mountain: they dressed it with Mayo but for me, I'd like less Mayo. So I suggest that you should share the dish. It's good, but if you eat it alone, you may feel a bit boring at the end. - Sashimi Entree: a few pieces of sashimi are very fishy (in a bad way) and appeared not to be skinned as well as they should be. Definitely not authentic as the restaurant is a Chinese place in disguise of a Japanese restaurant. The sashimi here is served with rice on the side and picked radish, and is plated on grated carrots instead of traditional white radish. Overall is good except for the yellowtail - Spider Roll: this is the best dish overall. It's crunchy and good. So for the food, I give it 4/5. Service: 5/5 (friendly, attentive) Atmosphere: 4/5. My leg room is a bit small. I sat at the booth, but I accidentally hit my wife's leg many times. When you get in the restaurant, you will see that they have the same theme with Tao Restaurant but not that luxury yet. . I think this restaurant is good for a regular dinner. If you have a special event, I'd recommend you to try out other places that I've reviewed. 🙂

Would I recommend? Yes. The food wasn't the most enjoyable, however it was thoroughly entertaining seeing the chef cook in front of us, he was really good. I chose the 'Hibachi' seating, with this I ordered chicken and steak. Neither the chicken nor steak had much flavor, however, the steak was very dry and tough (this may be due to my asking for it to be well done) - I didn't even finish it. Many people also complained about the quantity of food, It was okay for me though. My friend complained about the shrimp being hard, feeling as if it wasn't cooked properly. I think you should try it yourself, they have a large menu, you may find something very tasty.

Services was lousy sadly our server forgot many things. We were a party of 8 most of us ordered steak but the portion of steak we each got was crazy for the price even for myself I got 4 little cubes of steak. The cooks don’t seem to really engage with you as much as other places so it wasn’t exciting at all. Feeling a little ripped off first and last time there.

The food is great, but one of the bartenders lied and said happy hour didn’t start at 2pm on Saturday Nov 1 when I got there at 244 PM. Today when I called to clarify, the front desk person they said it’s Sat 2-5, but M-F 4-6… it was even written in the menu but I didn’t want to make a scene so I just ordered and paid whatever price she wanted to charge that day. It’s the principle of the matter. I won’t be back honestly it leaves a sour taste in my mouth to have such poor customer service. There was no need to lie? Edit: my companion just told me they also did that to the other person of color there that day, so honestly maybe they’re racist.
