Honestly I couldn't speak more highly of the food here at this restaurant it is phenomenal and I could not recommend it any higher if you're looking to place an order for GrubHub or something this is a perfect thing it will be at your house so piping hot and tasting so good you'll be ordering it once a week. Me and my wife enjoyed every bite and got The chance to meet the owner and they're such great people. I will definitely be coming back again and again
How have I not known about Jaiwai Thai Kitchen just off the square in Georgetown? I love Thai food and Jaiwai hit the spot. I was too hungry even to take a picture of my food. The cheese sticks app were great and I love me some basil fried rice. I’ll have to be back to try more dishes.
I got the pineapple fried rice and it was delicious. I’m not from Texas and where I’m from, the Asian food is really good, so I can be super picky about it, but this place did not disappoint. I ordered a level 4 spicy and I’d say it was closer to a 3, but I know that varies from place to place. The portion was large and it tasted great. I also got Thai tea (I ordered takeout) and it was in a plastic bottle with no ice, which I thought was actually really smart. It made it so the tea wasn’t watered down and I just added ice later.
pad see ewe - exquisite. green curry fried rice - sensational. tiger cry - divine. spring rolls & dumplings - phenomenal.
At Jaiwai Thai Kitchen, the beef pad Thai is nothing short of a gastronomic revelation, a symphony of flavors and textures that catapults the dish into the realm of culinary artistry. Let's delve into the intricacies that make this experience truly extraordinary. The beef, expertly sliced and seared, embodies a perfection seldom achieved. Its exterior boasts a tantalizing caramelization, providing a delightful contrast to the interior's juicy tenderness. The marriage of these textures amplifies the overall enjoyment of the dish, creating a dynamic interplay that keeps taste buds intrigued with each bite. What sets Jaiwai's pad Thai apart is the ingenious choice of noodles. Far from being a mere alternative, these noodles act as the culinary backbone, absorbing the rich, nuanced flavors of the sauce. Their broad surface area provides an ideal canvas for the sauce to cling to, ensuring that every strand is infused with the delightful medley of sweet, savory, and tangy notes. Speaking of the sauce, it's a masterpiece in itself. A carefully calibrated blend of ingredients results in a harmonious symphony that elevates the entire dish. The sweet undertones dance gracefully with the savory elements, while a hint of tanginess keeps the palate engaged. It's a flavor profile that lingers, inviting you to savor each bite with newfound appreciation. The addition of crushed peanuts introduces a delightful crunch, a textural contrast that enhances the overall sensory experience. It's a small but crucial detail that showcases the chef's commitment to perfection, ensuring that no element is overlooked in the pursuit of culinary excellence. Beyond the culinary marvels, the ambiance at Jaiwai Thai Restaurant is a journey into the heart of Thailand. The decor, carefully curated to reflect the cultural richness of the region, creates an immersive dining environment. The warmth of the surroundings is matched only by the genuine hospitality of the staff. The staff, a team of dedicated professionals, goes beyond the call of duty. Their enthusiasm and knowledge of the menu not only guide patrons through the culinary adventure but also make them feel like cherished guests. It's this personal touch that transforms a meal into an experience, leaving a lasting impression that goes beyond the flavors on the plate. In conclusion, Jaiwai Thai Restaurant's beef pad Thai is not merely a dish; it's a culinary odyssey. The meticulous preparation, the infusion of diverse flavors, and the welcoming atmosphere converge to create an experience that transcends the ordinary. If I had to drive across the country for a single meal, Jaiwai would undoubtedly be the destination – a haven for those seeking not just food, but an unforgettable journey through the vibrant world of Thai cuisine.
We have been hitting this Thai restaurant for years, maybe under its third ownership? The food has maintained its delicious taste, clean look and good prices. For some reason Thursday the service was very slow. Nevertheless, we will go back. We had shrimp Hawaiian, papaya salad and chicken with veggies. We usually have soup and pad thai but we took it easy. Great place to eat. Update: 12/2019. Hit the local place again. The servers are very friendly, smile a lot, and keep the place clean. The food again was spot on. Clean, great presentation, and tasty. We had an assortment of veggie dish, larb with beef and garlic chicken, in addition to other appetizers. Definitely going back. Updated: 12/2020: Visited again. The tables are spaced apart. I think they can accommodate five parties. I am not sure who owns the place as it looked like new people again. We ordered beef ginger and yellow curry as entrees, plus golden bag appetizers along with tom yum soup. The food was good. The pot of soup comes in a bowl now, not a fire burning pot. The service was good. Update: Sept 10, 2021. Yummers. Everything was great. The portions appear to be larger. The papaya salad was a beautiful plate. Update: Dec 2022. Still great place to eat.
Absolutely delicious!!! So authentic and flavorful! Came here for dinner with family and was shocked how good it was. So full of flavor and colors. Staff was very nice and courteous. Can't wait to come back again!
One of the best Thai restaurants ever, such flavorful food. Be daring & try a different dish each time, your taste buds will thank you. Get there early for space is limited & lines are usually long around lunchtime. Also, the place closes around 3 or 5 for a Fiesta & reopens later for the evening count until around 9 p.m Check the website to be sure.
Best Thai food in the area. My wife and I have tried several restaurants both in and around Georgetown. This is absolutely the best. Very pleased with the experience and will be back.
I have been stopping here for Thai food for probably 6 months now and these folks regularly treat me with kindness and make me great food. They are the best Thai food in Georgetown, by a wide margin. The people are great, the food is great. What more could I want? The guys Mack and Tom are both always super kind and personable. I have some spicy noodles in my seat next to me as I write this review. I sincerely can not wait to get home to grub.
I’ve been living in the area for about 9 years now and this restaurant has always been one of my main choices when I want something delicious and local. The staff is always so kind and the food is always amazing. I recommend the Larb with chicken or the pad Thai with pork and you always have to get a Thai tea of course! Their Thai tea is one of the best that I’ve tried and I’ve been told by an employee that they may start having boba 👀👀 10/10 everything! (Especially the Thai tea oh my goodness)
Good food and friendly service. Pretty ordinary location with some older tables and chairs that the owners say are scheduled to be replaced along with starting some new lunch features. I wish them well!
My daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and it is very important that her food be gluten free with no cross contamination. After placing online order I received a call from the restaurant and was told what measures would be taken to prevent cross contamination and asking if that was acceptable. I was so impressed with this level of attention. Thank you so much!!
Just went here with my boyfriend. We loved it! The food is delicious and it comes out fast. They have a large selection of gluten free options that are clearly marked on the menu and if you go during happy hour you get free egg rolls and dumplings. I really recommend it. The sauces and food taste so fresh and homemade and the staff is very sweet and knowledgeable about gluten free. Wonderful experience.
We went to Ichiro in Georgetown last night for sushi and it was absolutely amazing! We sat right at the sushi bar, which was such a fun experience. We got to watch the chefs prepare everything fresh in front of us. We made reservations ahead of time but honestly they weren’t needed. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night and there was plenty of seating available. Our waiter Arturo was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made the whole evening feel welcoming and relaxed. The food was outstanding. We kept ordering more rolls and pieces, even though we were already full because everything tasted so good we couldn’t stop! We’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend this spot for great sushi and a great vibe.
This restaurant is a hidden GEM. We had Bagget (spelling) whose service was FANTASTIC! The food was incredible to match the service. I’m confused why they gave a TV in the place because it’s more high end vibes then let’s watch football but other then that the place has so much thought put into every inch! The designer did a great job as no detail was left untouched. We will be back as this is a new favorite spot for us!
Always love our experience at Ichiro! Love their lobster roll, fried rice and variety of cocktail choices! We always enjoy the live entertainment as well 😍
I really love the atmosphere, the food has always been on point. The quality is really fresh. When my husband and I had family in from out of town the owner personally came to check in and see how our experience was going which is really cool. Definitely the best sushi in Georgetown.
My absolute favorite spot in a wide area north of Austin. Elegant, peaceful and great innovative fresh food. I love their lunch tapas. Today we shared 5 items/courses at our table. Three were new (seafood bisque, tuna t, and shogun roll) and two were repeats( Gyoza, hamachi). Everything excellent. We enjoy with a beer, a cocktail, an unfiltered sake or a glass of wine. BUT they need to update the printed menu! Once I received the detailed receipt, our bill was $11.50 more than the printed menu prices. The server said nothing nor was there a code to scan that might have reflected the new prices. I am a loyal customer but was quite displeased when I got home and compared my receipt to the online menu.
A fabulous birthday dinner with friends. The hospitality makes you feel like old friends. Matisse was a fabulous waiter. Sushi was fresh & innovative rolls. Beef & shrimp teppan-yaki was outstanding. In addition they have a fabulous wine list.
The vibe was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were all so kind and friendly. You can tell they really care about the food and the people. It’s one of those places you just want to keep coming back to. It's definitely a new favorite. If you’re craving something tasty and comforting, this is the spot! Arturo and Alex were amazing!!
OK, so it’s not fair to post a plate that’s empty, but that should say enough order. The Dino rib is the absolute best I’ve ever had in my entire life. Food service and atmosphere are fantastic. You will not be disappointed. Please come check this place out. Read my other reviews you’ll know I don’t mess around when it comes to stuff.
Hidden Gem for Lunch! My wife and I stumbled upon Ichiro Asian Bistro & Wine Bar today for lunch and were absolutely blown away! We visited during their 12-3pm lunch tapas menu and were surprised to find ourselves the only diners. Don't let that fool you – this place is a hidden gem! While their regular menu prices appear to be on the higher side, the lunch tapas menu offers incredible value. Every single sushi roll we tried was exceptional – honestly, some of the best sushi rolls we've ever had! We were so impressed with the quality and freshness. Our server was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance with smooth jazz playing, and we learned they have live jazz on Friday nights (we were there on a Saturday). If I had to offer any constructive feedback, the shrimp tempura was good, but I felt the shrimp inside the breading was a bit light. However, this was a minor point in an otherwise fantastic meal. We were pleasantly surprised that our bill, including everything in the attached photos, was under $100. For the quality and quantity of food, this was an absolute steal. We highly recommend checking out Ichiro Asian Bistro & Wine Bar, especially for their lunch tapas menu! We can't wait to go back! Follow me on Google maps for more highly detailed reviews of restaurants and other places in the GREAT state of Texas and beyond!
We were so pleasantly surprised to have our first dinner at Ichiro. Big shout out to Matiss who was an extremely attentive server, he made suggestions, and was a very genuinely nice person. Attaching pictures but we loved everything we ordered. Lamb, duck, tempura cheesecake. Next time we have to try the sushi. Thank you, 5 out of 5, highly recommend.
Ichiro Asian Bistro and Wine Bar is a gem and one of the few restaurants on the north side of Austin that deserve the accolades it is given. The food was carefully prepared, the space is fabulous, and our server (Rueven) was first rate - attentive, entertaining, and gracious. Go. Have a great time. Celebrate the wonders of Asian fusion.
Excellent service! Fine dining experience. Daniel surprised the bday girl with his own drink creation and it was amazing. Tequila old fashioned. It’s hard to find a place that will seat 12 ppl. Live jazz was great. I’ve never had unfiltered sake. It was really good. Sushi was great! Able to accommodate allergies. Kid friendly to an extent….if kids can stay seated but there are cloth table cloths. There were several children that did great there. Parking was easy, a little walk but valet is available.
4 of us came in about 30 minutes before closing. We knew we would need to order quickly so as not to keep the staff from getting off work. The waiter was very nice, personable, and engaging. The food was so good the drinks were delicious. I just want to say thanks for a memorable meal!
I love the food here, but I miss when they used to use normal plates. Now they serve everything in to-go containers, which: 1. Makes me feel like we get less food than when it was served on regular plates. 2. Takes away from the presentation noow everything is just shoved into a to-go container.
We enjoyed it and will be back. We had green curry (spice level 4) and shrimp spring rolls. I loved the peanut sauce/dip of spring roll, but they had been prepared earlier because the rice wrap was a little tough. The green curry was tasty and spice level wasn’t bad at all. The tofu was too chewy but the chicken was excellent. The rice was a big disappointment for me - a little on the gummy side rather than just sticky. Service was good, but had to pour my water in my husbands glass because no one was checking it. She did bring it when I flagged her down. Overall, the service was very good: prompt and courteous.
Good Thai. Little on the expensive side. Bowl of chicken Tom kha and pad see ewe will run you $20. There was no request for spice level when ordering. Had to ask for additional hot sauce. They'll provide their own sauce and Sriracha. The gluten free pad Thai didn't have any sauce, but was still tasty.
July 2025 update - it was one of our favorite restaurants in Georgetown. This restaurant is now a shadow of its former self. It is more of a take-away restaurant with dishes served in plastic boxes even if you intend to stay and eat at the restaurant. The prices seem to be comparable to before but it has lost its vibe. Oct 2023 update - we went for dinner last night. I am bumping this to 5 stars based on our latest experience Food - Good quality authentic Thai dishes. Yellow curry was flavorful and awesome. Green curry not so much - Tip: ask for thicker green curry when you order and ask for their hot sauce if you like hot! They have some hot sauce lying around but they can bring you the real stuff if you ask! Service - Mac was an excellent waiter and took good care of us. Location - it can be very busy but for us it was relatively easy to find street parking - free after 5 pm Value - Decent prices still, good value Please like 👍🏼this review if this was useful to you so that I can continue to share relevant content in future reviews! Thank you 🙏🏼 Oct 2022 - If you are looking for decent Thai food in the Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leader, Round Rock area, consider this place. We ordered takeaway. Food was good, portions were decent and prices were reasonable - Based on reviews, I was really looking forward to a nice, thick Thai curry - it was more watery than expected - similar to what I have seen at other restaurants in this area. Our children liked the Pad See Ew. Would go back but ask for thicker curry next time. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best… Food - 8 Service - 8 Atmosphere - 8 Value - 9
Small, comfortable place with very good food. Tried the green curry rice, would recommend only if you're a fan of spicy food. The dishes were hearty, definitely meant to share with the table, but also tasty for left overs. It's one of few Thai places in Georgetown that is very very good.
We’ve been visiting Ichiro for quite some time, and honestly, the live music on Saturday nights is the main highlight these days. The atmosphere remains charming, and the staff is friendly, but we’ve really noticed a decline in the quality of the food. To make matters worse, the dishes that should be served hot and crispy—like fried items—often arrive lukewarm or even cold and chewy, almost stale. It’s a real letdown, especially for the price point. Even the water tastes like pure chlorine, which is not what you’d expect from a place with white tablecloths. In short, if you’re heading there, come for the music and the ambiance, but don’t set your food expectations too high. We really hope they turn things around because we used to love this place.
Inauthentic, uninspired, Thai food for Americans. Soup tastes overly sweet and similar to those from supermarket packets. None of the expected spices or flavors. Pad kee mao, even when asking for Thai spicy, just ended up extra oily and not at fragrant. Also, air conditioning is clearly insufficient and everyone at the table was drenched in sweat. The tables are covered in a thick unseeming layer of grease that even a napkin couldn't remove. The spoons were cheapest plastic and the bowls had chips. The door refused to open and we had to call the staff to even get into the restaurant. The waiter forgot the spiciness level of one order, and didn't warn the group about the extended wait time for food.
