Very good food had th chicken fried steak, it was great. Would definitely eat here again
Food was fresh and tasted good. Waitress was attentive. Home cooking restaurant
It is just the best. I am grateful my life travels has had the Big Cup Eatery on my path.
I have eaten here many times and I have never had a bad experience. Today was no exception, however I always ask for my hash browns to be extra extra crispy like always and they always come out mushy in the middle. Today I ordered the same extra extra crispy and simply stated that I don’t what them to be mushy in the middle. The hash browns were perfect! Thank you, Big Cup! The rest of the food was awesome as usual but finally! I have crack the code.. just say you don’t what them mushy.
Great place for comfort food and fun. Excellent customer service and great atmosphere. Family owned.
We stopped to eat here after visiting fossil rim safari, the food was incredible! The food is fresh and they also give you big size portions. I ordered the big cup chicken sandwich and I highly recommend it. We received really quick service and the waiter was constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything. If you are in the area, I highly recommend giving them a visit.
Brad was great! He gave amazing prompt service with a smile on his face. We really appreciated him!
I had the chicken fried steak, my wife had the chimichanga. The food and service was very good. Lots of options on the menu and breakfast is served all day. We will be back.
Absolute best food. In. Glen. Rose. Excellent customer service owner Cliff is super sweet and very TEXAN! their tex-mex is accurate, authentic, chilaquiles were AMAZING not to mention their big as your face biscuits omg so delish. I will never pass through here again without stopping. We ate breakfast here floated the brazos and came BACK for dinner. You can't miss here. Please check out BIG CUP!!!!
This small town restaurant will always hold a place near and deer to me because of the good memories. When my two sons, who are now adults, were much younger we would stop in here to eat before or after we visited Tres Rios, Big Rock Park, or Dinosaur Valley State Park. Whether it was a late breakfast or lunch, it was always a great place to go. Good food. Small town, comfortable atmosphere, and a great location right off State Highway 67 in the heart of Glen Rose. Whether you’re just driving through or staying this is definitely a place you should stop in and enjoy good food
The server Brad was on point. Had had all the answers whole ordering food. He covered whatever else and still kept our cups refilled promptly.
Food was delicious. Homemade and served hot. Highly recommended.
I've visited several times over many years and it's always 10 out of 10 in every way. Would absolutely recommend after a hike through dinosaur valley, but be ready for the happiest food coma afterward
Good food but used to make the big biscuits bigger and real soft and cooked just right.
Really good service all three times I have been there.very accommodating.
This place was awesome! Staff was amazing food was great. Portions were huge. We left full with leftovers. Even my picky eaters (teenagers) enjoyed their meals. Thank you for being a bright spot during a rough time. When we get back to Glen Rose you guys are top of the list to eat at.
My husband had the chicken fried steak. It was really good. Real potatoes the gravey was good not too salty. I had the Senior fried fish with mixed vegetables. Some of the best fish I have ever eaten. Light and flakey. With a crispy crust. Service was great. Still took a while to get our food but worth the wait.
We had a great 1st time experience. The food was delicious, the music wasnt so loud, it wasnt to cold, our waiter checked on us often, but not so much that it felt intrusive. The waiter noticed my kids were playing/reading the menus and he let them hold on to it while he took ours. The restrooms were so clean as well. I really love how they had toy vending machines for the kids ranging from .25-$1 We'll definitely be stopping by again when we are in town 🤗
This little eatery is so cute! It has a huge menu and our server was really nice and knowledgeable. The food was really good. The seasoned French fries were tasty, and so was the red velvet waffle. We had the cheesecake for dessert. Our food was served in a timely manner and paying was quick and easy by scanning a QR code (Apple Pay, google pay, or credit card).
Amazing food, highly recomend this place. Ordered the honey bbq chicken wings and the waiter brought me a wet towel just to clean up after. Their biscuts are basically the size of a loaf of bread. You will not go home hungry
Had the catfish and French fries and hush puppies and it was amazing! Chip and salsa are on point to! Have i mentioned that they deliver not just on service but quality of food as well! One of my favorite places to eat! I also love the Chilaquillas Mayas with Verde salsa and thier jalapeño bun is so amazing on their burgers!
This place has something for everyone. The menu is HUGE, the prices are great and portions were perfect after a long tiring day in the Dinosaur Valley sun. We chose this place while visiting after checking Google and looking at menus. We have picky teens and a very picky 2 year old and with Big Cup having all day breakfast, American fare as well as Mexican choices- this was the place for us. Almost everyone got Mexican the cheese Chile rellano was sooooooo good! And everyone stole a fry from little guy and everyone mentioned how good they were. Service was excellent, sorry I don’t remember her name but she said she was new and her daughter was also a server there. (I am horrible at names.) Overall I would recommend them and would eat there again if I was in the area. The old man said everything had a taste of pea to it. I didn’t think so though.
THIS PLACE SHOULD BE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST OF ALL BREAKFAST LOVERS!!!!! The owners are onsite and actually sat us, CRYSTEL (our waitress) was a true sweetheart and the other staff was super friendly. We originally ordered the chicken fried steak (perfect seasoning NOT FROZEN) bread amazingly, three over easy eggs, hash browns where fresh shredded and a to die for fresh made sourdough jalapeno roll. Breakfast quesadilla ALL FRESH fillings BUTTTTTTTTT it was the Biscuits and Gravy "plate" that caught our 👀👀👀👀 THIS THING IS HUGGGGGGGGE!!!!!! PERFECT AND I MEAN THE BEST EVER FRESH HAND MADE BUTTER BISCUIT (yes I had to use a salt shaker for size reference ITS BIGGGGG Y'ALL and a fancy serving boat with handmade gravy. This hidden gem is definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ cafe tucked in the hill country of Texas WOW is all I can say
Food here is Great. We were staying at a RV park and came here to eat on our first day and was so good we came back a couple more times. The best fried fish I've had anywhere eating out. And the staff was great. Highly recommend.
Was a…strange?..experience. Let me explain. When we first arrived it seemed no one was there to eat. Almost every other restaurant was closed, which was odd. We got taken back by the bathrooms through to the bar area. Was worried at this point if we had made a bad choice. Our waitress came, Emily, and was super friendly. Got our drinks and order super quickly. And before we knew it, the salads came and the food came. (Still worried at this point how things were going to taste) Let me tell you…**WOW** is all we can say! The portions of food…gigantic!!! The taste…INSANE!!! EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!!!! We were left SPEECHLESS!!!! 100% would recommend to anyone! Would completely travel the almost 2 hours for the food!!!
If you're in Glen Rose, TX go to this place for breakfast! The food is great and reasonably priced! You get a lot of bang for the buck! We went there twice! Service was excellent!
This place has excellent country breakfasts. They called themselves the home of the big biscuit as you can tell from the picture the biscuits are about 4 in they are big tasty biscuits. The service was over the top and a price is very reasonable. Best place in Glen Rose I've found to eat. I highly recommend it.
I had the Ribeye Steak. Turned out to be perfectly grilled. Super tasty fries and grilled vegetables with it. Everything fresh and home made. A nice place with friendly service, and good value for money.
The new LED lights are too much. Much prefer the softer lighting that only 4 tables still offer. Please reconsider the bright white LED bulbs. Hopefully they make a softer bulb option
Very welcome and generous hosts. Not too busy on a Saturday. The food was very fresh and nice, the waffles, pancakes were freshly made for sure. The fish plate was good and the portion size was big. We were 4 people, ordered 3 items but we Could not finish them , had to bring back food . The only thing which was not tasty was the mixed fruit bowl , especially mixing cut-up bananas made it a weird combo. Otherwise good price, big portions and welcoming hosts
My husband and I found this place as we were leaving town. So glad we stopped! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and a waffle. I had the breakfast quesadillas with a biscuit and gravy. SO GOOD! the quesadillas did need a little bit of salsa but they were good once I dipped! :) our server was Carlos and he was great. He kept our drinks filled (as my husband drinks sweet tea like a camel 😜) and checked in on us regularly. They do charge a bit more if you’re paying with a credit card but only a few dollars. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner next time we’re in town! 10/10 recommend!
Traveling to far south Texas to visit family for the Thanksgiving holidays with our two large dogs. Dog friendly patio, exceptional service, and perfect food and drink made for the best stop on our road trip. Thank you Big Cup! We’ll definitely be back! 🐾
Excellent experience overall. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. Our waitress, Angel, was very friendly, and attentive, checking on us several times to make sure everything was good. Food came out quick and was served hot. Wife had chicken fried steak and I had an awesome bacon cheeseburger - both tasted great - will be back for a return visit.
The service was great, the tortillas were homemade and delicious. Our server was fantastic. The steak in my combo fajitas was extremely tender and very tasty. That seems hard to come by now days. I highly recommend the queso with the taco meat, guacamole, sour cream, and Pico de gallo in it. The chips were awesome also.
Its sunday lunch. Busy but not crowded. Rustic decor with lots of pics of cowboys, guns and antlers. Great use of old kegs made into bar stools. I ate a BLT that used the cripsiest bacon. I like to add fresh avocado. So yummy. My server was Josie and she was wonderful! Super friendly, hometown feel.
We are 4 our 5 things that were quite possibly the best of that particular food we've ever had. The catfish, the charro beans, the avocado burrito wrapped in cheddar cheese the breakfast quesadillas, the service, the decor were all impeccable. What a great find!
I had such a delightful experience at this charming little restaurant. The atmosphere exceeded my expectations—warm, cozy, and welcoming. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic, engaging with our kid and making us feel right at home. The food was delicious. We left with full bellies and memorable breakfast experience.
Stopped in after a doctor's appointment Was really disappointed that they didn't have Hollandaise sauce ready for eggs Benedict, which is kind of why we went, but we were not disappointed in what we ordered! Everything was fresh, hot coffee and water was always full The biscuit lasted me at least 5 days after I brought it home!!!
Big Cup Eatery is one of those hometown gems you just have to love! Their homestyle meatloaf special is amazing — my wife absolutely loves it, and we make a point to stop in whenever it’s on the menu. The food always tastes fresh and homemade, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming every time. When they have that meatloaf special, do yourself a favor and go try it — you won’t regret it!
Stopped in to try and find something new for breakfast (and anything actually open on Sunday morning). Drove 40 minutes to try it out, and it was worth it. Friendly staff, clean tables, quiet enough to talk. Blueberry pancakes were very tasty, and actually cooked all the way through. Batter tasted like it was homemade. Eggs tasted like they were farm fresh. Egg enchiladas were very good. I was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. I just wish there had been some spicy salsa or some cremosa. Breakfast taco was huge. Much larger than I was expected. Very tasty. Again, it just needed some spicy salsa or cremosa. Definitely a place to come back too.
We have passed by the big cup so many times! Stopped in last time through glen rose and was absolutely blown away! Breakfast all day. Hand battered chicken fried steak, eggs cooked medium well and the biggest biscuit I have ever seen. Food was delicious served hot and fresh. Such a great meal at the right price! Big Cup is our every time stop when in glen rose! Burger was so delicious !
We got to go to the Big Cup Eatery on the day we left Oakdale RV Park which lays claim to having the biggest biscuits in Texas. Well, how could I not try one of those? I ordered the Southern Plate which incorporates said gigantic biscuit and I can attest to the sheer size of this thing. The dish includes two eggs, hash browns and country sausage gravy in a big pile of carbohydrates. And I freaking loved it. The flavor was good enough that I didn’t salt it which is saying something. My better half had the Quesadilla burger which was about $10 and is a big burger in a tortilla. She ordered hers with seasoned fries on the side. Also very good. The service was friendly and prompt and the food arrived in a timely fashion. I thought the place was clean and friendly and the prices were really fair for all the food we got. Overall two thumbs up on Big Cup Eatery. Yum-o!
Well we have been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting for our food... that seems a bit much, it's not that busy. It just showed up, there are 6 of us. Eating and it's delicious!! Totally worth the wait. I especially love that they give you the option to have avocado as your side. Their grilled veggies are scrumptious I will definitely be back again!!

Food was good, hearty and decently priced. You will certainly not walk away hungry after your meal is finished. The CFS is average; it is everything that a CFS should be: flavor is good, meat was tenderized well, it was moist and the gravy was tasty. Nothing made it stand out as above average. The Biscuit and Gravy was a bit above average. The biscuit is huge and the mix of flavors from the hash browns, eggs and gravy was very complimentary. Table service was attentive and prompt. A good experience overall. I would go back if in the area again.
Emily was fantastic!! The table service was great, friendly, and attentive. The kitchen service, however, was very lacking and mediocre. Biscuits taste like a box of Bisquick. Chicken fried steak was overdone, and chewy. Pies tasted like they came out-of-a-box. The Spanish Omelette was the one shiny example of a job well done.
We went with a party of 10:00 and they took care of us extremely well. Service was good. Food was good. So if you're here in Glen Rose looking for good breakfast. Big cup eatery is a good place to go.
I ordered the fajita omelet & the steak literally melted in my mouth!!!! It was cooked to PERFECTION! The only reason I left a star off was due to the dryness of the overall omelet. It could've used more cheese & some flavor to compliment the amazingly cooked steak bites!! Service was pleasant, the young ladies were beyond sweet! I'd dine again & make a few adjustments to amplify the omelet experience 🥰
My husband and I have were in town for the weekend. We didn't want to go anywhere fancy for Valentines Day, so we came here. My husband got a cheeseburger and he said it was very good, just needed more seasoning. I got the trio fajitas. They were just okay. I'm not sure what they seasoned the chicken with but I didn't care for it. The shrimp were tiny tiny, but seasoned well. The beef was pretty tender and was the best of the 3. Rice was fine. Charro beans were delicious. I would get again if I were there but I would get just the beef.
Was seated almost immediately when I arrived for lunch with a friend. Service was pleasant and quick. I had fried catfish with french fries and the catfish was VERY GOOD! The meal included two fillets and a generous portion of fries that were tasty. My friend had shrimp tacos which he enjoyed and our total bill was $28 but with both only had water. The atmosphere was fine, nothing upscale but very comfortable and clean. Highly recommend
Southerner through and through, and this reminds me of quite a few cafes I’m accustomed to in my home state of Georgia. Though, I admit that the Mexican cuisine in the mix is new to me. I’ll start with the good. The chicken fried steak got rave reviews by one reviewer here and that was the sole reason I tried it. I’m not normally a top fan of the meal myself, but this one won me over. It is spectacular. Delicious! Crispy! Flavorful! Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in Texas. My son enjoyed his a la carte tacos, which are simple enough and hard to mess up, I imagine. My daughter enjoyed her Mickey pancake, but yearned for more. I’d say the portion size is a bit small. Now the okay: There were criticisms of the biscuit, so I was sure to try it. The flavor was good (I’m sensitive to baking powder/soda, and there was none of that), but the texture was too crumbly and the bottom was soggy from sitting in the pan too long, I imagine. The burger was good enough. Not particularly flavorful or enough to write home about. The service was fine. The young man who served us was nice enough, but didn’t come to check on us after our meal was served. He also didn’t refill our beverages as much as we would have liked. Whenever I spoke to him, he would start to walk away before I could finish my sentence or before anyone else in the party could speak. Thus, he’d bring a drink only to have to go back and bring a drink, and then do it again and again, rather than asking the table who needed a refill. Parts of our meal were forgotten (like the bread roll that was supposed to come with my meal, and the milk that was supposed to come with my daughter’s) and he took so long to check on us that our meal was practically over by the time we could ask for it. The bad: Maybe this is more of a criticism of Texas—but why are we putting yellow velveeta cheese on Mexican food? That is decidedly awful and doesn’t taste good. Queso is not velveeta. My MIL enjoyed the meal, minus the plastic topping. Overall: It was good enough. There is an extensive menu with options for lunch and seniors, which was nice. The atmosphere is eclectic and a little odd—like a cross between boomer’s living room and a 90s Pizza Hut. We would certainly give it another go—but this time we would all order the chicken fried steak.
Headed home from Fort Worth on Hwy 281, we passed right by this place. We decided to try it and weren’t disappointed. The server was super sweet and told us all about the menu. I got the Chicken Fried Steak plate (of course) and my wife got the Cheeseburger combo. We were also offered chips and salsa. Chicken Fried Steak 8/10 - the CFS was pretty damn good! The only thing I would have changed was to cook it a wee bit longer to get the crust a tad crispier. The flavor was great though and it was tender enough. The gravy was good as well. The Mashed Potatoes were homemade and whipped fine. The Fried Okra as average. Cheeseburger 9/10 - my said it was one of the best burgers she’s ever had. She got it with a homemade Jalapeño bun, with all the fixings. It came with Seasoned French Fries which were delicious. The patty was thick and the veggies were fresh. Great combo if you ask me. Chips and Salsa 5/10 - the salsa was ok, nothing spectacular. Chips were just ok as well. It was a decent appetizer. Service 9/10 - Josie was our server and was phenomenal. Very attentive and helpful. Wish there were more like her!! Atmosphere 7/10 - the restaurant was a little older, but cozy enough. Several rooms in which to sit. It was next to an older motel, with plenty of parking. Overall 8/10 - if we ever come that way again, the do breakfast all day and I’m definitely doing that too. I highly recommend the Big Cup Eatery when in Glen Rose, Texas!
A good place for breakfast. They advertise their "big" biscuits. The biscuits are indeed big, very big! I ordered the Breakfast Chilaquiles Plate and it was fabulous! Overall, the food was really good and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The only draw back was the service was very slow. The waitress seemed to have a lot of customers to serve. Regardless, this is still a good place for breakfast.
The food was delicious! \nIt just took a really long time. \nI loved the country fried steak and eggs and my family loved their meals as well. \nI do wish service was a bit quicker.

They have a good menu, and they make the items well. The chicken I had was fantastic. My picky eater had the bean and cheese burrito, and she finished it and the beans pretty quickly.

The food was delicious, good portions. The service was mediocre, and I had to ask for drinks to be refilled. WATCH your tickets! We were charged for a kids' drink even though it was part of the kids' meal. The price of the kids' meal was wrong and so was my meal. On average, another extra dollar. They also charge for using credit cards, which is annoying to me because credit card fees are a tax deduction for businesses. Also, drinks are $3.38! What in the world? Drinks are the biggest profit margin in a restaurant. Hopefully, my review will make visitors aware and watchful of their tickets!
They really do have large cups 😂 and really big biscuits, almost the size of a brick! But the biscuit was slightly undercooked and had an unusual tangy sourdough flavor. The omelette was a good size but the cheese inside was not melted —just kind of lukewarm, but not melted— which was confusing and weird. The coffee was fresh and included a refill. The oatmeal and toast were totally fine. The interior of the restaurant was clean and comfortable, with pretty decent bathrooms, and the waitress provided friendly, small town casual service. If the food were better, it could be a great place, but the food we had was just OK.
A small local restaurant with okay-ish food. This restaurant seemed like on of the more family friendly eateries in the area. It's pretty casual and definitely nothing fancy at all. My mother ordered a margarita and was left wondering if their was any alcohol in it at all, and my husband's Pina colada was about the same (even though he paid for a double shot of "top shelf") The waitress seemed nice enough, a bit frazzled but nice over all. Pretty slow when we came in and the food didn't take too long. My husband enjoyed his steak, the salads are definitely a bit meh (not the freshes) and my chicken sandwich was okay. The meat inside was good, but the bun they use is NOT a hamburger bun. It taste closer to a sweet biscuit or pancake. It was very odd and I just ate the meat. Seasoned fries are okay but not the seasoning I would assume for fries. We spent about $80 for the 5 of us to get dinner and it definitely wasn't worth the price. It was a good experience but definitely nothing to write home about nor visit twice.
I’m not exactly sure what has happened with this place but we go here quite often and it has steadily gone downhill. Today we were quickly seated and quickly given our drinks and quickly were able to give our food order but then it took 40 minutes for a simple omelette and club sandwich to be brought to our table. The omelette was room temperature and then our waiter disappeared until he brought the check. Two other couples in the restaurant were furious with the same service and one of those couples got up and left because it took so long for their food to be brought out. It’s really sad, we love this place, but we definitely will not be back near as often if at all.
I had the club sandwich which was drowning in mayonnaise and would not stay together when I was trying to eat it. I also had waffle fries and I asked for a side of mayo for them. The server may have gotten confused and just put extra mayo on my sandwich but I could not eat it. We also had a garden salad with added grilled chicken and the serving was huge. Complimentary chips and salsa.

The food was okay, they over charged one of the ladies in our group we had the same thing and mine was less money. The service was not very good and it was kinda dark inside. We will not be going back there.
Not good. Service was friendly but very slow. Food is OK at best. EVERYTHING in that restaurant needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Everything you touch is sticky, it’s pretty gross. The caddy’s that hold the jelly packets, ketchup, salt and paper etc needs to be emptied and ran through the dishwasher. This should be standard.i went here a few years ago and it was way better than it is now. Give your staff some side work and cleaning to do and they really need to increase speed when it comes to serving the drinks and food. Wont be going back any time soon.
I ordered the fajitas trio, the beef was tender but the taste just wasn't there, they were bland. The shrimp had that freezer taste, so I didn't even eat those. The chicken fajita was dry. The rice and beans were good. I was hoping their corn tortillas were authentic and made in house and they weren't, they were packaged. My son had their pancakes and those were tasty. My husband had the Chicken fried steak and it was good, the mashed potatoes had a bitter taste to them, the roll was dry and looked old. We won't go back.
This place was gross. It was dirty. The server was nice but never came back to check on us and had forgotten something we ordered. The tea tasted like it had cleaner in it. The al pastor was tough. We both had a bad stomachache not too long after eating there.
For context, I brought my mom in the restaurant after immunotherapy for breakfast on 1/15. She uses a battery pack oxygen concentrator. We knew she had plenty of battery left to have breakfast before we would need to plug it in to the car charger. We came in, were seated right away. There was a table of 10 that were still arriving nearby and had not ordered. We placed our order, then waited. And waited. And waited. After about 40 minutes, plates of food come out - for the table of 10. Then for the booth next to them who also came in after us. Our server came by and said our food is almost ready. About 5-6 minutes later, my plate comes out. Not mom’s. Hers is again “almost ready.” My food got cold, hers didn’t get served. We got up, and I told an older man who was serving the table of ten that we were going to just go. I wasn’t ugly or confrontational. My mom was tired, and had 4% battery left on her oxygen. His only response was, “OK.” That’s it. We get out to the car, and the server comes running out telling us the food is ready. We told her no thanks, we’ll just leave. So, I can’t rate the food, but the service (not from the waitress, she was trying), was terrible. We pass by there every 3 weeks when she goes to her cancer therapy, but we’ll find other places to eat in town.
We go here every year after we have our reunion to have breakfast and say our goodbyes. Our reservations were for 10am. There were some other groups that came in that were alittle smaller so we rea…
We were here for an hour and a half AFTER ordering our food before it ever came out. Most of the food was barely warm and was really hard. Only one out of the three of us got a drink refill. They used to be really good and I don’t know why they went so downhill. Won’t be going back again
Went here and there didn’t seem to be too many people there, but restaurant was totally disorganized, servers were bickering, management clearly didn’t care at all. Manager told us it would be a while to be seated, even though several tables were open. Then she just wandered off. Overheard several people inside complaining and asking who their server was. Just seemed like a bad scene and poor leadership by manager. So we bailed after waiting 20 minutes or so. It looked like a lock for a bad time.
To start I ordered a non refillable large cup of apple juice for 3$ which was room temperature. My girlfriend ordered hot chocolate and after sipping on it a bit we discovered a long curly hair adrift within the cup. After ordering and an absurd wait I received a cold plate of hash browns and a chewy Belgium waffle. Their prices don’t reflect the product and I feel like I’ve been robbed with the addition of a stomach ache.
The breakfast wasn't great. Burnt hash browns and bacon. The pancakes were so dense and tough. The pancakes wouldn't even soak up the syrup. The food used to be much much better. Eggs were served over easy not over medium as requested. Hopefully for this restaurant the cook's are new and get better at cooking. The wait staff was great. The management did comp our meal. I hope the food gets better. Big Cup was great in the past.
