These tacos and burritos are great! Some of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. They do have weird hours though. I've gone several times to find that they were closed.

Tacos rice and beans and other Mexican food that is served here is great! They even have Mexican cokes! Nice place to go for a quick in and out bite they even have a drive thru. Fast and friendly service!

Hands down the best Mexican Food in Granbury. For breakfast, you can't beat their Pirate burritos or their barbacoa tacos. Go ahead and get the chips and salsa for breakfast, too, nobody will judge you. Make sure you ask for the green sauce to put on the chips and burritos. For lunch, You really can't go wrong with any of their plates/combos. They are not open for dinner, so keep that in mind.

Have driven by Montes at breakfast and lunch and it always seemed busy. So we tried this morning and were pleasantly surprised. Didn’t know the size of the burritos so I ordered two. Had to bring me home. A pretty hefty serving. My husband had a barbacoa burrito and it was delicious. Agree with others that the green sauce was spicy and tasty and the parking situation is a little tricky. Will definitely visit again, probably many times.

Really great breakfast burritos! The drive through can be a little tight depending on what time you get there. The food is always good and the salsas they give you are fresh, flavorful and have some spice to it. Probably the best burritos in town! Don’t miss out!!!

My experiences with this place has always been great. The carne guisada breakfast tacos with the green sauce is our favorite. I’m from Fort Worth so it’s a pretty far drive, but my wife and I are always looking for a reason to go back.

This place is a hole in the wall but delicious. The pastor burrito is my go to. Whole menu is available all days. Prices are cheap. Service is always courteous and quick. Some of the best Mexican breakfast food in town. Always fresh.

Really great burritos, can't be beat for a homemade breakfast to go! Green stuff is awesome and hot! Coffee is ok most of the time. Breakfast plates are reasonable but inflation catches up eventually.

I absolutely love Montes breakfast burritos. I Had beef fajita street tacos there today. I was surprised that the fajita meat was dry. I was not impressed with the condition of the restaurant.

Delicious, tender and flavorable carne guisada. Small establishment located in an ackward locale and can be difficult to get in and out of but worth the effort!

The staff here is amazing, and the food is top-notch! I walked in unannounced and asked for a very large amount of food for a meeting. Nobody batted an eye and they were able to meet my needs incredibly fast! I highly recommend you try their food.

This was my first time visiting Montes. It was an absolutely great experience. The customer service was kind, welcoming and very informative. My family and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Love this little place!! They don't use MSG in their breakfast burritos (at least the ones I have ordered there) which is VERY important to me. Their homemade flower shells they use in their breakfast burritos are amazing. Always a friendly staff and the service is very fast!

The burritos were good but we didn't realize until we got home that the order was wrong. The green hot sauce was really creamy and delicious.

Had the migas with added bacon. Tasted great! Wasnt a huge fan of the potatoes, as they were just French fries without seasoning. Green salsa is spicy! Preferred the red.

Consistently good decent sized burritos... I recommend bean, brisket and jalapeno. The salsa verde here is outstanding. The place is quite popular and often has a line, so calling in your order could save time. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 2PM which is a bummer.

Great tasting meat & breakfast burritos. Their green sauce is wicked spicy; sort of Mexican wasabi. Order inside if you want to take time to look at their large menu. They have a drive through window, but it seems quicker to park and order inside.

These Monterey chalupas today didn't taste like the ones at lake whit. location at all. Looked funny and didn't have much cheese on them. Just didn't have a lot of flavor but I smudged things around and added that lovely green sauce and it made a big difference. 😋

Well, the service is fast, the burritos look big but the flavor it's not exactly what you expecting, even with bacon & egg burrito, it's like is missing something & trust me it's hard to mess up a bacon burrito, Lol, hopefully they figure it out soon that something is missing on their food.

Had a sausage, egg and cheese burrito with guacamole. Tortillas are great and seemed fresh, but the overall burrito was very bland. It barely had any meat and needed an overload of hot sauce to have any flavor. This coming from a white girl says a lot 😂. Overall not a bad experience but I wouldn't recommend.

Tip themselves. Street tacos are actually delicious. The breakfasts burritos don’t have much flavor unless you add the green sauce.

EDIT: they did reach out to me on Facebook to correct the issue. However I’m still a little upset that I even had to make a fuss about it. We’ll be back, but with cash only. These people are scam artists. They filled in a tip on my receipt when I wrote down $0. Left you guys a message and will be disputing with my bank. It’s a shame since we really liked your food. I also see that this is a common occurrence and I’m not the only customer you’ve stolen from! Do better and stop stealing from your customers.

Love the food !!! Breakfast burrito with some green sauce. Oh I love the green sauce! Prices seem to differ a little depending on who is at the register , never enough to matter. The lunchtime menu is good as well. Great for a quick bite. The restaurant was not as clean as I like . Ants inside the dining room...getting in and out of their parking lot is a bit of a trick, so be careful.

January 2026, long time customer. The food is always good, the service very fast. I am however questioning how six tiny cold street tacos listed at $2 each costs me $19.42 today. Either I was over charged, or the menu prices listed are incorrect. Either way, that's not good business. Minus 2 stars

The food is actually really good here the one bad thing that will keep me and my family from going is the girls are always eating while they are serving food. That is disgusting and unsanitary. Who wants somebody serving their food right after they just got finished licking their fingers from eating their own taco. Eeewwwww

I was excited to eat here as it seemed it would be somewhat close to authentic Mexican food. However, once I got home and opened it up I noticed they put soggy french fries on it. Pretty nasty and tasteless if you ask me. The hot sauce has a kick and is decent. Flour tortillas are fresh and not store-bought. Everything else was bland. Didn't finish it and I'm a total fat kid when it comes to breakfast.

Burritos are good, but twice I have ordered more then one burrito and they have been short in giving me how many I ordered. It’s not a big deal but they wouldn’t give me the burritos that I payed for. I payed 10$ for one breakfast burrito when the ticket said two burritos on it.

We visited based on recommendations. The place looked dirty. I asked server to wipe our table before sitting down she was snippy to reply...."it's clean" rude at the onset. Prices are high for burritos over $3. For bean n cheese. We spent $41. For breakfast overpriced rice n beans in my opinion. The place needs a good cleaning all over. Chips n salsa are good.

Came in for breakfast. Ordered breakfast tacos. The ingredients were not fresh or overcooked. The chorizo tacos were not good because there were burnt chorizo bits like it had been scraped from the bottom of the skillet. Should not serve burnt food. Did not communicate to staff because they were busy and we were on a time crunch to get somewhere else. Now we did have a great waitress. She was very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was good. They do serve other items that might be good but the tacos were not.

Food is alright, people are nice and service is fast. However if you want good food for a cheaper price I would go to Max’s kitchen in Cresson. It’s worth the drive. The reason why I come here to Montes instead of making the drive is the red sauce, it’s perfect and makes the burritos taste fantastic. I get sick every time I have the green sauce. I asked for red sauce (I live 20 minutes away from it) come home to find I only had green sauce in my bag. This has happened more than once so needless to say I will make the drive to Max’s Kitchen

The food is super good, but eat with caution. If your food has eggs in it, be careful. 90% of the time when I get a burrito it has egg shells in it....I found a piece a few months ago the size of a nickel. Just found one again as well. They used to never have this mistake.....

The burrito was almost all egg, the chorizo had no flavor and was almost non-existent, some of the potatoes were cold and soggy and the tortillas were thicker than I care for. I couldn't continue eating after bitting into the cold potato.

Ordered brisket and potato burrito. Brisket was cold and chewy, cold fries instead of potatoes inside. No flavor at all. Best part was the homemade tortilla and the portion of meat but the meat was dry and I threw half of it away. Biscuit and gravy was gross. Lots of flour I guess because that's all I tasted. Nothing like Montes in Cleburne. Granbury I paid $40 for cold, microwaved burritos. Won't be back

Your total will be like $11.10 and then later on they will put like two dollars or a dollar tip on and not give you a receipt

I’d give them no stars if it allowed me!! Used to love coming here, was only 5 minutes from my house but will NOT be coming back here again. In the past week I know of 4 people getting very sick from eating here possibly it was food poisoning because I was on the toilet all weekend...

Ordered from them thru favor and they tried to charge a second time for a higher total twice and then changed it to include a 3 dollar tip I never put in. They are always very rude and clearly scammers.

Food is very good, but several times now, my orders are completely wrong and even shorted food. When brought up to management, I was told it was my fault for not checking. Paying good money for good food is good, but paying for food that Is not given is not OK, then being told its the customers fault. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone who values customer service and their money.

The food may be good. But the service there is horrible. The staff is very rude and disrespectful. And that is the reason I only go there every long once and a while. And I will continue to do so until the staff can learn to be more respectful and have manners.

I ordered five burritos in the morning and I called back to get the burrito that was missing or at least my money back. Be careful with take outs and double check you get all you paid for. Even by calling I didn't get anything resolved.

1st time trying their breakfast burrito I get sick. Throwing up and on the toilet all night long. Would have been worth it if the burrito was actually tasty, but it wasn't. It was pretty bad. Also had egg shells in it. Yuck. People getting sick seems to be a new theme with this restaurant. Wish I would have read the reviews before I went.

Burritos were not what we expected. They were good size but lacked flavor. The two different hot sauce they gave us were very bland. Spicy but no flavor.

I went in here to eat breakfast with my sister that flew in from Vegas. The table was dirty I asked her if she could wipe it off she went to get a rag only for the other waitress to tell her not to like the off the table that it was already clean. I ordered just a regular stake quesadilla with at tea it was 16 freaking dollars I was like okay whatever left them a cash tip and zeroed out the tip on the receipt the next day I get a notification on my card they gave themselves a 4 dollars tip on my card even thou I wrote 0 in the receipt DO NOT EAT HERE THEY ARE BYEST AND WILL CHARGE YOU MORE THAN WHAT YOU GET

One of the worst breakfast burritos I've ever had. Ordered a Sausage Egg and Cheese. The cheese and sausage was almost non existent. Paid $7 for a egg burrito basically. Would not recommend.

Have gone at different times through out the years. Wanted to like this place, gave it multiple chances. Even Thought maybe they just had some bad days and I came when the food wasn’t fresh… but no it always tastes like that..This is an OVERRATED over priced establishment. I paid 5$ for a dry flavorless burrito?? McDonalds is better price and actually has flavor!! Every time I get the breakfast burrito here the eggs are so dry I want to vomit and the burrito it’s self is tasteless. Hardly any sausage is put in my burrito basically all dry gross egg. I even tried next time getting cheese and potato added. They actually managed to make the cheese dry and stale. I didnt know that was possible in a cooked burrito.. The only thing that helps it is the green sauce but you have to douse it. And they don’t give you enough green sauce. The red sauce taste really bad. I also tried their burrito lunch. Not authentic tasting Mexican food. Could’ve gotten that at Taco Bell.( and that is not a compliment fiy ) Also usually the young man is at window he gives great friendly service!! But the when the ladies at window she is not nice at all. Just after $$$$

We wondered why all the cars are next door at Los Nares, now we know. NO a/c, all their drink are overpriced bottles, food is sad and bland and the service is almost non existent. They deserve to go out of business.

*Edit - they did not give us a breakfast burrito. They forgot our burrito and this tiny thing was corn tortillas rolled up. So they charged me for food they didn’t give lol. Tried this place for the first time—won’t be back. I was excited because I’ve loved spots like Albert Tacos in Colorado Springs and Poncho’s in Casper, where you get giant burritos and flavorful, authentic Mexican food. This… was not that. Their breakfast burrito was so tiny it fit in the palm of my hand. Is it a Burrito or a Chiquito lol. And the carne asada? Dry and completely flavorless. To top it off, the drive-through was a disaster. The order and pickup window are the same, and the menu is awkwardly placed right there, making it hard to read—especially with misspellings and the angle you have to crane your neck to see it. When I asked what they had, the girl just told me to read the menu. Super helpful, right?

Be aware whenever you pay for your food. That lady with the curly hair will still your money. She over charge. Make sure to ask for receipt and take photo of the price for what you eat. This is not okay

I came here once and will never be returning. The food is decent but what is not, is them adding on a $20 tip (to my card afterwards) when I had given them a cash tip. I've since seen a post in the Granbury Facebook group where at least 15 other people have experienced the same. What horrible customer service is this to steal from your customers?? Especially AFTER getting a cash tip (not like I left no tip and even if someone did, that doesn't give you the right to steal from someone) that you feel entitled to add an additional $20 to charge my card and soo many others. If you ever go here, make sure to bring cash for your meal and tip, so they can't charge your card for more. There are so many other Mexican restaurants in the area that it isn't even worth my time to return and have to use cash considering they steal from their customers. The food was decent, but the atmosphere is for sure a fast food type place and not a nice Mexican restaurant. I would not recommend and if you've been here recently, just check your bank / card statement!!

Burritos have not been the greatest lately. We went yesterday and the hot sauce was frozen and the food was cold. My wife paid with her card and then gets a notice today that they added a $1 tip. She did not put a tip on the receipt, and I know it's only $1, but they are taking money that was not given to them. Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Just be careful when using a card at this establishment. If you want a good breakfast burrito, go to Fondita De Christina. They are amazing and hot.

The burrito was amazing! It was hot and fresh. However, they overcharged my credit card. I guess they think it’s perfectly fine to add an additional tip, since most people won’t notice. Just be aware when making a purchase here and check your statement carefully.

I’ve tried to like this place for a while now. I just can’t. The food is always flavorless and chewy. EVERYTHING needs salt. I’ve felt the past few times that I’ve been getting up charged. The total never makes sense. Today, I finally did the math. The meal for my family, with tax, should’ve been $28.13. Instead, it was $30.03. When I questioned it, the cashier said they raised prices. No sign that I noticed alerting customers of this. Definitely not on their menu. I won’t be back.

Food is usually great but last time I ate a carne guisada burrito It tasted funny and I got sick so I just thought it was a coincidence then I tried it again today and my burrito was majority fat and my wife's burrito was cold to touch. Very disappointed
