Best roast lunch in surrounding area (and all tried and tested). A regular roast extravaganza - delicious start to finish. Sides not needed but delicious extras. Excellent service and quality food in wonderful environment. Big shout out and thank you to Catherine who makes the Sunday lunch experience special. You’re in a safe pair of hands with Catherine. Thank you all

My friend and I used to go here frequently and popped back for Sunday lunch recently - it did not disappoint. Helpful, attentive and friendly staff, great wine, delicious food. Exceptional service and an ambient atmosphere. They even had roast leg of goat on the menu which was heavenly. Couldn’t have wished a better place to spend a Sunday afternoon

Best food I've had in quite a while. Really great starter Empanada, super tasty Sea Bream not to mention the desserts! Great service and prices too. Definitely worth visiting, I recommend!

A special shout out to Catherine whose service is outstanding every time we visit. She is warm and has an excellent knowledge of wine. I would not hesitate to recommend Cat, this pub and her team.

Had lunch here - good food at reasonable prices served by friendly people. The home-made pie was beautiful - proper pie (pastry all the way round, not casserole with a lid!), packed with lovely steak and mushrooms, with good gravy.

Amazing location for Hampton Court and getting into London. Friendly and helpful staff! 😊 Lovely pub for a nice pint and a bite! 🍻 Very cozy, comfortable and clean rooms upstairs! Would definitely recommend and we'll definitely be back! 😊

Had a brilliant Sunday afternoon. There was eight of us, some on roasts, some on started, half drinking beer and half on wine. The food was delicious and all arrived at the same time. The Italian red wine was delicious and service impeccable. The staff were patient while we worked out the division of the bill and deserved their tip. I will be going back.

Popped in for a pint and some chips while I waited for some friends on a cold Sunday evening. Staff were super friendly and service was excellent. Great selection of beers on offer including cask ale at very reasonably prices - all around the £5 mark. The chips were top notch. Ambiance was excellent. Will be back for a proper meal some time!

My wife and I had an amazing Sunday lunch here yesterday. She said it was the most amazing cauliflower cheese she had ever had. The wine was good, staff amazing and also good at offering people water for dogs who are too unattentive to bother. Would definitely eat here again. Great staff.

Had a really good dinner here. The service was great and the food was beautifully cooked. And the value is amazing. Will be visiting again.

Haven't stayed there. Classic English pub, and i am sure quiet at night for overnight visitors. This is a must do refreshment/eating place when I am in Kingston, great atmosphere, beer and quality food. Excellent staff (Catherine). Hope to visit again soon!

Had a great experience! Great food, great vibes, and especially friendly staff. Shout out to Cat who really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning, if just for a natter with Catherine!

Went in for lunch and drinks. Great wifi, very kind staff and incredible food, nice music. Warm vibes. This was the best lunch I had in a long time. So tasty and prepared with love. I ordered the padron peppers and salad with mozzarella and olives. Chips are great, too. Absolutely recommend!🤩

I had lunch here with some friends yesterday, and we truly enjoyed the food. The new chef made a remarkable job with the new menu. Everything looked delicious, but as a vegetarian I can tell you that the vegan burger was absolutely amazing (and I have tried a lot of them around). The staff was lovely, very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended, give it a chance!

I stayed here for two nights, and was pleasantly surprised by it. The room is great, the bed is soft and comfy and the staff is super friendly. I enjoyed one night a meal in the pub, and it was finger licking good! The ribs are a recommendation! Thank you for making my stay so lovely.

What a fabulous pub! We held a family party here just before Christmas - drinks and canapés, plus we stayed overnight in the rooms. We had a great time and Cat and her staff were wonderful - they looked after us really well. The food was good quality, the rooms very comfortable and clean. I will definitely be visiting again.

The Foresters Arms is a fantastic gastro pub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food is always spot on- the Sunday roast in particular is excellent; great quality meat and all the trimmings done just right. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the whole place has a really nice vibe whether you’re popping in for a drink or sitting down for a full meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for great pub food!

The Foresters Arms is one of the best pubs around. A special shout out to Catherine, she makes you feel welcome with a warm smile and genuine conversation. The margarita cocktail menu is a must have, would definitely recommend.

Had the best vegetarian nut roast in Kingston here! The nut roast itself was gorgeous, all the extras were cooked to perfection, topped off with a glorious Yorkshire pudding and loads of veggie gravy. The red cabbage added sweetness. All was so flavoursome and so reasonable at £13. Shared a chocolatey desert and not much room for else! Will come again 🙌🙌

Feasting at The Forresters! After a dog walk we came for food and were treated to a spread of chicken, a veggie meze, a veggie roast, chips and a sticky toffee pudding- a must try! Very generous portions and so tasty. Service was spot on too. Thank you team 😍

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of wines but personally I would prefer a few more craft beers on tap. Never tried the food. Early evening, there is a buzz and if you go in winter, you can enjoy a nice open fire with an ever-changing selection of guest beers.

A beautiful and cozy pub. It's decorated in a very cool manner. The bare brick walls I particularly enjoyed. We came just after lunchtime and it was warm and cozy. The bathrooms also were clean and decorated In the same style. Service was very pleasant and welcoming! Draft selection is a little limited but there seems to be plenty of selection on bottle. We didn't have any food this time, but we really enjoyed the drinks and if we're ever around again we will most certainly return!

We made our second visit to The Foresters in the last year and again enjoyed a lovely time. The food was delicious and served in good time. The waitress who served us the last time too was, again, very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is always good too. It has a welcoming feel and is well worth visiting. Thank you.

I visited here today following a long day’s travelling and couldn’t have been happier with my experience. Cat & Darshik served me and were very friendly & welcoming! The beer selection is fantastic, there were a few ales on alongside an excellent draught beer selection including Pravha, Moretti, Neck Oil & Guinness- my husband loved his pint of Pravha. The wine list is also excellent (I actually work in wine so that’s always important to me!) and I had a very lovely picpoul. We shared a bottle of their Rioja over the Guinness ribs with a side of mac & cheese. It was definitely worth breaking the diet, the ribs were to die for! I really hope to visit again soon.

We booked dinner at The Foresters Arms on a Saturday night. Excellent value and good sized portions, my steak was cooked just right. Polite, friendly service too!

Really lovely cosy pub, great ales and delicious Sunday roast. The beef was divine (so tender and juicy) all the trimmings were delicious and a lovely big Yorkshire pud as well. Cauliflower cheese and sprouts with bacon and chestnuts available as sides are definitely an added bonus. My partner had the nut roast which was deemed excellent. Very attentive and friendly service too. We'll be back for many roasts to come, and I've recommended to anyone who'll listen.

Amazing service . Owner is a gent and a great custodian of this historic bar. The ambience and atmosphere is mellow and chilled during the evenings, which provides a superb place to catch up with friends or family. Had some calamari and their burger and fries...... have to say, both were outstanding... the burger had a good crisp to the outside but yet super juicy on the inside. The fries were good too, house made fries with a good crispy texture. The calamari, was seasoned perfectly, but I would have swapped their chipotle mayo dip (I think?) For a garlic and lime aioli, which would just highlight the freshness even more ..... Great place, from chill out sofas for an intimate catch up or tables for any group sizes that want to have a good drink and some awesome food. 5*

Stonking Sunday lunch here last weekend. Very friendly & light-hearted staff. Service broke down a couple of times but apologies and a little humour smoothed things over quickly. Food was great with good portion sizes for a Sunday roast. Yorkshire puds are extra but at only 80p they're well worth it. Kids portions are roughly half the adult size. Will be back.

A really lovely pub the Foresters. Good selection of ales and nice cost atmosphere when it's possible to go in. There's not a lot of outside space, but they're making the most of it right now. Table service or order via the app, both worked well. You don't need to book tables which I prefer as you can have a more spontaneous drinking session. Good food.

Came down from Cleethorpes for a couple of nights away with wife. Staff and owners are lovely and gave a warm welcome. Helpful at all times and good for a chat. Steaks were beautiful. Wish we could have tried more of the food 😉 We thought that not having to walk through the pub to get to the room was a bonus as we felt it gave us our own space a bit more. Great ambiance in the pub. Would definitely recommend 👌

Only want in for drinks. Friendly service and a decent range of beers. Slightly older crowd (which is, well, me, these days). I'd go again when I'm in Hampton Wick.

A Hampton Wick classic. In terms of the pub at least. The rooms form pics look nice, but have never had the need to stay! Onto the the pub. It’s located on a bit of a road peninsula and the outside seating on the park side can be a nice little sun trap in the afternoon/early evening. Staff are generally pretty friendly and the cask selection rotates occasionally. The keg options are pretty decent too, but could do with maybe another pils perhaps. Inside is pretty cosy on the pub side and there’s also a restaurant. Haven’t dined here for a while, but the food has generally been pretty good and normally there’s a few specials on. A lovely pub to come and visit.

Stayed here for one night, lovely room, well furnished and all the amenities even shower gel which isn’t often provided! Nice price and easy walk to the Palace. Very welcoming staff too. Quite a warm room and windows didn’t open. Don’t leave the lights on accidentally, halogen bulbs add to the heat!

Lovely pub, good beers, food and wine. The only disappointment is last 2 times we have been there with friends on a Saturday they have closed early at 11pm. Their website and Google clearly states midnight. Just put us off a bit as it was still quite busy when they called time. Cutting the evening short.

Seems a nice little pub, I'd go again.

Not overly impressed. Good music and nice atmosphere. Looked promising. Food took 55 minutes to arrive. Asked twice where it was. One waitress answered “it’s coming” without even an apology and made me feel like I shouldn’t be asking. Another table were apologised to at least four times for having to wait for their food and got their meals on the house. Kids chips were covered in salt so had to wipe them all down. No kids menu but they did cater for my son’s food allergies. So overall ok but could have been better.

We had Sunday Roast is belly pork and beef. Both were big portions and cooked to perfection. Other people in our party ordered fish and chips and Guinness braised pork ribs, very delicious too. Food arrived 35 mins after our order and service was slow.

On arrival we approached the bar lady and asked if there was any outside seating, she didn’t look very enthusiastic and just pointed to the door, we were not asked if we were eating or having a drink: Once we found our table I went back in for a menu and ordered two drinks which were ridiculously over priced. Once deciding what we wanted to eat I went back up to the bar to order our food. Two burgers and fries, we had to ask if fries were included as this wasn’t stated on the menu. Our food came and the presentation looked great but unfortunately we can’t say much for the taste, it was so salty I think the chef dropped the salt pot in the food. My husband eats salt and could just about managed, I don't eat salt so had to give half of my meal to my husband. When our meal was finished the lady came out and collected our plates, she didn’t ask how our meal was or if we would like anything else, I’m not sure she was overly happy working in this glorious weather but a little bit of customer service would have gone a long way.

Surly staff. Visited in the evening on 01.05.24, pub is ok, but the two staff on duty were grumpy verging on surly. One of the two, brunette female, behaved as if she was doing us a favour by serving us. Extremely grumpy when we wanted to add a drink to what we had already ordered. Why are people like this working in the service industry? She clearly didn’t want to be there. Makes one think twice about going there again, especially when there are lots of other places to choose from locally.

Had been looking forward to going, having read many great reviews, but was disappointed. Roast beef was lovely, but not very hot; my husband told the young man that cleared our plates that his lamb wasn't great, really chewy, and his response was, "yeah, I don't like chewy meat either!". No, but he wasn't about to part with £17 for a Sunday roast. Nice cocktails and good wine, nice vibe too, but don't think we'll be rushing back

Room spacious and nice design but no plug in sockets by bedside, only usb ports which I don’t have compatible cables for.. which is rather annoying. Bad damp smell in the bathroom and very very cold room. Woke up to a quite sore throat. Unfortunately, the room I think doesn’t represent good value for money at £133 a night. I wouldn’t come here again but staff are very lovely.

Our nearest pub, but don’t come here for a warm welcome on a Sunday evening. Advertised close time is 1030, arrived 1002 to be told they “close at 1000 if no customers”. Two customers were inside and three outside, when I pointed this out was told “they are only having one drink”, which was all we wanted. Support your local, not here!!! Went down the road and got a very warm welcome at the Swan, give it a go as they seem to want to sell beer there!!

I've visited this pub a lot over the years and always enjoyed it. It's always had decent beer, good music and a good atmosphere. Really disappointed on a recent visit to find the intrusive big screen switched on with the sound off for the entire evening. Nobody was watching it and just ruins the feel of the place (it's atmosphere was probably it's greatest asset). The staff said they weren't allowed to switch it off - the owner insists it's always on with the movie channel playing! Mixed feelings about the bar staff too. Attentive service but they started stacking chairs away around us and other customers at about 10:45 on a Friday night! Not sure I'll be back again.

Food is excellent, the chef is amazing. Staff is friendly. But--and it's a big but--they have no mechanism for overnight guests to communicate outside of opening hours, which is extraordinarily inconvenient. I recommend this pub for food only. Do NOT stay overnight.

J
James Stuart

I’m not one to complain often and I must say most of the staff are friendly and this is a lovely pub. I must say however that the manager, a blonde lady is one of the most unfriendly and impolite people I’ve met in hospitality. Unwilling to engage and show any of the basic pleasantries you would expect from even the most junior staff member. It felt like she was doing me a favour and it made me very uncomfortable given the rest of the staff were very pleasant. If you work in hospitality and are a manager the least you can do is make someone feel welcome

We went to the The Foresters Arms pub in Hampton Wick today for Sunday roast. I have to report the appalling scene we encountered. We sat at a table overlooking the kitchen window. The man inside, I think the chef, was constantly picking his nose while serving food. Everyone who came to eat there ate his snot. We were thinking of booking for 40 people for Christmas, but we definitely won't be doing that.

J
Joanne Jacques

This was on its way to being a five star review: lovely cosy pub, good location, clean, efficient and friendly staff, really good food at reasonable prices. Then our Bailey's and Irish coffees arrived and were luke warm so we asked our server to please great them up, which he was happy to do. They were returned to us by a chap who may possibly have been watching a box set of Gordon Ramsay that afternoon, who seemed peculiarly incensed that we'd asked for hot liqueur coffees. He plonked the now beige coffees on the table, blaming the fact that he had "50 people behind the bar" (there was a Christmas party of 26 people in the function room) as the reason the coffees hadn't been hot, and repeatedly said "do you want me to make new ones" in a tone that said he clearly didn't want to, and neither did we want him to. It was rather surreal to be honest: we'd spent a reasonable amount of money on food and drinks, been unassuming and peaceful in our corner, yet were being loudly lambasted in front of several other customers for the temerity of politely asking for our coffees to be served hot. It was embarrassing, uncalled for and thoroughly unprofessional. A short while later, our afternoon having been ruined, we were getting ready to leave and my friend asked the bar staff who the gentleman was. He suddenly appeared and proffered a reluctant apology, which my friend accepted. What a shame.

We ordered the roast dinner. I ordered the lamb. The meat was undercooked. Stingy potatoe portion. Bad. Won't be back.
