Fantastic winery museum really detailed everything you want to know about wine making over the world. Worth the price of admission for sure. Also we loved that La Isla red label!

Vivanco Museum is without the doubt the best wine museum in the world! Make sure that you reserve at least two-three hours to visit this spectacular place, as the amount of the items and the size of the exhibition are huge. Their wines from the Vivanco collection, including sparkling wines, are incredible!

A very nice museum worth visiting for the wine lovers. You can easily spend one and half hours there and if you combine it with the visit to the winery it can sum to three hours. Highly recommended.

I have visited it many years ago, it’s an amazing place: aesthetically pleasing, with various artifacts of art regarded to the wine production.

The place is really nice, took the guided tour which I would have loved to see it actually working but I think it only happens around October and November so take that in mind if you want to see that. All the information provided is great, answer all questions and super nice staff, had a great tasting and bought 3 bottles. They have special promotions too for purchasing their wine. All the museum , bottles , etc are also made for blind people which is amazing!

For me as a wine blogger this heaven! Fantastic collection presented in the most professional way. If you visit the Rioja region this is a must. Beautiful situated close to the ciudad Briones and mountains in the background of the wine valley.

A wonderful journey through 8000 years of wine making and it's influence on religion, community, and lifestyle.

We booked the experience a day before, a bit unsure what to choose but the museum is amazing the tour and tasting were nice but the meal with it was worth a visit to a fancy restaurant. The food was fantastic and the 5! courses with the view from the wineyard plus the bottle of the crianza wine made it into a very special occasion. We'll cherish the memory for years to come and might come back sometime in the winter.

Museo Vivanco is an excellent starting point for a tour of the La Rioja wine region. Their cellar is amazing, as are some of the historical artifacts and art pieces in the Vivanco collection. The bodegas in Laguardia and Elciego are also within easy driving distance from this location.

An Unforgettable Journey through Wine History - Vivanco Wine Museum Location: Briones, La Rioja, Spain My recent visit to the Vivanco Wine Museum in Briones, La Rioja, Spain, left me utterly impressed and enlightened. This extraordinary museum is a true celebration of wine culture, history, and art, offering an experience that every wine enthusiast should not miss. From the moment I stepped foot into the museum, I was captivated by the sheer grandeur and beauty of the surroundings. The architecture seamlessly blends with the breathtaking landscape of La Rioja, creating a picturesque setting for an unforgettable journey through the world of wine. The exhibits within the Vivanco Wine Museum are a testament to the passion and dedication of the Vivanco family, renowned wine connoisseurs. I found myself immersed in a fascinating exploration of the ancient traditions and techniques that have shaped the wine-making process over millennia. The collection of ancient artifacts and tools used by winemakers of the past was simply awe-inspiring, providing a deep appreciation for the history and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. The journey continued with an exploration of the artistry inspired by wine. The museum's art collection, featuring original works by renowned artists like Picasso, Miro, Dega, Sorolla and others, beautifully depicts the cultural significance of wine in various forms of artistic expression. Each piece spoke to the profound influence wine has had on human civilization and left me with a newfound admiration for the beverage that has stood the test of time. The Vivanco Wine Museum also houses an impressive wine cellar, featuring an extensive selection of La Rioja's finest vintages. The guided wine tasting was an absolute delight. Overall, my visit to the Vivanco Wine Museum was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is a place where history, culture, and art converge, celebrating the magic of wine in all its facets. The knowledge I gained and the memories I made will forever be etched in my heart. If you have even the slightest interest in wine or culture, Vivanco Wine Museum is an absolute must-visit destination.

This museum is just amazing. It is best presentation of the entire process of assessing the land, preparing the soil, how the plants are cultivated and the history of diseases that impacted the European root stock. They over the process of pruning then the harvest and processing of the grapes. The video presentation are superb. The history of the wine presses is very well done. Then they cover all the steps in storing the wine in barrels and the details of barrel construction. Then there is the making of corks, bottling and shipping. They have the most extensive collection of cork screws. Then you are able to tour the active wine vine garden to see all the varietal grapes growing along side a large vineyard field. This place is a must and the learning experience is outstanding!

Visited without booking. Large free car park and extremely helpful staff who talk you through the proposed tour and wine tasting. Museum is 21 years old but is pristine The displays and exhibitions are first class taking 2-3 hours to take in all the information. The wine tasting provided a selection of two from 18 bottles which were different but most enjoyable. Well worth a stop in the heart of the Rijca 'Alto' region.

The museum was world class! We’ve been to winelands around the world and have never seen such an amazing presentation of wine history or collection of wine-related items ie: corkscrews, vessels, etc Book ahead for a tasting / museum package. The views and property are lovely. Tasting was OK experience. Shop had nice options.

Good place to visit. The guided tour is very nice and the guide very knowledgeable. The cellar is worth it and very well designed. The restaurant food is very nice and the service just fantastic. The wines were not so good to me. But highly recommended visit nonetheless.

We did a tour of both the bodega and the wine museum. The museum I’d give 5 stars, it’s very interesting and has an extensive collection of artefacts, paintings and many traditional tools for wine making. It really gives you a beautiful insight in the process of wine making throughout history and I highly recommend! The tour of the bodega however, I’d give 3 stars. You can feel that this bodega is very commercial and has lost the personal touch. The cellars are huge and very modern, which is very interesting to see but since it’s so new it doesn’t feel like it has a lot of history. It’s more like a factory than a family owned local winery. Besides that, the tour guide seemed to be not very passionate, and maybe a bit tired from doing this every single day for bus loads of people. The wine tasting at the end of the tour meant quickly drinking two glasses of wine with little time or explanation of the actual ‘tasting’. If you’re curious to see a big scale winery this is worth a visit, but if you want an authentic, historical local winery experience, this is not the place.

It is quite expensive (18 euros each) and exhibits do not come with English translation (I know I’m in Spain and i wouldn’t expect a local restaurant to have an English menu for instance. But for a museum targeting tourists, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect) and the audio guide is really badly made - doesn’t move from one track to the other, so for every track you have to go back to the main menu. You also have to give them a bunch of information just to access the app and audio guide you are unlikely ever to use again. Otherwise a pretty nice museum and some interesting exhibits. The area around the museum is really scenic as well.
