Qué dicen los clientes de The Beacon Cafe
The Beacon Cafe is loved for its great food, friendly service, and unique atmosphere near the airport. The pineapple upside down pancakes are a must-try, and the breakfast buffet offers many options. Some found the temperature too hot and service inconsistent.

This restaurant has not closed BUT relocated. They are working on opening the new building and serving up pineapple pancakes again! I can't wait. Keep checking back for updates to the new location opening soon!
What happened?! I’m REALLY going to miss this spot 😌 This was my family’s go to breakfast place. Amazing in every category. I do sincerely pray for the owners and the staff that all will be well for them.
My absolute, most favorite, was "The Beacon Cafe" at Hicks Airport. The move to 287 B business, brought the same good people and food to that location. Still close to our home on EML. We occasionally eat at "Wing It" at Hicks Field, watch the take offs and landings, as I'm still in aviation since the Marine Corps in '71. Unfortunately the new place is through a lot of traffic at a much greater distance, which will preclude our spur of the moment decisions to go to breakfast. Lot of changes in 70+ years. Guess this is just another.... I wish you well...
I love this place. It has been a go to for my birthday year after year. I like the buffet so you get all the yummies. Sucks they are about to close their doors.
Such a great place to eat. Excellent food and so many options to choose from, the service was amazing, and atmosphere was so welcoming and fun. They were absolutely amazing in taking care of the 25-30+ Jeeps that came in for brunch today.
This might just be the hidden gem in the Fort Worth area! The staff is the friendliest! You can find the owner cooking up these great items. She is super friendly and always has a minute to say hi!! The breakfast buffet is amazing. From the omelette bar with any and everything you can imagine to put in them to the pineapple upside down pancakes. They have so many different great pancakes like the blueberry with pecan, the cranberry white chocolate and my fav…the cinnamon swirl!! You won’t be disappointed…ever!! The only disappointment was that they didn’t have a wheelbarrow to take me to my truck!! 😂 Sadly, they’ve lost their lease and are looking for a new location. The last day (for now) is January 18th so get here while you still can! So, if you know somewhere they can move in the north Fort Worth area, please let the owner know! I’d hate to see this place go!
This place is amazing!! Only thing I can say is its a good thing I only get to go when visiting family or I'd be there every day! Wish I had taken pictures of the food. They have any kind of pancakes and french toast you could ask for and they are all delicious ❤️ Definitely try the pineapple pecan pancakes 🥞 😋
Waitress was very kind, pancakes are incredible, coffee no where near hot enough to my liking but that's my only complaint, the horchata was great as well as pina water.Omelette was stellar.
Just as our visit I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Beacon Cafe! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and the food was perfect. Their breakfast buffet offers an amazing & delicious selection of pancakes—you can tell every stack is made with care, light, fluffy, and perfectly golden. The variety is top tier too, from classic buttermilk to more inventive topped pancakes (🍍upside-down 🥞 😋), there’s something for everyone. What really stood out was the tamale meatballs suggested to us by another restaurant patron. The blended rich, tender texture of meatballs with that bold, savory tamale flavor in such a creative way. They’re definitely a must‑try. The rest of the breakfast buffet keeps up the high standard: fresh fruit, sides, excellent coffee, perfectly scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and more. Service was friendly and prompt, the staff made sure everything was clean and well stocked. Definitely going back...The Beacon Cafe is quickly becoming our weekend go‑to breakfast spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious morning treat!
I took my children here to experience just how incredible their pancakes are. The Beacon did not disappoint:) Upon entering, I was greeted immediately with a smile and was attended too upon sitting down. Everyone was incredibly kind and made us feel so welcome! I ordered the Pineapple Upside Down pancakes and they literally were the best things on earth! My boys both sampled the cinnamon roll pancakes and loved them! The presentation on the Smiley Face pancakes for kids was the cutest thing ever. Great food and great staff!
This is one of our favorite places to go in the mornings or after church. She will not be disappointed the chefs in the back really know what they’re doing and nail it every single time I have never had a plate here I didn’t like and the waitresses are amazing. Always get you what you need never let your drinks go empty and will help you make a decision on what to order.
Okay it takes a lot for me to give five stars to anyplace. I have been driving by this place since I moved to Saginaw Texas. And now that I had a day off I was able to visit it. It has a rustic/man cave decor. But has the welcoming feel for everyone. I don't remember her name but the waitress with the beautiful purple hair was very friendly and recommended the dirty eggs and hash plate. Which was very delicious!!!! And this is the first restaurant that I have been to that gave me coffee already in a to-go cup. I will be returning to try more of the delicious dishes.
Great place with a nostalgic travel theme. Service was super friendly and fast. We had a French Toast and their take on Corned Beef Hash. Both were excellent and in appropriately Texas sized portions. I was especially pleased with hash that used ground mustard as part of the mix in hash. Check them out when you can.
It's easy to pass this awesome restaurant up if you're from Texas or not. As you get closer to The Beacon, you can't help but think that you've made a wrong turn because you're sharing the road/runaway with private planes. It is def a site to see while you sit and have great food. Children would love it! It was relaxing, and entertaining to watch people play with their planes on the runway while I ate my Dirty Hash and pineapple upside down pancake!
I love this restaurant!!!!! The atmosphere is amazing, servers are attentive, and the food is delicious!!!! We like to sit by large windows so we can watch the planes taxi while we eat our meal. I really enjoy the pineapple upside pancakes, however, they are really sweet. I would recommend that you get one plain pancake to help cut some of the sweetness. No complaints on my end. Enjoy!
This is a very unique place for brunch! No Mimosas, but it's BYOB..the food is buffet style, however most is prepared to order. The pancakes are their signature dish, served with fresh fruit! The pineapple upside down pancakes were my favorite and my husband loved the strawberry pancakes. The omelets were delicious also!!!! Afterwards we drove around and took in the sites. Thought we were going to have to pack up and move I to a hanger....love this place, will be returning!
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! One of the best airport cafes I have ever been to around the country. I absolutely loved that I could order good home cooked food here and also get fresh espresso drinks from the full espresso machine.... not the fake stuff! The pancakes were amazing; be sure to get chocolate chips in them! The bacon and sausage are both great; I recommend them both. My wife got a Mexican omelette and it was huge and delicious. Definitely will try this out again--probably on a weekend when they do a chefs buffet! Can be a little hard to find the first time since it's literally right beside the runway--just keep going down past all the hangars until you see it.
We made a Mothers Day stop here. We are long time fans but it had been a while and the awesomeness remains. The amazing omelet station and fantastic pineapple upside down pancake are to die for along with fresh watermelon juice and perfect coffee. Lots of happiness surrounding the freshly baked biscuit and gravy too! Check it out
First time visiting here. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. They were fairly busy but the place is large with lots of seating. They also had a breakfast buffet for $16.99, not sure if it’s only Saturday but it had tons of options and everything looked fresh. I had the Beacon Breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the pancakes were flavorful. The bacon was nice and crispy but the pieces are really thin, leaving me wanting a little more.
We had reservations for a party of 10, we were seated right away. The prices for a brunch was great, but it was too hot in this restaurant. They did have 2 big industrial fans blowing, but it's July in Texas! The food wasn't bad , it was just too hot to enjoy a meal.
It's such a disappointment that this place just isn't what it used to be. We went for breakfast and the food is very bland. Bacon was under cooked, sausage was over cooked and not very tasty. The fact that they are trying to add Mexican food in with the buffet, it just doesn't work well. The French Toast was the only decent thing we had and the wife and I both said we wouldn't go back. Really sad that this place has gone down hill.......
I love their food but holy cow, the service can be rough. Asked if we could order a Reuben sandwich without 1000 Island dressing... got told nope, they're pre-made and reheated. Ew, what? Maybe she misunderstood the question? Dunno. This location is closing and apparently they already got rid of the vent fan because the air quality was terrible. I wish them well in their new space but things need to change
