Industry standard burger joint offers American favorites. Don't forget the spicy ketchup!
they stay open all night with great milkshakes and malt milkshakes, how can you beat it?
Recently decided to order at the busiest time of the evening (2am after the bars all let out) 🙄 the place was a mad house! Customers dancing sing and screaming loudly, barking orders at the staff and being rude... besides the expected wait time, I was unexpectedly surprised!! the staff maintained composure, staying calm, while functioning at a speed to get those orders out! I didn't get everyone's names but the employee who handled the inside orders, his name was Bryan, Hats off to these guys, they deserve a raise!
Fantastic experience, manager came and asked us if we needed anything a good couple times. Haven't been to one in years and didn't realize how much I missed it. It was also my girlfriend's first time and she absolutely loved it.
It seems a lot of folks have had a bad experience here so far. Here's my take... I went on a Saturday night and orderee to go from ordering inside. I gotta say, I am impressed. It was a pretty short wait considering how packed they were. This place is very popular right now and I really expected a long wait especially with the party of 20 ahead of us plus the drive through was as long as ever. But they got our food to us in less than 10 minutes and oh man... it was SO perfect. The staff was nice enough. I'd say give them some grace. The place is new and fast food work is rough stuff. I've been on the other side of the register and from my experience....it's really management that drives a good experience or bad one. Alllllll that to say.... be kind, and be patient even if you have to wait.
This team at the Atlantic and Kernan location is awesome. Very clean store, great personality, and the sense of urgency is apparent. Exceptional Customer service every time I'm there. Keep up the great work, don't get complacent.
As fast food goes, this is one of the places that always serves freshly cooked food. It's a very clean restaurant and employees are nice and friendly
This Whataburger has a pretty nice atmosphere and is clean all the times I've visited. My main reason for writing a review is to acknowledge the stellar customer service from Ms. Mary C. She is an absolute gem! What a sweet and kind lady. I hope management would reward her for her friendliness because that kind of service is so rare nowadays...especially in fast food.
I was able to get a double burger all the way for 6 dollars and some change The small burger was delicious
My husband and I walked in and were immediately greeted. Our food came out fast and it was delicious - my husband got a number one (regular Whataburger) with fries and I got a medium Mexican Hot Chocolate Milkshake (limited time only) with fries. The fries didn’t come with enough ketchup (we were only given one pack each), but no worries: we asked for more and were given it. Since Whataburger is from Texas, everything is bigger, especially the drink sizes. You don’t have to be in Texas to get a Texas-sized drink if you come to Whataburger, and that’s what my husband got with his Large Root Beer. The prices were reasonable. For a fast food joint, the tables and floors were relatively clean, and the bathrooms were equally spotless. There’s plenty of parking and the restaurant is in a nice and easily-accessible area. We were not told to have a nice day as we left. Overall score: A-
I have been eating Whataburger since I was a child in Texas so it's easy for me to judge them. And I lived near the headquarters office once in Corpus Christi so the local stores were ALWAYS pristine and in perfect working order. Having said that.. this location was very good. Fairly new, clean and the burger was hot and good. Love the seasonal burger options they come up with and that the stores remain as consistent as possible.
Hayden, the manager, provided my family and I with great customer service. Brought our food to our table. Had a little incident with my wife burger, dropped it as she was opening the wrapper. He took care of her immediately. Thank you. Recommend this place. Delicious burgers. First timer.
Had a pleasant lunch on a weekday with 2 of my kids. The dining area was clean and not too crowded. The cashier was attentive and courteous. The beverage station was well stocked and in good order. The food was about what you'd expect from a fast food place. Sick of being treated like trash at the clown chain? Come here instead.
The service was absolutely wonderful. The food is good. It is hot and fresh. They bring the food to your table right to you and they are always on time with the orders. They are very nice and well mannered manager, Hayden. And their general manager essence brings incredible value to Whataburger. They have the upmost respect and dedication for the Whataburger family. I will always come here with my family personally to dining in for that beautiful experience.
ordered at the drive thru and had an issue with my order when I got home. spoke with Jeff, said he would make it right. came in the next day and Jeff was not there, however the staff completely handled the situation professionally. very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the customer service I received.
Na’kia was the nicest! She complimented me while I was ordering and made my day. I will be coming back to this Whataburger very soon. She made me feel very welcome and like I was at home!
My local Whataburger, always gets my orders right, and the burgers are great here, I'm a big fan of the Barq's rootbeer here I think Whataburger has their own specific mix because it's always the best at Whataburger.
Food was hot and delicious fries was hot and even staff was very friendly we will be coming back again milkshakes was even good also
Mrs Margret and Romeo know how to take care of the doordash drivers - friendly and and sincere human beings 👍
I've never had the general manager of a fast food restaurant come to my table to ask if everything was to my liking (which it was). Thanks for the fantastic service. 👍
Idk why, but employees at Whataburger just always seem to be in a good mood. The food is so good. Almost comparable to what I would make at home. It's a little on the pricey side, but the amount of food you get beats most burger places for what you pay. The restaurant is always very clean. It's just all around an enjoyable experience.
Whataburger is always worth the wait, but we’ve never had such friendly and welcoming service as Mark provided at this restaurant. It was after 10pm but he was as enthusiastic and kind as he could be and he’s a great asset to the company!
As per any customer service interaction anywhere, mistakes happen. However, the team here responded very well. We were only missing apple pies, so we came back to get them another day. The manager Jeff remembered us and offered to pay for another item as well. The team is very knowledgeable about their policies, and it’s refreshing to see❤️❤️
This location is one of the best. Nice staff. Best to download the app and order ahead if you're in a hurry. Recipe for The Messier: Order Breakfast Burger. Add oneextra egg. Choose Brioche bread toasted both sides. Have eggs prepared picante style with jalenpenos. Dip in spicy ketchup. Holla if you hear me. - MIKE
I was pleasantly surprised. Normally the food is spot on, but the wait is atrocious at my local Whataburger, but it was actually quick. There were about eight or nine cars in the Drive-Thru, and we managed to get our food in about 5 minutes. We ordered a small burger by itself, and two larger Whataburger meals, plus two apple pies. The food was hot when we got it.
The gentlemen who helped me at the counter at 1105pm 11/18 was amazing. Went over and above. He deserves a raise! Everyone was polite and fast and the place was clean and food smels great!
So glad that this location near me is open. Awesome customer service! I called the Corporate Office, and after a short wait, Cassandra informed me about the opening date. This chain has some of the largest portions, and they maintain good pricing. By size and price, their Breakfast Biscuits and Burgers are the best value against the competition... 🍔 🍟 🍔 🍟
Gotta love Whataburger. This new location right across from Cinemark is pretty good. The service is usually quite good and the food is always great. I have noticed that when I visit, the soda counter is always dirty; but that might be because I am always there during peak hours. The sweet tea usually tastes… off as well. If you’re a sweet tea drinker, I would avoid getting it at this location. Usually not too crowded on the weekends. Overall, a decent whataburger location.
A great place to dine before enjoying a at movie Cinemark of North Atlantic Blvd.
My husband and I went to drive thru around 5pm Jan 8 2023 after a movie. The guy on speaker was very nice and took our order. Ordered two number 1 hamburger meal medium. Had plenty of mustard on it, no cheese like we asked and tasted good. Fries went cold fast and a bit too salty, but heck was still good with some nice service.
Clean store, friendly and attentive staff. Tasty, fast & hot food just what you want in a fast food restaurant. I have only one negative comment. My hamburger buns wasn’t the freshest as it broke apart as I was eating my jalapeño cheeseburger. I was still tasty but messy. I rate them an A- because of that reason. Still a great place to eat for good food at a fair price.
The food was very good, but they are still going through some growing pains. While the service was good, there were two issues with our order. Thankfully, we dined inside and were able to get it corrected. Also, at the time we were there (9pm on a Sunday), they needed more staff. The restaurant was not clean (trash at tables and on the ground with no one picking it up), and they had one person at the register which was backed up. By the time we left, there were probably 15 people waiting. Good start, but these issues will need to be addressed.
I’m writing the review for who I think was the manager. We went in and the staff was kinda a mess. Talking and goofing off while people kept coming up with incorrect orders including our own. The manager was incredibly friendly and apologetic. She was all over the place running around trying to keep things moving smoothly. She also said she was trying to train new people as well. Had some issues but it seems like the manager really was trying hard.
My french fries were partly cold & rubbery & my burger wasn't appeasing.
It wasn't very busy and it took me 50 minutes to get my order. The food was cold and they couldn't process my debit card. I think this is the last time I visited this place.
Regular sausage egg and cheese biscuit.... You can always tell how long the sandwiches are stored by the cheese. The cheese on this biscuit was completely melted. So I know it's been there a while....
My husband made a error when putting in our Whataburger destination. Arrived to the location on Atlantic Boulevard and initial interaction was horrible. The skills of taking orders in the drive through are under par. rude and incompetent customer service. The young girl came to our window and handed us our drinks, barely any ice in the cups and almost dumped all over me and my husband. She asked for us to pull over in the second lane and we sat for approximately 10-15 minutes before our food arrived. Food quality is over all great. Fries were warm, burgers as well. My only recommendation is to enhance customer service protocols. I will be back to give another opportunity regarding customer service. Overall 3.7/5 stars for me!
Burger was hot and fresh made well. The fries on the other hand were hot but basically raw in the middle and had to throw them out.
I used to love whataburger but it has gone down hill. The burgers are smaller than they used to be.
So I just had a pretty embarrassing incident… I came here for lunch around 11a and was by myself. I got the #5 and it came out great. I Dined in, so the cashier gave me a # as usual. And then asked for my name. I normally don’t like to give out my first because most people butcher it. So I gave her my last name. I’ve never had this reaction to my last name (Bones) before it was really just weird and made me uncomfortable albeit I can see how at a low maturity level you can make things up. Another employees stepped 2 feet from the front desk and yelled my name. It’s a decently sized place but still it was quiet while everyone ate. He basically made me get up and walked to him. So I did. Handed him my number and he just stared at me. So I grabbed a spicy ketchup. Took my food from his hands and he walked back to my seat. I would’ve been fine then but I heard him go back to the kitchen and reiterate what just happened to the other employees. For some reason they all had a good loud laugh. I could hear him speak about the incident/my name a few more times while other guests came in, sat and received their food from him. He walked up to the other orders and confirmed their name but at a normal tone this time. The whole visit was so weird and awkward. I was definitely not feeling welcomed.
First time here, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a good experience. The store itself was sleek and clean, and the manager was fantastic—very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. Every part of our order came out wrong, and the wait was unusually long. They were running a 75th anniversary special with 75-cent burgers, but it was obvious they hadn’t planned for the rush. As for the food, it was disappointing. The burger lacked flavor, and the bun was burnt—overall, well below average.
Burger and chicken sandwich was hot and delicious. Food was tasty. Yes- servers were slow and still a bit confused but our food was worth it. Restaurant was clean and relaxing atmosphere. Dining seating is nice counters or tables available. Family friendly - high chairs and changing table in restrooms. Restrooms were clean and soap was plenty. Plenty of parking. Easy in and out access. Just need to get the servers organized.
One of the nicer Wataburgers. Restaurant and restrooms were pretty clean with good service and friendly, attentive employees. Food is good but not great. Not good enough to justify the price. For example, I tried the new jalapeño double burger…pic attached. That was $10.00! Sorry guys not that great and certainly not assembled like the advertisement. Fries very good (crispy hot well seasoned…thin cut like McDonalds) and love their spicy ketchup.
Ordered online and it was confirmed my order will be done in 10 minutes. So I waited 10 minutes to leave my house. I get to the location for pick up and I’m waiting 20 minutes for my order. I would have been understanding that they were busy, but instead, I kept getting a manager, some tall white girl with glasses, saying I’m waiting on fries and I watched them make my order with my fries and put it to the side. Then I was told by the same manager I was waiting on two drinks and that the gentleman was getting them for me, I watched the gentleman play in the dining area with one of his Buddies and the manager came out and sat at a table with one of her friends. I finally said something to someone else which I believe was another manager and he immediately got my drinks and gave me my food. My fries were warm, but I didn’t even want to have to wait , I’m not a complainer and I even complimented that they were definitely busy and they’re attitudes were awesome but I don’t appreciate the manager feeling obligated to just tell me anything just I guess so. She can look good if you want to slack on your job miss me with that , I just wanted at least lukewarm fries and a drink within the timeframe I was told
Ordered large fries they put a small amount in the large container. Made sure to order ketchup and sauces they never put in the damn bag. It's not hard to do.
We visited this place twice. The first visit, we dined in, I received my food but my wife did not. We inquired about the order and was told they didn't have an order for her which was strange. The manager apologized and we eventually got her food and a coupon for a free meal later. The food wasn't hot and fresh. We thought maybe just a bad day. Second visit, it took a long time, approximately 20 minutes to get our food. The fries were cold. We cannot give a positive recommendation for this location on Atlantic Blvd across from Kohl's Department store Jax, Fl. The store is new but service is very poor.
I usually have great experiences here and the owner is very attentive, but this morning she wasn't here and the food showed. I ordered a #1 with cheese, no tomato. I have a severe egg allergy and go here because this place has burgers with no mayo. When I got my order, super fast during breakfast time, I received a burger with no cheese. Ok fine. Went up to the counter and was handed a piece of cold cheese. Then I go to eat my burger and immediately feel like vomiting. I lifted up the bun and there was lettuce covered in mayo. No my bun, but the lettuce itself. Now I have already bothered them about my cheese and my ill feeling has taken over me. So I ended up throwing the lettuce away and wiping everything down with water, which meant a colder burger. As I ate more, the vomiting feeling kept getting worse. My best guess is either the lettuce or the burger was recycled, hence my 2 minute total wait at 7am. I was sick all morning. Lesson learned, I will only order grilled cheese from here again.
Man, I want to love this place as it's right around the corner. I like the menu concepts. But the service is so SLOW. The food used to always be hot. However the past 3-5 months, it's still slow and now the food has been cold and kind of disgusting. Bad combo. The final straw was my free meal on the app didn't work b/c of a glitch, I don't know. The manager knew I was waiting in line forever and I was on my lunch break. Those built up points were my lunch money... the manager would not let me have my food and had no solution... sad to say it's the last straw for me... I'll go to Chipotle the new Chik filet or grocery
Went in the drive thru after a movie, was after 9pm. A shameful Whatburger, got a chicken sandwich and the Monterey one. Opened mine and the buns were burned black, chicken itself was dry as hell. The Monterey was squished, couldn’t even check the buns. Monterey tasted fine, but I had to drench the chicken in ketchup to be edible. Do yourself a favor and drive out to the Atlantic beach one, they’re not all like this.
This location is terrible with accuracy and timeliness. Always missing items of food. Food when it’s made correctly and actually in the bag is decent.
always slow at this place and told the girl at the window i was using my rewards and got to the window, gave her my rewards, i asked “did it take the sandwich off?” now idk if she was ignoring me or just didn’t hear me, but she didn’t even check what rewards i had attached to my account. she just tapped the card and charged the full price. i could’ve gotten a full meal for the price i had to pay for the sandwich, ridiculous. i know they can see the items/rewards when they scan the account, so she must not actually be checking it and moving people through without a care in the world.
I'd like to start by saying that I work in a restaurant myself and always give the benefit of a doubt whenever a place is slow. Maybe new employees, appliances not working, busy rush, etc. But for pretty much *months* now on end, getting food in the drive thru, or even just generally, is practically a marathon. Everytime I come here, it's usually at night, with at most 3 or 4 other cars in line and nobody inside, and yet it never fails to end up a 35 minute trip. As said, I always try to be lenient, but it's getting to a point where it's just ridiculous. One of the few times I came during lunch instead of night, there were some around 7-9 people in the lobby all waiting on food, with maybe only a car or two in the drive thru. My last straw was ordering nothing but a small chocolate shake at night. I started ordering on my app long in advance since i already knew what I was getting into, but never fails to still have to end up waiting 30+ minutes. 3 cars ahead, ordered at 10:23. Finally get to the window and get told to pull up to the curb as 4 other cars get served before my friend decides to just go inside instead of waiting another god knows how long. They say the milkshake machine isn't working and offered fries to compensate. No clue why I couldn't have been told long before or *at the window*. Finally leave at 11:09, a full 46 minutes from ordering a small chocolate shake with nothing else, to leave with small fries and time wasted. I haven't a clue on what's going on inside that restaurant, but something seriously needs to change.
The convenience is not worth the price any more. There are other fast food restaurants around that won’t take 20 minutes+ to get my food out to me just to have it be wrong after waiting all that time. Food is too expensive nowadays for it to be so terribly inconsistent. Between chicken (whether it be on the breakfast or lunch order) being hard/ cold to drinks being just completely incorrect. Im just over it. If you want to take the gamble on whether you get the right food and get it warm enough to be considered a good lunch then you do you but I’m gonna start going to culvers down the way a bit for my burger and chicken from now on.
Is nice store staff ok .Food ok...kid asked for job 1 said hire quick 1 said not at all. Stick with general managers all places. Be nice and get nice. And remember mistakes happen these better burgers than moct
30 min in drive thru Wrong drink , burger cold and wrong , onion rings there were 5 in my order only thing hot. Fries cold. This restaurant is always a long it in drive thru whether there is two cars or five.im gonna sit that long should be right and hot
So, I actually started reading reviews while we were in line waiting to get food. This is a new location, yet the wait time here is a bit ridiculous. Stood in drive thru like 20min. The fries were half cold, burgers were cold. Not impressed, actually disappointed for waiting so long for this location to open. Will not be coming back until they get thier act together, and people's feedback improves.
2:20 AM drive thru worker on December 17th was extremely moody. He took our order and before letting us finish ordering would give us our price rushing us although there was no line, we let that go and got to the window, we were respectful and tried handing him a $50 bill for a $26 order which was the only thing we had. He asked us multiple times if we had any other change although we kept saying no, he walked away and huffed showing signs of annoyance. As someone who was a waitress and worked in food service I would never treat my customers that way.
ordered onion rings, realized they gave me fries instead so went back to the drive thru and was talking to the guy at the window and then the over night manager Zay came to the window and was extremely rude not only to me but to the kid that was working the window. i was supposed to have 2 orders so i brought the fries back and he reluctantly gave me one order. not my fault you hate your job but at least give me what i ordered and hire a decent manager
Where do I even start? Long story short, I placed an order for takeout on the App and it said it would be ready within 3 to 6 minutes. I arrive 10 minutes later and I end up placing an extra order for a med. fry. I SPENT AN HOUR TOTAL THERE!! Took 20+ minutes to receive my online takeout order that was SUPPOSED TO BE READY IN 3 TO 6 MINUTES and it took 35+ minutes to receive A SINGLE DAMN MEDIUM FRY!!! I will not be returning any time. And I highly suggest anyone ordering food from here to be expected to pitch a tent and wait in the lobby for their food. Service was extremely slow, McDonalds has more decency that this… And that’s a big statement…
Placed an online order and still waited 45 min, they left our food on the rack and never bothered to bring it out to us, what's the point of curbside pickup? And when we asked to remake the food because our order was cold, they got upset and just threw it together. And it wrong.. this place goes down hill on the weekends.,definitely consider a new staff because you guys suck!!
I ordered a Whatachick'n Sandwich, instead I got a spicy Whatachick'n Sandwich. This is the 2nd time Whataburger got my order incorrect, the receipt says Whatachick'n Sandwich meal and yet I got a spicy Whatachick'n Sandwich what type of service is this. 7/11/2025 update I ordered a whatachick'n with no tomato and when I got the food I saw tomatoes. The lady was rude on the microphone and didn't listen.
Disgusting food Bad service and the restrooms were closed And guess what ? The workers ask for tips in a rude way Will never back there
I wish they would stop reusing old tea…when the tea is fresh it is really good, but more often than not it’s sour. You charge $3 for a drink, please make fresh tea each morning and stop using the stuff leftover from the previous day
I'd give it zero stars but can't. Staff is grossly untrained. Slow as hell. Went for breakfast, a groups of people were waiting for food and upset. I've been waiting for 15 minutes for breakfast food and no sign of food coming. Others have been waiting for over 30 mins. Poor lady at front is brand new and obviously hadn't been trained--she didn't know how to do a sandwich with no cheese or other basic things. They left her up front with zero help. This is ridiculous in this day and age. How about taking care of the customer!!??? Absolutely horrible experience. Won't be back and I would suggest others to not come with horrible.
Been waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes while the staff are standing around talking and laughing. There are in fact five other cars waiting for their food. I just came to read the reviews and see that this is typical apparently. When asking what the hold up was, their response was “Sorry we are really backed up” which wasn’t true because we were the only ones in the drive thru when we ordered. Then the second response was “We are under staffed” which again did not look to be true as there were a whole bunch of them standing around. We figured our food would be hot and they were waiting on the food to cook but again, nope it was like warm at best. Obviously the owner does not work there.
What a long wait? Why stay open 24 hours if you’re unable to adequately support your customers. This was by far the slowest service I’ve ever experienced from a fast food restaurant. Zero sense of urgency. Please close this location at 11pm. Never again will I subject myself to this kind of service. The manager needs training and the owner needs to have their hands on this location. The food was as bad as the service. Someone owes me a meal. Google should allow zero stars. This is what was earned.
This place is pathetic. This is our first visit to this location. Clearly it should have just never opened. A simple order of biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and a sandwich took 20 min. Gravy was disgusting. Tasted like butter. This is how I left the food. I would suggest going to the location at the other end of Atlantic in Neptune Beach. Never had a bad visit there
After observing 4 cars in front of me and waiting 20 minutes in a captive drive thru, an average of 5 minutes per vehicle!, how can I offer any review short of pure disappointment. The lady on the speaker was extremely cordial. But it ended there. After 20 minutes, asking the cashier upon my arrival at the window, if my food was ready, hot, and what was the delay? I was advised they were very busy. She didn't offer an apology. It was 11 pm at night on a weeknight. No dining room. 5 minutes per vehicle??? Fries can be cooked in less time than that. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It wasn't hot. I assume they will read this and do nothing. I expect no less. I won't return.
I live across the street and eat here at least once a day. My order is never correct. This morning solved it. I’ll never eat here again.
THEY LIE. I ordered food online. The text said it was delivered, and a picture of a yellow vehicle with a Whatburger bag in the seat was what they sent. I called the restaurant, and the lady said "I'm sorry, and there's nothing we can do". STAY AWAY FROM THIS WHATABURGER !!!!!!!!
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. I waited far too long for my order, and the staff didn’t seem to care—rude, dismissive, and clearly not interested in providing good service. When the food finally arrived, the burger was disappointing: bland, greasy, and definitely not worth the wait. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for decent food or a respectful dining experience
All the food taste like old grease. I've tried eating at this store a few times and have never had good food come out of this store. If you want good food this isn't the one to visit. Try the beach store or beach Blvd near Sam's. I've had good food from both of those but never, never this Atlantic Blvd new store. It's never been good since it's opened. What a waste of space.
I ordered some breakfast this morning for me and my wife and our son, I waited 25min at the window with 2 of our 3 drinks! At about the 30 min mark the lady that is acting clueless hand us our burnt smelling food and then still fails to give me our last sweet tea which was also the wrong size. Won’t be coming back here for a damn thang anytime soon!!! If you want whataburger drive 10 mins down the road to the Neptune Beach location
My first mistake was going to whataburger! I was shorten my change by the drive thru worker, I had to tell her how much, I’m supposed to got back. Then I asked for no salt on fries, they re-dropped them so they could be hot & they was full of salt & still cold. It was only 1 person behind me in drive thru line. I order the chicken sandwich and the bun was soaked in condiments, the sandwich itself was bland, no flavor! The lemonade was watery, Definitely low quality food & drink. I won’t be returning to whataburger ever again.
This was our first and last visit. Arrived to a packed lobby. We understood there would be a wait. But after waiting over 20 minutes for our meal, it was cold, the cheese was not melted. I was not impressed with how thin the burger was. It was probably the worst burger I have ever had.
Ordered a #2. Asked for no tomatoes and sub ketchup for mustard. Got home and it was meat and ketchup only. What? What a NOT burger
I had a very disappointing experience at this Whataburger location. There was no one at the front counter to take orders or assist customers—I waited over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. After finally placing my order, it took another 20 minutes for my food to arrive, and when it did, the staff was rude and unprofessional. Poor customer service and long wait times made this visit frustrating. Definitely not the level of service I expected.
One of the worst fast food experiences I’ve add had. I waited way too long for a simple order, and the staff couldn’t have been less helpful. No sense of urgency, no apology, and zero customer service skills. It felt like I was bothering them just by being there. The food wasn’t even fresh by the time it finally came out. Definitely not coming back to this location
Left another dinner establishment(rhymes with holly bee) very disappointed just for this experience to be just as bad, if not worse. When we walked in, we were first approached with “I don’t get paid enough for that”, my husband proceeded to let one of the employees(Antwone) know that their (American) flag was about to fly away. His response was something along the lines of, “why does everyone care?” After cashing out, we went to go fill our cups. However, there was no ice. We went back to the counter and waited for someone to come up. No one came up until other customers walked in and overheard from their interaction that the ice machine was broken and they had just been putting cups of ice out at the soda station. That’s janky and I don’t really want to use ice that’s just been sitting there. Other customers agreed that it was questionable. It would’ve been super simple for them to communicate this upfront or even offer to fill the cups with ice for us. The food was cold and fries were overly salty, i could quite literally feel my cholesterol levels on the rise. We had ordered, ate our meal, and no one still had removed the flag so my husband went ahead and fixed it himself. Took all but 2 minutes, so not sure why someone who’s literally getting paid to be there couldn’t have taken the time to do it. (Yes, it wasn’t a big deal about the flag, but the response it evoked was unnecessary). I love Whataburger and typically have decent experiences. I’m not sure if it’s this location or that if it’s a one-off, but staff needs to improve customer service skills.
Ordered a burger and a chicken strip meal. Should have known from the name that the chi ken strips would be horrible. Over cooked, hard and waaaayyy too much coating. Fries were good. Burger is good size and was smothered with BBQ sauce and bacon. Went to find a seat and every booth was dirty even though it was not busy inside. In a word...disappointing 🙁
Ordered my food and had to wait 30 minutes. The Manager didn’t even say sorry or apologize. Once my meal finally came, they forgot to add the gravy that I paid for. What kind of service is this? Disappointed!
Lobby closed indefinitely, drive thru takes at least 30 mins so plan accordingly. Only 1 window open and the other window is used for storage. A take from Burger King's playbook. Staff was nice, my order was correct and well put together + spicy ketchup in the bag. What a relief. Unfortunately they must offer the bare minimum of pay. Took this long to staff and the employee parking looks like a junk yard, every single vehicle missing mirrors windows bumpers etc. Not posting the pic out of respect for the employees, but what a turn off. Also i get the struggle, my personal vehicle has been off the road for months, this isnt hate, it's just a reflection of the establishment as a whole. Landscape features newly planted trees (crape myrtle, magnolia) that are disease ridden and mostly defoliated. Maybe another corner cut using free/unwanted trees to save money. The grass is the wrong type for the location and will require more input to look acceptable. Seeing the corners cut already, I doubt they will be paying the upkeep. Brand new shiny concrete, beautiful building accented by a pile of trash and busted sauce packets littered under the open drive thru window. You know exactly what im talking about. Overall I was excited to have a Whataburger open that I can visit on my way home from work. I would say give this place a few months to get into the groove but its not a execution problem. Its a funding/management problem. I didnt look into who owns this location, but i am interested if they have other locations or brands i can visit for comparison. Again, the product (staff, food) was just fine as expected and i appreciate their service. The location needs to be better funded and cared for.
We live be across the street from this location. So we travel to the beach location because this is a terrible Whataburger. Service is slow, then food is terrible and wrong. I would not eat here if the food was free. I have been eating Whataburger for 40 yrs, and this location has made me no longer have that craving. Get rid of the entire staff and hire people who want to work and give customers what they pay for. Not asking for much. But a honey chicken biscuit that doesn't taste like cold rubber should be standard.
If i could give this place 0 stars all the way down and still write a review that’s exactly what i would do. it was late the other night and my wife and myself were hungry she said she had never had whataburger before and i myself had it a few times and never had issues food was always good. well on this night particular that was not the case not even in the slightest bit. to begin with we pulled up and the woman taking our order was rude as hell. and basically kept rushing us while trying to order. then we get home with our order after a horrible experience there and literally we both ordered a salad we couldn’t eat ! every single bit of the lettuce in both our salads were completely rotten. it was all mushy/soggy. not eatable what so ever. if you’re going to have poor customer service atleast have food that people can come home and eat that they just purchased. which ever employee that night bagged mine and wife’s food knows damn well they seen what that lettuce looked like because even though it had chicken and other toppings on it i could still see it when i pulled it out the bag without even removing the lid. and for you as an employee to just be okay serving a customer not one but two salads that look that way shows the type of person you are and even as a fast food chain they shouldn’t keep you as an employee either. cus you know damn well you wouldn’t eat it like that or that your momma would never hand you a plate that looks like that. so needless to say this experience was absolutely completely a waste of my time energy and money. and never again will i be seen here. as a manager i can NOT believe these people are even still employed better feel real lucky cus you wouldn’t be with me. now everyone can look at our salads and you all tell me, would you eat it ?!
What’s the point of asking if you want cheese when you’ll end up with cheese anyway? Don’t even want to own up to mistake. Manager Jeff wants you to drive back through rush hour to return burger. Willing to provide picture of botched order. No credit & still charged. Why is this guy working for a TX institution? Had I got the right order, the burger probably wouldn’t have been so dry since they would have had to make it fresh without cheese. I’ve had better service & quality at Beach location.
Every single time they mess up my order. I always ask for no pickles and no onions, and EVERY SINGLE TIME, they still put it on my burger. I used to go through the drive-thru and wouldn’t notice until I got home, which was frustrating since I’m allergic to onions. I either had to throw it away or drive back to get it fixed. So, I started going inside to check my food before leaving, and guess what? They still get it wrong every time. I even asked for a manager once and had to wait 15 minutes just to be told “mistakes happen.” I get it, but this isn’t a one-time mistake—it’s every single visit. This location clearly doesn’t care about accuracy or customer service. Super frustrating. Avoid if you have special requests because they won’t get it right.
YOU WOULD THINK being BRAND NEW their food would be good. BUT NOPE cars were lined up for days so we went and tried this location. WHAT A MISTAKE. Ordering was fine but got to the window I was talking to the employee at the window joking about how all the customers here now and a manager came and told her "close the window". Didn't even talk for 5 seconds. THEN lets get to the food. I threw my chicken sandwich away it was COLD as all hell it was so cold it STRETCHED and something in that sandwich sour. My wife's sandwich was halfway good enough to eat the other half went in the trash. NOW anyone who knows Whataburger chicken sandwiches are good whew child. $12.66 for 2 sandwiches wasted definitely. Light mayo means still put some on there by the way. This NEW restaurant needs a REDO. BEACH BLVD BY WALMART THOUGH 👌 thats the way to go. New hiring managers too. I won't go into that though.
