Qué dicen los clientes de El Taquito
El Taquito is a local favorite known for generous portions of authentic Mexican food and great service. The Chile Colorado wet burrito, tacos (especially carne asada and cabeza), and micheladas are highly recommended. Some find the portions very large and some report slow service.

Opiniones de El Taquito Hayward
Our food was delicious! Lots of parking, easy to access. Place was busy but the wait wasn't long. Well kept restaurant, a good place to take your family.
AWESOME ... great family, authentic hayward #people !!! the red salsa is smoking hot, the green a nice quencher to cool down, i like the onions too, eat the serrano pepper it's not that hot ;) i order caldo de pollo (chicken soup) and that totally fills me up ... nourishing and satisfying, if i'm really hungry i'll order a shrimp tostada. the shrimp tostada is awesome, hundreds of tiny shrimp mounded on a crisp tostada shell, in a perfectly fresh, slightly sweet red sauce, just like a shrimp coctail but laid out huge on a tostada. burritos rock, tacos are the bomb, micheladas are amazing with or without shrimp, service is the best the whole place is one big experience, and on fridays & saturdays it's open until 3AM so you can go get your grub on after a good night's party. Good (make it great) news, chili Colorado with fresh flour tortillas is 10/10 Oh, and steak ranchero !!! #lesswords #threethumbs
When my friend told me he knew a Mexican restaurant in Hayward, I was skeptical but I’m glad I took the plunge. The Taco Cabeza had the juiciest meats I’ve ever had on a taco. The quesadilla had super creamy sauce in the filling. We got the El Taquito (wet) Super Burrito which such juicy carne asada and delicious tomato sauce. Excited to try the other menu items next time
The food here never disappoints. I visit about once a week and usually try at least one thing new and love everything. My favorites are the tostadas, but be careful...two of these might really fill you up. Prices are super reasonable and location of this place is great. Parking lot for ease. Photo is of a carnitas tostada.
A really great combination between an old school Mexican Family restaurant and a stand selling street tacos, this working class place in Hayward, served me some tacos that were HUGE with meat, and where as I ordered three different tacos, I didn't know that each Taco Order came with Two tacos! Notes: The Carne Asada has that taste like some expert Grandma or Taquero Callejero cooked it. The Carnitas were moist and juicy like I like them, and the chorizo was piled HIGH in the Chorizo order. The tables all have onion, Chile, and two salsas one Verde and one Roja, in a four-way metal tray, as do many old school restaurants especially in Southern California. The spicy Salsa Roja had hints of mint, and oregano, which made it unique, and their flan, was fair, and I think had a little chocolate in it. NOTE: order light! they don't mess around here! Try one order of tacos and then see if you are still hungry, don't be Tragon like me! Great people, really nice, and the Patrona there (the queen bee) reminded me of some beautiful Mexican movie queen I remember from when I was a kid in Veracruz, going to the movies near the Zocalo, but I can't remember her name. This place is real, down to earth food, for real people and I recommend it when you want to get real bang for your buck. Taquito Rocks! Next time I'll try something new.
A gem of a restaurant that you could easily walk/drive past by without noticing though if you have been there once you would make the trip more often than often itself. My friend happened to drive me down there and we ordered wet style burritos. He ordered a super veggie burrito for me and an Asada burrito for himself. They were kind enough to take our orders even before the grills were fired up as we happened to reach there 30 minutes of so before the opening time. Picked up the burritos and started devouring them. Every bite was so infused with an amazing taste and kept us craving for more with every further morsel. Was a big burrito to finish by itself but we were able to do justice with the serving and it really was a filler. Would recommend this place for sure in case you are looking to grab amazingly tasty and authentic Mexican cuisine. Increiblemente sabroso !!!
The super burrito was delicious! The chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The burrito (not wet) was huge, and the guacamole was also really good. I also tried the fish taco. It was delicious. The service could have been better. Our waitress did not check on us. Next time I'll order my food to go. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Hayward.
My daughter and I went close to closing time but the staff was friendly and very accommodating. It was our first time at this restaurant and after reading the recommendations and great reviews we decided to give it a try. We were really disappointed. You could tell the order was rushed, the food was cold and lacked flavor. I ordered tacos with steak and it was overcooked and not fresh. The black beans were salty and the rice tasted old, like it had been cooked days ago. we won't be returning. The service ess cź
Been here before MANY TIMES con la familia...The only reason why Im giving it 2stars is because the Shrimp Tostada I ordered was terrible!!! I told The waiter I didn't like it and it was thrown away. I had to get up to The cash register to pay and when I told The cashier I was unable to eat it I was not offered something else in exchange or taken off my bill.....I WAS MADE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING I COULDN'T& DIDNT EAT! I was told The Ceviche is marinated in that nasty Tomato, Ketchup and Tapatio Sauce. My recommendation is SKIP THE SEAFOOD🤢😝 The Food is Always good here....Hotspot for after the club late night cravings since they close @ 3am weekends. Their specialty are tacos and Burritos...Meat is usually very tasty even tho plan to pay $5 per Taco because they are a full tortilla.
I noticed a negative review about this place, where a customer didn't receive an itemized receipt. I've had the same experience. You can report a company to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for not putting what you paid for on the receipt, as this falls under marketplace challenges and misleading business practices.
