Food is always hot. Great drive thru service

When it comes to fried chicken, I'm like a voracious velocirapter. Golden Chick triggered my internal primal animal... fantastic! It was probably best to stand away as I devoured my meal.

Great customer service, very nice and polite employees. There is only drive- thru service at the moment. They have a 1/2 price drink special 2-5 weekdays

Way better than those other chains. That’s for sure. Especially that one from loser-anna lol. Light crispy batter. Not greasy. Tender moist and no mystery bits when you bight into in. Clean restaurant as well.

Yeah I've been to a lot of chicken places and Lord knows we have a lot of them here in Kerrville but Golden Chick totally stands out from all the rest of them they really care about their customers if you dine in the kids get free ice cream the food is exceptionally good I highly recommend if you want get chicken and let's not forget the fried catfish homemade chicken salad you got to stop in get you some fresh chocolate chip cookies and a smile with every order have a golden day

This is the best place, get the mac n cheese this is the bomb, i love it, get mac n cheese and a whole lotta zing sauce for your chicken, yummy yummy in my tummy, please get it.

Spicy chicken sandwich was really good.

We enjoy their catfish and sides. In most cases the fish is freshly fried. The sides are well seasoned and served at the proper temperatures.

Surprisingly good. Bad experience in the past with a different location. Food was hot, correct, and delicious. Drive thru was quick and efficient. Will be back again.

My experience was on 4/16/2020 at 9pm, i called and a lady answered, she was very nice, and allowed me to walk through the drive thru because i was at the best Western. The lady at the window greeted me with a smile, i commend this location on their commitment to give amazing service. Everything was on point, CHICKEN was fresh at 9pm, fries fresh, roll was fresh. My entire transaction took less than two minutes, she was sure to ask if i wanted to upgrade and i did. Im extremely happy with the crew and hope management keeps them.

A+++😁 I am very excited about the fact that Golden Chick uses beef tallow to fry with instead of all the poisonous seed oils used everywhere else, the lady at the counter ,,Noel I think was her name, told me this, and how this isn't their number one selling point has me baffled but I know I will telling everyone that will listen and hope more people find out about it. Game changer just saying !!! Highly recommend and the service well it is very inviting I felt like a vip or a family member or something thanks for good vibes, back soon

The store was so clean and I loved the Christmas decorations especially the stockings with their worker names on them they were so cute . A couple of their works were really great like this lil Mexican lady if I remember I think she said her name was Renata I believe but she was really friendly and funny and overall made my experience amazing and a long with their drive thru worker now her name I remember cause it was so unique it was Krysandra and she was just so bubbly and and over all happy and friendly which just made my day . I would recommend this store to all of my family and friends just cause of theses two ladies especially. Can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu

I love this place, the food is good, hot and fresh and the staff is incredible and friendly especially the drive thru worker I think she said her name was krysandra and she was so polite and bubbly and she really knows what she doing plus not to mention she really adorable and beautiful and the place was so clean and organized and I loved the Christmas decorations especially that Santa between the two Christmas trees . Overall my experience was just amazing and outstanding and I can't wait to go again on my lunch breaks

During our visit to Frio Rio we stopped here for lunch. This is the first time we have been in this place. The chicken tenders which we ordered are super crispy and clean. The food was fresh and delicious! The customer service was good and fast. We planned to visit one our way back but kids where not hunger enough to order. Anyway will visit again if we are around the area.

I give it a 4 star because the chicken was so good but I wanted catfish and they were out. But everything was great

Went here through the drive-through yesterday. The chicken strips are good, nearly on par with chic-fil-a and popeyes, but the sides are heavenly. I will gladly burn my mouth on those fresh fries every chance I get. And the rolls... don't get me started on the rolls. Sweet, buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. I can't get enough. Staff was nice and food came out in a timely manner. Only reason why it's not 5 stars is because the chicken feels a bit lackluster. Good, of course, but could be better. I would give 4.5 stars if I could.

The Hondo location was terrific! Five stars! The Potranco Rd and Loop 1604 location was a disaster! One star. The staff was overwhelmed, the place was messy to dirty, and many food items were poor to completely inedible. The only item we found tasty was the three-shrimp sample. The roast chicken was WAY too soaked in peppery adobo(?) sauce. The dirty rice was ghastly -- the first time I found this offering to truly live up to its name. The soda-dispenser ice component was broken (and apparently had been "down" for a couple days. Sadly, our estimation of this chain took a major hit, and this location is permanently banned from our list.

My dirty rice looks like strait dog poo.(I’ve gotten this multiple times in the past and it’s never looked like this.

My granddaughters love the golden roast chicken, but every single time we stop at this location, they are ALWAYS out. Saturday, they actually had some, so we went in to eat. Dark meat was delicious, but the white meat was dried out and very tough. Needed butter for our rolls, and all the employees were in the back and it took over 6 minutes of me standing at the counter before anyone bothered to come to the front to see what we needed. Same thing when my granddaughters wanted their cones for their ice cream.

Prices are standard, but the quality of the food was average. I ordered spicy chicken, and by spicy they just poor a bunch of spices on top of already cooked chicken? Sides were great though! (Corn nuggets, battered fries, and mashed potatoes)

My first visit to any Golden Chick. I had the grilled chicken, rice dressing and added a piece of fish. The chicken was pretty good, although, I didn't care much for the seasoning; a little salty for my taste. The fish was seasoned well, but cooked a bit too long, which made it hard and crunchy. The rice dressing was really good. The yeast roll was the best I've had at a chicken joint. The reason for three stars is I had my heart set on fried chicken on the bone. I was told at the counter they were out of chicken. O found it odd that a chicken joint would be out of fried chicken. My choices were fried strips or the grilled chicken. I later learned why they were out of chicken when the next customer ordered 6 rolls and he was told there were no more rolls. When asked why, the guy at the counter told the customer they were closing at 10 pm and weren't cooking anything else. That was ok, but it was 9:15 and I would think 45 minutes was long enough to cook my chicken.and his rolls. The staff seemed more concerned with cleaning and closing the store instead of satisfying their customers. There was also brisk drive-thru business while I was there and I overheard the attendant tell several customers they were out of fried chicken and rolls. Perhaps the owner of this particular store wouldn't be happy about these occurrences. The staff was very friendly and I'm sure the store is great before getting near closing. I will be working in the area and will likely return to Golden Chick to see if the owners and management have addressed this concern.

Was in the area for work and wanted something other than Whataburger, or McDonald's and thought this would hit the spot...sadly no. Orderly the Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich Combo, was initially overcharged, while at the window I watched the employee repeatedly use cups to scoop ice vs the actual scooper that was right there. Overfilled a drink, wiped away the overage with her hand then another cup back into the ice. Once getting my food, definitely wasn't impressed with the sandwich, the only thing that was enjoyable was the coleslaw. Back to Whataburger it is...

Not sure what happened to this location, but the service has gone down tremendously. The past few times we’ve been there the food has been off. Order not correct and service is not good. After the last takeout order from this evening I figured it’s time to finally review. Will not be going back.

The manager at this location is rude and lacks customer service skills. Her treatment towards customers leaves them feeling stupid and the vibe she gives off says she thinks she’s better than you. A simple mistake was made in pulling to the wrong spot in the drive thru line and when the customer attempted to explain what they heard her response was very condescending. The food here is good, but way to expensive to be treated like you are dumb by a teenager with a head set who has a manager’s label.

ordered the chicken salad sandwich and had a HUGE! bone in the chicken salad, if I would have swallowed that it would have been lights out, no quality control on the food!

They forgot the chicken for the sandwiches, and we were missing tenders.

If you're not going to have everything on the menu why have it on there. No golden roast. So much for eating a little lighter. And if you want dark meat come back another day. My son's Mac and cheese tasted like wallpaper paste. Not coming back.

Ridiculous service, took 10 minutes to take an order and another 15 minutes to get the food. They also threw on extra charges without thinking I would notice.

During Grand Opening the food was Amazing. Unfortunately 3 subsequent visits proved Grand Opening standards would go straight out tbe window once tbe party ended. Awful food, sweet employees.

Last night my husband and I came through after a long day in Laredo. We ordered chicken strips with coleslaw and a Dr Pepper. Simple right? We got semi cold strips so they'd been sitting for quite sometime, definitely not fresh, Dr Pepper watered down (needed to change out syrup) and no spoon or fork for the coleslaw! Typically I would have turned around and had them make it all over again, but I was to tired. Won't go their again

Make sure y’all count yalls change cause they stole 20$ from a 100$ given too them and didn’t give back the right change. Poor management and poor communication! Manager even accused customer of stealing their own money! Ridiculous! Didn’t even come to an agreement manager was trying to kick out the customer all cause they wanted their correct change back! No point in eating here if there’s no good customer service!

We were visiting here 4-5 times a week until today, being our last visit. We received chicken strips that were underdone, they were pink and some were red near the tendons. I submitted a report online and the manager (Caleb) called basically calling us a liar sounding pompous and arrogant saying it was an "isolated incident" and just a "chemical reaction". Uh no apparently YOU don't know how to cook because red and pink chicken is extremely dangerous and at risk for food poisoning. He was "positive" it was cooked right without even seeing what we saw. He offered NO solution to the problem. My RAW lunch went in the trash. You just lost a great customer we'd spend $100 a week here easy. Not anymore though. Buyer beware.

The food is good. But it’s pretty sad when the manager is sitting in the lobby with her phone videos playing sooo loud you can’t even hear the girl behind the counter call out order numbers that are ready! Last time we came in the boy behind the counter was too busy playing and talking with his friends that it took 10 minutes before he finally took our order!! This needs to addressed by some one over the manager since she’s too busy on her loud phone! The couple next to our table said they didn’t want to hear the loud phone playing while they ate either! Tried to give this place another try and still stood for 10 minutes waiting on our order to be taken, so we left. I’ll be trying to contact the manager about this.

Called in an order for a 15 piece chicken with macaroni and okra and no drinks and was charged $53.03, I thought that was kind of pricey and I was able to cancel the order and get a refund, other then that the food is really good there and the employees are nice and helpful
